• KITAHARA (9/5): 最高でした！ - お風呂もジェットバスがあり、和室の雰囲気もとても良かった。京都に来た！ということが実感できた。スタッフさんも到着前のアメニティの確認から当日の対応までとても良くしていただきました。 洗面所が2階まで吹き抜けなので、グループ内で寝る時間が違いすぎると下の声が寝室まで響く可能性あり。

• Haruna (7/5): まぁまぁ良かった。 - 口コミを見て掃除が行き届いてるか、シーツが綺麗かが心配でしたが、掃除は綺麗にされていました。 しかし、2階の梁が埃が積もっていました。手が届かない所ではありますが、気になりました。 今回はお風呂で選んだので、お風呂が良くて良かったです。 古さは気になりますが、落ち着いて使える良い宿でした。 居間の壁が古くて気になりました。 洗面の壁紙がめくれていたり、古民家の良き古さではなく、施設の古さを感じたところが残念でした。 サイトに載っている居間の写真は、分厚い綺麗な座布団ですが、実際は古い煎餅座布団でガッカリしました。 敷布団も1枚だけで床の固さがダイレクトに感じました。普段ベッドで寝ている方は少し辛いかも。 京都は安くてもよく行き届いた民泊が沢山あるので、体感レベルは中の上でした。 あと、基本的な調味料は置いて欲しかったです。料理をちゃんと作るならミニキッチンは非常に使いにくかったので、ご参考までに。 チェックイン別施設も何気に面倒です。

• makoto (8/5): 京都に訪れた際はまた利用したいです - 友人と5人で利用したが、十分な広さだった トイレが1階と2階それぞれにあるのが良かった 水周りが清潔に掃除されていた 空調設備が整っているので真冬でも暖かかった ベッドと布団両方用意されているのが嬉しかった 古い町家を改築したとの事でドアの立て付けが悪かった 玄関のディスプレイが少し埃っぽかった

• Jan (8/5): Quiet little house, highly recommended. - Very nice place, near the Kyoto Railway Museum. We liked it very much. Thank you! Different way (or different person) for check-in would be highly appreciated. We were not welcome to enter the hostel for check-in (as was described in the details). We haven't done anything wrong to that man, but he obviously did not like us or did not like to help Hosta Umekoji Akari. Find someone else or make the check-in on internet as others do. He was actually the only non-polite, grumpy person we met during our 2 weeks in Japan. The family had to wait outside on the street while only I was allowed to enter.

• Julia (10/5): Kyoto genießen - Viel Platz für uns alle und ein gemütlicher Whirlpool im Bad, den wir gerne zum Entspannen genutzt haben. Das Frühstück wurde ins Haus geliefert und war wirklich lecker und sehr reichlich- eine Box gefüllt allem, was Kyoto zu bieten hat. Wir haben die Zeit sehr genossen.

• Anna (10/5): A very clean, spacious and cozy Japanese style house - It was very clean and spacious for 6 of us. It locates within walking distance from the train station, it was quiet at night but we still feel very safe walking in the area at night. Only one bathroom needs to arrange the bathing time for all of us but it was manageable since the washrooms are separated from the bathroom, so we can multitask!

• Marcus (9/5): Superb - Everything was great, the Hosta is in a quiet area 1 train stop from Kyoto station and was an ideal place to relax after a big day seeing the sights Futons were a bit thin but that was easily fixed by doubling them up.

• Vendula (10/5): Absolutely exceptional accommodation. - Absolutely exceptional accommodation. You will be inspired by history, but everything is complemented by modern elements. The hot tub was a nice bonus. If I am ever in Kyoto again, I will most certainly stay here.
• Abigail (1/5): Avoid at all costs, it was incredibly dirty and my husband and I had to get another hotel. - The staff was helpful and spoke English very well which was a help. The only reason this place gets one star is because they processed my refund quickly. The place was incredibly dirty. The bathrooms looked like someone had brushed their teeth and it was never cleaned and the toilets were gross. The beds had ink stains on them (??) and the tatami mats had stains. EVERYTHING was dusty. I genuinely clean my own house better than this place, and I am not trying to impress anyone. There was also the feeling of a weird presence, nothing supernatural it just felt like someone was in the house (which I’m not sure how often they change the door code either). Overall I would avoid this place at all costs, we got a different hotel about 10 minutes after seeing the place. (I wish I could post more photos)

• Kanita (9/5): Superb - Very enjoyable stay. Spacious, beautifully decorated traditional Japanese style home with well equipped and modern facilities. Great for families. Nice quiet location. Walkable to some great restaurants. Nice to be keyless. Nothing. Slightly inconvenient to go to another spot to check in but it is close to the actual accomodation.
• Tasharn (4/5): Disappointing - Only the location. The host came across rude. They shut off the Netflix and all other apps that we was supposed to have. Host told us not to come back only to call him. Instruction manual was not very clear at all

• Ri (6/5): - 玄関にゴミが落ちていたり、部屋の隅には埃が溜まっていた。髪の毛もところどころ落ちていた。加湿空気清浄機もあるが、内部が掃除されておらず使える状態ではなかった。お箸も洗ったのか？って思える状態のものもあった。日本人には気になるところがたくさんあったが広さやネットフリックスを自由に見られる所は良い。
• Van (10/5): Exceptional - This house is huge, much bigger than we expected. It's super clean and has everything we needed. I don't know why the place is listed as 2 star, because we felt like staying at a 5 star hotel. It's also very close to Kyoto station (13 minutes by bus, 2 minutes by train). They also provided a lot of beddings, so each of us (we were a group of 7) had our own bed/futon! They allowed us to drop off our luggage at their hotel, and brought them to the house for us. Overall, an excellent stay! Will definitely book this place again! There aren't many restaurants around, and the closest convenient store is about a five-minute walk away. There's a kitchen to cook your own meal, but there's no supermarket nearby to buy ingredients so you'll have to go grocery shopping by bus. The stair is a little steep.

• Moore (5/5): Enjoyable, comfy enough but honestly guys get it together, this is pretty bad. - What breakfast? The location was fine, nice and quiet - just a bit far from the main part of Kyoto. train line is close and walking around is thankfully something we enjoy. The bath smelled really bad. I know what that smell is and it comes from not cleaning properly. Somewhere there is rotting hair or something because it was quite bad - so bad in fact that I had to pull the large deodorizing / aircon unit from the other room and run it full boar in the bathroom. I even went out and bought incense from the super market to mask the smell so we could at least enjoy the bath - which is very nice, but come on - you're lucky I'm fairly easy going because that was pretty messed up. I'd actually expect something to be done or some kind of refund to be honest. The kitchen cupboards were a mess, the place is not really that comfortable ie there is no seating or anything like that- it is really bare and is just a bit frustrating because its actually a huge house for Japan, and could be amazing. Just lots of little things that just seemed weird with the property and overlooked.

• Dorian (10/5): Great service, location, and price. - The host was very accommodating. Bringing towels everyday. We sent a lot of luggage via tyakkubin and they had them ready in our room. Likewise we sent our luggage out and they helped us fill forms and deal with complication on delivery. Superb service! The hot tub is really only for 1-2 people max but in picture I thought it’ was for 4-5. Now dryer for the washer made it difficult to wash clothes.
