Guest Reviews
- Bryan (10/5): - Super smooth experience
- Robert (8/5): - We got to see a bear in the parking lot.
- Rachelle Ann (6/5): - Had complication checkin in due to property not having any staff on property. Check in was supposed to be self check in via Was supposed to get a code for the door via text, but never received a text. Had to call the hotel for help and someone came to help me and other guests who were having the same problems.
- Kristine (6/5): - Clean bedding and sheets would have been nice. We had to put T-shirts over the pillows because they smelled like body odor. The sheets and pillow cases were wrinkled. Bedding was dingy and had a brown hue suggesting they haven’t been cleaned in who knows how long. I’ve been wanting to try this place as I frequent the area for skiing and work, but was sadly disappointed at the condition of the bed, which is essentially the most important part of travel accommodations. The check-in was a breeze though and extremely efficient and no fuss. The TV was one of the best I’ve experienced-it was super clear and we got the football games; a plus since I’ve never been able to get NFL games at the places I’ve stayed in SLT.
- april (4/5): - room is extremely old and dated furnishings. Are Walmart quality very cold room we could not get the heater to turn on limited towels just very cheap could hear people in the room above us in their room on the side of us talking. I don’t really have anything good to say other than it was very easy to check in and check out
- Allan (4/5): Review - Not a good value for what you got. Air condition was noisy bathroom was dirty you had to go through a weird door to get to the room. There was a coffee maker but no pot.
- Galen (2/5): - This place was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. The room was filthy — stained sheets, sticky floors, and a bathroom that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. The staff were rude, dismissive, and completely uninterested in helping with even the simplest requests. The so-called “amenities” were either broken or nonexistent, and the noise level at night was unbearable. I wouldn’t wish a stay here on my worst enemy. Save yourself the money and the misery — there are plenty of better places to stay
- David (10/5): - Very easy
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great price and great location. No frills. A little run down. Near everything. Quite and bed was comfy
- Harold (10/5): - Easy, comfortable room!
- Lauren (6/5): - Stay was good. You’re able to get
- Geoffrey (10/5): - Exactly as described. Newly renovated room interior was nice.
- Jake (6/5): - Wouldn't stay here again. First room they gave us had crumbs on bed, we thought maybe just on outside so we pulled back covers and there was food crumbs, hair, and a plastic part of fork and some kind of pin. Sheets clearly not washed. We called and manager apologized and immediately put us in another room. That room was better. However the air-conditioner leaked all over the floor, so did the fridge. We had to use our towels for that and only have 1 each to ourselves. The shower had no water pressure either it sucked. The room itself was spacious, nice bed, newer decor. If it wasn't cheapest room we could find we would have stayed somewhere else. Easy check in/out process and quick response to my issues. But wet floor and crappy water pressure was deal breaker.
- Barry (6/5): Good location, but overpriced. - We chose this hotel because it’s a short walk from the Harvey’s concert venue and it had three beds in the room (there were three of us on this trip).
All communication was done virtually. There was zero human interaction, which felt odd and impersonal. The room was a good size, but was basic. For $200+ per night (after tax), we expected more.
- IAN (6/5): - Good things:
- when I found out that our room was on the second floor, and I phoned the hotel to see if they could change it to a 1st floor room (because I have problems with stairs) they were very helpful.
Bad things:
- The front desk was totally unmanned
- Patrick (8/5): - Excellent location, great bang for your buck, walkable to beach and main area of downtown. Stayed 1 night and was ideal for our situation. Outside is a bit weathered, but rooms were clean and tidy. Only issue was tap in bathtub was a bit wonky.
- Japkirat (6/5): - The per night rate was great, property had a EV charger so that was a huge plus, the room wasn’t cleaned out which made the experience bitter.
- Moises (8/5): - Good place for families.
- Heather (10/5): - Close to activities
- yasmin (2/5): Dirty Room, bad service - Huge safety issue with the door lock missing screws on both sides, broken latch to lock the door and i was given a DIRTY room. I was told by the manager at 4:30p that our room wasn't ready and i could either wait until she got to our room because the cleaners didn't show up, or i could drive around and come back later..well it wasn't ready even after 6pm. When we finally get inside after calling and leaving a message on the hotels doorbell ring camera to get the key because our room wasn't keyless and No One was on site i received a message on how to get the key, and our room hadn't been cleaned at all. Dirty bed covers, All mirrors had fingerprints and the one over the sink had toothpaste splatter, dirty toilet, dirty tub, the shower curtain had a horrible smell, the microwave was dirty and missing a knob, the fridge was dirty on the outside and inside it had some sticky brown stuff, and even the window blinds had stains. When i called the manager she said she had cleaned it herself and she was sorry it wasn't up to my standards. After telling her i had taken pictures of how dirty it was she said she could clean it "again" the next day because she wasn't on site anymore or we could cancel the room and said the door wasn't a safety issues at all...unfortunately i was unable to cancel and i had to clean the room myself(Toilet, tub, restroom floor, microwave and fridge) and used our OWN blankets and sheets to cover all the beds to be able to sleep on.
- Claire (10/5): - Very easy checkin and clean property. Convenient location.
- James (10/5): Great find in Tahoe - Great boutique style hotel in South Lake Tahoe. Second visit to this hotel. Definitely seems nicer than the other non-casino option. Also comes with a beach access pass. Amazingly easy check-in via a text message with a door code. There is a reason this place is rated so much higher than the comparable nearby hotels.
- Chun (4/5): - I was so disappointed about the quality of the bed. The bed spring was horrible and you could see the bed was sunken like there was a dent or some sort of empty space in between. It was too late when I saw the bed and I just slept on it. The room has weird smell and I had to open the window for a long time which helped a little. The location was great but I won’t go back there again.
- Jeff (4/5): Pushy Cleaners !!! - Nice for the price, didn’t expect cleaning crew to knock on doors at 9:30 to wake guests up when check out is at 11:00
Trying to get people out of the rooms so they can clean and get off of work sooner.
- Dawn (10/5): Very clean - Room was very clean. Parking lot is small but found a space. I would stay here again.
- Heather (10/5): - Great hotel close to the concert. will definitely stay again.
- Andrea (2/5): - There was confusion over the reservation. We did not get the check in information until about 6:00 PM. Since I had talked to the manager and she had said that we would hear between 3:00 and 4:00 PM, I assumed that we did not have a room. We checked in elsewhere.
- Shannon (8/5): Best Deal in South Lake - We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel! The keyless entry was easy, parking was easy, room was big and clean, bed comfortable, location is wonderful, and you can’t beat the price! We will return!
- Giuseppe (10/5): - All good
- Abraham (8/5): - The property is a block away from the main highway in Tahoe. Close to casinos, restaurants and shops.
- Ross (6/5): - Good location, easy check in. Affordable price and fairly clean
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Avoid this place if at all possible! Unstaffed hotel and completely unresponsive to calls/email.
Even though all requested information was submitted prior to arrival, never received any response or room number/key code by the evening of check-in.
Of course no employee was present on site, nor was there any answer or response to repeated calls and emails. Spoke to a guest staying there who told me multiple people had run into the same issue and that the rooms were very dirty. Also, there had been no response to requests to have the rooms cleaned.
In the end, 4 hours were wasted attempting to contact someone, and, ultimately, reaching out to customer support with Hotels.com for assistance in resolving the matter, and finding another place to stay for the night.
- Jocelyn (6/5): - Got the job done but place needs a bit of TLC real bad!
- Linda (10/5): Great location. - Check in was nice, the manager happened to be there and checked me in. There is a code to get into the room. The room was walking distance to the lake and Golf course as well as restaurants/other. My room had two queen beds but with the positioning of one of the beds, it was difficult to see the television. The shower head was nice, I would stay there again.
- Emanuel (2/5): - Check in was horrendous. Manager seemed drunk. Was there at 345pm couldnt get in room till after 515pm. Checkin was ridiculously un organized. Manager lied. Finally got in to our room but missed our reservation at dinner. Bathroom door was broke. Bathroom shower door was broken and wouldnt close. Mirrors were fealthy. Floor was fealthy. I have all pictures too. I eish there was a minus star rating.
- KC** (10/5): - Location clean, nice size room with 3 queen beds
- John (2/5): - Check in info came 4 hours late. Room did not lock from outside
- Stephen (10/5): Travelling Australians - Good place to visit the lake, night-life available. Bed was clean and comfortable. Old style motel with small rooms. Limited paring spaces. No breakfast, but room had coffee and microwave. Was fine for overnight.
- Alicia (10/5): Book it - Exceptional rooms for the price offered. Nicely kept And quiet. Close to everything!
- Julia (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay! The room was very spacious and it’s located within super easy walking distance to state line, restaurants, and shops! I’ll definitely book here again.
- Emily (6/5): - Very nice staff!! I did ask for beach access and housekeeping but didn't get it. Had to walk around with socks or shoes on the floor and when we needed more towels they were hard to find. Didn’t love not having a front desk. Overall safe and convenient great walk to casinos great location
- Murray (8/5): - Staff not on site full time. More of a self-serve situation. That being said, if you are a low maintenance lodger, this place is quite lovely if a bit older.
- Alan (4/5): - Couldn't get in room, lock box wasn't updated to correct day, tv hasn't our whole time at room.
We never stay here again.
- Mary (10/5): Great experience at the Lake Ridge Hotel - This hotel was an unexpected treasure! It was close to everything! It was clean and spacious! The staff (Lauren in the office) was a great communicator and was very pleasant and helpful! We will return again!
- Vinay (4/5): - There were 2 wet towels left hanging on the back of the bathroom door. And there was water leaking either from the bat tub or the toilet.
- Roberto (8/5): - The hotel is great for the value! It's very close to the casinos and all the touristy shopping stuff. It's also walkable to the beach. The nearby "Lakeside" beach is private and the hotel provides vouchers that let's their guests access that private beach for a cheaper cost. They sometimes sell out to the general public so this voucher guarantees your entry. The beach is about 3 blocks away. Took me and my gf about 10 min to get there. Very easy flat walk along the road of the other hotels so it's very safe and walkable. We walked there with a wagon and backpacks full of beach stuff with no issues. No need to drive there unless you're extremely lazy. We forgot some chips in our room and I was able to walk back to get them no problem. The hotel is older so property could use some upgrades and cleaning but it's honestly not bad. I usually stay in "nice" hotels and thought this was fine and comfortable enough. I would stay here again. I liked the self check in. No waiting to be helped by front desk. There was no daily room service but I didn't mind. The room was MUCH bigger than I expected so that was nice. We went on 4th of July so there was tons of college kids partying around the whole area. It was loud at times but nothing that bad in my opinion. Everything you quiet by 10 or so. Parking was free and there was always a spot available when we returned after being out. Wifi was good. Water was good. Mini fridge and microwave were nice to have..mini fridge got nice and cold!
- Laidy-April (8/5): - I like the check-in. It was quick. The location is very convenient. It’s very close to everything. The room is not the greatest but it was clean and decent size. Overall, great value for the price.
- Manuel (10/5): - Over expectations.
- Hardik (10/5): Good hotel in best price. - Accommodated early Check-in.
Good staff, clean rooms.
- Linda (8/5): - PRO: The great thing about this hotel was that it was very close to the Caesar outdoor arena, about a 5 minute walk. Even walking to the hotel at 10pm felt safe.
CONS: The hotel is dated, but the room we had was spacious. Even though the vanity area was very small for 4 women sharing it we managed. It would've been nice to have extra towels, hand towels and wash cloths. We also noticed the floor felt gritty so we kept our shoes on. The parking lot had a tight entrance so we parked in the spaces in front of the hotel.
- Kimberly (6/5): - The staff was very accommodating and helpful which I liked, however the floors were super dirty and I had to wear slippers to keep my feet clean since there was dirt and dust! I also did not have any towels and the shower was still dirty and wet when I first arrived to my room, luckily the manager was able to quickly bring towels to the room and replace a lamp that did not light as well. The room itself was fine, all the staff was great and helpful.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not horrible but could be a little better - It gets the job done for the price. It seems like there has been a recent attempt at renovation, but there are a few simple things they could do to improve it.
Number one is to replace those awful cold-white LED light bulbs with the warmer color-temperature versions. Seems minor, but it felt like I was in a cafeteria.
In my room, the heater ran constantly and could not be turned off (211) so the AC had to be continuously run to make the temp comfortable.
And the floors were sticky.
All these things seem easy to fix, but then again, it was ok for the price. Maybe.
- Candy (10/5): - Spacious rooms with 2 queen beds at an affordable price!
- Nichole (10/5): - Great experience
- Andrew (2/5): - We arrived later in the evening to check-in (7pm for a 4pm check-in time)
The property provided a code to open the door of the room which worked out fine. However, when I entered the room, housekeeping had left without finishing. There was a bag of trash on the counter along with a spray bottle of cleaner. No toiletries or toilet paper in the bathroom. There’s no one at the front desk so I had to call a number. Thankfully they answered (this time). The person was apologetic that the cleaning staff had not finished but had left for the day. I was given instructions to the supply closet to get my own toiletries and dispose of the garbage. The woman on the phone said I would receive a discount but I haven’t seen that appear via Expedia.
2 days later I reached out repeatedly about the possibility of getting a late checkout time both calling the same number and texting because there was no one at the front desk all weekend. No response at all.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The property itself was tucked back in a small area, with very little parking. But it seemed to be a nice quiet area. The room was large and very comfortable, the beds were great and we had plenty of space for our family. There were a few housekeeping issues we noticed on arrival. The "Contactless Check-in" was easy, but it was quite frustrating that there was nobody onsite to talk to when we needed something. Luckily the off-site manager helped rectify our problem as much as she could, after our stay. She was very helpful. It just took a little work to get a hold of an actual person.
- Brian (10/5): - Rooms were Clean, Self Check In Process was pretty straightforward. Loved how it was walking distance from everything. For the price, well worth it and would stay again!
- Angela (6/5): - It was nice and not gross. There was hair all over our hotel when we got there like the floors had not been cleaned at all hard to see in the pictures but there was gunk all over the floor. and the shower does not have a door or curtain of any sort which means the whole bathroom floor ends up soaked. They do not supply a bath Matt to even soak the water up with. If you plan on having multiple people using the bathroom at once like someone getting ready and someone showering I’d think again unless you want to be soaked after. Other than that it was quiet and not gross with like bugs or anything just whoever cleaned it for us didnt do a great job
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I feel for the amount we paid for our stay was more than needed for this place. If you don't mind lack of hotel staff and not so clean rooms, this place is for you. All linen was worn and had brown stains on them.
- Dennis (10/5): - Parking is a little tough late at night.
- Angelica (10/5): - The price was right! Perfect distance to the heavenly shopping center.
- Emanuel (10/5): - Convenient nice awesome
- Stephanie (6/5): - The check in process was a little bit of a hassle. It’s contactless check in. When I tried to check in through their link it kept telling me I was using the wrong card. But I wasn’t. When I got there I couldn’t find anyone who worked there. Luckily after walking around the property I found the manager (who was so nice) and told me it was an Expedia glitch? But she had my reservation and let me in. I never saw her again through my stay and they didn’t answer the phones so if I hadn’t found her idk what I would’ve done. I ran into a couple other people in the parking lot throughout my trip that seemed to be having similar issues.
Pros: Good location. Decent rooms. Nice employee. The keyless entry is nice.
Cons: The room was a little dirty with old food on top of the fridge and hair in the shower. Check in process isn’t very efficient. There’s an extra $150 fee when you check in for damages. You get it back (I still haven’t though) but it took a big hit out of my daily budget. I didn’t see anything about the fee until the morning of in their text. My neighbor said the same thing.
The room was comfortable but I am not sure I’d stay again because the check in process makes me nervous. I don’t want to end up stuck with no where to go because my check in on the website isn’t working.
- Jose (6/5): - Wasn’t any good and no clean
- Kyle (6/5): - It was quaint and convenient and nice clean didn’t have a shower curtain or extra towels as stated but otherwise it was nice
- Hari (4/5): - Very poorly Maintanence and not clean at all. Will not recommend
- Jennifer (8/5): - Small 2 story motel with updated interior, tasteful furnishings and no carpet. The fridge has a separate freezer that kept our ice packs and breakfast sandwiches frozen. Beds were clean and comfortable. Being on the first floor we heard some creaking from the upstairs neighbors walking around and occasional rushing water but it was not disruptive. Walkable to the casinos and lake. Closest beach is private charging $30 for adults and $20 for kids but you can get vouchers from the motel for only $5 per person.
- Sonal (6/5): - There was no staff on site to help us with the empty coffee cups. The check in was seamless as they texted the room code before we arrived.
- Christine and Scott (10/5): - No frills hotel that was solid for a night stay. Bed was super comfy (foam mattress). You get access to the beach + there was a nice restaurant at the hotel next store we had wonderful breakfast at (Maggies) on the patio. The only downside was a flickering light right outside our door.
- Logan (2/5): - No toilet paper or trash bags, room was very unclean, bathroom smelled weird. Smoke detector was nowhere to be found.
- tammie (8/5): - This hotel has a few 3 queen bed rooms as necessity when traveling with my family. We booked a 3 bed room but on our 1st night the only one they had was
- armando (10/5): - Nice comfortable to stay,. Upgraded rooms
- Paul (8/5): ROAD TRIP - WENT ON A TRIP FOR THE WEAKEND THIS PLACE WAS CHEAP, COMPTURBOL AND CONVINENT
- David (10/5): - The check-in process was very easy. Everything is online and I was able to get all information pertaining to my room the day of my check-in. Lauren was a very nice host. She was informative and personable and answered any question I had.
- Roland (8/5): - Everything was just fine, no complaints.
- Edward (10/5): - This is a great place to set down your gear and enjoy the city on foot. We're definitely coming back.
- Griselda (4/5): Check in nightmare. - This hotel requires to check in via an email that will provide door code for your room. Check in is at 4PM. I had two rooms booked and by 7pm only one room was ready and zero communication from the hotel. Keep in mind no one man’s the lobby.
- Citta (8/5): - It was spacious.
- Emma (10/5): - Basic, but for the price and location it’s a great deal!
- Priyanka (8/5): - Had a nice stay. Rooms are clean but there was some mold in the bathroom ceiling. Lots of dining options, gas and shopping close by. Easy parking and felt safe.
- Maryruth (10/5): - Clean, easy check in
- Jennifer (10/5): Best bed hands down! - Didn’t get the door code, so checking in was delayed for a couple of hours. But once we were in, the room was very spacious with a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The bathroom was pretty standard, sink was nice. There was a small open closet to hang clothes, and an ironing board was provided. There was a small table and two chairs in the room to eat at, plus a little bar where the coffee maker was with two barstools to sit at. The room was furnished contemporarily. We both agreed it was the most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept on! The room was very quiet. Best part was free parking and walking distance to the casinos, the beach, and Heavenly! Will definitely stay again!
- Jennifer (10/5): - It’s code to everything around and the room is big.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The bathroom reeked of a urine smell.
- robert (8/5): Lake Ridge Hotel - Room was very clean Has refrigerator and microwave and everything you need. The manager was considerate and helpful. Stay was quiet and peaceful. The price is very fair. Location is very close to casinos in S. Lake Tahoe. I will use this hotel again.
- Lacey (10/5): - I reserved a room, for one night at the Lake Ridge Hotel for a last-minute trip to South Lake Tahoe to celebrate my spouse’s birthday. This hotel was the lowest priced room for all of the right reasons - it doesn't have bells and whistles. This is a very “standard” hotel, but a very comfortable place for a good nights sleep or to take a break while exploring Tahoe. The room had a very “homey” feel that my husband and I both appreciated. Conveniently located in between the Heavenly shoppes and the casinos. We are guaranteed to return and would recommend this location.
- Manuel (10/5): - Very accommodating
- Maryse (6/5): - Unfortunately we couldn't sleep all night!
The outside air conditioning from our neighbor was terrible noisy! 50 decibels inside our room!
Try to reach the staff, but nobody answer. Hope to get reimbursed!
- Victoria (10/5): - Absolutely loved the area and room! Contactless made it super easy to get to the room. Will definitely be back 🙂
- Meredith (8/5): - They were very accommodating to get me in to the room early. Spacious room with everything we needed at a great price.
- Betsy (10/5): - Nice big room and close to lots of dining, shopping, and larger hotels. Clean property and when contacted the staff was very helpful.
- Michelle (8/5): - The contactless check-in was easy and convenient. Good location to walk to lake or to dining options.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We were on a family trip. We arrived there very late. past 1 am. the staff was very helpful and we got in safely and got a good night sleep.
- Joseph (10/5): - seemed recently remodeled, clean & comfortable.
- Guillermo (10/5): Nice hotel - We had a great experience staying in this hotel.
- Eric (8/5): - Lake Ridge was just what I expected. No bells and whistles but a great comfortable place with easy walkable access to the Heavenly Gondola. Room was simple but clean with good beds and quiet.
- Max (8/5): - Convenient location, walking distance to Heavenly and casinos. Room simple but clean . Only complaint was noisy metal bedframe ( hard too) and very noisy fridge . Other that great
- Jillian (10/5): - Nice place .
- Anh (10/5): - very good
- Jamie (8/5): - It was very easy to get checked in, the room was clean, and it is walkable to state line which is win!
