Guest Reviews

- Serpil (10/5): - Perfect location at the heart of the Medina, clean dar with delicious breakfast prepared by a very friendly hostess. She also gave us many suggestions; a tour guide, Hammam, tips. Totally recommend!

- Kevin (10/5): -
- Dries (10/5): - Imane and the cleaning lady were super friendly and helpfull. The breakfast served every morning was freshly made, and with different food options every day. Imane also recommended us some good restaurants in the neighbourhood, helped book a taxi transfer from and to the airport and also recommended a good hammam close by (where she can make a reservation for you). Bonus points for the super cute cat that lives that and greets you in the mornings!
- Eloi (8/5): -
- Pilar (8/5): Calidad-precio OK - Super bien ubicado. Bien cuidado.
- Eve (9/5): A recommander!
T’as
- Maria Fernanda (10/5): Espectacular, muy recomendado. 10/10 - Excelente servicio.
- Yumna (7/5): - We had a great stay at Dar Atlas. The host, Eman was extremely helpful and resourceful. She knew exactly which tours were worth booking and took care of all of the arrangements for us. She went above and beyond to make sure we had the best possible experience. The room itself was clean and regularly maintained. Although we booked a double room, the bed was much larger and spacious than expected. Amazing hospitality and thoughtful service.
- Jonas (9/5): -
- yolanda (7/5): -
- Erika (10/5): - Amazing place. Very good service. Everything is clean. Thank you very much.
- Emilia (10/5): The best place to stay in Fez - Staying at Dar Atlas was a great experience.
Iman, the person in charge of the Dar is very helpful, caring and always eager to help.
She arranged a private transfer from and to the Airport for me and a private trip to some other interesting points near Fez.
Everything is taken care so you can relax and enjoy your time there
I have truly felt at home. I slept very well because you can't really hear any noises coming from the streets and the beds are comfortable.
I requested to have breakfast as an extra and everything was delicious and prepared with love.
I recommend this Dar to anyone who is interested in visiting Fez.
- Thomas (10/5): - Alles
- Ginevra (8/5): - Bel riad, ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.
- Lucas (7/5): - Host was very kind, the room was clean and the riad well located. The rooftop view is quite nice too. Even though our stay was quite calm, you can hear people talking from other rooms as the windows are quite thin. There were no toilet brush.
- Luís Pedro Cochofel (10/5): Very good value for money, a central location and a great host! - Iman is a great host, really attentive and supportive from before our arrival and throughout our time in Fez. Thank you for everything, Iman!
Asides from that, for an amazing price you get a super central location with a very good breakfast included. Just be aware you need to walk at least 10 minutes from anywhere to get to this place as vehicles can't enter the medina.
- Zinan (10/5): - Host is kind and gorgeous. Clean and comfortable. Nothing.
- Zach (5/5): -
- dominique (7/5): - L'accueil impeccable.
- Hamdi (10/5): - 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
We had an amazing stay at this hotel!
Everything was absolutely perfect:
Cleanliness: The room was spotless, well-organized, and smelled fresh.
Service: Imane was incredibly friendly, professional, and always willing to help, we needed to wash some clothes so she gave my wife laundry detergent and access to the washing machine even though it wasn’t included in the reservation.
Location: Perfect location, close to historical places
Comfort: The bed was very comfortable, and the room was quiet, ideal for a good night’s sleep.
Breakfast: Delicious and varied
Highly recommended! I would definitely stay here again. 👌
- Tyler (10/5): Just what I was looking for as a solo traveler. - Nice Hard to find. Have to fight with kids out front for pointing it out.
- Franziska (9/5): Superb - Beautiful Riad located only a few minutes from the main streets of the medina. The hostess is very friendly, helpful and attentive! We felt very comfortable during our stay and everything was very clean - you can see that they take good care of the Riad. Basic Moroccan breakfast served in the price, AC is available- all in all very good value for money! A highlight is the roof top terrace where you can enjoy a stunning view over Fez!
- José (9/5): Superb - The place was very clean and the host is super nice. We really enjoyed our 2 days stand and the breakfast was always very delicious.
- Leylabi (10/5): Exceptional - This is a great Dar in Fez really well placed in a quiet street in the Medina. It was easy for me to walk everywhere I needed to get to go while being tucked away enough to be nice and tranquil. The rooftop terrace is great and breakfast was fresh and tasty. Imane was a wonderful host who was able to provide advice and also the offer of tours if needed but without any hard sell.
- Donald (8/5): Very good - The staff was fantastic, could not do enough for me.The Riad was a work of art. My lower room was noisy and humid.
- Christi (8/5): Very good - Iman is a wonderful host. The place is beautiful and well located
- David (9/5): Great place to stay in the Medina. - Iman was always friendly and helpful. She checked with me before my arrival to make sure I had the transportation I needed. The breakfast was delicious. The location is close to things to see but tucked away enough to be quiet.
- Camille (9/5): Old riad charm, simple rooms - Lovely very simple/basic rooms in a charming Ryad. The staff is charming too and most helpful
- Kunz (10/5): Exceptional - Dar Atlas is very well located. The room is clean and very nice. The breakfast is excellent.
The lady of the place was very kind and helpful.
We had a great stay and recommend this place warmly.
- Olivier (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful riad, great breakfast and nice staff Nothing all good
- Yeti (10/5): Wonderful, superb value for money, fantastic facilities and staff - Love staying here. The location is super, absolutely central yet on a quiet street that connects the two main streets. The air conditioning and heat pump work superbly, the hot water is fantastic and shower pressure excellent. The rooftop terrace is perfect in summer and winter as it's encased in glass that keeps it warm in winter, but cool in summer as the windows open when it's hot. I've spent many days and evenings in all weather just admiring the view. Imane's communication was very helpful, messaging when I booked as well as the day before and day of my arrival. I really appreciate her excellent service. She also kept the place extremely tidy and clean, with daily cleaning and linen changes that were very thoughtful. Dar Atlas feels safe and comfortable, and with Imane taking care of the place, especially so. I really appreciate the feeling of being able to relax completely here, which Imane and the hotel itself allows you to feel.
The only things I'd request are an actual double/queen bed and not two singles put together, and shower curtains that wrap completely around the shower enclosure so as to keep the rest of the bathroom dry. Otherwise a superb place, excellent value for money that I thoroughly recommend. The only things I'd request are an actual double/queen bed and not two singles put together, and shower curtains that wrap completely around the shower enclosure so as to keep the rest of the bathroom dry.
- Laima (3/5): Bad smell, small and dark. Not recommended - Staff was nice Our stay at this hotel was very disappointing. The room was extremely small and had an unpleasant smell of cats. On the booking site, it stated that private parking was available, but in reality, the only option was a paid city parking lot about 500 meters away. There was no way to drop off luggage at the entrance, making it very inconvenient.
The breakfast was not as advertised in the photos but overall not bad. The entire hotel was dark and had an unpleasant smell. Open space on the top free for cats and they are pissing on the couches.
Electronic installation was not working properly. There was a fire on few electrical sockets and we couldn’t use them. Door handle was broken on the toilet which was separated from the room!
Another major issue was the payment. The price was 120€, and we had prepared 1200 MAD, expecting a fair exchange rate. However, we were told that the hotel’s rate was 1€ = 11 MAD, which is a complete scam. We had never seen such an exchange rate anywhere in Morocco! The staff claimed that their hotel had a different currency rate than the rest of the country, which was frustrating and felt very dishonest. There was no prior information about this policy, making the experience even worse.
Overall, we were relieved to leave as soon as possible. I would not recommend this hotel
- Samantha (10/5): Exceptional - Loved our stay, we ended up booking very last minute as our previous accomodation cancelled on us but it worked out for the better, the room was beautifully decorated, pictures are how the accomodation is. In a quieter part of the Medina but you’re only a few streets away and you’re in the heart of it all. Breakfast included and was very generous, the lady running the place is very friendly she helped us organise a taxi to leave and always checking in with us.
- Olivier (8/5): Short - Breakfast was simple but ok. Hotel is fine, it's more a smaller riad. But Fez itself is difficult. Too many touts in the Medina giving you a hard time
- Srinivasa (10/5): Dar Atlas is located at center old city all attractions are very near to all attractions and staying in atlas awesome an - Close to all site seeing places and very easy to travel all the places Location and staff especially Imen and fateh are very friendly and nice people ..
Rooms are very clean and comfortable
- Francesco (9/5): Very kind people in a nice place! -
- Hh (9/5): By a true coincidence, booked this stay! A coincidence that gives you a historical experience! The service help is given - the experience is 1001! From the moment of entry to check-out! Takes you into a historical experience! The decoration design lets you experience the true heart of the city! Experience that is really worth it!
- Camila (10/5): A hidden gem in the heart of Fes - The property is beautiful! For the moment you enter you get amazed but it’s charm, the cozy place for tea and breakfast, and the room was simply amazing!! Super clean!! The bed has a good size and is super comfortable, the bathroom is really complete. The whole Riad is really a hidden gem and little paradise inside Fes Medina! And the breakfast is complete, fresh, delicious and great size, believe me you will start your day the right way!
The location is great to move and explore the hearth of Fes! And the best of all is the amazing host Imane! She really cares about you and take care pf everything for you to have an amazing time while in Fes!
Thank you Imane for everything, if we come back to Fes one day, we will definitely come back to your place! Nothing! Everything was really good!
- Amy (9/5): A lovely refuge in the medina - I loved this riad and God willing will stay here again. The best part was host Imane, who is a born host and whose care and concern made this trip much easier. She's quick to respond to messages and will do her best to help you out in any way she can. Breakfasts (made by Imane) were delicious, my room was spacious, comfortable, and climate-controlled, there was plenty of hot water in the bathroom, and the riad itself is in an excellent location for exploring the medina. NOTE: the sign above the short passageway to the front door says "Dar Rumi," the former name of the riad. But if you see that sign you're in the right place. A few very minor things. I found some of the furnishings difficult to handle: the wardrobe in the bedroom wouldn't close properly and the door handle kept falling off the bathroom door.
- Cedric (9/5): A fantastic room with breakfast in a fascinating city. - In heart of the Medina. Characterful decor. Great reception and kindness from a young lady called Imane. Very helpful and attentive. Spoke good English too. It wasn’t easily identifiable from the outside.
- David (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was very kind
- Kimi (8/5): All in all a very nice stay, especially for the money, with some minor downsides - - We were helped immensely by Younes! He even called us when we were still at the airport to help us get to the hotel. He waited for us by the gate of the medina, helped us park, and walked with us to the hotel. Even though we arrived very late (around 11 pm). He was very nice during our whole stay, great person.
- The terras on the roof is a big asset to the hotel. Nice to have breakfast or to escape the hassle of the medina.
- great location in the middle of the medina - the bathroom in our room was very, very outdated. I get that it’s an old city and old building, but some small fixes could make it better. Basic things like the rubbish bin next to the toilet, the toiletbrush, a hook for our towels, were simply broken… buy a new one and the feeling of hygiene goes up already.
- there was a strong smell in our room, a sewage smell. I think it might be better to book a room without an on-suite bathroom
- Rong (9/5): Good for short stay - The reception is very polite and informative. Location is good but its a long walk from the blue gate. Good water pressure and strong wifi in the bedroom. My bed is not very clean, there is some hair on the bed. There is only one socket in the bedroom and when you need the light for bathroom, can’t charge phone. Can’t do both at one time. During my 2 nights stay the breakfast serving was slow and not on time. So if you have tour starts at 930am, you will have to skip your breakfast because the breakfast could only ready around 930-940am. This should be improved.
- L (8/5): Good value, local experience in a pretty Riad - Dar Atlas is in the heart of the Medina. The terrace is stunning and has amazing views across the Medina. Younis on reception was nice and helpful, he gave a very warm welcome, and, despite being new to Fez and still learning about the city, did his best to help. It was a long walk uphill to reach the blue gate where you have to meet for tours. Walking back at night wasn’t always comfortable as there were many young men catcalling. The door handle to my bathroom was broken.
- Miljana (10/5): Exceptional - This accommodation and staff made my stay in Fes very pleasant, Yunes was an exceptional host, accessible at all times and there to help with anything, an amazing man, which is different from other people you will meet in Fes, the lady who cleaned and prepared breakfast was also very kind. All praise for this hostel. Beautiful ambience and terrace, and everything is neat and clean.
- Svetlana (10/5): For good price, you will get staying in real Riad - Very nice Riad
Everything is clean
Beautiful room
Also amazing roof top and View over mdina Smell of sewage system is in all building
- Ecaterina (10/5): Lovely place to stay in Fes - Great location in the Medina, but away from the crowds, which makes it a good choice.
People who work there make you feel right at home.
- Hassan (10/5): Go here just for the kind Host - He is the best ever. - The host was SUPERB. Ayoub goes out of his way to accomodate his guests and is extremely kind. He's very soft spoken and speaks good English. May Allah grant him a good wife insha'Allah. Nothing at all.
- Saed (10/5): Exceptional - Great hospitality and cleanliness, the owner ayoub was very helpful and friendly. The rooftop has a great view as well.
- Taha (10/5): Ayoub’s the best host to visit in fes - Very nice clean
Good hospitality
Respect and communication
- Johannes (8/5): Great! Will come back next time in Fes! - Nice location in the middle of the Medina. Also a beautiful Riad! The host (Ayoub) was very friendly and always ready to help! Overall a great experience!
- Dhruva (3/5): Average hotel that does not respect the guests privacy. - Nothing special, just an average accommodation. The only positive aspect is that it is in the Marina. One thing we hated about the hotel was that, we had specifically told the lady not to clean our room, as we didn’t want anybody to get in while we were away. But the lady still went in to clean, while we were away. My wife’s new top is missing ever since. Apart from that, the barroom is not really clean, we found cockroaches on the sink on two different days. The room was too tiny as well.
- Leslie (9/5): Superb -
- Kenny (9/5): Superb -
- Lyle (7/5): Good - Very kind and helpful local management of the place. Good location
- Oskar (9/5): Amazing hospitality in a great location! You will be taken care of and your trip to Fez will hve a good outcome. - Dar Atlas offered an amazing experience in (to the best of my limited knowledge) a traditional Moroccan setting. Ayoub was a really excellent and nice host who made us feel very welcome. He took care to make sure we got to the Riad, made us delicious breakfasts and took the time to answer any and all of our questions - he recommended good restaurants etc. The property is in an amazing location! The room was comfortable- we had a large bed and slept well in it. we had a hot shower with good pressure and were provided with new towels everyday. I would highly recommend!
- Lorcan (10/5): Great place great location - Loved my stay, breakfast was great! Coffee and pastries on the rooftop overlooking the gorgeous view. Ayoub in a gentleman, always looking to support and bringing the trays all the way up stairs. A star player!
- Fatima (9/5): Superb - Ayub our host was the kindest I've ever met. Always with a smile and willing to help and advise. This was the best thing. The view from the rooftop and the breakfast were also great, I really liked this riad. I like everything
- François (7/5): Good - Nice stay at the stylish Dar Atlas, good reception, good breakfast. I especially enjoyed the view from the roof top. The room is too narrow for the price.
- Vaudoux (10/5): Will Come back - Excellent location, the staff is very kind, breakfast is awesome. We stayed 2 nights with a 5 month old and we are very happy to come back for couple of days at the end of our trip
- Jean-paul (7/5): Good - Easy and cosy place Very basic
- Sofía (10/5): Amazing Riad with beautiful view of Medina! - The riad is very beautiful, the terrace is amazing and has a beautiful panoramic view of the Medina. Our host, Ayoub, was extra helpful, giving us recommendations and helping us whenever we needed it. We had an amazing time! Highly recommend!!!!
- Junjie (10/5): Exceptional - The boss was very enthusiastic. He gave me a lot of help and greetings, which made me feel very warm.
- Oufras (9/5): Superb -
- Tien (9/5): Lovely place in Medina - Great location in the Medina, not too difficult to find. Breakfast was sumptuous, I was struggling to finish it. Room was basic but has everything I need apart from shower gel etc. The place is small with only 5 rooms so it's rather peaceful Some of the beam at the stairs are quite low and not very visible so one might bump into it, it would be nice to stick some warning tape on it. Bathroom has a bad smell from the sewage, and it's very common in the accommodation in Morocco. Lots of local Maroc hanging around the back alley at night, it can be quite dangerous especially if you are a single female. Best thing is to ignore them all, even on a day time!
- Jurek101 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Abdulwase (9/5): It’s a great value for money and I appreciate Ayub’s hospitality and help. He is such a great person and I wish I see hi - The host Ayub made me feel I’m home. He is extremely kind and helpful. I would like to thank him for everything, he made my stay super fun and easy. The bathroom
- Premala (10/5): Fantastic, beautiful and comfortable! - Everything! It really is like the pictures, amazing terrace with a truly panoramic view, a clean and comfortable space to sit, read, eat, very nice with good strong wifi. The host, Ayoub served breakfast there, it was lovely. The room was really really comfortable and nice, the best bed I slept in in Morocco. It was really nice to have big windows in a Riad, with lots of natural light and air circulation. Most riads can feel dark and stuffy, this one does not at all. Everything was clean, comfortable and nice. Ayoub is super nice, always available and ready to help. I am missing the room already, I hope to be back soon! Oh and the location is perfect, within Medina but quiet Nothing at all
- Oresteionut (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect..The beautiful, clean location, in a quiet area...The host "Smiley" helps you with anything you need..I will definitely come back to this hostel.
- Zhou (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maximilian (8/5): Lovely Stay. - Very nice family running the place. Good Food.
- Alec (3/5): Would not recommend - The staff were pretty friendly and the terrace was very nice to enjoy.
I got the bottom room which seems to be the worst, the upper rooms looked much nicer.
The location was central but personally I would recommend staying closer to the outside I did my clothes washing with them. We agreed on one price and then they asked for 3 times the amount. I did end up only paying the agreed price. Also, they dried my clothes on rusted rails, which has left very visible stains across many clothes. I had to then rewash on my own to try to get the stains out, which they did not come out.
Sheets and towels were clean but also rust stained, making them appear dirty.
Bathroom drainage was poor.
Very bad smell throughout the whole place including my room.
The whole place needs a good renovation. Seems like many people have complained about similar issues before but nothing has been done to fix it.
Much better choices for the price, even with a 40% discount.
- Lukáš (10/5): Exceptional - Beware of "helpful" teenage groups in the street where the hotel is located, my advice is to completely ignore them and don't give them any money at all. The hotel is hard to find, but no matter which side of the street you're coming from, there are (small) signs pointing to the hotel entrance - it's located between two houses in a narrow dark alley. I don't know much about safety in the area at night, but I would generally avoid the Medina area for early check-outs (before sunrise). During the day, it's 1000% safe.
