Guest Reviews
- Ori (8/5): Staying at beautiful magical Chateau Pont Rilly - Wonderful! A once in a lifetime opportunity to stay in a magnificent Chateau taken from the fairy tales. The owners are very nice, the place is clean and decorated with grace, with attention to every little detail and great ancient artifacts and restoration work done. The grounds are beautiful. Breakfast was served with splendor and friendly service, though I would add 2-3 local cheeses and a soft/hard boiled egg.
The downside would be that it is NOT AT ALL suited for old/disabled people, there's no elevator and the staircases are circular and slippery with only a rope for a rail. Also the toilet seat in the room is made of ..... wood, which is clean, but still somewhat weird... Perhaps, the cupboard should contain single-use toilet seat-covers, just in case. Wifi is also lacking in performance, it can only be found in the lobby and not in the rooms, this may also be considered as an advantage because you really get the "old times" experience, but still it is important to know. Double Beds are Princess-size (slightly smaller than Queen Size).
All in all, a tremendous experience, and the bathtubs were the best!!! Try to ask for the room with the FRONT view, it's the best!
- Lindsey (2/5): Do not stay in the boulangerie. - My husband and I booked 4 nights in the boulangerie. It looked just like the quaint, cozy pictures online. Unfortunately it smelled like a wet smokey fireplace downstairs, which was also freezing. And upstairs it smelled like a moldy/mildew mess. It was mostly the 2nd bedroom that smelled like that but even with the door shut I could barely breathe. And then the radiator in the main bedroom hammered on and off ALL night long. My husband is an eagle scout and can sleep almost anywhere, he woke up the following morning, after sleeping on a mattress from the 60s!!! And said, we're leaving now! I have had enough. We just had American Express give us our money back and headed over to Chateau isle Marie in Picauville, France. Now that is a charming, warm, comfortable place! We highly recommend it! No foul smells, no hammering radiator, and the beds are comfortable.
- Martin (10/5): Amazing venue, run by an amazing couple - We had an amazing stay. Annick and Jean Jaques made the stay all the better. The home made breakfasts were a delight and Annick even went out of her way to have breakfast ready for our 5am departure on the last morning.
Her and Jean Jaques showed us around the entire house and all of the hard work they’ve done renovating the place since buying it in 1982. It is a real credit to them.
I would highly reccomend staying there and we will definitely return.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Sehr schönes restauriertes Schloss mit sehr angenehmen Schlossherren.
