Guest Reviews
- Colin (7/5): Satisfactory - Tv is in an odd position
- Andrew (8/5): An ideal, quiet town-centre base - excellent value for money - The help yourself breakfast provided was thoughtful and well stocked - very useful to have the small fridge too. A very convenient and easy start to the day. Thank you.
- Newman (9/5): Convience - Comfortable very easy access comfortable and welcoming. Convience, value for money and a good breakfast for the price.i love these of in and out with a disabled husband. Will come again.
- Eirlys (10/5): Comfortable bed, cleanliness excellent and cozy, all on one level no stairs which is great for me. - I have stayed here many times and it is so welcoming, clean and comfortable.
Close to amenities and walks etc
Owners are very accommodating especially when I ask for a walking shower.
Last stay due to booking 2 days separately I was allowed to have the same room for the two days stay which was great and very much appreciated rather than book out of one room and have to wait to book back in for the other. Nothing to dislike everything is excellent
- Alison (9/5): We will be going back! - The breakfast was perfect and plentiful. The room had everything that we needed and the bed was very comfortable. The room location couldn't be better as it is tucked away and is quiet and peaceful; whilst everything is within walking distance. A small detail, the bedside lamps could be brighter as it was a little difficult to do some bedside reading.
- Teresa (10/5): Such a lovely place for a very reasonable cost . Will definitely stay again if we are in the area . Easy check in and - Beautiful property . Clean and comfortable . Very tastefully decorated . Nothing
- Mr A (7/5): -
- Janice (7/5): The accommodation was ideal for a short stop-over on a longer journey. - No staff on site if there was an immediate problem.
Breakfast in the room was basic but I’m not sure how this could be delivered better.
- John (9/5): - Stayed in room 1 for a couple of nights and the room was neat, compact and very clean. Having some breakfast cereals, fruit and milk and juice in a mini fridge was an extra bonus that most other room-only accommodations do not offer so was a nice touch. Slept well in a comfortable bed which gave a perfect start to explore the nearby towns, villages and countryside for which Curly Tails is an ideal base. Overall excellent value for money and would definitely recommend a stay.
- Gemma (8/5): -
- Emily (9/5): Great size room in the perfect spot - It’s the perfect stop over point for us and the room is a great size for our family of 4. We really like Bishops Castle and the pub. Nothing
- Jon (9/5): Perfect short stay accommodation. Owners very good with instructions and communication. 5 stars - Clean, tidy, warm. Great shower !
- Eirlys (10/5): Home from home, so comfortable. Breakfast for me just right as I don't always eat it a cooked one. - Stayed many times here. Feel home from home.
Owners very accommodating and friendly.
I had booked one night few hours later had to go back in to book a 2nd night not the same room but received message from owner to say he had put me to stay in the same room for two night so didn't need to change room, how thoughtful. Nothing all excellent
- Rob (8/5): Enjoyable and relaxing set in a lovely small town - The room was warm at all times with very hot water for a shower
- david (8/5): - Nice location. It was good value.
- Laura (10/5): -
- Lindsay (7/5): Fine - More comfortable than expected. Privacy, bath, kettle, clean , parking outside the door & a good bed. Breakfast !
- Michael (9/5): Will return - Everything Nothing
- Scott (10/5): Home from Home - loved it, here on business - SEE YOU NEXT YEAR - Fantastic place - home from home, warm and inviting. No issues.
- Eirlys (10/5): As usual exceptional facilities and comfortable stay. - As usual all excellent, stayed numerous times and feel safe as lone traveller.
You don't see staff but you know they've prepared room for you and messaged with instructions what room etc.
Now have electric charging car points. TV wasn't working with aerial but didn't mind as had internet to watch what I wanted, I'm not a big TV fan for digital programmes so I didn't mind.
- Michael (8/5): Great - We are looking at property in the area so this location is great for us and it’s clean and the complimentary tea milk buns Etc are so appreciated .
Everything was perfect THANK YOU Nothing ???
Maybe 2 wheatabix but really it’s great have already rebooked
- Dan (9/5): -
- trina (10/5): good - good
- Ebin (6/5): -
- Paula (1/5): Rubbish - No breakfast ,no toiletries manky towels won't even rate this property rude don't stay here Staying somewhere else
- vanessa (10/5): -
- John (8/5): tranquil rest in the countryside. - Had the family room and this had a bunk bed with a double at the bottom and a single on top and two other single beds. Plenty of space in the room. It was warm and cosy. The bathroom had a lovely shower within it and was well appointed. Car parking. The owner mentioned the places we could eat when we arrived and offered plates and knives and forks and so on the 2nd night requested these and these were supplied promptly. The car park was good but it might be awkward if more vehicles were parked. The shower had no curtain or door so it was making the floor wet. The was a breakfast but it consisted of one box of crunchy nut (or a wheatabix), a small croissant, a small apple and a cereal bar each, the 2nd morning the was also a small carton of juice.
- Tomasz (10/5): -
- Lackey (10/5): Fabulous property - Beautiful surroundings in incredible property with a friendly host with fanticatic rapid communication will definitely stay again What's not to like had an amazing stay at curly tail property
- Sarah (8/5): Comfy room, but lacking some attention to detail - Comfy room, plenty of space. Easy check in and out - key just left in door Lots of cobwebs
. The door hook in the bathroom was loose so you couldn't hang anything on it. The toilet roll holder was loose so the roll kept on falling off. Breakfast was not what we were expecting - a long life hazelnut croissant, a cereal bar, apple and an individual weetabix per person
- Michael (10/5): Excellent - Superb
- Margaret (10/5): Nice room, comfortable bed. - Very nicely decorated and comfortable.
- Joanna (8/5): - The room was absolutely lovely. Good location in town and negligible road noise. Lovely shower and clean. Loved the mini fridge. No physical contact at all with any staff.
- Wilson (8/5): - The accommodation was clean very well appointed in a good location no complaints about in regards to the to the place at all. The only minor problem was the check in, we didn't get the email in time for the check in procedure fortunately the cleaner was there. Please inform guests it's continental breakfast and also the hot water temperature needs to be reduced has it possible to get scolded , it was extremely hot.
- Eirlys (10/5): -
- Stewart (10/5): - Room was big and furnished to a high standard, great, central location
- Michael (8/5): - Comfortable bed, close parking, easy walk to the village. Only a small table for breakfast things, tiny fridge
- Dawkins (9/5): Ideal stopover. - Very clean, large room. Advert didn't make clear that included breakfast was cereal and croissant.
No windows, only roof light.
- Steven (9/5): - Great overnight stay. Clean, comfortable, in a good location and off-street parking. Everything ok, no complaints!
- Ruth (9/5): Lovely location, good facilities, comfy bed and spacious bathrooms. - Quiet, central location. Bedside lights too dim to read by, but moved a lamp in the room.
- Ann (10/5): Great for a 2 night stay. - The room layout (Room 1) was lovely and as expected. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and when we reported an issue that turned out to be beyond the owner's control during our stay we were immediately offered an alternative room. (It was being worked on just after we checked out). Our dog seemed to like it too. It was a bit of a shame that it's no longer a working pub, but the food at Ganges Balti was good, and the food and beer at the Castle was excellent as was the beer at the Six Bells which is closer. Some shops in the town have odd opening hours, but that didn't impact our stay. We particularly liked the Poetry Pharmacy and it's cosy cafe.
- Philippa (8/5): Comfortable, everything you need - Great room N/A
- Christopher (8/5): -
- Raffaele (9/5): Una bella scoperta! - Posizione, ampiezza della camera, qualità degli arredi, pulizia Sulla colazione si potrebbe fare qualcosa di più
- Helen (9/5): Lovely stop on a long journey - Spacious family room, parking right outside room, clean, Friendly host.
Lovely pub with fantastic beer garden just up the road. All great.
- Kieran (7/5): Good - A bit disappointed that it is still being advertised as being attached to a pub. The pub is closed ☹️.
- Ross (3/5): Poor - bedroom stained bath mat
cobwebs in bathroom
filthy kettle covered in limescale
poor breakfast
cheap loo seat
bathroom floor unfinished
- Watson (10/5): If you are in the area of Curry Tail accommodation, I would HIGHLY recommend you using curly accommodation for your stay - The room was very clean and comfortable for myself and daughter and niece.
Thank You Nothing, it was perfect.
Thank You!!!
- Karl (10/5): Excellent accommodation, would definitely recommend - Clean & comfortable, nice quiet location. Nothing
- James (7/5): Good - Good Location, comfortable and clean. Fridge very small and not much use.
Not a great fan of " breakfast on go".
- Hefin (9/5): Superb - Lovely spacious room and bathroom.clean and comfy bed. The milk for the breakfast to go was skimmed milk, spoilt my cornflakes :-(
- Dan (10/5): Exceptional - Room is a lot bigger than it looks in the picture and the beds are super comfortable
Breakfast was nice, cereals and fresh milk, and being able to park right outside and walk through the village was great
- Ian (9/5): A quiet and relaxing 3 day break - It was very comfortable, quiet and had everything we needed in the way of continental breakfast and tea and coffee No dislikes
- Smith (8/5): Very good - Location. Parking. Comfortable room. Nothing
- Louise (10/5): Perfect for our little stop over, room on point and cute location! - Everything you could want in a stay, real nice touches with the on the go breakfast and mini fridge !
- Colin (7/5): Good - Location is great, situated on the Shropshire Way footpath - Bishop's Castle is a very quirky drover's village - no 2 houses are the same - a village of pubs and churches, apparently in it's height it had 46 public houses and parlour pubs! The Boar's Head Pub is now closed so breakfast is described as "breakfast to go" consisting of instant coffee with UHT milk, cornflakes, an inedible pre-packed croissant and an apple - luckily there is a Spar grocers across the road with a Costa coffee.
The flatscreen TV couldn't get and BBC channel .
The terraced garden view in the description was actually the pub car park although didn't choose the accommodation for a terraced garden
- Kim (10/5): What an Amazing place - The place was amazing, the bed so so, comfy, we were late due to family illness & they arranged for a later check in amazing ! The description on the booking app is incorrect. It doesn't get you to the property. It should show onto Station Street. Accommodation is behind the Boards Head pub. Otherwise, like us, you will be driving up & down Church Street for over 10 mins
- Anne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katie (10/5): Great facilities and very good value. - A fabulous room with plenty of space, and having the parking right outside the door was really helpful for me. I felt it was really good value. I was woken by people in the room next door talking, so the soundproofing between rooms may not be the best.
- Patrick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brian (9/5): Comfortable and conveniently situated - The room was comfortable and well equipped, and very conveniently situated. I was able to park outside the room which was very helpful.
- Dipeshkumar (9/5): Excellent place to stay for couple of nights - Location and cleanliness
- Duncan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marsh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thelma (10/5): Lovely mini break - highly recommend - Location , nice touches , wood , picture , comfy, chilled places bed, breakfast ,bath ,parking , great cycling country, good fish and chip shop , helpful host, great price No glasses - so improvised - first time ever - cups of wine lol
- Ramon (8/5): Good base for exploring the area - Good location in the middle of town with plenty of interesting shops, plus Spar and CoOp, nearby. Parking no problem outside the door of the property in an off street courtyard. Handy table and bench outside the door for sitting in the sun. No cooking facilities but can recommend The Castle Hotel at the top of the hill. Lovely garden behind it and friendly staff with good food. Really nothing much. There could have been some more light by the tea and coffee area but no real problem.
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eirlys (10/5): Home from home. - Location good, close to amenities.
Breakfast just right, I'm not a person for cooked breakfast especially when working so just right. Nothing
- Tony (8/5): Nice place to stay - Excellent location, comfortable and clean, well decorated The fridge was minuscule - having heard a fridge mentioned, I was assuming there would be space to put in a small bottle of wine. Also a couple of glasses in the room would have been nice.
- Barry (9/5): Good base for a couple of nights - Everything was as advertised. The room was quiet and comfortable and was warm overnight despite the outside temperature dropping to - 2c. Would stay again if in area. Nothing.
- Janet (8/5): Very good - Space, location, parking, great tiled floor etc for dogs so no worries there. Hot water exceptional. Very comfy bed. Warm. Being a bit picky...would like a good sized mug for tea!
- Stephen (10/5): A real nice place, very comfortable and would happily book again.... - Room was clean and tidy, staff were very friendly . Would highly recommend. No issues to report.
- Alan (8/5): Very good -
- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janet (9/5): Good value for money in a warm and comfortable bedroom. - It was very comfortable and lovely and warm on what was a very cold and icy evening. It is a stones throw to the mail street and the local pubs are an easy walk to source an evening meal. The breakfast snacks were ideal for those who needed them but we ventured to Herbies cafe just off the high street for a most excellent breakfast.
We would definitely stay there again.

Room warm and cozy especially on a cold dark night.
I pulled up outside my room to see light on inside for me and curtains closed, opened the door into the hallway and then door into bedroom lovely and warm soo welcoming and a bedside light on and curtains drawn, lovely, home from home. Nothing really
I logged this time on to my Ipad wifi and watched a movies in bed GREAT. TV does play up but I didn't mind.
- Philip (9/5): Superb -
- Jon (10/5): Exceptional - Character filled, comfortable & cosy. A very small niggle, the mini fridge wasn't switched on. So the milk wasn't cold.

- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stacey (8/5): Very good -
- Arlene (9/5): Lovely stay in a quaint village or small town - The proprietor accommodated my request for iron and ironing board. The room has its own door to the outside and we parked our car just outside our door/room. It was a very good find as this was bang in the middle of the quaint town with interesting old buildings and grocery nearby. Good value with some minimal wants. Good place to break a long journey - very clean, comfortable ed with reasonable heating. Good place to hang wet coats The television kept getting pixelated and too near with the chairs. I wished that the teabags were not exposed. The table in the corner is not big enough for two people. The wifi kept kicking me our…
