The room was lovely and clean on arrival Personally for us the mattress was too soft and we were rolling into the middle all night. Unfortunately we couldn't regulate the room temp, which got cold later on in the evening

• Sian (10/5): A relaxing and comfortable weekend break. - The view was amazing, the room was very comfortable and had lots of amenities. The bed was very comfortable and the room was nice and clean. It was ideally located to get to the beach, shops snd train station. Handy parking in front so I could leave my car nearby. Nothing!

• Brendan (9/5): Warm Welcoming and Ideal location - The room had a great view of the seafront and a nice comfy chair by the window. The owners gave me a warm welcome when I arrived, and they were very helpful for any questions I had amd generally fun to talk to. The room had plenty of space for belongings, and the bed was comfortable. I stayed for 4 nights, and I didn't hear a thing. I didn't hear any quests in other rooms, and I wasn't woken up by traffic outside, which is something I usually have to deal with elsewhere. Overall I wasn't very happy with the stay, and would stay here again when I visit Barmouth again. The bed mattress was slanted to one side, so it felt like I was about to roll off the bed. However, I turned the mattress around, which fixed the problem, and I slept comfortably after that. Whilst generally not a problem, the hot water took a while to warm up. The shower head is mainly a mist type, so not a lot of water comes out, even on max. A normal shower head would probably be much better. It was only a small problem, though, and it did the job.

• Sam (9/5): Lovely seaside hotel - Lovely owners in a great location, nice comfy bed and clean room. The mini fridge was useful and nice to have the kettle with coffee and tea. The view was great of the beach. All was well, there is no door on the shower room so maybe suited towards couples, but not a major issue.
• Kylan (4/5): 2 star pretending to be 4 star. - Location - great. Does not reflect the “4* boutique” description broadcast online. It starts at negotiating the irritatingly low picket front gate, tacky adornments outside, an impassable front door (which you will be warned about in the welcome drivel but told “just try to push through”), nauseatingly overpowering shake ‘n vac odour in common areas, outdated rooms furnished from the recycling centre, draping grandma pelmets, dysfunctional lighting switch arrangements, grubby chairs, hideous and dirty “big foot” shaped floor decor, chipped paint, 70s brown wallpaper, dead insects in light fitting, offensively occupying vanity unit in the shower room, impoverished water pressure, cracked window out onto fire escape..to start to list a few snagging points. I don’t despise 2* accommodation but draw the line with false advertising and gaslighting that this is 4*. The photographer has done a stunning job with the photos used online but buyer beware !!

Owners welcoming and friendly Problem with toilet, took ages to fill up and wouldn't flush even small amount off toilet roll, so had to use the bin, which wasn't hygenic. This should have been spotted by the cleaner.

The host was incredibly friendly, and the room was spotless and comfortable, featuring a lovely mountain view. The location was perfect, just a short walk to the town and beach. We enjoyed our time on the beachfront and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Barmouth. We can’t wait to return! N/A

Perched right on the seafront, the guest house offers breathtaking views of the sea and mountains, especially from the large bay windows. The room was spotless, cozy, and beautifully maintained—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring the coast. The host was warm, friendly, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We loved being just a short walk from the beach, local shops, and some great cafés. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with stunning views and genuine hospitality, Wavecrest is the perfect choice. Highly recommended!

Beautifully furnished, decorated and looked after by lovely owners (especially the excellent Dave), who were helpful and informative. Availability of free on-street parking is a bit of a lottery - there is reasonably priced parking nearby if you can't find a spot, though.
• Smith (10/5): Great stay - Was greeted by a lovely host, was given the opportunity to upgrade to a larger room. The single I had booked was great for one night, so I stayed with that. Fantastic sea view and the room was spotless. Will definitely be staying again.
• Selina (10/5): Can highly recommend. I will definitely be returning and will only stay at Wave crest - Breakfast not provided. But new this before I booked. Room on top floor perfect for me. I loved having the seaview. The room was perfect for what I needed very quiet, and over looked the beach and the sea. I was able to sit by the window with my kindle, read my book and watch the world go by. So relaxing. I also went to complete the parkrun to give me the Welsh flag and the Y on my parkrun app. The owner of the hotel was totally brilliant. Very welcoming. Felt like a home from home. Which is nice when your traveling alone. I got to meet his dog Dave who was so cute and loved being stroked. It was really nice to see the owner and Dave the dog out supporting the parkrun on sat morning even waved and said hello to me . Nice to have the support when travelling on my own to a new location. I will definitely be returning to Barmouth and will stay at Wave crest. Fingers crossed 🤞 I get room 10 . Really enjoyed my stay. Everything was just perfect
