Host greeted us upon arrival, helped escort us to our rooms. Very quiet property. We ate dinner out based on Hosts recommendation and it was very good. Beautiful home - wish we had more time to stay and enjoy it but we were on a tight time frame. Breakfast was just right. Bed was comfortable - had a good nights sleep. Booked through booking.com and I think all I received was one confirmation email with very little info on it. It provided no check in information, not even sure if it provided the address. It gave me a confirmation # and a PIN but no further emails with info.

• susanaF1599LK (10/5): MY 1912 B&B EXPERIENCE - 10 OUT OF 10 STARS - 1912 B&B is exceptional in every way. My husband and I have been enjoying the Bed & Breakfast experience for many years and prefer B&B's to popular hotel chains. After reviewing the site and having read reviews by former guests we decided to book 1912. We live in Charleston, so Sumter is only a 90-minute drive from home. The house, the grounds, the suites were all beyond expectation and after a good night's rest and delicious breakfast my husband and I rate it 10 out of 10 stars. The stars primarily being contributed to the awesome owners/hosts who have brought the residence back to life, Tracey and Tommy. Both so charming and welcoming, making 1912 truly a home away from home. I simply can't recommend any B&B that I've experienced as high as 1912. There are four suites, each distinctively unique and lovely. We stayed in "Spring". This is a large bedroom with King bed, a large, well-appointed ensuite and private access to the second-floor balcony where we enjoyed afternoon tea and the fresh air. The balcony stretches the full width of the house. After one night's stay, we booked a future visit in the "Romance" Suite. I'm pretty certain that we'll manage to stay in all four suites in due time. Don't be concerned about safety as the location has a first-rate security system. Security along with fastidious housekeeping are top priorities and are certainly apparent upon arrival. Not only is 1912 awesome, in itself, it is centrally located for visitors to explore Sumter's rich South Carolina heritage. as well as the Arts., shopping and restaurants. Our stay was exceptional in every possible way - in other words, check out the photos and reviews. Then book a stay with Tracey and Tommy and you'll understand first-hand why we've already booked our first of many return visits. Enjoy.

Every detail, from the architecture to the decor, reflected its original aesthetic, making it feel like stepping back in time while enjoying modern comforts. The homeowner was incredibly warm and welcoming, going above and beyond to make us feel at home. They graciously accommodated our four dogs, providing access to a securely fenced area where they could run and play freely. The morning following our arrival, we were treated to a delicious home-cooked breakfast that was absolutely perfect—a thoughtful touch that made the experience even more memorable. We were also provided recommendations of nearby places to visit, which did not disappoint! The property was immaculate—spotlessly clean, well-organized, and thoughtfully maintained. It was an unforgettable stay, blending history, hospitality, and a genuine pet-friendly atmosphere. Truly, everything about this experience was perfect! This is a very minor dislike… The passing vehicles make a decent amount of noise that has heard when sitting out on the balcony. This is not something that you can hear inside of the home though.

The house itself is clean, and the furniture is designed to fit the time period this home was built. The bed was comfortable, and the heated floor ave towel rack was a nice surprise. This is clearly a labour of love for the hosts and they have done a wonderful job. Would happily stay here again. Highly recommended!

The homeowner is awesome and the breakfast was delicious! If you have mobility issues, the rooms are all upstairs. I do not so I did not have a problem with it personally.

The decor was unique but also respectful of the early 20th century vintage of the house. We stayed in the blue room, which was the only room that doesn't have a connected bathroom. But the room has exclusive use of the bathroom down the hall which we could keep locked. The rooms are reasonably priced for all the amenities you get, including one of the best home-cooked breakfast spreads we've ever had: eggs, bacon, grits, cheese-covered hashbrowns, and incredibly perfect biscuits! They also provided fruits, yogurt, cereal, orange juice and coffee. We had a small coffee pot and mini fridge in our room, and there was a table in the hall with a microwave, condiments, and a plate of cookies! If you think there's nothing to do in Sumter - it is a small town. But we were surprised by a weekend full of activities including an Oktoberfest celebration just a few blocks away where there were restaurants, bakeries, shops and street entertainment. There was also an outdoor sports expo happening at the local Ace Hardware with music, kids activities, dog swimming demos, and meats being grilled to sample. We came to Sumter to meet family, and booked the 1912 B&B because it was not expensive and included breakfast. Our stay was the best part of the trip and we would definitely recommend it. If interested, ask about their ghosts!
• slong116 (10/5): The Crown Jewel of Sumter, South Carolina...and beyond! - We always try to stay at B&B's instead of cookie cutter hotels for many reasons... unique atmosphere, peaceful privacy, personal hospitality, interesting history, friendly fellowship, personal safety, and, of course, delicious home-cooked breakfasts! Well, the 1912 B&B has all that and more! Tracey and Tommy are truly the perfect hosts. Enjoy Tommy's hearty Southern breakfast (he has mastered the art of great grits!) while Tracey entertains you with the history of the Inn, how they came to own it, and the saga of its restoration. You'll laugh, you'll groan, and you'll probably applaud because this girl could have a whole nother career as a stand-up comic! Yeah, she's THAT good! And, of course, the house itself is simply breath-taking in its Greek Revival splendor. It is truly the crown jewel of Sumter. P.S. All this said, if you were/are a Trekkie or a Star Wars fan, look for the little hidden hall of fame upstairs! Tracey and Tommy, may you live long and prosper, and may the Force be with you....always!
• Jeanine (10/5): - Everything was great! The property itself is beautifully restored, capturing the elegance of a bygone age. The owners were delightful. Easy walking distance to downtown historic Sumpter, with all its restaurants. Definitely would stay again.
• John (10/5): A Must Stay - We were greeted by Tommy (one of the owners) at the front door when we arrived; he gave us a tour of the home, and I couldn’t believe how clean the property was. He did the cooking for breakfast, and everything was delicious! I would give this property a rating of 20 if it were available, and I will definitely stay here again if I will be coming back to Sumter!

It is such a beautiful stately home with incredibly comfortable accommodations. The owners are very pleasant and informative, and the breakfast was delicious. We highly recommend this bed and breakfast.

The bed was the best we have ever slept in and the luxurious rain shower bath took it over the top. So many places to sit and relax, and the vintage furniture and decorations make you feel as if you are walking back in time. Can’t recommend highly enough!

I’ve been to many B&B’s internationally through the years and 1912 Bed and Breakfast truly is Five Star and at a very good rate!
