Gianni came to meet us in the pouring rain with umbrellas in hand which was really thoughtful. The rooms were clean and the sound of the stream put us to sleep quick quick. We would definitely be back. Location was very central for us for the schools in the area.

• Olivier (8/5): Lovely apartment on a beautiful property. Great location. - A lovely apartment in a great location. The property is so pretty with the stream running through it and the beautiful garden. The owners left for the weekend and left a gentleman to housesit for them. Whilst he was a very charming person, he didn't stop talking and it was difficult to get away from him. I would've liked to walk around the garden and experience the beauty alone, but he followed us everywhere and didn't stop talking.

• Cunliffe (10/5): Exceptional - Such a tranquil little hide away! The stream running through the property makes you feel like you're miles away from anywhere. The owners are lovely and had great suggestions for local places to eat. The outdoor area brings the outside in and doubles your space to chill out with a book or cup of tea. We even had their beautiful Boarder Collie come hang out for the afternoon. We loved it so much we extended our stay - absolute oasis!

• Suzanne (10/5): IT WAS JUST WHAT I NEEDED. - There was no offer of breakfast but there was a fully equipped kitchen so we were able to prepare our own meals. (I am only beginning with this because I was prompted to do so). The host and hostess were wonderful and were willing to help us out wherever they could. Isolde went far beyond her duties as a hostess and treated us with generosity and kindness. The garden is beautiful and the pool is great. I enjoyed hearing the stream when waking in the morning and spending time sitting alongside it but if you want to hang out there for a long time I would advise you have some mosquito repellent I enjoyed the quiet and tranquility and will definitely book this accommodation again when I next visit Pietermaritzburg.

• Wendy-Ann (10/5): A gem of note. - Fantastic! Everything you need. Quiet as in no traffic noise yet the wonderful sound of the water flowing in the stream below. Great birds around. I had read in a review that this was a gem! And it absolutely is. Hard to believe you are so near shops etc. Will definitely stay again.
• Reidar (10/5): The name says it all, this is Eden - Africa's Eden has six guest rooms and sits on a lush, 2 acre private property in the hills above PMB. A friend who comes over from the US regularly recommended this place to me and she has stayed at many places in town. The property borders a nice creek that I have enjoyed from my balcony, and across the creek is a nature preserve, it's absolutely beautiful and incredibly peaceful. The hosts Gianni and Isolde are the best, and their dog Lulu is a sweetheart. I am staying an extra night after returning from my next destination when I found that Karkloof Safari Resort had closed three days ago without notifying me. No problem at all to get my room back for a night. Useful tips: Get a deluxe or family room so you have a kitchen to cook. Not many restaurants in town. My unit had a French press for coffee, ZA has a tea culture, so instant coffee is usually the only option. The bed is super comfortable and the pillow selection good. There's a nice down comforter. Kitchen is well equipped, there's even a cork screw for those of us who love South African wine. There are barbecue grille, they are Weber charcoal grills and you just have to supply your own charcoal. For those from outside South Africa, the tap water is very good, no issues at all. The property is safe and in a very nice area of town.
