- Diane (7/5): Room was good, bed comfortable. The lady was very helpful and welcoming. - Although opposite the rail station it was in a quiet residential area with plenty of parking. Impression is bar and restaurant are open but they have been closed for some time. Exterior of building is very run down. Think they need to update their booking.com information to make it clear bar and restaurant are not open.

Rien
- Mark (6/5): Nice rooms but that is all the place offers. No bar or restaurant open - Very clean and tidy rooms. Lady who booked me into the room was lovely and helpful. The information about the place says a nice restaurant and bar. Neither are available the information on booking. I'm and the reality are some way apart. You need to walk into town to eat. Not a mask e issue at all. But for a place which is advertised as a restaurant good food, bar etc etc should offer the facility or correct the information on site. One of my main criteria when book I g is food and drink on-site this is becousei am oftern tired in the evenings when I have been touring and I want an easy life food and drink avalable.
- Jean Charles (8/5): - Chambre vaste, fonctionnelle, propre,...lit très confortable.
Accueil excellent.
Position centrale
- Christophe (9/5): Rapport qualité / prix très bon et bon accueil - Très bon accueil, petit déjeuner excellent, simple et efficace, arrivée de nuit sans souci
- Shai (9/5): Friendly hosts. Great location just next to the train station.. - Friendly hosts. Great location just next to the train station.. Located a bit far from the historical center
- Ian (8/5): Very good -
- Dara (9/5): Superb -
- Ian (9/5): Superb - Location to the Station couldn't be better. A short walk to nearby town. Staff are friendly and breakfast was great. All was good.
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cormac (10/5): Nice traditional small hotel/guesthouse - This is quite a traditional hotel/guesthouse run by a very friendly helpful couple, right across from the train station. It felt very French, it’s nice to stay somewhere that doesn’t feel like it could be anywhere in the world All good
- Dominic (8/5): Very good -
- Jean-claude (8/5): Very good -
- Anthony (9/5): French fancy - Honest value and great hosts. Rural french living. It is not the Ritz but isn't trying to be. Situated directly opposite the train station the hotel provides delicious local cuisine. Clean, airy bedroom and good sized en-suite with power shower and daily fresh towels. The Saturday morning market was a winner all on its own. The smells and tastings were particularly well received. Guided tours of the old town area also available if you're a history buff and café/restaurants available until around 9pm. Just sitting next to the Dordogne enjoying a coffee a must. For the sunbathers amongst you there is also a community beach (yes a man made one) on the river's edge. With seasonal flights (1 hour 15 mins) at £15 direct from Bournemouth and a 20 min train ride (€6) it's a must just for a Romantic weekend. Just book a 10kg return baggage for the cheese and wine. Leaving
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shai (8/5): Very good - Close to the station and friendly hosts A bit far from the charming center of the village
- Steve (9/5): Excellent - Great welcome and fantastic food Sadly the restaurant/bar didn’t open during the evening

- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- Jenny (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jones (6/5): I would not choose to stay here again. - The location and free public parking at the station across the road Lighting in the room was poor, not ceiling light only a lamp and a light over the sink.
The hotel was closed when I got there with wooden barriers across the two entrances. Doors were locked and I had to telephone but the number given on the door was unobtainable. I knocked loudly on the door to get the attention of a young girl. Her mother then opened the door. There was no food being served that evening although it said on the Booking . com site that there was a restaurant. The nearest restaurant was about 500metres away. A simple continental breakfast was 8.50 Euros. I did not have it.
- Geoffrey (7/5): Adequate for an overnight stay. - Location near to town centre was good with easy on street parking. The station bar/restaurant was closed with nowhere to eat or drink nearby on a Monday night. Very narrow/ steep stairs to the upstairs rooms.
- Charles (1/5): Extremely disappointing - The hotel was closed. Access to the main door was blocked by wooden barriers and the side door was locked. There was no sign of anyone.
- Symien (8/5): Excellent value for money - Friendly owners- very accessible for restaurants etc. Very good breakfast. If you find stairs difficult, ask for a ground floor room.
- Hugh (10/5): First class, loved it. - Very well-appointed room, excellent location for both town and station, good food and super-helpful hosts. Nothing.
- Ka (5/5): Passable - It is right opposite the train station. There is no door or even curtain for the toilet.
- Stephen (9/5): Superb - Excellent location directly across the road from. The train station. Spacious clean room. Lively breakfast
- Anna (10/5): friendly location near the train station, with great sleep and excellent coffee. - Very friendly place, and despite its’ excellent location next to the train station, it’s quiet and I slept very well.
Very good coffee.
- Holly (10/5): The owners were so helpful and gracious - Staff
- Lilian (8/5): Friendliest place to stay - Friendly welcome. Bikes stored safely. Large room looking over small garden, quiet street and (quiet) train station. Good dinner and wine on the Tuesday. Be aware that on Monday there are no restaurants open in Ste Foy and with a misunderstanding with our poor French, we missed dinner at the hotel.
The stairs are a little narrow and worrying with luggage.
- Owens (6/5): Hotel very clean staff pleasant and helpful. Odd the bar/restaurant closes at 19.00??? - Breakfast was a good continental meal
- Mary (8/5): Very good - Super location for St Foy le Grande great Madamme because I am English she was very very helpful
- Malachy (7/5): This is a difficult review as my reception and room were good. - The room was clean and airy the shower and bed comfortable.
The location may put some off given the closed attached bar and restaurant The attached bar and restaurant were closed and looked as if they hadn’t opened for some time. This meant a walk out, not necessarily difficult, to find food for dinner. Would I have booked knowing this…..no
- Robin (8/5): excellent - Good staff, very clean and comfortable
- Sara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Graham (8/5): Great stop off on our motorbike tour - family room was spacious and clean, consisted of 2 bedrooms one with the bathroom in it. Very nice Bar and restaurant were closed for some reason, plenty choices outside but it would have been nice to have been able to get a drink in the evening.
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional - Busy bar restaurant excellent location
We didn't eat there but wish we had food looked great.we would definitely book again. Nothing not the like 🙂
- Ian (9/5): Superb -
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional - Very easy for visiting by train as it is very close to the station but we didn't hear any trains during our stay; it's a very peaceful location. The owners were lovely, really helpful, cooked us dinner as we were delayed arriving and everywhere was closed.
- Andrew (4/5): Disappointing -
- Christabel (9/5): Comfortable, spacious room; Delicious food. - Lovely family-run hotel with excellent dinner; snails; goose; all delicious!
- Ruth (10/5): We come to the Dordogne to see family every year. This will be our new 'en route' stop over'. - The location, for train travellers, was perfect - right next to the station yet on a quiet road. The hotel was spotless. It was packed with history and yet had all mod cons. The proprietors were warm and friendly. That we didn't plan our itinerary better and couldn't stay for longer - the food looked really good!
- Stephenjm3557 (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable, very affordable. Good food and lovely owners. Nothing.
- Adriana (5/5): Not bad, not great.............. - The hosts/owners were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The rooms are a good size and AC was awesome in the August heat. Good water pressure and hot water in the shower. The location is central and very close to shops, restaurants, grocery stores, train station, etc. There is a restaurant on the property/in the building on the main floor. There was plenty of parking available. The room was a bit shabby. Furniture could use a facelift and cleaning. The wall sockets were hanging from the wall by the bedside. I actually got a shock from one of them when I was unplugging my laptop. Not very safe. Internet connection was poor. I had to take my laptop into the hallway to get locked into the network but that took a while. Even then, I kept getting disconnected once I returned to my room (5 feet away). Very thin walls. You can hear people in the hallway, talking and slamming doors. Everything echoed. Very poor sleep quality. I also did not like that the cleaning people came into my room to change out my small garbage (with almost nothing in it) while I was out during the day. During COVID, this seems to be a particularly pointless practice especially since the bed was not made nor were towels changed. So there was no need for cleaning staff to be in there. I had sanitized everything upon arrival and did not anticipate someone coming into the room and touching door handles, etc. I usually do not need any room service during any of my stays in hotels/motels and use the 'Do Not Disturb' sign, but there was none available. Also, cleaners start very early in the mornings and are extremely loud (once again, slamming door, making noise, etc.). Good luck trying to sleep in at this place.
- Rime (10/5): Second stay in this hotel, - Great location nothing
- Thomas (9/5): Superb -
- Philip (8/5): good room for the price breakfast was good - Nice big Bed and room was clean Unfortunately there was a heatwave when we stayed and there was no Air Con only a fan which wasn't really good enough for the for the conditions at the time
- David (5/5): Passable - Air con in room Hotel locked up when we arrived after very hot motorcycle ride had to phone manager who arrived 20 mins later
- Shai (8/5): cozy although it’s just across the train station. - cozy although it’s just across the train station. steep staircase to the rooms
