- Belinda (6/5): Nice rooms and swim up bar pool but overpriced - The rooms were good, the pillows were fantastic and the pool with the swimmer bar was also great Very expensive for what you got. Valet parking was ridiculously expensive Shower took ages to warm up There were no little luxuries provided or complementary items. Hotel room had a useless pull out drawer fridge with some beers in it, we asked downstairs if these were complementary as there were absolutely no signs to indicate what was complementary and what wasn’t and we were told that no they were not complimentary. You had to pay for them. Very disappointing as we had stayed at similar hotels in the area and received free snacks and beers to celebrate the NRL magic round weekend. Communication in general was poor no information on how to sign onto Wi-Fi given. We just ended up not using any of the items in the room as we were concerned that they were gonna be charged at the end of our stay

The only small downpoints were it was our anniversary and when we mentioned that at check in we were told they'd send something up to our room, which never happened. Not a big deal but a tad disappointing. The other thing was the shower hot water temperature was extremely hard to adjust and was often either way too hot or way too cold.

- freefamilyseven (10/5): Wonderful, Welcoming Westin - A beautiful, luxurious hotel, located in the heart of Brisbane City. A short stay provided a wonderful experience. We enjoyed pre-dinner drinks, canapes and breakfast in the Executive Lounge. The Signature Heavenly Journey package in the Heavenly Spa was a divine experience - 90 minutes of absolute bliss! The gym was well equipped and overlooked the inviting pool. Overall, a lovely hotel to enjoy a weekend getaway.

- D4109AXianh (2/5): Construction Piling makes hotel anything but serene - Whilst hotel is new and staff super helpful if you need to work in your room or want to sleep beyond 7:30am forget it Moved from room on twelfth floor due to construction piling noise to one on back of hotel on 5th floor - stops the vibration but does not stop the noise - only quiet place is the corridor! The outside cafe area is impacted by aforementioned construction noise and the gentle waft of sewage from the construction site Not the serene stay that the website claims Will be staying elsewhere for next year whilst the construction gets past the piling stage

- nick164 (8/5): A few service lapses, however still an enjoyable stay. Bar closed by 10pm both evenings however. - The hotel location is convenient, in the CBD and a short walk from the station. Whilst it doesn’t have views of some of the other hotels, the design and friendly service make this a really good city hotel option in Brisbane. The service in particular is a highlight, being genuinely warm. Check-in was welcoming and informative, with great recognition as a Marriott Gold (kindly upgraded to a High Floor Club Room). Arriving mid morning, my room understandably wasn't ready however pleasantly I received a text message within the hour advising it was. It was also a lovely gesture providing access to the club lounge meantime. The hotel is very well appointed and maintained throughout, with a few minor maintenance issues in the corridor of my floor - a large gap under the fire escape door, resulting in a draught and loud whistling noise and a stained carpet (see photo). The room was spacious, well-appointed with a good level of housekeeping. The first room assigned did however have an unpleasant odour from the drain in the bathroom, however a room change was well handled. A few design issues with the room including lack of free plugs at the bedside and the “reading light” having the brightness of a search light (see photo). As is common place in Marriott chains post-Covid, the minibar wasn't stocked - instead, a menu with a very restrictive number of packages available to order which fail to consider those with allergies. The bathroom had a rain shower nozzle and standard one, however the pressure and temperature regulation was a bit fiddly. The towels were quite coarse. Sleep quality was good. Whilst there are blackout curtains, an eye mask was provided as well as ear plugs. There was some nearby construction noise however didn’t find this detracted from my stay. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was, on the whole, very good. The layout is nice, with an open kitchen. Service was friendly and attentive. The menu was well signed for those with allergies or dietary needs. The starter and main (pasta) were excellent, however disappointingly the creme brulee was very 'gritty' and visibly crystallised. Upon highlighting this, the waitress was apologised and the item was removed from the bill. Disappointingly, the hotel’s only bar was closed by 10pm on both nights of my stay. On the first, last orders were called at 10pm despite around 10 guests still in the bar. On the second, after dinner I passed by the bar and attempted to order a drink take to my room and was told the bar had already closed (before 950pm). Upon being advised I could order room service instead - which would incur a 'tray' fee - I asked to speak with the Duty Manager. The reason provided for the early close was "the system was being updated”. It was unclear why this was scheduled during operating hours, and I queried why a simple paper‑based fallback wasn’t in place. I also noted that the bar had closed early the previous night, which the manager was unaware of. While an apology and a complimentary glass of wine was provided, the fact remains that the bar closed more than an hour early on both evenings in what is supposed to be a hotel with full facilities. The hotel swimming pool area was nice and well laid out. The pool bar opens from 12pm, however hadn't been cleared properly from the prior day - the morning I visited a large number of used glasses sitting off to the side of the bar. In all, still an enjoyable stay. Hopefully the few lapses can be addressed.

Huge shoutout to Faye at the front desk, she is incredibly friendly, very helpful and made check-in a breeze. Staff like her make all the difference! Highly recommend for a relaxing city getaway. Can't wait to come back

Bed linens smelt of bleach or chlorine. Duvet was torn. We requested room clean all they did was make the bed. No dishes cups were cleaned or replaced. Just left as they were. No tissues in the room. No amenities were restocked for the 2nd day night. Lacked a lot of a small touches for a 5 star hotel.

The staff could not have been more accommodating if they tried and the quality of service at every turn was exceptional. Big shout out to Josh on the swim up bar at the pool, his personality created a welcoming atmosphere where fellow travellers from all over the world were able to meet, trade stories, and enjoy his dangerously good coconut margaritas. I can’t imagine why you would want to stay anywhere else when visiting Brisbane, we will certainly be looking for any excuse to return in the future.

(We don’t drink coffee unless decaffeinated) Tea bags were not replenished though we stayed 3 nights.

I was there for business meetings and 5-10 walking distance to everywhere i had to go. Hotel looks and feels new with nicely designed room interiors and inviting pool/deck for relaxation. Top quality service and for those with access to Club it is a great value during your stay! Highly recommend
- olivedarcy (6/5): An OK experience, no warning of pool area being closed. - I stayed with my sister and her baby in June 2025 in a 2x Double Bed room. I will start by saying the room was sizable, the beds were comfortable and the room had an outlook to the Brisbane river although that may not remain as there is currently a large building under construction behind the hotel. The bathroom was decent with a powerful shower, and was relatively clean. There was plenty of space for luggage and a sizable wardrobe. The hotel provided a baby cot in the room for my nephew. Valet parking was easy to use. We cannot comment on breakfast/food at the hotel as we did not use this. Some unfortunate negatives: There was overwhelming construction noise that started at 6am which woke us up and had a real impact on our sleep. The noise was loud, repetitive and jarring. I had to actually sleep with noise cancelling headphones on. I believe hotel rooms on the other side of the building would not have had that issue and am annoyed we were put in this room knowing about the construction noise. The pool was out of action for the 2 nights of our stay, which we were not informed of before the stay. It was the middle of June and I wouldn't have wanted to go swimming anyway, but the entire area was barricaded off. I had to have a discussion with the duty manager downstairs to ask if I could simply sit near the pool and rest and read. After some discussion they allowed me to do this. One of the reasons I had booked the hotel was for the nice pool area, which is rare in Brisbane hotels. I would stay here again, but only once the nearby construction is complete, not sure how this is going now in March 2026?

- Scott (2/5): The room had a sewage smell and the pool bar had warm drinks although the staff were friendly. - The location is excellent, situated right next to a main shopping area which makes it very convenient with plenty of shops and amenities close by. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the room itself had several issues. The bathroom had a noticeable sewage smell which made it quite unpleasant. There is also a strange cabinet placed in the centre of the room that looks like a wardrobe but is actually a fridge, which feels very oddly positioned. The drawers didn’t shut properly and the glasses didn’t fit in the cabinet well, making it feel poorly designed and inconvenient. The pool bar was also disappointing. The fridges behind the bar weren’t working, so drinks were being served warm. The food at the pool bar was below par as well. We ordered sweet potato fries, a cucumber salad, and salt and pepper calamari, and all of them were quite poor in quality.

In the morning I was looking for charge my phone in the lobby and have a coffee in the meantime. The receptionist told me that there are no charges in common area. I went upstairs and had coffee in the room, again 1 only spoon that was even dirty. This is not a 5 star hotel and definitely not a 5 star service.

- glf4771 (10/5): Valentines Weekend - 2 night stay. Great service all round in a top level 16 executive club room. Nice large 40 sq room with a chase and a heavenly bed. All amenities including an iron and board. Separate toilet too. The club lounge on level 3 was great, nice continental breakfast. Great cheeses and drinks. Get there at 5pm for alcohol/canapés! Valet parking a little pricey but it was a valentines weekend. Friendly staff only too happy to help. Stay again = YES. Thanks, we had a blast!!

- TravelProHawaii (10/5): I had an outstanding experience my whole entire stay and their leadership treats repeat guests like family. - I had an outstanding experience on my recent stay there. The Front Office Management and General Manager are very welcoming and treat their Platinum guests with great respect and your loyalty matters to them. The club lounge offers evening self service wines and you can order spirits and cocktails from their concierge teams who approach you at your table. They have a self service coffee machine and sodas open from morning until closing. They are very caught up to date with the artificial intelligence and a unique feature is that housekeeping can determine when you are not in the room for the daily housekeeping service. The swimming pool area has retreat style loungers. The property is very conveniently located near the waters where you have access to the ferry’s and a lot of botanical gardens and commercial shopping areas. There are a lot of dining options within walking distance. This is definitely a property that I would stay at again.

Firstly, this property is very well situated, located in the heart of Brisbane's central business district (CBD), close to river, botanical gardens, and within walking distance from cafes, restaurants and Queens St mall (shopping district). I was booked in for a single night stay in late January this year, and from the moment the front of house greeted me, I could tell that this hotel prides itself on perfecting the guest experience. Check-in was seamless, and I was welcomed with big smiles and enthusiasm. A big kudos to the team for doing their very best to allow for early check-in, this was greatly appreciated. As my original booking did not include breakfast, I was very impressed and grateful that the staff added this (complimentary) to my booking - free of charge. This definitely is a great example of 5-star service, taking initiative in ensuring your guest has a comfortable and memorable stay by going above and beyond. Thank you again Westin! This was further topped off with an upgraded room - which was more spacious, elegant, refined and had a great view of Brisbane CBD. The room is very well appointed, clean, with a very comfortable king bed, and all your required amenities. Overall, the property has a very calming atmosphere, with excellent facilities including a really large pool, and well equipped gym. Breakfast was absolutely delicious with a very large selected of hot and cold options, including great coffee! The Westin is great value for money - I would highly recommend staying at this property, whether it be for a staycation, holiday, or a business trip.
