Guest Reviews
- Annkathrin (8/5): - Schönes kleines Zimmer, gute Ausstattung
- Hardie (8/5): Comfortable, easy and secure. - Very convenient and cozy guesthouse. Nothing.
- Siobhan (8/5): A pleasant B&B with a nice atmosphere. I will be going back. - I felt really secure, and the venue was pretty There was very little signage on the road and i drove past the turn off each time.
Also the drop off fromn the tar to the dirt is not good for smaller cars - i was renting a vehicle.
Maybe they could put bricks down to create less of a drop.
- Petersen (8/5): -
- Kagelelo (8/5): -
- Kenneth (10/5): - Staff Small swimming pool
- Alison (5/5): - Didn't spend the night there. They flooded due to rain and directed us to another place where rooms were well below expectations. Rooms we were directed to were well below standard.
- van Zyl (4/5): - We could not stay at the Thamalakane guest house because the sewage system was blocked. The lady booked us in at another guest house close by
- Shakami (10/5): -
- Michael (8/5): -
- Venita (7/5): -
- Coetzee (6/5): Relax and peaceful - Easy to find..far enough off main road for quiet sleep Pity ..elect was off in whole Maun area for our first day..so no hot shower and no aircon or internet
- Daniel (6/5): - the pool was dirty and not in working condition, which was big disappointment.
- Caws (8/5): served as a good base for our travels - Staff were pleasant and helpful
Location was good
Kitchen was well equipped Lighting in the room was bad, one lamp did not work
- Collett (10/5): - What a gem! The staff where so friendly and the rooms very well equipped.
- Fernando (9/5): - Limpieza y personal.
- John (2/5): beware if rooster - Nice room but rooster directly next ti my room crowed all night and. I couldnt sleep, worst experience.
- Laura (9/5): Pleasant stay in Maun - Very comfortable and kind and helpful staff. The power and water went out our last morning but I don’t think that was the fault of the hotel. We went out to breakfast instead of eating in and it was fixed when we returned.
- Justyna (9/5): Superb - Good quality for reasonable price. Nice garden. Bathroom could be better however we stayed just one night so it was ok. Hot shower between of safari camps:) Overall ok
- Mauri (9/5): Superb - The location is excellent, if you are going to Moremi direction, as we were. It is however more than 4 km from Maun center, if that is important. They did let us keep our car two nights in guarded area during our safari in Okawango - we stayd night before and after. That was a big help.
- Rachel (4/5): Disappointing - Our second stay here - first stay was in the very comfortable front room. But the back room has a terrible bed and a rooster that crows all night. Best ensure you get a front room!
- Kebonye (6/5): Pleasant -
- Piotr (9/5): Superb -
- Raymond (7/5): Good -
- Shirley (8/5): very reasonable . friendly staff - self catering
- Ronda (8/5): Lovely comfortable guesthouse close to Maun - Comfortable room with kitchenette, nice staff, daily housekeeping, wifi, ample hot water. Not many services within walking distance.
- Danahasan (8/5): Very good -
- Bridget (6/5): Pleasant -
- Mariobg (4/5): Disappointing -
- Linde (7/5): Good - Quiet location, helpful staff, kitchen that you can use, laundry costs extra
- Robert (8/5): Relaxing stay in Maun - The room was clean and comfortable and had a small refrigerator. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The location is far away from any shops and restaurants and there isn't a restaurant on site. You had to take a taxi for even small things and it became expensive
- Smit (7/5): Thank you for the very relaxing stay-over to reload after a long journey. - Loved the quiet and calm environment. It was refreshing to have a stay over where you can actually recover from driving 704km to Maun. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. Our kids enjoyed the pool to relax their bodies and just have fun after the long drive. The beautiful green garden was so peaceful, we really enjoyed our stay. The bath/shower unit is a bit uncomfortable and unsteady.
The kitchen stove takes very long for cooked meals in the self-catering chalet. The power strength was very weak to pull one stove top and the aircon together and it was unbearably hot to switch of the aircon while trying to get the food cooked.
Small stuff can be looked into like having Repellent in the rooms for your guests/untorn kitchen curtains/ missing curtain hooks and then lastly to look into a table for the stove in a safe spot.
But other than that GREAT STAY
- Valerie (6/5): 1 night budget travel - We were only 15 hours overnight in Maun so found it quiet and suitable for purpose. No food options so we dined at cresta Riley's.. It's OK for 1 night. Standard suited to budget travel and locals..I had expected better bathroom facilities.
- Bill (10/5): Exceptional -
- Manie (8/5): Very good -
- Topo (7/5): Good - The ambiance and location are my perfect preferences. Water pressure and hot water were not always available. Connectivity is non-existent. Resident wifi had no bandwidth and mobile signals very poor in the area.
- Kelebogile (8/5): Very good -
- Rodgers (9/5): Superb -
- Luiza (7/5): Good -
- Justine (9/5): Comfortable stay at friendly guesthouse! - Wonderful staff! Nothing
- Eliud (8/5): Very good - Quiet place.
- Tshepho (7/5): Good - Thuso and team were quick to replace our stove when we had a challenge. The place is quiet and safe. Steady wifi connection The interiror furnishings need a bit of touch-up. The pool is rather small
- Batul (8/5): Very good -
- Dominika (10/5): I had the pleasure of staying at this place and I must say it was an excellent choice. The place is very welcoming, maki - Cleanliness, helpful staff
- Petar (7/5): Good -
- Petar (7/5): Good -
- Petar (7/5): Good -
- Kathleen (8/5): - Good value good WiFi. Should turn on air con one hour before guest arrival though if this is known ahead of time. Super helpful staff. Pictures of pool should be downplayed in advert because it is small IRL.
- Molotsi (8/5): Very good -
- Priscilla (8/5): Very good -
- Kitsiso (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yves (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adams (4/5): Disappointing -
- Naude (9/5): Superb - The guesthouse was a good home with all the comforts expected. A good shared kitchen for self catering and very good WiFi made for a good stay. There was nothing we did not like.
- Shiri (8/5): Very good - Double rooms were fair size. Staff let us use the kitchen and all the facilities. Rooms were clean. Family apartment was supposed to accomodate 6 persons but it was too small so we booked an extra room on arrival. Maintenance of facilities (toilets, showers) was not in good shape. We gave our clothes for laundry (with extra charge) and it came back as dirty as it was.
- Fausto (8/5): Maun base to explore the Okawango delta! - Quite place, good parking, room comfortable’ Little far from town… non good indication
- Rossiter (8/5): Very comfortable guest house with lovely kitchen facilities, garden and pool. - The staff were extremely helpful assisting us to make contact with Mosu Safari Tours. Allowed our vehicle to park for the 2 nights we were on safari.
- Emily-rae (9/5): Perfect affordable and clean and quiet - Perfect for a one night stop over, affordable and quiet, the bigger room was great with a bath. Good internet and safe parking for the vehicle. Very friendly and helpful staff.
- Phenyo (10/5): Exceptional - It was good, the rooms were big and calm. The Personal was friendly.
- Nicholas (9/5): Superb -
- Moira (9/5): Great value for money ! - We were met by a very friendly Kay, who went out of her way to help us. The room was large and could easily accommodate us. It was nice to have a bath for a change. The kitchen was well equipped. This place offered us great value for our money. Nothing
- John (7/5): It was what I expected. Inexpensive hotel in rural Africa. - None
- Scott (7/5): Good - Friendly staff, great stay.
- Jimmie (9/5): excelllent -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely room and friendly, helpful staff. Very easy to find and situated in a great location not too far from town Nothing
- Matthys (7/5): Good -
- Andre (6/5): Did not match expectations of an 8 rating on booking.com - Being able to barbecue outside. Having the use of a full kitchen and dining room area. Interaction with other guests. A little rundown and in need of a deep clean and/or revamp
- Anna (8/5): Nice spot where we prolonged our stay - + It's a calm place with 4 rooms, but there is a huge kitchen with a living room and a nice area in the garden.
+ Stuff was very welcoming, nice, and helpful.
In the end, we decided to stay there one more night just to chill.
+ It's very clean. It's easier to get there if you have a car (like to 99% of places around Maun), but it's definitely double with shared taxis that run around the city too.
- Polite (8/5): Very good -
- Belinda (6/5): Pleasant - Convenience. Room next to the Reception was a little noisy from the Reception TV. However, when we alerted the Service Manager, they muted it.
- Ignat (9/5): Superb -
- William (9/5): We had a great stay here and would definitely come again. - It was clean, comfortable, and the staff was incredibly helpful and kind. It's just a ways outside of town.
- Vadim (9/5): Cozy and affordable stay in/ near Maun - Good stay, with a small swimming pool, a patio and a bbq place. Safe internal parking for guests. Place looks better than on the listing photos. Comfortable beds and friendly hosts. We have stayed here twice during our trip. A little too far from Maun if you dont have a car. So a car or a taxi ride is necessary. Ants might appear near a tap but this is typical for the region.
- Vadim (10/5): Exceptional - Good stay, with a small swimming pool, a patio and a bbq place. Safe internal parking for guests. The place can arrange affordable taxi upon request. A little too far from Maun. So a car or a taxi ride is necessary. So ants might appear near a tap but this is typical for the region.
- Hillermann (5/5): OK - Room was reasonably sized Freezer and Microwave were dirty. No drinking glasses in self catering unit.
- Marie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kashveer (7/5): Good -
- Sascha (9/5): Superb - This place is a little hidden gem! The rooms are spacious, equipped with a TV, Aircon and a good hot shower. There is a little pool and a big kitchen you can use to cook your own food. We were very happy to stay here. Not a thing that comes to mind.
- Katrina (8/5): Very good - Good value for money.
- Ann (9/5): Perfect for a cheap overnight stop in Maun. - This place had everything we needed to serve our purpose: an overnight stop on our way to Moremi Reserve. There was a communal kitchen that we could use, air conditioning in the room, and a TV, though we didn’t use it. The room was slightly small, as well as the parking area.
- Bela (8/5): It does the job - - Good air conditioning
- Strong wi-fi signal
- Really comfortable bed
- Enough space in the yard to park your car
- It wasn’t a big thing but we also liked the complementary coffee in the roomy - No major problems, only some minor stuff, e.g.
- The casing of the light bulb in the bathroom was full of dead insects (photo uploaded)
- Bedsheets and linen had rips and holes on them (photo uploaded). Apart from this issue, everything was clean.
Conclusion: I must remind myself that this area, i e. Maun and the Okavango Delta, as well as Botswana try to attract western tourists who are willing to spend. Everything is priced accordingly. This place is not exception either as it’s a bit overpriced. But it’s a good option overall.

- Mungapen (8/5): Very good - Very clean and very comfortable beddings. Cooking facilities though a little slow. Swimming pool is too dirty to be used
- Kashveer (7/5): Good -
- Mazo (5/5): Passable - It's affordable and along the main road. The staff did not even welcome us when we arrived, we struggled with our bags alone from the car to the reception. They were there seated on the chairs in the gazebo outside. We even thought they were guests too, only to see them following us when we were now at the reception. The shower was very slippery and they put a mat after 2 nights there. There was also no bathing soap, lotion etc in the bathroom or even a towel. We had to go back to the shops at night.
Lastly, the swimming pool was very dirty full of leaves but the main reason we booked them was because of the pool and its unfortunate we never used it. I asked the lady there on the first day to clean the pool it was very hot and 30 mins in the pool was all i needed, unfortunately she just said yes she will clean and i couldn't ask again. I left Maun without using my swimminh trunks.
Other than the above, generally, they are clean, and they were making the room.
- Jon (8/5): It was perfect for what I needed, a one night stay before leaving for safari. - I did not have breakfast and do not think it was offered. Room was cozy, plentiful hot water and purified water to drink. Heat pump kept me warm in the Botswana winter.
- Jackie (7/5): Lovely people in lovely sized rooms - Convenient location and friendly staff No breakfast
- Lorenzo (8/5): Value for money - Great value for money, perfect for a stop in Maun Water pressure to be fixed
- Mieke (8/5): Feels like home - We had a lovely time sitting outside in the communal area and even used the pool in the middle of winter. Very relaxing atmosphere; we immediately felt at home. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and staff are reserved, but responsive and helpful. The water pressure wasn't great.
