Guest Reviews
- Paul (9/5): -
- Jon-Paul (7/5): Good stay overall - Great location. Friendly staff.
Bed comfortable and room nice and quiet throughout the night. We were both ill within an hour of eating breakfast.
- Lyndon (10/5): Comfortable, nice people, good food. - Clean, close to town. Friendly staff. Nothing
- Anna (8/5): -
- Ganesh (6/5): a small compact hotel meant for the single business traveller - polite courteous staff, nice breakfast, central location helped us get to where we want pretty fast, the neighbour hood was quiet. narrow staircase, small rooms, bathroom cold, shower pressure low
- Elwell (9/5): We had a thoroughly enjoyable time staying at the Falcon and wouldn’t hesitate to book again - Comfy beds and warm room in a good central location.
Staff helpful and friendly and breakfast which was included in the price of the room was tasty and well cooked.
There was a good selection of toiletries and tea facilities available.
Windows could be opened to let fresh air in which was lovely.
Lots of fluffy towels and good sized bath sheets. Doors have Yale locks and to open you turn key the opposite way to what is normally done so I struggled to get into the room on our arrival, not great after a long journey and you just want to get in and crash, although helpful staff member came and showed me how to open it.
Breakfast had to be preordered literally as you booked in and unless you asked to change choice or time of breakfast as we had to on our last morning, you potentially had the same order for length of stay at the same time although again not a problem for staff when asked if I could change times we had chosen to have our breakfast on previous days due to us booking out early. Looking at previous reviews this system had been introduced during Covid and has obviously been adopted long term.
Although breakfast was tasty and hot it lacked a couple of items you would expect on a full English breakfast such as mushrooms and baked beans and wasn’t sure if these were on the menu as we didn’t really see it when we were asked to preorder as stated earlier, the fresh fruit and coffee were delicious though.
These were only slight niggles though and we wouldn’t be put off staying at the Falcon again.
- Susan (6/5): Convenient for one night - Friendly helpful staff Steep stairs and basic facilities
Very little parking available

- Dave (8/5): Will repeat if the opportunity arises - Excellent food - blistering breakfast - very friendly & helpful staff Single room was a little snug - but useful for what it was. It would be useful to have a mains power socket at the bed-end of the room.

- Euros (7/5): Pleasant stay, friendly staff. - Friendly staff, clean room, central location Breakfast was good, pity the table was small. Parking area very small and had to move vehicles to get in and out.
- janet (9/5): Great 👍 - Hotel facilities were great, staff very friendly and helpful. Only noticed after my friend told me that when entering your room the door doesn't lock after you close the door behind you. So I effectively slept with my door unlocked and anyone could of entered.

- Griffiths (10/5): - We've stayed here before and can't fault the place.
- Tony (9/5): very comfortable, lovely staff - Just a nice homely comfortable stay It would be useful. to have a soap dish in the shower, also the shower is difficult to control temperature
- Ananda (8/5): - Good location. Friendly staff. Facilities were good. WiFi good. Room was very small. Not even space for open suitcase !!
Having to announce breakfast timings was a bit hard.

Very good meal in the evening. Good choices on the menu.
Good breakfast and plenty of!
We've stayed here before and will continue to do so whenever we're in the area. Can't think of anything!
- Claire (6/5): Good town centre location - The staff were very helpful and the food was very good Room was small and dated
The en suite shower was poor and had a deep step in the room. The shower and the tiled floor were slippery
- 萬欽Wanchin (8/5): -
- Charlotte (9/5): Great service friendly team - Very friendly staff who remembered us, lovely breakfast, another good stay. The price has increased a lot since we first stayed over. If it increases we will stay at the local pub which is much cheaper and still comfortable.
- Colin (8/5): Handy hotel - Very attentive and helpful staff Little bit of disturbance by noise from plumbing from other rooms
- Sarah (10/5): -
- Limara (9/5): -
- William (10/5): - Best place I stayed, in a month of travel. I hated to leave....
- Carol (8/5): -
- Jocelyn (8/5): Overall it was very good and I enjoyed my stay. I would stay there again. - The room was very comfy and heating was controllable. I was cold and wet when I arrived as I had been cycling. The receptionist kindly offered to put the heating on in my room which was really appreciated. Instant coffee served at breakfast!!
- Danny peters (6/5): -
- Patrick (7/5): Good value for money. - There was a good breakfast with a lot of choice. The room was adequate in terms of space. The staff were cheerful and helpful. A walk-in shower would help those guests with limited mobility.
- Sean (7/5): -
- Chan (9/5): Value for money and good stay - Staff welcomimg Staff helpful

- John (5/5): - Breakfast was very good value as part of the bill, served by very helpful and friendly staff. Bed was nice and soft. My room overlooked the recycling depot for Carmathen which started operating at 5am. If I closed the double glazing at the windows, the noise was reduced but with the windows open, sleep was impossible. It might be an idea to tell guests this rather than leave them to find it out themselves then they can choose whether to book or whether to ask for another room.
- Christian (7/5): The staff were very friendly and helpful. Facilities were aging. - Staff very helpful and friendly. Bed was uncomfortable.
- DaveR (7/5): Overall the Falcon offers a welcoming and comfortable ambience, but the room price is a little high - The Falcon Hotel was my first choice for a 3-night stay in Carmarthen as it was convenient to the train and bus stations. I booked a large double room and I would not have wanted anything smaller. The bed was comfortable and the shower adequate. The room price included an enjoyable breakfast, which must be pre-ordered the evening before. Otherwise, I did not eat any meals at the hotel. My room (20) was located on the upper floor overlooking the adjoining muncipal parking lot. This lot also provides rear access to the nearby Merlin’s Walk shopping mall, which receives truck deliveries and dumpster servicing in the very early hours of the morning.
The weather was warm and my room hot during my visit. With no air-conditioning, I needed to keep the window open at night for ventilation and the early morning truck noise from the parking lot was not exactly conducive to a good night’s sleep.
- Harish Lodhia (7/5): Nice character hotel, slightly over priced, good city center location, good breakfast options. - Being vegetarian, the breakfast was good. However, the bathroom's extractor fan was not working, they did not replenish the toiletries (we stayed 2 nights). The parking was an issue. The hotels car park was very small, the public car park had limited spaces, and could only park maximum of 4 hours. So, if you are planning to park your car for more than 4 hours, will have to move your car.
We had the top floor room, rhe WiFi did not connect.
The hotel was bit cramped and bit dated, but neat and clean and well presented. See above
- Zoe (10/5): - 2 nights stay. Very comfortable. Staff excellent.
- Jon (8/5): -
- john (10/5): - ALL GOOD
- Rachel (9/5): Great place to stay - Amazing staff, very kind, friendly and accommodating WiFi connection is not the best, otherwise it would be a 10 out of 10 rating
- Rachel (6/5): Functional stay in the middle of Carmarthen - Good location in the middle of town, friendly staff on reception and downstairs is welcoming. Room was basic but clean and had the facilities you would expect, no frills but bed was comfortable and the shower worked well. Bedrooms are a bit dated and need a refresh. Room was far too hot with only a small fan. People hanging around in the car park on the Saturday night, not the hotels fault but noisy especially with a taxi rank right outside. Ordering breakfast the night before is a little strange as you can’t change your mind. Car parking is a bit awkward and we were blocked in, so check with reception if you need to leave early.
- Sian (8/5): Lovely hotel - Good location, 10 minute walk from the railway station. It was main high street close to shops, restaurants etc
Lovely breakfast and very clean. Staff were lovely. Our room looked into a wall 😏

- Steve (9/5): Superb -
- Linda (10/5): Overall good - Great location to venue I was going Needs a safety strip on bottom stair as I fell with it being same colour as carpet on that and main floor with me not being used to stairs
- Izaac (10/5): - An excellent establishment with comfy rooms, excellent food and all for a very reasonable price. Can't recommend highly enough and would stay again if in the area
- Joe (9/5): Superb - Very friendly service from the lady who greeted me at the hotel. I arrived just before the restaurant closed but she kept it open for me. Dinner was excellent. She gave me advice about car parking to ensure I didn't get caught in the morning. Lovely place. It was all very good.
- Garratt (10/5): Exceptional - All good.
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (7/5): Good -
- Gethyn (8/5): Very good - Fantastic location. Staff were lovely. Food was great. Even tho it was the hottest day of the year. The rooms were unbearable to sleep in due to the heat. Recommend air conditioning.
- Christine (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice hotel, well placed for bus and train station , near to shops and restaurants ❤️ breakfast was great you order every night for the next day really nice options, breakfast staff are very helpful and offer extras 😁 had dinner there one evening it was very good😁 Nothing really

- Jayanta (7/5): Good hotel with delicious breakfast - Fantastic breakfast with lots of choices. They offered everyhing we were looking for and more. Also the staffs were super helpful. Room size was smaller than I expected and also shower could have been better.
- Stephen (8/5): Convenient, clean and firendy. - Good location, centrally positioned. Room was adequate for needs, breakfast was tasty and bed very comfortable. Slightly pricey for one night for a lone traveller.
- Anty (7/5): The food and staff made the hotel - The staff !! The room was far too small! No phone to ring reception no iron the bed was uncomfortable
