Guest Reviews
- Estelle (10/5): - Nous avons passé un agréable moment dans ce lodge, l'accueil était excellent, nous avons été bien conseillés au cours de notre séjour sur les différentes activités à faire dans la région.
Le logement était propre et au calme.
- Boshoff (7/5): - The location is great and the atmosphere is nice. The hot water in the showers were not always hot. The gas geaser can not supply sufficient hot water if more than 1 person is taking a shower
- Gert (8/5): Was relaxing and enjoyable. - Meals at the restaurant was delicious. The wildlife around was nice to experience. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The music played at the restaurant.
Think they need to replace the matresses. Very lumpy.

- Prinsloo (10/5): -
- Clément (6/5): -
- Chelo (10/5): - Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Place is super pleasant! Perhaps a small table in bathrooms to put toiletries and a few hooks in tents to be able to hang things like jackets, etc.
- Alet (8/5): -
- Elizabeth (8/5): Lovely get away and would happily stay again - The food is excellent! We ended up eating every meal there. The staff, especially Frank was so helpful in organizing our outings and meals.
- Sisonke (7/5): - It is unique The water was cold
- Samkelisiwe (8/5): Overall the place was beautiful and clean but hard to find using Apple Maps. They could put WiFi in rooms too - The pool is very clean and the rooms are spacious, tidy and comfortable It was so difficult to find using Apple Maps and the owner refused to meet us at the main road so we can drive together to the place. Getting there was such a nightmare, the boards with directions weren’t so clear at night. No WiFi in rooms
- Homairah (8/5): - Staff were very welcoming and a memorable 1stvtime glamping experience The roads
- Jordan (8/5): - Restaurant food is good, they have REAL R&R, the area was nice witha 5 min drive down to kosi lake 3.
very safe it was noisy sometimes from other people in other tents but i guess that is something you cannot control anywhere you go
- Xolani (10/5): -
- Chara (8/5): - Easily accessible by a normal car, attentive staff. Wifi reception which to be fair is poor in the area.
- Johann (9/5): -
- Charlene (7/5): Friendly staff, clean facilities, good location. - Location, accommodation Waited too long for food and drinks. Food not worth the money paid for.
- Michelle (9/5): - We had a great stay at Kingfisher Lodge. The tent is basic, but it has everything that you need. It was lovely to have our own bathroom and our own kitchen set up, that's allocated to your tent number. The location is excellent. Frank was super helpful. We would definitely come back.
- Anna (10/5): Absolutely amazing place. Would recommend it to anyone, lovely hosts -
- Keri Tayla (10/5): Was wonderful, would definitely stay there again. - That each tent had its own bathroom. We had no problems at all.
- Izak (10/5): - Peaceful and quiet
- Tharina (8/5): -
- HBN TRADERS (8/5): We had a amazing 10day family stay. Wonderful staff, always ready and willing to help. Restaurant was impressive we had - THE AIRCON POOL AND RESTAURANT
- Keir (10/5): - Fantastic accommodation that allowed us to explore nature around our accommodation and also easily access some of the key activities that should go with a visit to this corner of the world. The restaurant and bar allowed us to grab a meal if we did not feel like catering for ourselves. We were very happy and will definitely be back.
- Vitaliy (10/5): -
- ROUXTJIE (6/5): -
- Charlotte (10/5): - Our favourite holiday yet. Accommodation was incredible. The food from the restaurant was delicious and cost effective. The staff were very professional. Nothing.

- bester (10/5): - Everything was exceptional
Food amazing and a special thanx to Johan and Franco for there assistance and great service
- Keketso (5/5): Might never go back - The friendliness of the stuff the called to have us place our dinner orders before the kitchen closes, they had a fridge we could use in keeping our groceries... And the guy was kind enough to let us keep our food longer in the fridge.. The bed was super uncomfortable you could feel the spring coils on the sides and the mattress is sooo old and uncomfortable that it moves as you turn on the bed...
I didn't catch even a couple of hours of sleep because the tree on top of the tent kept on dropping seeds and they would make a huge noise banging on the roof sheeting..
The fact that the manager doesn't take accountability, if I order something and you bring me the other do not gaslight me, a side portion of chips and a plate of chips will never be the same amount.. I ordered a bottle of water instead of admitting the water is hot he brought me a huge glass filled with ice I didn't ask for...
I hate people who are underhanded and think they are smart
- Otto (6/5): - Ablution away from cottage Single bed
- chiracq (CJ) (8/5): -
- Sandra (9/5): - Was perfect accommodation for a night stop on the way to Mozambique
- Tessa (10/5): Delighted with their tasteful unique accomodation and warm welcome. - Really tastefully done simple accomodation . The kids loved the fun of being half tent, beds comfortable, everything super clean, staff very friendly and phoned to check in on us before we arrived to help with directions. We arrived late and left early as we were on a schedule so we didn't hang around to try the pool or cafe. Internet not very strong but that didn't affect us. Part of being off the beaten track.
- Simone (9/5): -
- Guillermo (10/5): Close to nature for a peaceful stay -
- Scotch Malembili (8/5): - Uniqueness and building style make Kingfisher Bush Lodge stunning. Long gravel road to the venue.
- Scotch Malembili (8/5): - Perfect for backpacking and off-road adventure. Its uniqueness makes it less appreciated by those who don't want adventure.
- Daniel_246 (10/5): - Kids loved the tented camp! Only stayed one night and all was good.
- Robert (4/5): Good food, small very dark tents, stained kitchen walls, poorly informed staff. - The food was good, reasonably priced. The pool was clean. Tiny dark tents with dark green interiors, thick shadecloth windows and only one light, made it very difficult to see inside. The kitchen walls were rough cement, with food stains. The staff sent me on recognised 4x4 bush route, but the bridge had washed away months before. Wasted day. They should know what is happening in their area.
- Tran (9/5): -
- Maseeha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tendani (7/5): Good -
- Frenette (8/5): Very good -
- Dr (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yan (8/5): Very good -
- Nosipho (8/5): Very good - The layout of the place is lovely The sand is very soft, you need a big car to move around comfortably.
- Wendy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janine (5/5): Passable - The advertisement states the room has a private bathroom and kitchen. So any logilaly thinking person would assume it's part of your unit. Not in this case. The bathroom is in another building and the kitchen is in yet another building. Please update your advertisement
- Rowan (10/5): Amazing location, comfy bed, great value for money - Amazing location, comfy bed, great value for money
- João (9/5): Pleasant Surprise - We had an amazing time at Kingfisher Lodge in Kosi Bay! The setting is peaceful and beautifully integrated with nature — perfect for a relaxing escape. The chalets are clean, spacious, and well-equipped, offering comfort while still giving you a sense of being close to the wild.
The hosts were incredibly warm and accommodating, always ready to help with tips about local activities. There is a restaurant in the premises and the service throughout our stay was outstanding.
A special highlight for our family was Voly (not sure if it’s spelled correctly), the lodge’s friendly dog, who became the perfect companion for our son during our stay — gentle, playful, and always nearby with a wagging tail. It really made the experience even more memorable.
Whether you’re looking for adventure or just a quiet break surrounded by nature, Kingfisher Lodge is the place.
- Grant (8/5): Very good -
- Bianca (6/5): Pleasant stay, beautiful beaches - Owners were very nice and corrected all the issues we had with facility right away, the area is nice a quiet, the beaches were my favourite part, it is a drive away from the facility. However, the locals are extremely friendly and helpful. 4X4 is required or you might not be able to get the breaches. Almost no Wi-Fi connection in the rooms, but is a nice break from reality. The Breakfast, you can only choose either a hot or a cold breakfast (This is the breakfast that is included in the property)
You can order from their menu but that does cost extra.
- Serge (8/5): Always a lovely stay at Kingfisher Lodge - we will definitely visit again soon! -
- La (7/5): Good -
- Bradley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mari (9/5): Superb - We love this as a sleep over on our way into Mozambique. The little shop here is a win and the restaurant serves good home cooked food. Few maintenence issues, but was attended to when asked.
- Lauren (8/5): Very good -
- Jacobs (7/5): Average - Own bathroom. The swimming pool. Bathroom not en-suite, facilities were basic. Communal kitchen. Bathroom and kitchen far from room. No double/queen size bed.
- Futhie (8/5): Very good -
- Anna (8/5): Very good -
- Theuns (5/5): Pleasant stay but not worth the money - It is situated in a beautiful environment very peaceful, great bird viewing and overall pleasant. The staff is very helpful and friendly Tent was cleaned daily.. The tent is very poorly equipped. Kitchen had a broken kettle, gas stove not fully functioning, pan and pots really needs to be replaced,.Cutlery very poor.Shower door also problematic. This tent should not be advertised as self catering. Our bed was had a very uncomfortable mattress but it was replaced.
- Gert (9/5): It was very relaxing with a friendly atmosphere. - Loved the onsite restaurant. The food was delicious every time. Service was excellent. Staff was very helpful.
We had a bit of a problem with our shower and it was sorted in a timely manner. Will definitely return. Nothing.
- Tracey (9/5): Superb -
- Stephanie (10/5): Exceptional - There's nothing to complain about, it was an amazing getaway! The staff are very helpful and go out their way to make sure you have everything you need. The accommodation was great value for money. Would definitely stay there again!
- Cerette (9/5): It was trulu - We enjoyed the rooms with your own bathroom and kitchen.
We loved the restaurants food and service. a better shower as ours were broken and had to be replaced.
Also the mattress was completely worn out, to sleep on a mattress like that for 7 nights called for some pain killers for the muscles.
- Noni (10/5): The staff was amazing. The whole lodge has a homely feeling. We enjoyed our stay - We did self-catering but a fellow guest said breakfast was amazing. Nothing
- Kathinka (5/5): Not a place I would rush back to. - Every day there was something not working, electra tripped several times at night. No hot water most of the time. Staff was there but attitude was that if you ask something is was too much to ask. The sounds of the frogs, nice clean pool.
- Sharon (9/5): Superb -
- Thandi (8/5): Right name, right location - The bush. Water on the bathroom floor
- Rajshekhar (8/5): A very beautiful place to stay and enjoy the surroundings. - It was our first experience of a bush lodge. The accommodation was self-catering, very cosy, very quite and comfortable, and we loved it. Just do not forget to carry mosquito/ insect repellent. You can easily reach the Bush Lodge in a regular car with good ground clearance. A 4x4 is a must to visit the Kosy Bay mouth, the lake and other tourist attractions. I highly recommend this place. An insect repellent or a UV insect catcher.
- Stephanie (8/5): We enjoyed our stay very much! We will come again. - Location is beautiful and the tent was very comfortable. It would have been nice to have had more comfortable outdoor seating and seating around the pool
- Colleen (8/5): Very good - Staff were friendly, and it was a nice quiet location The Mosquitoes
- Johan (10/5): GREAT - BREAKFAST GREAT
LOCATION EXCELLENT
- Rowan (9/5): Staff where helpful, aircon great and pool was so good. Breakfast was also nice - Staff where helpful, aircon great and pool was so good.

Perhaps needs Shade cloth cover to assist
- Sylvia (8/5): Very good - Back to basic, but beautiful location and lovely swimming pool. There was a lot of noise from a Christmas party in the area.
- Beverley (7/5): A comfortable stay in a good location. We were glad to have air conditioning as it was very hot - We didn’t have the breakfast as the restaurant was closed on New Years day

- Paul (7/5): The safari tents are located in a nice shady area, with a lot of trees. - The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant served good food at a reasonable price. The swimming pools were clean and refreshing after a very hot day. The communal kitchen for the safari tents needs a deep clean and some utensils, cutting boards, need to be replaced. The showers also need a good cleaning.
- Leslie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hennie (8/5): Very good -
- Andrea (8/5): Very good -
