Guest Reviews

- Simons (8/5): The staff and environment is lovely. - Location is great and it is a nice and peaceful environment. It was quite humid and my clothes even in the room were a bit humid, same for the bed cover. I am not sure if it is because it was raining but it just felt really humid.
- Martina (8/5): - Freundliches Personal, grüne Anlage fußläufig zu Arusha Zentrum, schönes Zimmer mit überdachter Veranda
- Thomas (9/5): - Friendly, decent restaurant. Nice to have a pool and loungers. Helpful staff. Secure Not the most centra locationl but fine if you are driving
- Lukas (8/5): -
- Ankr (7/5): stille Oase ... gemütliche Ambiente .. grosse Zimmer und Betten .... und freundliches Personal - sehr gemütlich schöne Stoffe und Materialien schlicht
ohne Extravaganzen
- Amy (9/5): -
- Diana (9/5): - Feels like home after visiting so many times and being welcomed like a friend More variety in breakfast would ne nice if you are a regular visitor
- Mary Louise (7/5): A low key but nice place in a lovely setting. - The food was really good. The staff friendly and helpful. Never had housecleaning - 3 night stay…..they were surprised at check out so probably not the norm.
- Lily (10/5): Pleasant Stay & Brilliant Staff - Super! Filling and nutritious.
- Gary (9/5): A pleasant stay in Arusha. - Breakfast was filling with multiple options.
Friendly efficient staff. Wifi in the restaurant is fast and reliable. Wifi in the room was slow and intermittent.
- Christine (10/5): - Gentillesse du personnel. Très bonne nourriture. Grande chambre propre.
Rien. Tout était parfait
- M (9/5): A pleasant stay - Friendly staff, breakfast, pick up from airport, good restaurant (with vegetarian options) The furniture needs some repair (closing doors)
- Emile (2/5): Het verblijf was heel kort, binnen 1 uur waren we weg.
- Gail (10/5): The enviroment made it a pleasant and enjoyable place to relax. Comfortable and clean rooms. - The location was good- we were able to walk to town centre. It was in a safe area. it was a nice quiet enviroment and the pool was clean and refreshing. Breakfast was very good. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. I liked everything about the Outpost Lodge

- Vera (9/5): Heel mooi resort. - De sfeer in de mooie tuin. Gehorig.

- tannett (10/5): Quiet Oasis in a busy city. Excellent value for money - I always stay here when traveling through Arusha. The staff is excellent, they remember you when you are a repeat customer. The value is excellent, not fancy, a quiet oasis in a busy city. Drivers are available for errands in the city and pick up from the airport. Would not stay anywhere else. The Outpost meets and exceeds my expectations. There are more western style hotels nearby, but they do not offer more than the Outpost. There is nothing I don't like.
- Kiah (10/5): Great value, location, facilities and service - Great value for money, clean room, lovely staff, restaurant onsite with yummy food, walkable to town. Everything you need for a short stay in Arusha
- Catherine (9/5): -
Alles super
- Alisha (8/5): -
- Emily (8/5): - Outpost isn’t a high end hotel but it has everything you need and it does the job. Decent breakfast and the staff were really helpful when I needed to check in early and helped organise a taxi to the airport for me in the early hours with a takeaway breakfast It’s near a noisy ish road so be prepared to hear a few cars and motorcycles throughout the day.
- Edwin (8/5): - Very decent space. The only issue I had was the wifi. There are a buch of them and could not connect to any of them from my room, very unreliable.
- Catherine (8/5): -
- Antony (8/5): -
- Alana (10/5): It's a cozy rustic hotel, a nature filled escape. - The staff was friendly and accommodating.
Food was delicious and inexpensive. The wifi was spotty, worked best at reception.
- Yordi (10/5): -
- Ibrahim (8/5): Place was good but only they need to make small shower for the toilet - Place was good but only they need to make small shower for the toilet
- Carmen (9/5): Nice place with excellent food. Recomendable. - Location. Garden setting. Nice bar/restaurant. Excellent food. They gave us a handicap room so the sink was at knee level. Shower didn’t work properly.
- Plissart (9/5): Great! - Gorgeous garden, good food and great staff!
- Juan (8/5): Very good -
- Christina (7/5): Good - It was a secure compound and felt safe with no problem with intruders. The food was good and the fresh hand cut hot chips were excellent. There was a mix up between the hotel and taxi they arranged to pick me up at the airport which meant I was left waiting for a while. My original room was a little drab but the other rooms were brighter. Luck of the draw.
- Irina (8/5): Very good -
- Petra (9/5): Superb -
- Anne (9/5): Excellent . - A real luxury after our safari experience .
- Alexandra (8/5): classic resort, takes you back in time as it was hospitality experienced during the 80s -90s - the location, the staff, the gardens, the atmosphere it’s good but rooms are worn off and in need of update, mainly of its equipment (beds, windows, mosquito nets (they don’t work), bathrooms furniture, accessories etc) without loosing its character.
- Tomas (9/5): Superb - Vi really enjoyed hanging around by the pool and taking a swim every day. I would recommend the place especially to families with kids. Great personall and good food. Close to the city centre. The facility is situated just over a wall by a trafficated road with some noice and air pollution.
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Jaime (10/5): - We had a perfect stay, all of the staff were friendly and helpful. They provided breakfast boxes for us to take in the morning because we had to leave earlier than breakfast was going to be served. Great service and clean, big room!
- Sarah (8/5): Hotel was quiet and leafy with the fun addition of monkeys swinging in the tress. Staff are friendly and the food is goo - Good ambiance, comfy beds, good dinner, nice shower Toilet door didn’t close
- Jess (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (8/5): A lot of history at the Outpost Lodge! Could feel it! - Perfect location! Nice cafe & pool! Easy to chill! Nothing!
- Jess (10/5): A home away from home. - I stay here for work regularly. This time I am travelling for holiday and it was just so wonderful to come somewhere so welcoming and comfortable.
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Ken (7/5): Good -
- Robin (3/5): Poor -
- Morrison (9/5): Superb - Lovely property with lots of natural, lush vegetation. Nice pool with plenty of shade. Convenient restaurant with excellent coffee/espresso drinks and pretty good food. Friendly staff. Excellent bargain, given the price! Will definitely stay here again next time I'm in town! Wifi only available in common areas.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice, secure place and a good value. The restaurant was surprisingly good. No need to walk to nearby restaurants. We would highly recommend it. The staff is great.
- Latif (7/5): Good -
- Sekine (8/5): Very good -
- Stephanie (8/5): Very good - Nice garden/chilllounge, good food
- Sekine (8/5): Very good -
- Jack (9/5): Superb -
- Matthew (8/5): Very good -
- Bernie (8/5): Worth the money, good location as you can walk to the centre of town. - Fairly quiet room. Good security. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Meals were good, as was the selection. Wifi was a bit sketchy as you had to move to “hot locations” to connect. Would have been convenient to text family from our room.
- Diana (9/5): Superb - The personal attention of each individual Member of the staff Nothing except the rudeness of some other guests who sometimes seem to think they have bought the entire vhitel
- Elias (10/5): Exceptional - Very good to start safari Very good to start safari
- Elias (10/5): Exceptional - All best
- Mcneal (8/5): Very good -
- Ivo (8/5): nice overnight stay - The atmosphere was great, also garden was nice and the bar offer was reasonable. Kids did enjoyed the pool. Water in rooms was in home filled bottles. My friend from our group complained about the room they had, cleanes etc.
- Dhush (10/5): The staff and acommodation for Outpost Lodge were excellent. Asante sana, I shall recommend and retr - Staff were very friendly , professional and always happy to give advice.
Breakfast was excellent, and excellent value for evening meals and drinks.
Also, good value for accommodation.
Thank you to the Team! All good!
- Rhianne (8/5): Very good -
- Rhianne (8/5): Friendly, safe and enjoyable stay - Safe location, good security, comfortable bed with mosquito net, friendly staff, nice garden. The rooms could do with re-painting, the swimming pool was dirty with leaves and bugs floating in it. Overall this was one of the cheaper options in Arusha so the standard was expected
- Deborah (7/5): Good - Food was good and staff were friendly. The shower was a big problem. the hot water was TOO HOT and couldn't get the shower mixerr to work
- Gift (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (4/5): Basic lodge, nothing special. - Nice bar area and friendly bar staff. No evidence of anyone taking pride in trying to improve what felt like a tired, basic lodge. Policy of no wifi in bedrooms is unhelpful.
- Leanne (10/5): Wonderful stay - Well located. Rooms really clean and comfortable.comfortable lounge areas and a bar. But it was the staff who made it such a special stay. They were all so kind and friendly and went out of their way to offer any assistance. Even organised some day trips with an excellent guide. Nothing was too much trouble. Nothing
- Bertil (5/5): Nice place, but barking dog - The food is great and the staff at the bar and restaurant is very nice. Unfortunately the neighbor dog was barking all night long. I must admit that I'm not an easy sleeper, so it bothered me a great deal. I was in 2 different rooms, one was modern, the second was far over the hill.
- Jonquil (7/5): Good - Comfortable beds. Hot showers. Bar was closed because we arrived late.
- Elizabeth (6/5): - This is a lovely property and I had planned to stay on a few days after my tour to rest and relax however there was no internet in the room, the faucet in the sink and shower was broken (cold shower for me) and there was an incessantly barking dog the for the three nights I stayed that did not quit the whole night long. It was fine for the stopover before and after my tour but to rest and relax, not a chance. Also, a busy road in front of the place had lots of noisy motorcycle, truck and car traffic noise. NOT relaxing at all. The damn dog was the WORST!
- Vivienne (8/5): Enjoyable, provided all that one requires. - Breakfast was good. Good selection by African standards.
Good bar and restaurant provides good food selection. Good service staff attentive. I thought the bed covers could be upgraded a bit.
- Laoise (6/5): A nice place to stay, but overpriced for what you get. - Everywhere was very clean. The communal areas around the bar and the pool were beautiful. Breakfast and dinner were delicious - the food was very fresh. The room was not ready at the advertised time of check in at 2pm. No apology was offered for the delay. The room I stayed in was very dark and had four single beds - not what I had booked. There was a very bright flurescent light directly outside the window, left on overnight, with no curtains to block the light. It was brighter in the room at night than it was during the day.
- Tobeslinger (9/5): Superb - Really nice an clean, quite big rooms, lovely and helpful staff, good food in the Restaurant, very well maintained The Pool is quite chilled
- Martin (9/5): Superb - Friendly staff, secluded and great for a stay in Arusha. Great value for money.
- Neel (6/5): Pleasant - Super friendly staff! Restaurant was great, location was excellent. Really nice to have a great pool as well. And fantastic value for money. It's a stopover for tourists going between safaris. I was on a business trip which unfortunately meant that I was woken up super early in the morning by guests leaving on safari (the walls are super thin and sound really carries)
- Yvonne (8/5): Very good - friendly staff, pleasant garden setting with pool, large room with attractive decor, wifi in public areas. shower drain flooded half the bathroom floor!
- Amber (5/5): Good and comfortable - Our stay was good and comfortable. But the place is a bit dated and in my opinion a little pricey for what you get. We didn't have hot water for our shower or any internet working in our room. The food at the restaurant serves big portions (you could probably share most meals)
- Josef (9/5): When travelling to Arusha next time I will definitely first check if Outpost has availability! - Very friendly staff and great breakfast. All round good service.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aila (8/5): very nice and relaxing place - The breakfast was very good and the staff was very friendly and helpful plus they all spoke very good English.
The pool area is nice and the setting is full of beautiful plants. The sinks in the room only have very hot water and there is no wifi inside the rooms.
- Zoe (7/5): Lovely stay - Lovely welcoming staff. The rooms are quite basic but comfortable and a good shower. Pretty scenery too. Wi-Fi is not in the rooms so you have to sit at the bar if you want to sort anything out.
- Enrico (8/5): We spent one evening and the night here before to start our safari. The place is a corner of pace in the city. The rooms - The friendliness of the staff, the position and the restaurant
- Peter (7/5): Good -
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (9/5): Very good value for money. Very welcoming. - Restaurant was very good.
- Wang (8/5): Generally, a good experience. - The restaurant was good. The food tested good with very reasonable prices. The breakfast box prepared for us due to our early trip was very good. The safe box did not work in our room. The staff promised to fix it but he did not keep his word. Until we left, we could not use the safe box. No one came to fix it.
- Stacy (10/5): Wonderful atmosphere and people, great all around. - I have stayed at Outpost many times. The location is slightly outside town, but easy access. It is quieter than most areas of town. The pool is like ice but nice to sit on the edge of and watch other people freeze. Beds are comfortable, staff are wonderful and many have been here a long time, the restaurant has nice food and is a nice place to sit and work, there is quick laundry service (same day if early enough), pretty much everything is wonderful. I forgot my laundry last visit and they held it for a week for me. The gardens are beautiful and the property charming. Coming here is really like coming home for me. It is a great place for everyone except those who want to be centrally located in town. The only things I give a very slight markdown on (not enough to affect my rating) is that some of the rooms are in very good condition (windows work smoothly, etc), but others have some things that need fixing, like lever windows not closing, curtain rods not staying put. The other thing is that rooms close to reception may receive wifi signal, but those farther away do not. These inconveniences are usually pretty minor unless I need to use wifi at night.
- Anmalug (9/5): Beautiful gem - Beautiful location and grounds, very calm, staff was amazing I had difficulty adjusting the water temperature. Either it was scalding or freezing.
I stayed in a standard single room. The windows were not full windows so it was extremely cold all the time
