Guest Reviews
La posizione fantastica, appena sopra all’ “America “ e vicino a qualsiasi cosa… Durante questo tour siamo stati in diversi alberghi e ,come in tutti,i letti piccoli. Penso siano standard della Bolivia ma a me,alto 1,80 quindi non eccessivo ,risultano essere molto scomodi

- Denise (9/5): Great stay. Sorry it was so short. - Great breakfast. Nothing.

- Manuel E. (10/5): Great location, very comfortable and friendly. - The friendliness of the owner and her daughter. It feels like staying at home.
- Cynthia (10/5): Adorable boutique hotel - Very clean, safe and in a great location. Room and bathroom was a good size. I was very comfortable. Breakfast was yummy and delicious, yogurt with fruit and nut add ins. Very sweet, professional and helpful front desk staff. Pizza is delicious. My rooms was sound proof, couldn't here anything. I loved everything.
- Antonio (10/5): -
- Durango (8/5): Serena - El jardín y el desayuno
- Fernando (6/5): Na - Na Na
- Leah (8/5): Nice hotel at quiet location, excellent breakfast. - The small rooms are cosy, the breakfast was excellent. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood not too far from the city center.
The staff working in the kitchen/ restaurant was very friendly. Payment issue: It is clearly best to pay in USD or EUR. If you don’t, the owner applies an absurd exchange rate for Bolivianos, which we found frankly outrageous. She even told us that we would “soon notice” this was the case all over Bolivia. However, we traveled the country for another month afterwards and never once experienced anything like this again.
- Guardino (9/5): -
- Lukas (9/5): - Todo perfecto.
- BenPatient (10/5): - Stunning room, great restaurant, lovely people. We'd stay again next we are in CBB
- Henry (10/5): A wonderful little b&b with incredibly thoughtful staff and a home-like atmosphere. - Comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Felt like home.
- Daniel (10/5): Perfect place for a family holiday. - Beautiful property and lovely owners. Highly recommend staying here for a family. Nothing, literally perfect!
- Michael (10/5): Margarita’s little hotel is a perfect place from which to base your exploration of Cochabamba. - Margarita and the staff treated me like family and their small hotel is like my home. It was comfortable, charming, and excellent in every way, and the pizza and lasagna were terrific. Everything was great. The staff accommodated my every need.
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional -
- edb2990 (10/5): The Best!!! - I can't write enough good things about Casa de Margarita. It's located in a quiet and simply gorgeous area of Cochabamba. The hotel is beautiful with lovely gardens. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. Doña Margarita was the best. She went out of her way to make us feel at home. We had a wonderful pizza dinner at the hotel and it was outstanding. After 3 days in Uyuni, this was truly a relaxing and wonderful place to chill out. HIGHLY recommended!
- Edward (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Denise (9/5): Very pleasant stay. - Excellent breakfast. Can't think of anything.
- Laura (9/5): Friendly, professional and empathetic guest house. Margarita was exceedingly supportive when we encountered a health iss - Location, comfortable and homely. Nothing, except the pizza restaurant operates every night so there’s a bit less privacy.
- Bianca (5/5): Too loud, had to cancel second night - Great location No parking available even though requested, very loud neighbourhood
- Harlan (9/5): Extremely comfortable stay. - Secure. Location close to cafes. Staff and owner were exceptionally helpful. Friday and Saturday night there is a disco nearby and the music goes on until 2 AM. Avoid or bring noise cancellation earbuds.
- Salazar (9/5): Superb - The location and looks as your house It’s a litle old
- Lena (9/5): Superb -
- Ana (10/5): I highly recommend a stay in this beautiful house owned by the warm and welcoming Doña Margarita. - Fatima and later Doña Margarita clearly and with great warmth explained all I needed to know about my beautiful room, breakfast and the homemade pizzas available from 5-11pm. All staff were kind and accommodating. My room had a balcony facing the lovely garden.
- Ana (9/5): Lovely. A warm welcoming simple place to feel at home when visiting Cochabamba - Absolutely beautiful home Re created as a small boutique hotel.
With an adorable pizzeria built alongside and in it
That was delicious and very romantic
Perfect for a small reunion or intimate conversation w friends
The staff and Margarita felt like family when one of our group took sick They were all so helpful and kind. Truly service is as yet a personal well accomplished gracious art form in la casa de la margarita. If they ever put in a sauna or jacuzzi I’m sure guests would love it. But it’s perfect as is.
- Jhosep (9/5): Cochabamba - Nice location, at night their restaurant opens to the public. Delicious pizza :) During the day, the main door remains closed, it is necessary to ring the bell and wait for a moment
- Karsten (9/5): Very nice stay at La Casa de Margarita - Very lovely place. The owner of the hotel (her name is Margarita) takes care of the service and quality and makes sure that every guest is content. She was always available and has a great staff. The location is safe, the suburb is lovely for walking, sports, dining, chilling. The city center (main square: plaza 14 de septiembre) is easily reached by taxi or within a nice walk of 40 minutes. There aren't so many great hotels in Cochabamba, I can really recommend La Casa de Margarita and would return anytime. Please be aware that there is a pizzeria within the same house that opens from 5 pm to 11 pm each day. The noise is low, but noticeable. If you need complete silence, ask for a respective room. We stayed in the ground floor and heard some music from the pizzeria, but were not bothered.
- Lidia (6/5): - It was a tired presentation of the room. There was no tea and coffee facility with in the room , no bar fridge nor ceiling fan or air conditioning. There was no replacement of soaps or lotions during the stay. We were in a family room and we had to ask for the mattresses to be replaced for the children because they were poor and not able to sleep in. As the ventilation was poor we had to keep the door partially opened and mosquitoes would come in. The location was great. The restaurant was great but limited in choice. I would only suggest this facility for a short stay 1-2 nights max.
- Gwynneth (10/5): Exceptional -
- M. (9/5): very nice, walking distance to everything - the staff, service.
great Pizza
- Reiner (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel Casa de Margarita is an excellent place to relax in the busy town of Cochabamba. It is a boutique hotel with a restaurant serving very nice meals, set in an exclusive garden, in a central location of the town. The owner and her attentive and helpful staff make sure, that you will feel totally at home. The service and the facilities are perfect. Definitely a place to return, if one has the opportunity.
- Mmr (10/5): Home away from home - Staff made us feel welcome and at home from the very beginning. The family room we were staying in was huge, as was the bathroom with a double shower and hot water and good pressure. The hotel is close to attractions like Cristo de la Concordia and Palacio Portales as well as a myriad of cafés and restaurants and shopping places. Breakfast is especially appealing to cereal lovers. The room on the ground floor that my parents were staying in was rather small and the sensor hyper sensitive. Every movement in bed caused the night light to go on.
- Jacob (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kristin (10/5): Exceptional - lots of charm, huge bathroom
- Tristan (9/5): Home away from home in one of the best locations in Cochabamba - Great location and secure free parking available. Very friendly and attentive staff who felt like family. The hotel itself is very unique and really feels like a home away from home. One aspect that was a little disappointing was the service in the restaurant in the evening. Although the food and wine was very good, the service was unfortunately extremely slow and the servers lacked attention, for example we ordered a lasagne which never arrived and the drinks we ordered weren’t served until after our food had arrived.
- Julia (10/5): - Everything was great. The stay was calm and we felt like home. My daughter got sick and they were very helpful.
The place is very friendly, clean and near everything.
- Sebastián (10/5): Exceptional -
- Melanie (9/5): Mi casa es tú casa! Beautiful place, amazing host, homely stay and close to the center. - Margarita and her staff are extremely friendly and helpful hosts, you feel at home and you can use many spots in the house, living area and garden to relax. We also had to work remotely and used the balcony therfore. Wlan was working well.
Their Pizzaria and the selection of food and drinks is great. We were happy with the laundry and ironing service. The walls are a bit thin, but was OK for us. It's not the cheapest option but worth it.
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional - The breakfast was fantastic. Yogurt with a tray of goodies to mix in. Great coffee and eggs. The hotel needs to develop a small map to show taxi drivers. We had 4 or 5 taxis refuse to take us because they could not figure out where the hotel was. Also, hotel needs bigger signs out on the street where they can be seen.
- Alison (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay! The staff and food are both incredible. You literally never need to leave the property. Beautiful!
- Gigi (10/5): Highly recommended hotel - The hotel was lovely. There’s a lot of cute amazing things within the hotel. There’s a library and lots of board games. The hotel staff were amazing. We met the owners and they are amazing. The hotel restaurant serves great food. The hotel was like 15 minutes from the airport. The hotel has a lot of common spaces outside our room. We hang out in all of those common spaces. There’s also a big garden (which is part of the restaurant). Our room was clean and tidy. I put in a request the night before and it was actioned straight away. Our room was spacious (it has a walk in closet). The hot shower had good water pressure. The only thing we were not impressed with is the breakfast. There was very limited option.
- Sören (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bjorn (9/5): Superb -
- Farrell (8/5): Safe, cute & clean w/great staff, but can be noisy - Staff was SUPER friendly, helpful and accommodating. Super cute boutique hotel in safe & secure location; facilities were clean. Some staff members spoke English. Breakfast was pretty good, though coffee could have been a bit stronger:) Breakfast was yogurt w/toppings such as fruit, nuts, oats, etc.; bread; juice; cheese. Lots of restaurants, cafes, public transit, etc. nearby, within walking distance. The beds weren't as comfy as we had hoped. The boutique also has a restaurant so some nights there is noise from that. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay but our main complaint is the hotel is located a block from a club and on Friday and Saturday nights, it is open late, so you can hear the loud, booming music and they also set off firecrackers in the street at about 2am on both nights, which woke us up.
- 958phillipp (10/5): Highly recommended boutique hotel - The hotel is small but attractive and comfortable. Good beds, bath, and service. Very clean, friendly and efficient staff. Located in the northern part of the city near restaurants, the city's best supermarket, and a lovely park that is great for walking or jogging. At the end of a cul-de-sac off a quiet street so there is little to disturb a guest who wants to rest and get a good night's sleep. Breakfast included with fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, excellent breat and cheese, fresh fruit juice, and good coffee. The restaurant offers lunch and in the evening they make excellent pizza with sourdough crust cooked in a wood-fired oven.
- rodolfow15 (10/5): A sophisticated private lunch or dinner. - If you love your privacy and at the same time you want to be in a special place for a special occasion, go to la casa de Margaritas. Here you will find a home like atmosphere with a brisk of colonial times. You can try from a selected chosen tasty international plates, like paellas, octopus, a la gallega, different pastas and other sea food as well as pizzas (in the evening) accompanied with well hosen economic wines.
The price is reasonable and the service excellent. You will be greeted by the owner , Mrs Margarita that is interested in making you feel at home and accommodate any (reasonable) wishes you may have.
- darinab2013 (10/5): Wonderful stay, Margarita is an amazing host - I can’t say enough about the hospitality of our host & the beauty of the property. Beautiful indoor & outdoor common spaces for all the guests to enjoy & a wonderful library/reading room on the top floor to relax & unwind. Large bathrooms with great water pressure ( not so common during other parts of our 3 weeks in Bolivia 😉). The casa is located in a great walking area with parks & shopping so it is also convenient.
Unfortunately I got a stomach bug during our stay from a local restaurant, but Margarita cared for me like a family member, bringing me tea in bed & other remedies. If I ever return to Cochabamba I would definitely stay there again.
- garymargolis (10/5): A perfect stay! - Our family of three adults and two children stayed at La Casa de Margarita for three nights and had a wonderful time. Margarita is warm, welcoming, friendly and helpful. She had great suggestions for places to visit and eat and helped us to arrange transport around the city and to the airport. Her home is spotlessly clean and very pretty with comfortable beds and hot showers, and her breakfasts were delicious and healthy. Thank you for a perfect stay!
- 193emile (10/5): EXCELLENT BY ALL STANDARDS - Casa de La Margarita is by far the best Boutique Hotel I have stayed in during my travels through Bolivia. The host Margarita is very passionate in what she does and this is noticeable by her enthusiasm that I observed throughout my stay. She is very meticulous in everything she does and attentive to all the needs of the guests.
Rooms are ample in space, sufficient power points, warm and cosy. Lighting is sufficient and bed very comfortable. Bathroom is modern, with good water pressure and hot water. The landscaping is fabulous with beautiful flowers, shrubs and plants. This presents an atmosphere for one to sit in the garden and just relax.
- carlosu619 (10/5): AMAZING - This is the best ...yes the BEST boutique hotel I have ever stayed at... staff is attentive, rooms immaculate clean, spectacular garden and location is the best, I would go back to Cochabamba just to stay at this place again ... congratulations!!!!
- Rosemary215 (10/5): A Great Place to Stay - This small friendly hotel has very comfortable rooms, a lovely garden and a delicious breakfast. The hotel has attractively decorated common areas both inside and out for guests to use. The owners are very attentive, bi-lingual and make you feel very welcome. It is located in a good suburb close to a large supermarket and many restaurants. Palacio Portales is a 5 minute walk away and it is 10 minutes walk to Boulevard Recoleta.
