Guest Reviews
- Winnie (10/5): - Great cottage with everything you need!
- Chan (8/5): - Room is spacious. Location is quite fast from town. Bathroom is clean. Having 2 separate bedrooms is excellent for families. The lights were bright , the kitchen equipments are clean and comprehensive.
- David (10/5): - Great place for longer stay.
- Vinujan (6/5): - Nice property but was misled by the initial booking that mentioned breakfast included
- Mark (10/5): - Nice property. Rent all three cottages for large family gathering.
- Thomas (8/5): - Having an outdoor grill was fantastic. Could not figure out how to use the cook top. The hardness of the bed made sleeping difficult. The cottage was spacious. Took a pleasant walk from the cabin towards the hills.
- Vicki (10/5): - We booked this place so that we would be close to the puffin colony. We were lucky to get a newer cabin and it was quite nice. Much more spacious than the hotels we had been staying in. We got carry out from the Salt restaurant and enjoyed our meal at the cabin. Nice and quiet place with a view.
- GYUNGSOOK (8/5): - My car stuck into the snow and ice followed GPS 😑.
Finally, survive from the bad conditions of off road. I have to report to Google.
- Maria (6/5): - Cabin needs a really good dusting.
Couch and side chairs were uncomfortable for a late family movie night
- Julia (8/5): - Great to park right in front of the cottage. Good location
- Deep (10/5): - Hi, the location was on point. It was a cozy little house.
We did not have a very good experience with the owners. We were running behind schedule by 30 mins during checkout. Wanting to finish breakfast we requested if we could stay 15 mins more but were asked to leave as it was past 11:00. Not very pleasant. Overall loved the location.
- Mikaela (10/5): 10/10 Cozy, comfortable cabin surrounded by Nature - This adorable little cabin was perfect for our stay traveling around the Ring Road! My grandmother and I LOVED this cozy place. It was nice to have a cabin all to ourselves and our own beds that were very comfortable! The TV and wifi worked wonderfully (it has been one of the only places with a TV on our stay so far) so we enjoyed a nice movie and coziness on the comfortable couch while it rained at night. The views are incredible & it is Fall time so the leaves are orange and yellow and beautiful against the mountains! The shower was hot & the appliances all worked well for cooking our own meals. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling in the area! Thanks for a great stay!
- Jennifer (10/5): Beautiful cabin in a great setting close to town - Beautiful cabin! Very comfortable and cozy.
- Rajee (10/5): - It is a quaint little cabin very quiet with beautiful scenery around. The highlight was we saw northern lights right in front of the cottage midnight to 2 am
- Tracy (10/5): - Ásgeirsstaðir Cottages is a quaint getaway to enjoy nature and relax. Our neighbors, 3 local sheep were friendly as well;). Staying at Ásgeirsstaðir Cottages is a unique experience for a big city couple like us. Quite, alone, cozy.
Our cottage had a full bedroom, pullout couch and full kitchen. The town is about a 15 min drive where you can pick up groceries at the grocery store, Bonus, and eat at the local bar/grill, Salt. The main house even had an EV charger! Everything in our room worked great and we had no issues. Wonderful stay!
- Asmani (10/5): - This cottage was the perfect place to stop and recharge during our ring road trip! Tucked away and well-kept with all of the necessary amenities. The place provided peaceful privacy, despite being just a 10 min drive from Egilsstadir. Clear communication from the owners as well, with the cottage being ready for us at just the right time.
- Chantal (10/5): - A cozy and unique stay. Close to local towns but it felt as though you were far away from it all.
- Sydney (10/5): - Very quiet, clean, cozy cottage in the country a few miles north of Egilsstadir. It was great to take a short walk up to a small waterfall. We loved it and would go back again.
- Ashok (10/5): Superb - Amazing experience. Stay is going to remain in our life forever. Excellent
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The cabin was clean and pretty. We arrived quite late in the night and the owner was around to check us in.
We did not get a chance to enjoy the hiking trail but the horses in the field were lovely and we got a chance to pet them!
The cabin was a bit small for 4 people but we were only there for 1 night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great cottage. It includes everything you need. You can cook and walk around the place. Super clean.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - This property has four cabins; three that are newer, one that’s older. We got the older one. It needs some renovation; the general vibe is circa 1985. My wife’s allergies kicked in within a few minutes of being in the place. The shower had no hot water. WiFi was poor. If you book here, request the newer facilities!
- JZ (10/5): - Very cozy and lovely, highly recommend it to everyone!
- Carl (10/5): Great experience. - Nice, quiet secluded spot not too far from Egilsstadir or Seydisfoerdur. Cabins were cute, cosy, clean, and the owner was friendly. Highly recommended. If you're there, you should also consider driving through the mountain pass to Borgarfjarðarhöfn for its Puffin viewing spots - the views on the pass alone are worth the drive.
- Ximena (10/5): One of our favorite places in Iceland. - This place was amazing, what a beautiful piece of land. The owner is very friendly and the cabin was perfect. Great location wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommended!!!!
- Gaby (10/5): - The cottage is fully equipped with everything you need and super clean. We only stayed 1 night and wished we would have stayed longer. We loved the location which is remote and you are surrounded by nature, but you are in the next city within 20 min. Super nice host.
- Elana (10/5): Wish we had booked a second night here! - We absolutely loved our stay here and wished we had booked a second night. The location was perfect. Only 12kms from Eglisstadir, so not too far off the main roads. It was quiet and peaceful with beautiful views all around. Sitting out on our patio that evening, the only sound we could hear was the little waterfall adjacent to the property. We got up early and hiked up into the hills before we left. The cottage was cozy and just the right size for our family of 4. The bed was comfortable and I had my best night's sleep of the holiday here. It wasn't fancy accommodation, but it was perfect for our family with 2 young children. We would love to go back and be able to enjoy it for longer!
