Guest Reviews
- KENYA (10/5): - Coffee Hut is a good option, instead of having individual coffee pots in each individual room.
- Anthony (6/5): - Quaint, quiet little motel. Wonderful walk down to lake huron to have a lake front view of the Mackinaw Bridge. Bare basics and exactly what we expected. We will be giving the cabins a try next trip.
- Mark (8/5): - Quaint. Close to all attractions and close to other local areas.
- Michele (8/5): - Clean and comfortable. Just would recommend room darkening blinds.
- Maria (10/5): - I loved the quiet atmosphere. It was a little further from the restaurants and attractions than I wanted but it was still a great stay.
- Hannah (8/5): - The staff I spoke to wasn’t the nicest, and the weren’t sticking to their pool times and quiet hours. But other than that it was a nice location and I’d stay there again.
- Ann (8/5): - The room was very clean and quiet. It was a good value for the money. It was odd that you checked in at the camping ground down the road but it was quick and efficient. My only suggestion would be to have a small fridge in each room. Husband is diabetic and we needed to keep his medication refrigerated. I would recommend this hotel.
- Yetta (10/5): - Worked well for vacationing with another couple in the Mill Creek campground, although cabins might have been better. Bike trail connection requires crossing street, but trail system is awesome.
- Mike (10/5): - A little small but nicely decorated and comfortable.
- Donna (8/5): Nice and clean! - The room was newly updated. Very nice and clean. Wish pillows where better and maybe another bench for luggage. Otherwise was cozy and comfortable.
- Michelle (8/5): - It was adequate at fitting our need for the weekend.
- Shanna (8/5): - This property was wonderful! It was clean and comfortable. Also, the campground that owns this property has a wonderful beach and amenities. The only problem I had was we did not receive fresh towels and wash clothes during the course of our 4 night stay. Also, I would give this property an excellent review if it had a mini fridge and microwave in the room. Unfortunately it did not. Other than that, this property is wonderful and I highly recommend it.
- Marilyn (10/5): Up north retreat - We arrived to a very clean room with rustic log furniture. Very up north feeling. The amenities were few but the stay was great. The coffee station was great addition, and the coffee was good.
The only negative was the bed. It was hard.
Also the shower needs to have grab bars installed. All in all we would stay again.
- Shawn (10/5): - Room was nice and clean. Bed was comfortable. The AC cooled the room well. However it was EXTREMELY noisy. And it wasn’t from normal operations. It rattled and clunk on startup and shut down. That was our only issue. The rest of our stay was excellent.
- Ruth Ann (10/5): - Clean & friendly
- Duane (10/5): - It was great. Easily will stay there again
- Ryan (10/5): Great spot for a getaway! - This hotel was a great value for a summer getaway. The rooms are just big enough for a couple, perfect to come back to after a day in Mackinaw. Definitely couldn’t get a whole family in the room we had though. There’s a nice pool but it closed too early for us to get to use. The path down to the lake opens up to a fire/picnic area with a great view of the bridge. We were able to ride our bikes into town in about 15 minutes going at an easy pace; half of the ride was on the road, the other half on the trail that runs parallel to the road. Our room was clean and the rustic wood furnishings were nice. Parking is a little tight, especially when people don’t park in the lines. I would certainly stay here again!
- Piper (10/5): - Great place
- Jerry (6/5): - The room was clean but small. Finding how to register was cumbersome. I would not recommend it for the elderly. The lake was nearby but you couldn't see it from the room. You had a short walk through a wooded area to get to the lake.
- Jeremy (10/5): - Very nicely remodeled motel. Rooms were clean nice accommodations. Bed comfortable. Property was clean path to get to Great Lake was short well maintained
- Laura (10/5): - We loved the property!! The room was very clean and cozy!!! The only issue we had was the bed. The mattress wasn’t very comfortable, it could’ve been a a little softer. But outside that I would definitely recommend.
- Renee (10/5): - This motel is absolutely the cleanest hotel/motel I have ever stayed. Staff is super friendly and helpful.
- Kevin (10/5): Happy in mackinaw - The hotel was very clean and good value for the money. The staff was friendly and when we had a very minor issue they were there in mins to help us out.
Would stay there again
- Judy (8/5): - Motel was clean, quiet, and looked new. Would have been nice to have a small frig in room also a second chair to sit on. Would stay agsin.
- Lauren (10/5): - Perfect motel just outside of town. Beautiful private beach coffee hut too. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again!
- Angela (8/5): - It was clean and well maintained. Wish it was a Queen size bed for my husband and I but it was what I booked. No bar soap? No outlet next to bed for cellphone charging.
- Jenny (10/5): - nice clean motel. we would stay again and we would recommend to our friends
- Emma (10/5): - Great place!!!
- DONALD (10/5): Exceptional stay away from city. - After reading several reviews that said this motel was less than perfect, I now wonder if they were not about this great find. Everything here was perfect from room accommodations, staff and peacefulness away from the city. Our four day stay provided a very relaxing end to our summer travels.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Exceptionally Wonderful! - Exceptionally clean, very friendly staff, nice location! Will definitely be staying there again!! Highly recommend!!
- Vernell (10/5): - Loved the woodsy location and lake within walking distance yet everything that I needed was a close drive
- Bashar (8/5): - Overall is good but signal is bad and its far away from the city
- Nathaniel (8/5): - This is a nice little find… Close to Mackinac City and great for an overnight before heading to Mackinac Island.
- Tia (10/5): - Beautiful sunrise on neach. Private
- Leon (8/5): - My wife and i enjoyed our
stay. The room was clean and comfortable. Since there are no in room refrigerators an on site ice machine would be convenient. We would definitely stay again.
- Eric (8/5): Clean, Quiet, Comfortable, and Close to Everything - Overall I really enjoyed my stay. The check-in process at the campground was easy and the staff was super friendly. They also helped me plan my trip to the island, including providing discounted ferry tickets and shuttle bus information (and some tips on what to do when I got to the island). Other staff I met during my stay were always welcoming and friendly.
My room was comfortable, clearly newly renovated, and very clean. It was definitely small but just the right size for me as a single traveler. I also appreciated the fact that because the rooms only accommodate one or two people that there weren't children and pets and the noise and commotion that they can bring to a property. The a/c unit appeared new and worked well, and the bed was very comfortable. I also appreciated the morning coffee cabin and the opportunity to visit with other guests outside of our rooms. The location of the motel is great.
I would have loved better water pressure and temperature control in the shower, but understand with the age of the property there are some things you have to just live with. WiFi was definitely an issue, however, especially since my phone did not have great service either. While I was on vacation, and not needing to do a lot of work, decent WiFi really is important to be able to stay connected to my personal life as well. I hope that there are plans to correct this, as I definitely plan to stay here again if/when I come back to Northern Michigan.
- lisa (6/5): - this hotel is part of a camp ground about half mile away. rooms are quite small but clean. WIFI is nonexistent. their paperwork says you should be able to check emails but not stream anything but i could not even get my emails to load. it appears you can pay at the campground for upgraded wifi to allow streaming but it appears the motel is just not as well serviced. also no fridge. had to use small dorm fridge in the coffee hut to keep my dairy items cold. this is very basic accomodations!
- Lori (10/5): - Lovely setting, heated pool, amazing beach with a fantastic view of the Mighty Mac!!!
- Ricky (10/5): - Great place
- terry (10/5): - Everything was perfect, I just wish the pool would have been open
- John (10/5): - The room was cute and very clean. There is a outdoor pool. The best was by staying at the hotel you receive a pass to the campground 1/2 mile down the road with access to the lake and campfire pits, camp store, outdoor pool and free mini golf. Really nice setup.
- Steve (10/5): - Very cute room & quaint furniture! Beautiful bedding & artwork. Missing hangers for our jackets & luggage rack for our suitcases though. Wi Fi was poor if it worked at all. It served its purpose for what we needed.
- Maria (8/5): Serene and clean - great value - This was our 2 nd visit to this motel, it’s updated rooms are clean and rustic looking with the log furniture- we brought a mattress topper to lay on top of mattress , as the mattresses are alittle too hard for me- we love the beautiful landscaping, coffee/tea hut and the trail down to the lake area - surroundings are beautiful and peaceful here- a heck of a value for couples that want a quiet serene getaway !!! We are planning another visit , one in the books and more to come- also, love that we can use camp ground facilities too- the store is nice and just driving thru seeing the campers and smelling the great bonfires brings us back when we camped here!!!!!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Would not stay again - I can tell it had been renovated recently. However the room was barely furnished and incredibly small. Bed was terribly uncomfortable. Air conditioning unit was ancient and hardly worked (could be due to the thick layer of dust on it). My room was infested with fruit flies. With many better options in the area, i will not recommend or stay here again.
- Jeff (10/5): - Very clean and quiet.
- Patricia (4/5): - The room was nicely done and clean. The bed, however, was so hard there was no give to get comfortable. My Husband slept in his lawn chair, and I had the bed. I slept for about 2 hours and woke up with my leg numb. It was 2AM and we decided not to stay the next night because of the bed.
- AMANDA (8/5): - I will definitely stay here again. Great staff and friendly. Minutes from town. Nice and quiet
- john E (6/5): - It had beautiful surroundings.
- Bob (8/5): - Very clean, very nice furnishings, though sparce. But, NO coffee!
- Greg (8/5): - no hair dryer -- 1 ply toilet paper -- barren of any furniture
checking in was easy -- parking was great -- very clean
- Chris (8/5): - The hotel is part of the Mill Creek Campgrounds. You have to check in there to get keys, make payments. Room was small and clean, no frills. WiFi was horrible, but that wasn't why we were there so it really wasn't an inconvenience. You have access to all campground amenities if you want to use them. Coffee is available in AM, good and hot. One near feature was a short walk to the Lakeshore. You could bring firewood and watch freighters, see the Bridge in the distance. Overall our stay was good. This is a good option of you plan on using it as a launch pad for your adventures.
- Terry (8/5): - We enjoyed the setting of this motel! Very tranquil!!
- Jason (10/5): Thumbs up! - Great stay, nice clean room.
- Joel (6/5): - We had no television due to a Dish problem. The pool was finally open the day we had to leave.
Bathtub drain was very slow.
