- Michele (10/5): Room was amazing staff superb - Very dog friendly
- Lee (10/5): - The staff are outstanding. Location the same. Room 1 ia a suite and a must have in my book. Rooms are immaculate and the food great. Nothing. We've booked the suite for July 26

- Ellen (10/5): Fab and we'll be back. - Amazing breakfast. Perfect location. We had a great sleep.
- Mmitha (10/5): A taste of heaven on earth - Absolutely fabulous stay in this wee haven right on the sea. Beautiful views, beautiful walks right on doorstep, warm and attentive staff, dog friendly and the comfiest bed ever. Very clean and relaxed atmosphere. Scrumptious breakfast. Can’t beat this place. Evening meal standard not as good as before, altho the Cullen skink was exceptional. Bit on pricey side but overall worth it for a treat and perfect getaway.
- Tammy (10/5): -
- Junior (9/5): - Very clean, excellent hospitality and good value for money food...
Will definitely stay there again Nothing
- Ava (10/5): Will definitely be back! - Beautiful views, great food and amazing staff Rooms were a little on the smaller size but view made up for it!
- sharon (9/5): Great location , lovely staff and tasty food - Excellent location All good
- kim (10/5): Amazing - Amazing location for beach walks
- Anders (8/5): Cozy place for couples. Near several good golf courses. - The location on the sea is spectacular. I loved hearing and watching the waves coming in below our window. Staff in hotel was more personal than in the restaurant.
There is a great pub across the street, with perfect pints of real ale, and a great atmosphere (especially if youre fond of dogs!) The upstairs bar is really cozy, and had a few interesting makt whiskies. The hotel pub was a bit unpersonal, and was empty pretty early even though it was a weekend and had live music.
- anne (10/5): - Everything I should have stayed longer
- ARTHUR (8/5): My regret is that I didn't have a pen to fill out the guest book and tell them how much we enjoyed. - The staff were amazing! The breakfast was excellent also. The hotel was situated right beside the sea and at night we could here the waves and found it really relaxing. We had a meal both nights, our second evening meal was very good, my brulee was one of the best I have had. It was also clean. Our first meal, the fish was quite greasy and my languini was very rich, I didn't manage to finish it. The place could do with a lick of paint - although that didn't affect our stay.

- SCOTT (8/5): Great storefront location. - The Crusoe has a lovely waterfront situation in Lower Largo pretty much right on the Fife coastal path. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. The room we had was a decent size, nice and bright, with a comfortable bed, TV, coffee/tea facilities, plenty of sockets/usb charging. It had a nice view immediately over the shore, which also provided a lovely lapping wave soundtrack. There was a nice shower room, compact but adequate, with plenty of towels provided. The food was very good from the breakfast ( continental buffet and a good cooked selection) to the restaurant and bar offering. Everything was very tasty. The view was lovely but sadly through some small windows (due to age and being a listed building). The shower room/toilet was a bit tight on shelf/counter space for toiletries. Please also note the website info re parking. There are only 2 on-site parking spaces and Lower Largo is very tight for spaces. There is a free public car park a few minutes walk up a pretty steep path and we only just got the last space in that. While I appreciate it is well through the season a few areas in the room and common areas were looking pretty tired. I'm not sure the overall condition reflected the comparatively high rate.
- Frances (9/5): - The view and the incredible staff. Will be back soon! Lack of parking
- jeff (10/5): We'd do it again - Professional management and staff
- Mauro (5/5): Avevo aspettative sul fascino di una struttura balneare di pescatori - Quasi sufficiente la camera Immaginavo fosse molto più curata
- Paola (8/5): -
- PHIL (8/5): Comfy stay , lovely setting and good food. - Location, lovely beach / shore for walks , very comfy well facilitated room. Food pretty good, we had a bit of dinner order mess up and the whole dinner cost was taken form the bill, an apology and a free drink would have been acceptable,
Quiet location , nice old pub next door .
Great breakfast
Not far from St Andrews and a much cheaper option if in Fife. No much really, Hotel looks aged on the outside , but right on the sea it gets weather beaten.
- Duncan (9/5): -
- Keryl (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Malcolm (8/5): excellent location , wonderful setting in a beautiful part of the country - The view from the bedroom was exceptional and the sound of the waves at high tide was very relaxing. The food was very good and all the staff were very nice and friendly. The car parking was a bit chaotic not helped by the Largo art festival week being on, as this resulted in the car park being closed and all guests having to park their car in the public car parks or on the road.
- Clark (7/5): Good - Good service and location Due to arts fair car park was out of use and we had to park remotely. However during our stay the car park was not used which annoyed us.
- Jolynn (7/5): Cute place right on the water, friendly staff but not worth the price overall. -
- Artur (9/5): Charming hotel for exploring the picturesque Scottish coast - Hotel with a story right by the sea. Tastefully decorated modern rooms. Comfortable beds. Excellent and healthy breakfast and superb dining in the Hotel and the sister restaurant Ship Inn in Elie (- with free shuttle service). Authentic bar with pool billiard, dart and live music. Very nice and helpful staff. Great starting point for visiting the lovely Scottish coast, Isle of May and St. Andrews.
- William (9/5): Great little hotel - Food was good, dinner and breakfast, all staff were lovely, great location on beach for dog walks. The adjoining door to next room, understand it's good for bigger families if required however we could hear every word of guests next door (and vice versa). They have ones without adjoining door so worth asking next time.
- Elaine (10/5): Very enjoyable - Everything
- Margaret (9/5): Excellent short break with friendly & professional staff. - Well maintained, comfortable and clean. A second chair in the bedroom would have been appreciated
- Philip (10/5): Great food from lovely people - Food and services
- Martin (9/5): Superb - Amazing setting with a truly authentic feel and helpful staff
- Matthew (9/5): Most expensive hotel of my trip. Maybe best value (so far) - Food was unbelievable… Cullen Skink extraordinary. Friendly and helpful staff, spacious airy and bright rooms, sea view Loo is small and cramped
- Linda (9/5): Lovely stay. Would recommend - Friendly staff. Location to beach. Internal decor. Food. Atmosphere.
- Douglas (10/5): Exceptional - Location was excellent. Staff exceeded the breakfast by purchasing G/F sausage for breakfast iin their own time. All breakfasts were cooked to perfection. Staff attentive but not intrusive during meals. Coming home. Would liked to have stayed longer.
- Roberto (9/5): Superb - Excellent breakfast Great view out to sea nothing
- Jennifer (10/5): We had a lovely stay and would happily recommend to others. - Excellent location. The view was stunning. The staff were friendly and helpful. Lovely room with everything we needed. Nothing.
- Jayne (10/5): Exceptional - Location excellent
- Janet (10/5): A cosy beach side retreat with a warm welcome - Location was amazing - right on the beach and the Fife Coastal Path. The service was exceptional and the staff really went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay, sharing local transport information and even posted on some personal property that we left behind. Nothing we didn’t like about the property. The evening meal was delicious and good value but the portions were too large for many of our party.
- Claire (10/5): Just beautiful! - What a Beautiful hotel in a gorgeous location. Dog friendly, big win.
Our room was gorgeous, looked on to the sea. Very clean.
Breakfast was lovely, great selection. Haggis on the full Scottish breakfast was the best I've ever had. We ate at the hotel in the evening and wasn't disappointed.
The staff are lovely, welcoming and accommodating.
We look forward to staying with The Crusoe again.
- Gregor (10/5): Good customer care and a wonderful location in Fife. - Breakfast was absolutely excellent and we enjoyed every morning. Staff at this hotel were generally outstanding in terms of customer care. We were very happy to stay there and would not hesitate about returning, The location was also quite dramatic , being right on the high tide mark. I was entertained by the copy of “Robinson Crusoe” in each room. Any complaint here would be trivial ( no marmalade for breakfast?). We enjoyed our stay very much.
- Carol (8/5): Very good -
- Whatshedrew (9/5): Superb -
- Nichola (10/5): Such a relaxing stay by the sea. - The property is right next to the sea. When they say sea view that is exactly what you get. So comfortable and relaxing. The breakfast was A+ and so was the service. All the staff especially the lovely receptionist couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. Couldn’t complain about anything.
- Colin (10/5): Little gem with sea view - Staff very friendly. Good location. Little extras made you feel special. Food and service excellent
- Fiona (8/5): Very good -
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Room right next to sea all staff very friendly food excellent great location bed comfortable Limited parking but on our visit we got parked ok
- Alison (10/5): Exceptional - Wow. It is quite literally ON the water. Great wee pub and restaurant.
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Debbie (10/5): Short Break - The hotel is in the most perfect location and the rooms are lovely and warm and fashionable with the best views ever.
The staff were all incredibly friendly.
- Peter (8/5): Nice hotel, great staff, excellent location. - The location is amazing right on the water's edge with views over to East Lothian. The staff were all wonderful, the breakfast was excellent and the little snug bar is great. The room was nice and comfy, very warm and clean. Really enjoyed our stay. Don't really want to put anything here as we really enjoyed our stay.
- Amber (8/5): Very good -
- Ana (6/5): amazing! - this place is full of great energy and history, loved the nice walk around the litter town, the Robinson Crouse monument. the views are Breth taking!! the food was amazing too. we spent just 1 night!!
- Caitlin (9/5): Superb - Lovely view from bedroom
Quiet surroundings
- Julie (8/5): Very nice, staff were lovely, the rates we felt were quite expensive for the Sunday and Monday night - Breakfast was lovely. Plenty of choices, varieties of all. We ate in the restaurant both nights. Food was good, no complaints. There could have been more choices in the main courses for myself. We booked a family table for 8 adults on the Monday evening. The majority of us had the fish and chips which was lovely.
- Anne (10/5): Extremely enjoyable - The food was excellent and the situation of the hotel fantastic. Best of all perhaps was the friendliness of the staff. I wouldn’t like to change anything
- Nicola (10/5): Exceptional - Location, staff extremely helpful and friendly, the food was fantastic, hotel gorgeous Stunning views from the bedroom Checking out didn't want to leave
- Ashanthi (10/5): Exceptional - Location. Cosy clean room.
- Paddy (10/5): Location and everything about Crusoe brilliant - Location and the legend The sound of the sea the breakfasts and staff were really friendly. The curtesy bus service to other inns (The Ship Inn) meant that you got more choice Nothing

- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -

- Kellie (10/5): This hotel is a hidden gem - feels like a getaway and when the tide is high, it looks like you are at sea when you look - Exceptional food, classy service, super comfy mattress and bedding, hidden getaway feel. My husband said that it might be the best cooked breakfast he has ever had (which is high praise indeed given we have been lucky enough to travel extensively to some very exclusive resorts and hotels around the world). Nothing!
- Andrew (10/5): Every aspect of our stay was exceptionally good and I would recommend to anybody thinking of a visit. The location next - Location was idyllic, room excellent, restaurant and bar were tasteful with great choice, quality and service. People were welcoming, polite and professional. Parking is a bit tight, but we managed to get parked every day.
- Stuart (10/5): Exceptional - Lots of personal touches , the uniqueness of the sea lapping up against the wall of the hotel, it was lovely listening to this at night ,the staff who were always on hand ,lots of outside space when the sun comes out , a really unique rustic hotel, loved the upstairs dining room . Absolutely nothing
- Roderick (9/5): Superfriendly, well refurbished and a unique spot -
- Cam (8/5): Enjoyed the stop at the Crusoe. Beautiful place by the sea. - Great spot on the ocean front.
Great food and service.
Very warm and welcoming. Couldn’t really say a bad word about the place
