Guest Reviews
- Ian (10/5): - An amazing hidden gem. Everything about the property and the staff made this the perfect place to stay with our family. Uniquely charming, Duncan and team have thought of everything.
- Jessica (10/5): Great stay at Cnoc Hotel. - My parents and I had a wonderful stay at the Cnoc Hotel. Duncan was a gracious host and the food he made for dinner and breakfast was some of the best we've had on our trip. The setting was peaceful and the rooms were cozy and clean. A great find as we explored the Highlands.
- Lucy (8/5): Nice place - Very nice owner. Very accommodating. Good breakfast. Comfortable bed and pillows.
- Kathleen (10/5): - Small, charming hotel with restaurant, lounge, and helpful owners.
- Philip (10/5): the restful place - The Cnoc Hotel is in a lovely quiet spot, I was happy there.
- Ian (8/5): - Really friendly owners & staff. Good food.
- Keith (10/5): - Hotel situated in a stunning location. Anyone looking to relax can certainly make themselves at home. Relaxed atmosphere and comfortable bed. No tv however they are trying to promote an atmosphere that does not need a tv. Not that there's much on it anyway. Also with free, fast wi-fi you can still use your phone/tablet if you need to watch something etc. Meals very nice, Steak was tasty and Haddock was in a Golden beer batter and was lovely. Pea and mint soup was tasty and fresh bread had a really nice flavour.
Lovely family run hotel that provides comfort and rest. *****
- David P (10/5): - I got it because it was close to where I was going but was astoundingly happy there. There area is out in the country and the property is a converted building originally built for workers on the surrounding estates. Great history and an old church on the property. Beautiful walks and a lot of birds and cows. I saw a rare woodpecker in the front and the whole dinner room stopped to come look.
The hosts are an extremely nice young couple and a lot of fun to talk to. There is an excellent little drink and snack area with great options and other side of the is a very comfortable reading area. It was nice that I was able to have a drink and a small family could sit in the comfy room and read.
The room was in the upstairs area you can see in the picture. It had a lot of character and was very comfortable and large. Two beds. Tea, coffee, and a delicious chocolate chip buscuit and ginger cookie.
The biggest reason to stay here is that man can cook! Dinner was fantastic and breakfast was as well. Best meals I had on the trip and dinner was extremely reasonable!
You are maybe 20 minutes from Beauly and under 30 from Edinburgh. Stay here for a great location, save a lot of money over noisy Edinburgh, and have fantastic food!
- Julianna (8/5): - The cnoc hotel is a lovely property just outside beauly. Its location is beautiful and quiet. The hotel includes a pub/bar a wonderful room where one can sit relax and read a book or meet with other guest and a nice dining area where they serve breakfast and dinner. Duncan the owner was anccomodating Our room and bath were large compared to other properties we have stayed at. It was clean and comfortable. The only reason for a 4 star instead of 5 star was the water pressure in the bath is low.
- Patrick (10/5): - The host and staff are excellent
- Michael (10/5): - Brilliant place for a quiet getaway. Food excellent and the staff are nothing short of brilliant
- Julie (10/5): - Wonderful place to stay if you are looking for a quiet place away from the crowds. Duncan is a great host & the food was excellent. It is a good base for outdoor activities such as hiking or fishing.
- John (10/5): - Great countryside location with spectacular views. Great warm welcome and checkout.
- Julia (10/5): - Wonderful family run hotel. They need to change their logo signage ( see above), as they have a lovely property and home to show off. Hard to tell anything from that photo except two cute dogs !
Great food, lovely people
- Farzan (10/5): - This was by far the best hotel experience we have had on our trip. The staff was awesome. We arrived late due to a car accident and Duncan went out of his way to make sure there was food for us. He did a wonderful job accommodating our vegan guests as well. Thanks for a great experience
- PAUL (10/5): - Great wee hotel with fantastic character and Duncan the hotel owner is so friendly and helpful highly recommended will book again soon. Great breakfast.

- Jan (4/5): - Owner and staff very friendly and helpful, but the property needs much renovation and refits especially the bathroom which was so dated and tiny.
Clean beds and towels and the food was fine.
- Stewart (8/5): - Hotel is fine but isolated. This will be a positive for some and slightly negative for others

The owner,Duncan ,gave a real warm welcome on arrival and covered everything i needed to know about my room and facilties of the hotel.
The bar has a warm atmosphere and i was able to meet and chat with other guests and share some experiences, again Duncan took an active role in making sure the evening went well.
Personally i didnt have an evening meal but i did overhear from other guests and they were very complimentary.
Morning breakfast was superb and is served in a sensible time of 7.30 to 9.30 am .Overall i made a good decision with choosing this hotel and would highly recommend you do the same .
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good country house hotel. - Excellent country house hotel in very small rural quiet hamlet. Greeted by the 2 very friendly springer spaniels. Very comfortable and cosy hotel. Only drawback no tvs in hotel at all either in room or resident lounge. No menu was chef dish on the night. You may be kept awake by the cow in the field opposite who sounded more like a donkey!!
- Stuart (10/5): - Duncan was a great host and if you are looking for a unique and remote location in the Highlands, its highly recommended
- Stephanie (8/5): - The owner/property manager was so wonderful--very hardworking, pleasant and helpful. Beautiful location, but the property could use some updating.
- Donna (10/5): A lovely hotel and a very warm welcome - This is a hidden gem of a hotel, small and very friendly. Duncan and Luzaan are so welcoming and we felt very relaxed. Meals were superb and we felt very well looked after. Great tips for lovely walks by the river and further afield. Would love to go back again and do some exploring in the local area - this time with our dog as the hotel is dog friendly.
- Jamie (8/5): - Very historic, rustic and beautiful older property. It was very quiet and the host Duncan was spectacular! We thought we were going to have to go all the way back to town for dinner. He served us a delicious meal and even dessert.
The tubs are unique but functional and warm water after a bit of a warm up. Very comfy, clean and welcoming.
- Francisco Borja (10/5): - Great, cozy small hotel tucked less than 30 min away from Invernesss in a breathtaking area.
Duncan was great and welcomed us warmly late in the day. Great food, great atmosphere.
A hidden gem!
- Jessica (10/5): - Cnoc Hotel is a gem! We booked it last minute. Duncan is an amazing host and chef! Dinner and breakfast were delicious and the cozy fire in library was icing on the cake.
To Expedia team - please fix the link on your site to point to the proper address. Using google maps directly searching the name works, but the link on your site routes to the middle of town.

- Robyn (10/5): Lovely cosy stay, great hosts - Really lovely stay, Duncan was so kind and thoughtful. Food was great. Room was spacious and comfortable, very clean. The downstairs residents lounge was cosy and we spent time there every day. No criticisms at all, it was a great stay.

- Steve (10/5): - The property is well positioned away from main roads. Very quiet and the air is fresh. Host was very helpful, courteous, gave ideas on things to do in the area. Food was superb and freshly made.

- Ian (8/5): - Very friendly staff with great food, although the choice of menu was limited.
While the hotel was very clean the state of the grouting in the shower was not really acceptable
