Guest Reviews
- Charles (8/5): - Clean room, simple design. Excellent breakfast and proximity to shopping mall
- PolarBear777 (8/5): Decent stay - Hotel is on the outskirts of Windhoek near a mall, with limited nearby dining options. Rooms are cramped but ok. Check in is a bit slow and they’re strict on the check in time. Only 1 key provided which was annoying with a shared room. Dinner and breakfast and the bar were great. Free water bottles were appreciated. Would consider this hotel again if I don’t need to be in the city centre.
- Eilise Ahunna (10/5): - Very perfect
- Colin (10/5): - Nice little hotel. Excellent staff and breakfast!
- Travaller2920 (6/5): Bad reception service - Location is center!
Careless staff, heater in room not working, we call reception came checked and said they will bring heater to room, that heater never cane to our room. WiFi not working we called reception they said we will bring new code to your room, we said we just got a code downstairs an hour ago and that was working staff said manager likes to change the code. WHAT! WHY?! That’s annoying keep changing code. However the code never came to our room. 45 min later we are in bed reception calls our room asking if we still need heater ? What a joke !
Phone in room is not dialing the reception so we had to keep going down the stairs if we needed something.
- ROTINAH (10/5): - Everything
- Verified traveler (6/5): Fint opphold - Helt ok sted. Veldig rent.
Bruk yango/lefa for å komme deg rundt (mobil app).
- Birgitte gabrielsen (10/5): Meget for pengene - Centralt beliggende (lige over for mall) stille og rolige omgivelser. Har en lækker restaurant i gårdhaven. Meget rent og pænt. Du kan parkere din bil sikkert, da der er Security ved indkørsel til hotellet.
- Mohammad (10/5): - Very close to the bie Maerua Mall where u can find anything u imagine.
- M S (10/5): Excellent stay - Excellent stay. Breakfast was very good, we had the option of choosing a meal from the breakfast menu which, was perfect for us since we don't eat meat. Kids enjoyed the waffles and fresh fruit. Would be perfect if it had a microwave.
- dennisbE6625DS (6/5): Rose the receptionist - The room was average, as in most hotels in Southern Africa, maintenance is poor, and the shower leaked over the floor. Breakfast was minimal selection.
The highlight was Rose, the receptionist, she was excellent, because of her would stay again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Need improvement in the rooms - The place is excellent in the centre, next to shopping mall. Unfortunately my room was next to a busy road with no view. The double bed was very uncomfortable, noisy every time you turn, and the outside lights outside the window was burning through the night, no dark curtains... Very tired the next day. Otherwise the staff was very friendly and the breakfast was supper.
- Jean Pierre (10/5): Très bon hôtel - Excellent hôtel en centre ville, accueil super sympa, bon restaurant
- James (10/5): - Stayed here many times
- Hermann (6/5): - Simple and clean, a bit loud
- William (8/5): - There was no pool. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
- ToniT1079 (10/5): Close to Everything yet Far from Noise - This venue offers great location near Maurea on Mall, safe place, and relaxing venue. Excellent staff attention from all including Rose who referred us to IB Transgers and Tours for a great day city tour with Isaak who knows the history of Namibia. Great breakfast buffet with gardens, hot foods, yougert, fresh fruit and breads. Safe place, TV in rooms and in TV and books in a cozy sitting room. Rose has been attentive and helpful . A few local and an international TV stations. Housekeeping excellent!
Just a few steps from grocery stores, and any kind of store you can imagine at the Mall. Lovely gardens for sitting or enjoying a meal at Cork and Fork restaurant.
- silvia (8/5): - rose helped me alot with booking anf organizing things. i felt very welcome at the place.
- Philip (10/5): - Great value for money. It's not fancy but it delivers a comfy bed in a clean room. The staff are warm and relaxed. The food is tasty. And the hotel is well placed for shopping and activities in the centre of town.
- Patrick (8/5): - Area rating around property was due to construction out of the control of the property.
- David (6/5): - The hotel itself is ok, the staff are nice and helpful, but if you are there to work the internet has to work, and there was no internet the entire time which is very frustrating.
- Silke (6/5): - It was a very small room with air conditioning that unfortunately didn't cool and the shower tray was broken. All in all, I didn't like it that much. The highlight was the restaurant with a small garden.
- Nyaradzai (8/5): - The restaurant menu and dining area is top notch. The rooms are okay, value for money. Staff was helpful.
However, there is no pool as advertised.
- André (10/5): - The property is amazing, great space to be. The room is so comfortable and good place to be with family. The kids have a they own space where they can play. If I have to go back to Windhoek with family, that will be the first place to think.
Thanks for the hospitality.
- Scenic30210514384 (6/5): Somewhat like a motel - We’re here because we’re on a trip with G Adventures and this is where they put us. It’s probably the best place in town. Windhoek has two sides, the really nice and the ghetto. This is in the nicer side. The rooms are cramped and the hallway is in need of updating but the AC worked well and the menu had a lot of choices.
- edgycoolness (6/5): Nice modern hotel - A mall is next door but you need to taxi to see any sites. Outlets are strangely hidden behind furniture which makes it inconvenient to charge your phone. The remote for the TV and A/C is bizarrely given to you with the room key, it should stay in the room. And thus the a/c was not on when I entered the room. The free bottles water was not the fridge where I could have had cold water waiting for me. The behind the bed lamp takes the room lighting from dim yellow to natural white yet it doesn't stay on for long and would start flickering. The ceiling light is in your eyes when you're lying in bed looking at your phone. I found a roach in my room so I shouldn't have left my suitcase open. Bedsheets had a blood stain on them.
There's no room for towels in the bedroom so it took me a minute to find them in the room. No solid hand soap for sink, just body wash in a tube. Towel had stains on it, bathroom mirror is too low, its next to the sink. it should be a few inches higher.
Rate is $51 a night for a single room, they they charge extra per child. Don't get a room on the first floor. The hotel doesn't have umbrellas for guests.
The restaurant menu does not have a meat free pasta option for vegetarians. They have a whole seafood section but not a vegetarian option. The alfredo pasta was more like a cheddar soup. Service is slow in restaurant, then asked if I wanted to leave a tip. They had an impressive collection of cakes. For breakfast they put the salami together with the cheese, cucumber and tomatoes and only one tong. I don't want to eat a cucumber that's touching meat. The mushrooms were burnt beyond recognition. Only canned fruit was served at breakfast. I liked the passion fruit welcome drink when I arrived at the hotel.
- MaryamS922 (6/5): Not a pleasant stay - There are the positive and negative based on my experience.
Positive: clean room, friendly staff.
Negative:
I stayed at a double bed room and the room was too too small. The bed was uncomfortable and it was the type of bed suitable for children’s bedroom not adults. I’m a small size woman and I found the bed too small and I was worried to fall if I turn during sleep. The hotel is located far from the center of town where the famous church, museum and restaurants are. The only thing near the hotel is a boring mall. There is a mega store facing one side of the hotel with huge neon light signs which are on all night and the rooms that face that store get all the lights and if you are sensitive to light you won’t be able to sleep at night, the room had thin curtains that did not block the light . They also have a ridiculously slow Wi-Fi connection. Below average breakfast. I don’t recommend this place and I won’t coming back.
- Lucyan (6/5): Nice hotel in Windhoek - Decent hotel in Windhoek, near shopping center and restaurants. Friendly front desk staff, spacious rooms and beds. Working Wi-Fi! Nice breakfast in the morning as well. Arranges taxi to airport. Unfortunately no elevators.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The door was difficult lock my room had to be changed and secondly
- Sylvia (6/5): Corona is the excuse not to clean the room!!! - The food in the restaurant was good and the service too. We did not know we should ask for our room to be cleaned in a hotel so we ended up with an unclean room. According to the assistant manager the price on the web were too low to include breakfast but they forgot to change it. Will not be back.
The aircon also had a virus and did not work properly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - All was good. The restaurant was excellent! Nice setting inside and out in garden.
- LeslieLorraine (10/5): Fast Wi-Fi! - I stayed at this hotel at the end of my G Adventures tour. Complimentary breakfast, air conditioner, and FAST free Wi-Fi (rarity in Namibia!) right next to a mall with lots of shops and food, mini refrigerator in room. Front desk ordered me a Taxi to the airport which cost 330 Namibian dollars. No issues here- great hotel! Comfortable, clean, and good customer service. Highly recommend!
- 715uwek (10/5): End of lovely adventure - We stayed here at the end of our G Adventures tour. Staff were very friendly, hotel room was clean and everything worked. It is a short taxi ride to downtown so I do not consider location a drawback. Food in inhouse restaurant was excellent and restaurant staff were friendly and seemed genuinely to enjoy their jobs which is lovely to see nowadays.
- henricea2015 (8/5): good value - I was on the ground floor. The room was clean and quiet. It had a working safe and the WIFI worked extremely well. A sign in the shower encouraged guests to re-use towels by putting them on hooks but there were none in my room. The hotel has a nice garden with something they call a pool but is more like a bath. I did not have dinner here but one person in my group did and said it was good. Breakfast was good. I only had the continental selection and this was very well presented. The downside of the hotel is that it is not centrally located. It is about 25- 30 min to walk into town. A taxi is about 24 N$. It is situated next to a big shopping mall, which has a food court, with pizza places etc.
- 398claro (10/5): home from home - clean, comfortable room. Situated next to a big shopping centre. Super friendly staff. The lady who Manages this hotel was so generous in giving me a room to rest in free of charge for a few hours while I waited before my shuttle bus was to take me to the airport. Thank you Auas hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - central and close to the city. convenient as its a walking distance to most central places
- Steve (6/5): Nope, not for me again. - No toilet roll holder, no towel rails. No soap dish/holder in the shower. 2 options for the shower( hand held & shower head ), but no instruction of how to change between the 2.
Early on check out day I had to pop to site and then return for breakfast & shower. I requested that they do not attend to my room until I have checked out. Upon return they had removed the towels, which meant getting dressed again and having to go to reception( no notice of which number to dial for reception ) and request more.
- 55Steelman55 (6/5): Handyman needed - We stayed for a night before setting off on our g adventure tour, we had a bit of a tour round Windhoek trying to find it, it's tucked away behind a big shopping mall.
It is what it is, a motel style building that is fine for a 1 night stay.
Could do with a handyman as only 1 of the 3 safes in our rooms worked and the tv in ours didn't work.
Nice outdoor pool and terrace bar area and their steak house is good
- lorelief (6/5): out of the way - hotel is 30 min walk from down town Windhoek which is a bit of a draw back as so far from museums, old town. Bathroom nice but no where to put anything. Lovely garden to sit and relax in. O.K. breakfast. Arranges taxi to airport.
- VictorP59 (10/5): Nice, clean, economic near Windhoek centre - We found this place after driving around for over an hour in a taxi, at midnight, looking for a place to stay because the other hotel had no rooms after bookings had been made. This place is small, but clean, really nice and helpful staff, good restaurant with a mix of Portuguese and regional food and way, way cheaper than the more well known places. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a quite and inexpensive place to stay in Windhoek.
- Mostlynicky (8/5): Pleasant Stay - Pleasant hotel next to Windhoek's major mall and a supermarket. Hotel staff are super lovely and their Manager is a top class lady.
Pro's
Convenient Location
Lovely Staff
Comfortable Rooms
Great Shower
Good Wifi
On site restaurant that serves good food and bar will stay open until you go to bed.
Con's
No elevators - however, reception staff are happy to help with luggage.
Pool is prettty tiny
This is a tour group hotel & can therefore get pretty rowdy.
- lapaka8 (8/5): Lovely hotel - Stayed at the hotel for a business engagement at the Windhoek Show grounds. The room was nice and the wifi connection was great. My room window was facing a shopping complex whose illuminated sign was flickering the whole night so there wasn't complete darkness in the room at night. Make sure you wear a shower cap before stepping into the shower because the showerheads are not working properly.
They have a lovely restaurant. A lovely place overall.
- Musiya (8/5): Good Hotel Amazing Restaurant - Was staying here for 6 nights while on a business trip. The rooms was ok. I felt the mattress needed replacing and I stopped getting pillow cases at some point. The beat thing about this place was the restaurant. The ambience is lovely! The manager warm and friendly. The food was awesome and super delicious. Would definitely stay there again but only because of the restaurant.
- RobertK638 (4/5): Fine for a place to sleep - We stayed for two nights at this hotel. It wasn't great but was fine to have a bed to sleep in. The room was pretty small but comfortable enough. The breakfast at the hotel was really terrible. It was a buffet with not many appetizing options. The people working at the hotel also seemed pretty uninterested. The wifi didn't work very well at all. The location is ok near a mall with some amenities and not super far from the more touristy area of Windhoek. I would recommend trying to find somewhere else to stay while you are in town.
- rayatkinson (6/5): Pleasant enough stay - We stayed here two nights before joining an organised trip of Namibia. The room was basic but comfortable enough. The safe in our first room did not work so they moved us next door. Unfortunately the safe there had no door! A minor inconvenience but I do take security seriously. Wifi worked in the room OK.
The hotel has a very nice small garden that was very pleasant to sit in and have a drink or two. Also a tiny pool but that looked a little neglected so we didn't venture into that.
The surprise at the hotel was the restaurant, which was very nice indeed and served a wonderful steak. Breakfast was also simple but good. The staff, especially in the restaurant, were exceptional. Very friendly and helpful which was most welcome at our first every stay in Namibia.
The only downside might be the location. It is opposite a shopping mall which is very convenient, but when we walked away from the hotel hoping to stretch our legs a bit, we were advised to go back by a police officer who suggested that we were not safe. Similarly I spent some time birdwatching in the waste ground next door, and was told by a passing local that I was taking a big risk and should be careful. We had no choice as the hotel was booked as part of our tour package, but possible we might have been a bit more secure in the town centre. However, I'm sure that would reflect in the price.
- GohKL (8/5): A nice & comfortable hotel - Stayed in this hotel for a night. It was a comfortable and clean hotel. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Good breakfast as well. Near to a very big mall so very convenient for food, shopping, etc. I would recommend this hotel to all travellers.
- l0rilainyc (6/5): Mixed reviews on the hotel - We arrived at 6:00pm and checked into our room. The bathroom light was out and when we informed the front desk she told us only the maintenance person could change it so there was nothing they could do. They didn't offer any solution not even a different room. We dined at the restaurant and they didn't have several items on the menu so we were very limited in our choices. Others in our group thought their rooms were fine and felt the hotel was basic but met their needs.
