- Ann (9/5): Lovely cottage getaway, close to Bruny Island ferry. - Lovely quiet location. Comfortable cottage with everything we needed to enjoy our stay, also a deck looking out into horse paddock and bushland. Very friendly and informative hosts. Lots of wildlife in the area . Most enjoyable, would highly recommend a visit. Nothing
- Leanne (10/5): Lovely country style setting and very comfortable. - Separate unit in a farm setting with lots of area inside and outside on the deck. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped. There was plenty of hanging space for clothes. The kind of place you could spend some time at and feel at home. The owner personally greeted us and was very helpful. N/A
- Leonie (9/5): Relaxing and value for money - The location had easy access for ferry to Bruny Island. The breakfast provided was more than ample and 2 people for 2 days and was much appreciated (eggs, bacon, tomatoes, mushroom, bread, butter etc). Liked being able to sit on verandah watching wallabies, goat and horse very peaceful. Can recommend Oyster Cove Inn nearby for dinner. Nothing
- Sally (10/5): - Parnella was a lovely place to stay . Jonathon and Sue were very obliging and lovely to meet. Would highly recommend. The bed was very comfy and the bedding was really good also which I think is the mist important factor when renting g out accommodation
- Joy (10/5): Exceeded our expectations. Wish we had booked for two nights instead of the one we did. - The quality of the furniture and fittings far exceeded our expectations. The size of the bathroom was huge Nothing
- Steuer (10/5): -

Absolutely loved the stay and look forward to staying again. Congrats to the hosts for providing such a lovely place to get away from things and absolutely loved seeing the wildlife and getting to meet the horse. Nothing not to like.

The view of the horse

- Oleg (10/5): Will come again - Green, peaceful and relaxing. Birds sing, wallaby family graze and bees hum in the bushes. Great hosts, great location to just get away from everything and recharge If I had to nitpick then perhaps only that second bedroom had a double bed so my daughters had to share. But that’s their problem, I had a great time
- Elizabeth (10/5): Fantastic Getaway Cottage - Wonderful stay at Parnella Kettering. Highly recommend
- Errol (9/5): The best bookings.com accommodation I have had the privilege to utilise. - Well maintained and thoughtfully appointed. Clean, comfortable, beautiful views, generous hosts. Nil.
- Doug (8/5): Our stay was only brief, but very comfortable and our host was most welcoming - The host has thought about everything that we might want and our stay exceeded our expectations Nothing
- ka chun (10/5): A wonderland before heading to Bruny Island - We arrived Kettering so late but Jonathan was waiting with warm greeting to us! The vicinity area of the house was so nice and wildlife was running around! We observed a few Pademelons, Nativehen, Swift Parrots, and Eastern Barred Bandicoot! That was a paradise for wildlife lover like us and we loved to come here again.
Other than wildlife, a Pony was just living near us and she (he?) was so adorable! (Why did I plan for JUST STAYING 1 NIGHT here?!)
- Elizabeth (10/5): Almost perfect - A great little 2 bedder that suited our needs perfectly.
We particularly loved feeding your horse
The owner was very personable and informative Tv in bedroom doesnt work.

- Alexandria (10/5): - Parnella Kettering is a peaceful boutique retreat, tucked away on 5 acres of tranquil garden land at 29 Bloomsbury Lane in Kettering. It is a great base for exploring Bruny island as the ferry is just a few minutes drive away. The property is quiet and secluded, clean and fitted with great amenities (towel warmer! and coffee machine). Also had fun getting to know the resident horse (gave him a carrots and apples) and of course the pademelons. The owners Sue and Jonathan are welcoming and ensured that we had everything we need. It was cold and wet the day we arrived and we were pleasantly welcomed with a warm room (thank you for turning on the heater before we arrived) and towels and chocolate fudge ! I hope we stayed longer ! Nothing
- Teresa (10/5): A lovely overnight stay. Very comfortable. Loved Patch the horse - The peaceful location Nothing

- Fiona (10/5): Spoilt by host - Beautiful, clean, simple but so comfortable !
- Jim (10/5): - Lovely apartment in a rural setting. Loved the horse, wallabies & birdlife. Very peaceful & comfie bed.
- J&R (10/5): - We loved the Garden House it not only suited our needs but was so comfortable and clean. Everything about the House was perfect, and the owners had gone out of their way to add extra comforts, including breakfast items. Nothing
- Nina (10/5): Amazing place to escape from the busy city life - It was spotless clean, the kitchen super equipped and the beds and blankets so cosy you never wanted to get up. The spa bath looked amazing too we just had no time to try it. 1 night definitely too short to stay. Hosts are very friendly too! Having to leave
- Byron (10/5): Awesome location and surroundings. Great hosts and accommodation. Definitely stay again. - Lovely property at the top of a hill. Quiet surroundings with a lovely sky. Host met us as we were arriving late.
- Lynne (10/5): -
- Gerry (10/5): - Peace and quiet having to leave
- Natalie (8/5): -
- Bartosz (10/5): -
- Lynette (9/5): Perfect for us , close to the Bruny Island Ferry and the fantastic Sea Wall Restaurant . - Parnella is a small family run business located on the grounds of a working farm. Our accommodation was warm, spotless and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable.
The property is well maintained and easy to locate. Nothing
- Jing (8/5): -
- TW26 (10/5): - Loved the attention to detail; Jonathan the property owner called us a day or two before our stay to make sure we were confident with how to get there and how to access our unit. We arrived after dark, the lights and heater were on. The property is so quiet and peaceful, so relaxing. This was our second time staying at Parnella and we will stay again! Its the perfect get away for a couple! Nothing
- Xiang (10/5): -
- Katica (10/5): Beautiful hosts. Beautiful location. 10/10 -
- Akshay (10/5): - Location, Host, Cleanliness & Complimentary breakfast We loved it all.
- Jane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mehtap (10/5): Excellent 2 bedroom - The day before we checked in we received detailed instructions on how to get to the property, where to park, where the keys will be and where the closest shops are. This information was highly valuable - it was accurate and detailed. The host is friendly and very accommodating. It's a spacious two bedroom with a living and kitchen area. It was clean and well kept. It was too cold for us to sit outside so we didn't use the BBQ or outdoor sitting area. The heating on was sufficient and the fireplace worked great! Kettering is a quiet area - day and night. I will definitely stay again. Nothing at all.
- Rosalind (9/5): Comfortable and tastefully presented studio in a rural setting - We really liked the outlook, layout and comfortable feel of the studio, as well as the modern appliances. The property had a nice rural feel to it with a horse pen and lovely horse only metres away from our deck. Our host, Jonathan, was very welcoming and accommodating and provided a lot of valuable information about this part of Tasmania. We would definitely stay here again. The sounds of a stray rooster 🐓 in the morning was the only downside, but we were staying in a rural area after all.
- Cath (9/5): Superb -
- Dorothy (10/5): A great spot to refresh and unwind. Loved it - A light breakfast was a bonus, just enough to get us started. Property needs some attention, but it was quiet and peaceful.
- Eda (10/5): Perfect stay…a bit too short but hopefully there will be another visit sometime in the future. - Perfect country style accommodation that felt luxurious at the same time. Amazing value for money. Was very glad to receive the “how to get there” message as we may have struggles to find it. The small issues we had were very quickly dealt with by Jonathon, an amazing and accommodating host.
- Peter (10/5): great place to stay - Friendly host and great location The place was great
- Marion (10/5): Excellent boutique accommodation in a gorgeous part of the world. - Excellent facilities, generous supplies to get us started Nothing although the rooster took a bit of getting used to
- Curwen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jill (10/5): A perfect place in a perfect position for visitors to the area, including Bruny Island. - The stay at Parnella Kettering was above and beyond anything we expected. Special mention of the personal welcome by Host Jonathan and the basket of ‘introductory’ goodies - including a full litre of milk and a loaf of fresh bread! Exceptional quality furnishings and decor throughout. It was a brilliantly convenient position from which to visit Bruny Island. Also we drove round the peninsula visiting Cygnet and Huonville. Nearby beaches at Conningham and Snug were good for short walks.

- Brent (8/5): Memorable - The breakfast selection was excellent. Far more than we were expecting and what we have received in other short stay accommodations.
- Ray (10/5): Clean, modern, peaceful and quiet in a bush setting. - If you want a quiet peaceful location then Parnella Kettering is No. 1. The breakfast provided was exceptional, facilities modern and very clean, Host Jonathan was so helpful and friendly. Couldn't ask more from a host. Wildlife came to your door each evening which included potoroos, pademelons and little bush wrens. You have ensure you take any extra provisions with you, as there are no stores or supermarket in Kettering. The close by Oyster Cove Inn has a restaurant, but very basic Australian style meals only and no soups or standalone salads on the menu.
- Vicki (10/5): Enjoyable stay, everything we needed for a weekend away - Relaxed, exceptionally clean, comfortable and lovely outlook. Owners welcoming
- Heather (10/5): A delightful, cosy place from which to explore the area and catch up with friends from Bruny Island. - The starter pack of breakfast and other goodies lasted us the three days NA
- Lynette (9/5): Superb -
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Diana (10/5): Super comfortable place to stay - Excellent facilities clean and everything thought of Nothing
- Sarah (10/5): So very glad we stayed here- it’s a gem! - Well appointed accommodation with super comfortable bed and quality bed linen; generous breakfast, morning tea and snack supplies; all necessary cooking accessories and dishwashing products. Lovely to have plenty of space in the bathroom including a spacious shower, large bench area for toiletries and a heated towel rack. Local wildlife (paddymelons) frequent the paddock in front of the cottage and the horse also added to our enjoyment.
This is a lovely, comfortable, thoughtfully designed property to stay in. The hosts are clearly focused on ensuring their guests have an enjoyable experience.
Very highly recommended!
- Dianne (9/5): Most enjoyable and would recommend it highly - Quiet and very comfortable…it felt like home with all the extras provided
Next time I’ll take a bag of apples for the paddy melons
- Ian (9/5): Great spot to stay near and close to Kettering - Light breakfast provisions were left for us which provided breakfast for the next morning.
This includes cereal bread butter yogurt and fruit perhaps the front door on the patio door could benefit from a sliding fly screen door.
- Narelle (10/5): Perfect. Peaceful. Luxurious. I felt spoiled and valued. - The location was so close to the ferry! The environs were beautiful, peaceful, secluded and shared delightfully with wildlife - birds and the lovely pademelons (wallaby-like marsupials) and rabbits. There was so much to do close by -- Bruny Island, local produce stores, wineries, distilleries, nature walks, small towns. Our host was friendly (welcoming us upon arrival), informative and uber helpful in providing us with more than we needed. The 'continental breakfast' was more than I expected and the coffee machine very appreciated. I suggested providing a little honey pot which he may take on board, and if he wanted to expand his tea selection, maybe peppermint tea? However, I brought my own tea so no problem there and it gave me an excuse to sample the local honey and provide my own. All the TV platforms (streaming) that I could have wanted was catered for. The bathroom was HUGE and well kitted out with toiletries. Towels were luxurious and the beds very comfortable. So perfect a setting and stay. Maybe honey could be offered as part of the continental breakfast (however, the raspberry jam provided was local I think, and excellent quality). Having said that, I didn't expect a breakfast, but certainly appreciated the lovely local bread. Maybe peppermint tea could be offered (green tea was provided, however, and I had my own with me). Herbal tea is becoming quite popular.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Execellent stay - This is a MUST on everyone’s list. Beautiful accomodation, peaceful…. Totally love it Absolutely nothing
- Ed (9/5): Loved our stay - Location was very quiet. Studio villa was good size. Comfy bed. Aircon warmed the room. Comfy seating area. Nice kitchen. We bbqd out on the deck. Husband enjoyed spa. Great size bathroom. Would definitely recommend. Shower which we mentioned to owner.
- Patricia (9/5): Superb -
- Ed (9/5): Great relaxing quiet stay. Definitely recommend - Great size studio cottage with nice deck overlooking spa and field with a horse in it. Wildlife came around. Comfy bed. Lovely breakfast basket. Big bathroom. Shower.
- Jonathan (10/5): Attractive apartment with friendly and helpful host. - Rural location, attention to detail, comfortable furnishings, friendly host, clean and attractive interior. Everything was great.
