Guest Reviews
- Donald (6/5): - Clean rooms and friendly staff. The breakfast buffet was very limited.
- Kevin (8/5): - Staff was nice and helpful, walkable
- Ramiro (4/5): - Untruthful
- juanpasalazar2019 (2/5): Lot of noise. Poor food. Pool with terrible music. Not for rest - The check in process was very old fashioned, full of restrictions, very bad attentions and nothing attractive. When you arrive inmesdiately they make you fell bad. They force you to wear an ugly bracelet and signature a restriction and threatening measures...
The rooms are just good .with very low quality ammenities, terrible pillows.
The pool is good but they put terrible music. Loud and nothing relaxing music. pero rest in the pool.
Food is poor, with small portions, and low quality. You feel like in the army but with less food. You are treated bad if you ask for more.
There is a plenty of noise in the building
Whether a construction on site in Saturday morning or the cleaning lady talking loud and screaming jokes to the others cleaning team. They scream and talk loud no matter if you want to rest.
The hotel it's expensive for what they offer. You can't rest. You are not in peace here.
- sergiog_13 (2/5): looks great in pictures not as good in real life... - Horrible customer service! tiny cheap rooms! I found the vibe of the place substandard. first time in my life that a hotel asked me to buy "insurance" to stay there and If I declined, I needed to sign a liability waiver! WTF!
I booked the Hotel for 2 nights 2 guests per night the second day my friend had to leave, and I asked to add a different person to the room, and they refused! said once you check in with one guest any changes count as additional, and the fee was almost as much as the room cost per night! I actually did not even stay the second night! I decided to lose that night's cost and just went to another hotel! I've traveled for years, and this hotel seems to think they are the last bottle of water in a desert! never again!!!!!
- J5497OXjohnj (2/5): Avoid this place - Pictures look good but the room itself on 3rd floor was not that great , small, basic, not much view, does have decent pool and breakfast area, but that is not my complain.
Last year when i booked the room for two people, however, when my girlfriend joined me they gave her really hard time, i agree with id check and she had paper only but their whole issue was that they wanted to charge a lot for extra person in my room even if i booked for two and we were two.
The staff insulted her, they were really rude, she was in tears, i was ready to walk out.
I offer to pay little extra but still they were rude.
They had me spend over an hour sorting out calling their manager, discussion all the time we were getting frustrated.
Thier guest policy is very bad, they even said they would not allow my family in my room, something i never heard off.
Avoid this hotel and in general check and make sure the guest and or your girlfriend\boyfriend are allowed in the room before booking
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff were simply great. The breakfast was ok and it could have used some variety but overall I would stay here again.
- tramontana44 (10/5): Perfect Situation - The hotel is situated in a quiet street just yards away from all the “life” of Rodadero.
Very new hotel, clean, tidy with spacious en-suite rooms and has a superb rooftop swimming pool. Good choice for breakfast. The staff were all very pleasant, especially the lady who supervised the breakfast area. Only 5 minutes from the beach.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and recommend this hotel.
- David (10/5): Excellent Value - The hotel is in a quiet street, away from the noise and bustle. All the staff were very pleasant and professional. The breakfast and the breakfast area was very nice indeed.
- Adriana Marcela (8/5): - BIEN MUY BUEN SERVICIO
- KhrissPhoenix (4/5): Poor service - The rooms are neat and the cleaning personnel excellent.
The administrative and the restaurant staff not good at all though.
They do not render the services on time (locked box, rooms assignation as agreed, the food may be spoiled, etc). And they may even lie to you about it and give you excuses once they do not deliver, sometimes blaming on you.
Although not at the beach, and the sea can only be seen from the upper floors (where the pool is), is well located in El Rodadero, near the commercial zone.
- Ariel (4/5): My stay was not worst the money I paid. - Elevator carpet need to be changed.
Breadfast was not good
The reception area was hot.(not A/C)
Swimming pool was not available. ( they have it closed for a private party)
- Alejandro (8/5): - La comida aunque es tipo bufet, es poco variada y la fruta pobre en oferta y limitada en cantidad
- WhrThFkAmi (10/5): Fantastic Staff, clean, comfortable and economical. Great Value. - A very enjoyable experience. Clean, friendly helpful staff, just a touch (2 short blocks) out of centro in a nice quiet street, 3 blocks from the beach. I would recommend this as as being as good a value as your going to get with pool, restaurant, cable and restaurant.
- rwr1226 (6/5): Nice enough but small room - This property is only about four blocks walking from Rodadero Beach. It is not exception but is suitable. The rooms are small and the bathrooms small. The breakfast buffet is very basic, eggs, juice and fruit. One thing, if you like hot showers, this place is excellent, unlike many of the other places I have stayed in Santa Marta.
- maurogm966 (8/5): Ni más ni menos - OK - I went with my wife the week Of feb 22 to the 27 the hotel is nice not the Hilton but just what you need a bed an a/c and a small fridge no hot water but you don't need it tv we got a room with a balcony the hotel has a pool but it closes at 7 pm the food is is good but small portions so if you eat a lot they got subway nearby dominoes and a supermarket so the nice thing is everything is walking distance from the hotel the staff is nice the only rude person is the night time receptionist overall a ok hotel for 75 us if you plan to not leave the hotel they have some nice ones on the beach but we just went to sleep a 2 blocks from the beach
- LeoC381 (6/5): Vacation 2016 - I would give this hotel a 3 star. It's nice inside by the pool and the restaurant is very clean. The rooms are small ( they do have a/c) the food is good but it's not buffet. They actually serve the food on your plate. What you get and that's it. I guess you get what you pay for. Also no hot water. Lol I know it's like 95 why would you need hot water? If you purchase any park tickets you get picked up at 6 am and when the a/c is on the room gets chilly. Lol anyway personal opinion. Would I stay there again? Yes if I was short on cash yes I would.
- Samantha_suzanne (8/5): V comfortable, modern hotel - one of the best Rodadero options - We stayed here for four nights and had a great time. Modern ensuite rooms with minibar, AC, TV and balcony. Beds are super comfy. Rooms are small but we had enough space. We weren't disturbed at all by the bar/disco in front. Really nice swimming pool of a good size and pleasant, roomy communal areas. Service was very good. The only thing that we would improve is the breakfast - the eggs were too runny and cold. But overall this is definitely one of the best, reasonably-priced hotels in Rodadero. We would definitely stay here again.
- 184nielss (4/5): Ideal Location in need for maintenance - Staff is friendly at this hotel. The only major disadvantage is that this hotel is lacking maintenance. The airconditioning was moldy and the rosters missing. Bathroom was moldy and rusty. Overall, not really worth the stay.
If you were just looking for a cheap place close to the nightlife area and just look to crash it might work. Otherwise, don't bother.
- waterski1230 (2/5): Awful ! Just say no to this place - We recently stayed at the Hotel Tayrona for an evening around Christmas. We typically stay at a hotel right on the beach in Santa Marta, but that was booked so we thought we'd try Hotel Tayrona. Terrible terrible terrible place! First we were given a ground floor room with literally no windows, which would be illegal in the USA. When we complained, the front desk manager argued belligerently with us for about 15 minutes before he acquiesced and gave us a room that actually had windows. This room, which cost 2 times as much, had paper thin curtains which let the light at least 80% through. The window that went to the balcony didn't lock, the bathroom had no cups/glasses, and the toilet didn't work. The Wifi didn't work either. Pretty sure more things didn't work than things that did work. To add insult to injury, we actually got double charged for the experience - still haven't figured out if that was due to the website we used, or if the hotel decided to pull a fast one.
One final note - there is a restaurant/disco across the street that apparently plays loud music every night until midnight. So don't plan on sleeping until after that.
My advice - just sleep on the beach. Its free and you'll probably have a better time.
