Outside grounds are landscaped with beautifully kept flowers and bushes. The front porch is welcoming with rocking chairs and other furniture for relaxing outdoors. The owners made us feel welcomed and were very friendly. We enjoyed the home cooked breakfast with plentiful juice and coffee. The B & B is located close to Short Sands and it’s an easy, short ride to Ogunquit.

A bit of variety and/or creativity could improve that. The photos in the listing were a bit misleading regarding proximity to the beach. There was no ocean or bay view and a beach day would require a car. Overall our stay was relaxing and pleasant.

• David (10/5): A wonderful stay at the Bittersweet B&B - We just returned from a 3 night stay at the Bittersweet Bed & Breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Check-in was easy and our room was excellent! We enjoyed our breakfast outside on the covered porch, so relaxing! Our hosts were gracious, professional and welcoming, offering good suggestions for dinner in nearby restaurants and friendly conversation. The location of the B&B was excellent, just south of Ogunquit and just north of York. The outlet shopping at Kittery was a short drive away. We highly recommend a stay here, without question!

• Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely stay close to the beach - We came for the weekend to visit the area, and had such a lovely stay. We have stayed in several bed and breakfast before, and this was one of the most clean locations we have stayed at. The bed was comfortable, breakfast was delicious, and the location of the property itself was very convenient to visiting the local area. We were able to walk to short sands beach in about 10 minutes, and also walked to dinner at the local lobster pound as well. Our hosts were also very friendly and offered good suggestions of sites to visit in the local area. We would definitely stay here again!

All of my friends stayed at a hotel about four miles away and I am so happy I chose this quiet and peaceful B&B. It was walking distance to York Village and a little local market across the street. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

Everything was spotless and meticulously decorated. Breakfast ... OMG ... Victor's blueberry muffins are to die for! We also had eggs & bacon. Yogurt, toast, etc options were available as well. Victor and Ray were great hosts. They are friendly, knowledgeable and available if you need anything. Our trip started & ended with smiles. Highly recommend!

• Elizabeth (10/5): Welcoming and Charming Bed and Breakfast! - This Bed and Breakfast was so clean and beautiful. the grounds were well groomed and the flower beds were amazing and all kept up by Victor and Ray. They were very friendly and attentive but not in your face. We wanted to have a cup of tea at night and Ray was happy to oblige . The wrap around porch was great to sit on to have breakfast in the morning or our tea at night while sitting in the rocking chairs. Location was great and it was quiet at night to sleep. Would highly recommend. We hope to go back again.

The room was really nice but some thought could be put into the furniture. There was a pedestal sink in the bathroom and no place to put anything. Also, no place to hang towels. An over the door towel bar would work without disrupting the design. In the bedroom there was one giant chair that we couldn't both fit into and no table. My suggestion would be two chairs at the foot of the bed with a table in between. The room would benefit from a small writing desk also.

• barbara (10/5): fabulous find - Finding this location was great. We had a wonderful stay. Ray and Victor are friendly, helpful, and run a very nice place. The setting is on a somewhat busy road, but offers wonderful, peaceful, places to sit outside. They have fabulous plantings all around the property. Breakfast on the porch is a great start to your day.We enjoyed being able to walk to nearby beaches and restaurants. Many more are a quick drive away.The interior is clean and quite comfortable. Overall, we were quite pleased.
