Guest Reviews
- Carl (10/5): - Wonderful place to stay.
- Vojtech Skovajsa (8/5): - The owners are the kindest people and the room was very clean, modern and it got plenty of light. The Wi-Fi worked well too and you can rent a bicycle here for free. They also have a water dispenser so you can just fill up your bottle and you don't have to keep buying bottled water. There was some construction going on when I was there so there was some occasional noise (it wasn't terrible though). While the bed was really comfy, I also felt it took a lot of space so the room felt a bit more "occupied". I got used to it after a few days, so it wasn't a big issue.
- cường (10/5): -
- richard (10/5): I loved this hotel and the family who run it and loved the immaculate well decorated room - immaculate room and lovely friendly kind welcoming family/staff nothing
- Ramzi (10/5): Super comfortable bed, great-looking room, and quiet, without being too far out. - So this place was really good, and excellent value, too.
Staff: Everyone is very nice and welcoming. Very fuss-free check-in, and very easy.
Location: Just off one of the slightly busier roads (where I usually stay), and it's notably quieter. Feels tucked away, but without being too far removed from anything. You take a grab to Old Town in about 7 mins or so, so you're not far out.
Bed: Super comfortable, amazing pillows in particular! Very premium quality, I was very impressed!
Room: Absolutely loved the room. The interior design is great and has a very natural aesthetic, which makes you feel like you're staying in a little boutique hotel. The lighting is great, too, especially at night, where you dim the lights and create a cosy atmosphere.
Shower/ bathroom: Also really nice, everything you need, plus, they give you a bunch of amenities, which is a nice touch.
Overall: A very good choice if you're staying here, super comfortable, affordable, and in a great location if you need a bit of peace and quiet, but want to be able to easily get to the action, too. Everything was great here, no complaints!
- Supertries (6/5): Very friendly hosts, but some comfort and maintenance issues - The hosts were extremely kind and helpful throughout our stay. It is a family home, and everyone—from grandparents to children—was respectful and did not cause any disturbance. Communication was handled via WhatsApp and responses were quick.
We appreciated that our luggage was carried upstairs upon arrival and departure. Free bicycles were available and convenient to use for short trips. The location is about 2 km from the old town of Hoi An and around 3 km from the beach, which was manageable.
The room itself felt cozy and had a home-like atmosphere. The room size was adequate, and having a balcony was a nice addition. The Wi-Fi connection was strong, and access to Netflix was a plus. The bedding was clean, and having extra pillows was appreciated. A small refrigerator and a new water jug were also provided, which was convenient. As this is a private home, guests should be aware that the family lives on the same premises across multiple floors. Access involves stairs, main door and the entrance gate is closed around 22:00, requiring guests to ring the bell to enter. While this may not be an issue for everyone, it can feel uncomfortable to disturb the household late at night.
Cleanliness could be improved. While the room appeared tidy, there was dust in less visible areas (e.g., behind furniture and around sockets). No cleaning or linen change was provided during our 5-night stay.
We occasionally used a self-made “do not disturb” note during the day due to the construction noise, as we tried to rest at different times. This was not something provided by the property. The note was removed whenever we left the room, so access for cleaning was possible. When we requested cleaning, this could not be arranged at that time during that afternoon, so it was ultimately not carried out during our stay. We collected fresh towels ourselves when needed.
There were several maintenance issues. At one point, there was no water for several hours including one whole night. Water pressure was inconsistent, and during showers the temperature fluctuated between (no) cold and very hot. The air conditioning was not very effective and may require servicing.
The bathroom had no proper ventilation; although there was a window, it was sealed shut. There was a noticeable sewer odor, so we kept the bathroom door closed. There were also signs of wear and tear that could be better maintained, such as a loose toilet seat, a dirty pipe, and the pipe under the sink coming loose at times and other small matters.
The mattress was usable but showed signs of wear, and springs could be felt in places. Pillow protectors were also missing.
A major downside was the construction work next door. Noise started early in the morning, including hammering around 07:00, even on weekends and during holidays such as Easter.

- De Meuter (9/5): We loved our stay here. The family was so friendly, the room was clean, it was close to the rice fields and about 2,5km -

- Ismael (10/5): -
- Giordana (9/5): - Camera luminosa e spaziosa, letto molto comodo e in generale camera e bagno ben puliti.
- Milan (6/5): -
- Sarah Merel (9/5): Comfortable stay, would recommend - Spacious, bright and clean room
Very comfortable bed

Very friendly family
Overall would totally recommend It smelled a bit “wet” in the bathroom, but keep in mind it’s a guesthouse and not a 5 start resort :)

- Iva (10/5): - Nice location out of crazy turist center and near to rice fields. Room is very cozy and have everything what you need. Owner are so kind and friendly so you feel here like home. Free bicycles are very nice bonus.
- Dastan (10/5): - All wonderful 🤗 Nothing
- Lạc Thư (10/5): - The room was spotless and well-kept, with solid, high-quality amenities. The hosts were incredibly friendly and genuinely helpful. Thank you
- Cecile (9/5): - Bright and nicely furnished room, very comfortable bed. The hosts were very friendly and kind. Free use of bicycles. The receptionist was very helpful with recommendations and providing timely information. My room was also very cool with the efficient air conditioning unit. The curtains didn’t really block out the light so I woke up very early each day.
- Do (10/5): - Ngôi nhà nhỏ xinh nằm ở vị trí ngoại vi. Không gian ấm cúng. Đúng chất ở cùng người địa phương. Giá tiền rất tốt. Chú ý ban công.
- Marga (10/5): - So hommeyyy and comfy!!
- Nam Anh (10/5): -
- Martin (10/5): Perfect hideaway in Hoi An - Everything exceptional stay! NA
- Kılıc (10/5): - Owner's were so kind and helpful. It was a warm family enviroment
- Trần (10/5): Tuyệt vờiiiii - Cô chú chủ nhà rất thân thiện - phòng ốc sạch sẽ và thuận tiện đi phố cổ - biển và gần các cánh đồng lúa rất chillll
- Warren (8/5): -
- f145h84ck (9/5): Very enjoyable and cozy homestay at the outskirts of Da Nang - Calmer location at the outskirts or Hoi An. Cozy room with good AC and Internet connectivity - 100± Mbps, so it is definitely Digital Nomad ready! You can use the kitchen to make your own meals. You can use the available bicycles to move around the city faster. Very comfortable bed. Desk ans chair suitable for remote work. Good value / price ratio. The owners are closing the gate before 10 PM, so you have to ring a bell to get in after 10 PM and it feels a bit annoying to wake the owners up. Charging 50000 VND for 1kg laundry without notice is an unacceptable and overpriced by more then 200%. Also some advice were misleading - e.g. don't do to the beach after 10 PM, becuase everything is closed, unless you want to have a calm bath in the sea.
- Agnes (8/5): - The staff at Green Town House was great: the owner is a lovely older woman, Jennie the receptionist is attentive, very quick to respond and proactive. The beds were also comfortable. Overall the staff is very guest-oriented: every inquiry was being handled quickly Initially we had ants in our room. After contacting the staff, the cleaning lady showed up within 5 minutes. Regrettably the issue was not resolved, the dead ants were also still on our floor, but we were moved to a different room the next day. We appreciated the quick actions of the staff and the final solution. We also had a cup in the bathroom with mold inside. After we brought it downstairs, it was replaced straight away.
- Bustle (10/5): - Hosts are very cute local family
It’s very clean and comfortable in rooms
And location is between beach and ancient town
- Hana (10/5): - Tuyệt vời
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rodríguez (10/5): Excellent experience - I had a great experience at Green Town House Homestay. The room was nice and clean, the internet was good, and it was quiet. The staff were very friendly. They also gave me a bike for free to ride around the city. I really liked it and I'd definitely recommend it.
- Anna (10/5): hidden gem in Hoi An - we absolutely loved staying at green house Hoi An ~ the family who runs this homestay is very kind and the atmosphere they creat lovely. Everything is true to the pictures, it’s very clean and spacious. You can rent bicycles for free and it’s just a short ride into old town as well as to the beach. The neighborhood is quiet and pretty. There’s a little shop close by and even a gym that is well equipped.
- Wolfgang (10/5): Pleasant stay at a comfortable homestay managed by very friendly people - Green Town House Hoi An is located silently outside the Old Town in nice rural surroundings. The beautiful Old Town with all the sights is easy to reach by feet. Green Town House is managed by a very friendly couple who make great efforts to care well for the guests. The room was comfortable and very clean. I liked it much to stay there.
- Jon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Annika (9/5): Superb -
- Bar (10/5): So kind, helpful - Amazing people
- Ines (10/5): A place that feels like home in a quiet neighbourhood - This place had a very homey feel. The contact through WhatsApp was amazing as soon as we booked. There’s a bus that can pick you up from Da Nang - which we didn’t use because we booked last minute and were already getting a grab. We were sent many recommendations for food, attractions and tailors which was lovely and helpful.
The old town is a 20 minute walk, which isn’t a problem because at least the neighbourhood is nice and quiet which is a perfect after wandering the crowded, loud streets in the centre. Good restaurants nearby. You can rent bikes for free and go through the country side which is very close and go to the beach.
There is an elderly lady who is always present and helpful. Always smiling and makes it feel like home, we were always happy to see her! 😊
The room was enough for two people, there were sockets on either side of the bed and the AC worked really well. You can open the windows as well to get some fresh air and it helps the bathroom dry. This was also the first place that had soap in a dispenser next to the sink to wash your hands!
We will be recommending this place to family and friends that are planning to visit Hoi An. If we come back, we’re coming back here! 😊 When we opened the fridge it smelled a little bad. There were also a few tiny ants, but they didn’t bother us. We’re still giving a 10 because we really enjoyed our stay and are only writing this to let the property know that maybe this is something they want to change
- Maehara (10/5): Friendly family stay - Very helpful family and excellent breakfast.
- Maehara (10/5): Great location. Very friendly comfortable family stay - Clean and comfortable family stay. Very convenient location.
- Elio (10/5): Countryside feel super confy bed 2 mins from rice fields ("heart of hoi an") - Very quiet area few steps from the rice fields, feels like staying in the countryside (very little traffic, chickens everywhere) but just 20 mins easy walk to old hoi an town centre.
*check pictures of the neighborhood below*
Very VERY confortable bed and 4 big pillows.
Clean, plenty of hot water and cheap price.
I would reccomend 100%, booked for 2 days first but then extended for the whole week. Nothing in particular, the room is not big but has everything, and to those who have complained that is a bit humid I could suggest to open the window for a few minutes that fix the problem easily 😉.
- Petra (7/5): Very sweet family house! - The family and especially the older couple are incredibly sweet! The location is a bit far away but the free bicycles are of great help to move around and is so nice to be close to the ricefields and the beach. The rural area is very nice too. My room was close to a road where so many scooters passing by all day so it was very noisy when you open the windows and that was sometimes necessarry because of the mouldy smell at times in the room. But maybe the rooms in the backside are quieter!
- Tom (10/5): A lovely peaceful homestay close to the old town - Lovely homestay! My room was great, and the location was perfect. Nice and quiet, only a few minutes from the rice fields. Hanoi old quarter was only a 15 minute walk away.
The host family were so friendly, and happy to help me with anything.
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hemke (9/5): Great! - Very sweet family, good location, free bikes.
- Lucy (10/5): Homely stay - Very homely, very clean, breakfast simple but lovely. Would 100% recommend.
- Nina (9/5): Superb - had a very great stay! super friendly people at the homestay
- Duyên (10/5): Exceptional - All is excellent Nothing
- Nadav (10/5): Exceptional - For sure the best place I've stayed in Vietnam. The everything in the room was extremely excellent. The owners Nim and Hoa are so kind and lovely, and Jennie the receptionist always available and helpful. If you are looking for a place to stay in Hoi An this is the right place for sure
- Molly (10/5): Comfiest bed in chill surrounding. Super clean. - So peaceful and a good location! The bed was amaaaaazing and Jennie was a very helpful receptionist. Wi-Fi was super fast too. Hosted by a lovely family ❤️ Nothing!
- Robin (10/5): Exceptional - [03:29, 14/11/2024] Robin: we didn't like Hoi an that much but the Homestay made it worth staying longer. the breakfast was astonishing and the fact that we got free bikes to use was really handy. the location is perfect, just outside the busy touristy area but between the beach and the city, in a quiet street.
[03:31, 14/11/2024] Robin: the room was clean and spacious and the hosts were lovely. you live in the house of two elderly people who are adorable.
[03:31, 14/11/2024] Robin: price/quality the best we had in south east asia
- Michal (10/5): Exceptional - This is hidden gem in Hoi An. You have free use of bicycle (or you can rent a bike) comunication with Jessica was easy and she helped us a lot. They can arrange car from Da Nang (cheaper than Grab) and some trips around (Bahn Hills for example, for fair price) It is a homestay with the nicest host (elderly couple) that are friendly, they gave us raincoat when we arrived and was pouring rain before our room was ready and good freshly made breakfast (even vegetarian option) That we did not stay longer in Hoi An than 2 days
- Namigo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional - Super comfortable bed (and pillows!), very good breakfast and lovely, helpful family.
- Simona (9/5): Superb -
- Kat (10/5): Quaint, quiet and clean room with excellent service! - How helpful and friendly the staff were, how clean the room was and the laundry service. Jennie helped us find everything we needed from organising a fair priced private car to the airport to where my friend could buy a Sim Card for his phone. We would definitely stay there again! There wasn't anything we didn't like. It's about a 20 minute walk (only 40,000 dong by Grab) to the markets but we planned it that way and the staff offered us bikes to travel there.
- Matthew (10/5): Great rooms - One of the best stays we've had in Vietnam! Great rooms, great views and a great family!
- Ankit (9/5): Good stay with good location - Rooms are clean and nice. Elderly family is always smiling. Location is good enough, not too far and not too close from the old town. Air conditioning was not at its best but that's fine I guess for the amount being charged. The staff is not available at the property and so you feel bad asking / enquiring to the elderly couple. again and again. Overall no issues.
- Holly (8/5): Very good -
- Andrei (9/5): Very nice! - Cleanliness, location, furniture, attention.
The owner wished us to be happy in the end. How cheerful he is! The pipe was nearly blocked in the bathroom so we had a little pond beneath just after a quick shower...however, it didn't bring any inconvenience as nothing was damaged at all.
- Will (10/5): Amazing - Really friendly staff and great location / room. Stayed there twice now and excellent experience both times.
Thank You!
- Lilly (8/5): Very good - Very cute homestay with very friendly and exceptionally helpful staff, Jennie gave us so many amazing tips. Simple but good free breakfast, free water and free bikes. Comfortable and nice rooms. Good location, between old town and the beach, you can get to both in about 10 minutes by bike and it’s nice not being in the touristy area, restaurants and coffeeshops are cheaper here.
- Aurelio (10/5): Exceptional - The homestay is rented by a Vietnamine family. Landlady is so friendly and always smiling. She prepared every morning a lovely breakfast: Banh mi or Quang noodles or Fried eggs, then Fruit juice or Black/ milk coffee. We tried all of them and always hot milk coffee as we are a coffee lovers xD In Vietnam coffee or cà phê is outstanding xD
Her son and husband were around and got ready 2 bicicles, so it was so easy to reach city centre or the rice field/beach (to the other side)
The homestay provides one person on Whatsapp who speaks very good English and helped us to arrange a pick up car from Da Nang airport, many info about good and local restaurants, trips, taxi driver to see touristic places and a bus to our next stop/city in Vietnam.
Anyway, the room was very clean, 2 very nice and comfortable beds, bathroom and shower very good and a fridge in the room to keep our mineral water cold xD Air condicioner working as a charm. 4x3 sockets to charge your devices/phones, 12 in total.
So, we booked for 3 nights then extended 2 more days :) Nothing, we booked for 3 nights then extended 2 more days :)
- Le (10/5): A lovely homestay in Hoi An -
- Josh (10/5): Thankyou for the stay and giving me advice on where to visit in Hoi an, will stay here again!! - The family are very welcoming and make you feel at home. The breakfast is great. The bed was very comfortable and had a great nights sleep.
- Kalina (10/5): Lovely stay with gorgeous family - The location is quiet but not far from the beach or the main city. You can take a bicycle for free and breakfast was beautiful. I sat outside and enjoyed a tasty coffee with lots of nice fruit and bread.
- Polina (10/5): One of the best experiences I've ever had - I really liked how the family whos' offering the place made me feel like at home. I stayed at the place for 2 weeks, and I had to work remotely, so it adds up to my positive feedback - meaning, I had fast internet, available kitchen, and all the other facilities.
It's a homestay, which means you basically live with a local family, which is a great option to dive deeper into their culture. The hosts were extra kind and helpful, even though we had a bit of a language barrier. They offered me a bicycle for free, and really tried to show their care offering me a hat and umbrella whenever I needed it. They were always smiling and welcoming.
Breakfasts are also very tasty, usually I enjoyed fried eggs, coffee and a fruit, and sometimes they shared with me their culture giving little traditional treats such as the moon cake, or cooking pho bo for example.
I also cooked for myself at the kitchen a couple of times, and the hosts helped me out with the rice cooker and even cooked rice for me a few other evenings! I literally felt like I was at home :))
No need to say that the room was clean and everything functioned as it should, they also provided me with a kettle. Overall, the hosts tried to make my stay there as comfortable as possible.
The homestay is located close to the beach (easily reachable by bicycle, scooter or grab) and walkable distance from the beautiful old town.
I recommend the place 100% and would visit the family again.
- Valentin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cassidy (9/5): great value, great location for a short stay. - Very comfortable beds and pillows, very clean, and in a beautiful location close to the rice fields and a quick bike ride to the beach. The WiFi in the room wasn’t strong enough for zoom calls so I don’t recommend this place for digital nomads. It was also unfortunate that I couldn’t get a key for the gate or door and so people had to wake up and let me in. I felt bad for any late nights I chose to stay out and I also felt slightly monitored because of this.
- Hattie (9/5): Friendly comfortable - Bed super comfy. Friendly owners. Not much, but was a little out of the centre, although they provided bikes so not a problem!
- Susanne (9/5): Incredible price, friendly staff and clean room - Got welcomed by this sweet family. They really took care of us even if they barely speak English. The room is clean, bed is very comfortable - especially the headpillow - nice hot shower and wifi in the room. In the mornings they made us a nice breakfast with bread, baked eggs, fruit and tea. Location is the best if you have a scooter, although walking is also possible.
- Cedrick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Oliwia (10/5): Lovely stay in Hoi An. I would definitely stay there again - The owners are amazing, super friendly, helpful and sweet. Room was pretty, clean, bed was comfortable. the area is quiet so you can get some rest. Breakfast was tasty, especially the Vietnamese coffee! Don’t use google maps when you’re going to the property, it shows the wrong address and it causes a lot of confusion.
- Veronica (10/5): Very lovely family home stay. - Lovely welcome and delicious breakfast. The bed was super comfy and the room was big and spotlessly clean. Extremely kind hosts. Highly recommended. When you put the address into Google maps it takes you to the wrong place. The map on booking was accurate tho.
