Guest Reviews
- Nadine (10/5): -
- Michael (10/5): - Beautiful quiet garden to come home to after long hikes. Haley has created a really special place.
- GITA (6/5): - The Loubird Inn is described as the "premium boutique inn" in Escalante, which we felt was not an accurate description. First, there was no one there to check us in at 4 pm -- we were not told about this beforehand. Second, all communication is by phone and only until 5 pm. It's like an Airbnb, not an inn. Third, the bathroom needs renovation as toilet got clogged. Garden and outdoor area is lovely and there are some amenities, hence the "average" rating.
- Nicole (10/5): - Such a charming, cozy inn that has everything you need and more in an ideal location between Capital Reef and Bryce. Escalante has so much to offer without the crowds. The Loubird is the best place in town.
- Stephen (8/5): Very good -
- Beatriz (10/5): Home away from home! - This quaint place in Escalante is a cozy and comfortable home away from home. The hosts are wonderful and very attentive. The room was spacious, decorated with love and stocked with fridge, water kettle, tea, coffee (the best instant coffee I ever had) and even books and bathrobes. We had a bit of a cold spell but the beds had soft and plush duves. There is a flower garden to enjoy and a guest lounge where onecan make or heat up their meals or read through all the information material laid out. Nothing
- Phil (10/5): - Clean, friendly service
- JA (10/5): - Home away from home - Like visiting your Mom's Sister's place for a short stay.
- Galvin (10/5): Lovely Inn - The couple who own the Inn are friendly and offered lots of hiking advice. Na
- Mark (8/5): Pleasant. - Ambiance
- Emilie (9/5): Beautiful setting and room with comfortable bed and great amenities - Beautiful setting and room with comfortable bed and great amenities
- Susan (10/5): - The owners are very sweet. The properties is clean and quiet…… we love the Homie feeling that we got from everything about this place….. if you’re looking for a quirky non-commercial feel then this is the place to try!
- Marcia (10/5): - Lovely room and bathroom with artful touches. Garden space and patio seating were relaxing, along with feline companions. Would definitely stay here again!
- Bradley (10/5): - Lovely property. I love the hammock to lay out under the stars. We even had a surprise kitty join us for a while. Loved the shampoo, conditioner and body wash. They were lovely. So quiet.
- Mick (10/5): Perfect stay - We had a lovely stay at loudbird quiet and very comfortable.Just what we needed
- James (1/5): Bad form not to advise potential guests that their name and room would be posted publicly and that the room would be lef - Only - after - making a non-refundable reservation on booking.com at the property did the property advise us that our name and room would be posted on an exterior door and that our room would be left unlocked with the key inside.
Feeling unsafe after arriving at the property, seeing our name and room posted on an exterior door and finding our room unlocked with the key inside, we asked the property (and booking.com) to refund the $296.72 charge, but they refused (even after explaining that we would not have booked this property had we known that our name and room would be posted on an exterior door and our room would be left unlocked with the key inside).
We stayed that night at the nearby Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, which did not publicly post our name and room, and which handed us keycards to a locked room. The Country Inn & Suites also had a pool and restaurant. The cost was $252.62.
- Harold (10/5): - A such a beautiful place! Cozy room. We had the sunrise room. Beautiful balcony, fruit trees, berries, all the beautiful plants in the garden. I only can recommend this place.
- Harold (10/5): Beautiful Garden - Clean comfortable room. Friendly staff. Great garden!
- Kimberly (6/5): - We arrived a little before 3 pm for a 3 pm check in and the room had not been cleaned. The staff apologized immensely. We waited for the room to be ready.
- Louise (10/5): We had a fabulous week in a gorgeous setting! - We have stayed in lodgings all over the world and Loubird Inn rates in our top 10. It was a lovely comfortable inn to come back to after a day of hiking. We loved waking up to birdsong and sitting on our front porch with drinks. Gracious hosts with two adorable daughters only added to the charm. And breakfast/brunch at Magnolia’s Kitchen a block away was the best pre-hiking prep!
- nole (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay here. Very comfortable and a great space to hang out. My wife is restoring a longer stay
- Darren (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and the beautiful garden area, location was good there were plenty of places to eat,the magnolia cafe was excellent for breakfast and nemos across the road did great milkshakes, would highly recommend a stay at the Loubird with Haley and Garren. There was nothing not to like about the Loubird.
- Ruth (10/5): - Loved the gardens
- Pamela (10/5): Exceptional -
- paul (10/5): - Beautiful small Inn in Escalante.
- Kari (9/5): Superb -
- Rachael (8/5): V cute B&B - The room was suuuuuuper cute and cozy. Grateful for the common area with extra tea and water. The docrations made us feel right at home and the bed was DELIGHTFUL after a long day of driving and hiking. The location was okayyyyy. The other businesses in town were great but I wish I had chosen something a little closer to Bryce. It didn't really have a view or anything.
- Gayle (10/5): Our stay at the Loubird - We had a wonderful stay at The Loubird.
Our room was super cute and roomy with an inviting outdoor porch overlooking the garden. The bed was very comfortable.
Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. We had a refrigerator in the room with a kettle but we also had access to a guest lounge with a kitchen which included a microwave and dishes. All in all, it was a lovely and peaceful spot for exploring a beautiful area.
- Debra (10/5): - Charming place with exceptional cleanliness.
- John (10/5): - I like the esthetic of the cabins. I like the artsy things and that they were for sale if you wanted one of them. I liked the coziness of the cabins. I also loved that the owners lived there. They were very friendly and likeable.
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful grounds and very friendly service. Clean and comfortable room. Pick your own fruit!
- Stephanie (10/5): Excellent location, friendly staff, very clean and cozy room. - The location was safe and beautiful, the property made me feel like I was at home. The property was located on a hill in a small neighborhood. There was a grill, hammock, fruit trees I was welcome to pick fruit from, and the guest house was connected to their kitchen. They were always there, they were very friendly and were there if I needed anything. It was a great experience. They even picked fruit from their trees and had it in a bowl waiting for me in my room. The fruit was delicious. Can’t think of anything.
- Herbert (10/5): Excellent - It was in a beautiful location, clean, and run by very friendly people. The plum, apple, and pear trees were in fruit and we ate directly from the tree. Wonderful stay Really everything was great, no real complaints. we'll be back
- Peter (10/5): - Warm and welcoming stay in a small town close to some amazing walks.
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kim (10/5): - This is a hidden gem. If you're in the area this is the place to stay. Absolutely wonderful! The couple that own this have made it into an awesome getaway. It's decorated with local artists work that matches the environment. Very clean and comfortable. It's a must see in Escalante Utah.
- Brian (10/5): Very comfortable bed, relaxing and quiet porch for coffee in the morning or cocktails in the evenin. - The owners are great. Lovely people. Nice family Nothing
- Michael (10/5): Wonderful B&B - Everything. Quaint and quiet. Lovely proprietors. Exceeded our expectations. Close to incredible hiking trails, unique canyon slots, lakes, incredible drives/views and fun food. Would absolutely stay here again.
- Todd (10/5): Cute olace - Cute little place with a garden to sit and unwind.
- Harlan (8/5): Very good - The room is in a house. 4 hotel rooms in all. It was clean and comfy. I never interacted with a human, it was all done with messages. They charged me $50 upon making the reservation. Overall seemed a bit pricey, but not much in Escalante, I guess.
- Kathleen (10/5): The Loubird Inn was a delightful room with lots of roaming space. - Hayley, the hostess was very welcoming and provided us everything we needed. The location was a on a large lot in a very small time which we all loved. We could roam around the property and relax in one of the many areas that had chairs so one could relax. The flowers were beginning to bloom including several trees one the property. I think that this was a perfect setting for my husband and I and our friends. There was nothing that I did not like.
- Karen (10/5): Lovely Inn - We enjoyed our stay. It was very clean and comfortable. Very pretty gardens.
- Chialing (6/5): not worth it! - The garden of this homestay is very beautiful, but I don't live in the garden, the room rate is very expensive, not worth it. I found a cockroach in the bathroom in the middle of the night. I didn't dare to step on it, so I had to trap it in a paper cup.
- Violeta (8/5): Gem of comfort in Escalante - Lovely garden and the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in!
- Robin (10/5): - Great little Inn. Comfy; CLEAN; casual elegance; friendly and helpful hosts. Will stay here again!!!
- Sharon (10/5): - Great vibe
- Mary (9/5): Would come back without question, a hidden gem! - Cozy, comfortable, unique, its location, very welcoming staff Nothing
- Susan (10/5): Warm, comfortable, and a good central location to visit the different natural attractions. - The property was easy to find and was very comfortable. Breakfast was freshly made daily and was delicious. Everyone was super friendly, helpful, and willing to answer any questions I had. The location was great as well. I could go in any direction and a short distance away would be a great hike or amazing views.
- Julie (10/5): So cozy and comfortable! - We stayed in Escalante for a marathon. The B&B was perfect! Escalante is small, so everything is pretty much walkable. The room was wonderful with its own porch which we used a lot. Breakfast was great with the best apple bread ever! It wasn't a huge spread, but it was plenty and local and fresh, which was way better than anything we've had elsewhere. The tomatoes and fruit were right from her garden!
We would definitely stay here again!
- Jerime (10/5): - Great staff, amazing breakfast and cute cozy property. Super clean!
- Beverly (7/5): A nicely appointed rustic room, but only a cold breakfast provided. - The location was convenient, and the room comfortable. For the price I expected a hot breakfast to be included, and was disappointed with what was provided for breakfast.
- Rhonda (10/5): Guest experience at it's best! - The biggest plus of the entire experience is the family who owns this B&B. They were engaging and you could tell they were passionate about making sure the guest experience was exceptional. From the amazing breakfasts in the morning to the cheerful smiles of the two girls while helping in the garden, it made us feel like home. I can't wait to go back again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property was fine. The room was small but comfortable and with a great front porch. The gardens were lovely. We were permitted to check in early, which was so helpful. The main downside was breakfast, which was pretty much the same each morning - cold hard boiled egg, small cup of peanut butter, jelly, onion and butter wth bread. No coffee made one morning. I expected a real breakfast at a bed and breakfast. We will stay elsewhere next time.
- Lisa (6/5): - The "breakfast" was hard boiled eggs or cereal. There were some grocery store English muffins with "toppings" that included enough butter for maybe half of one side of one muffin. Whatever the other things were is unknown as they were not labeled and did not look appealing. Very disappointing.
- Roland (10/5): perfect! - We could not even imagine that someone could build such a particularly lovely bed & breakfast.
Haylee was a very pleasant host.
- Humberto (10/5): - A really good place to stay and relax. Very good people help you with your needs. The staff is very friendly and good customer service.
- Dennis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Morgan (10/5): - Wow this place was amazing. So quiet and beautiful. The staff and owner are just lovely and everything is thoughtful and excellent. Will absolutely stay again!
- Adam S (10/5): - This B&B is simply darling. There’s a lovely courtyard with a hammock, plenty of seating, a grill, and a tree that looks like it’s filled with elves. In the evening, it’s lit in ambiance-setting lights, and the fresh breeze makes everything super relaxing.
The room we stayed in was charming, clean, and refreshing. The internet was fast, and the porch a lovely addition. We loved just laying on the bed with the two doors open, enjoying the air and the smell of flowers from the courtyard.
Breakfast was delicious and filling, and Maria was so sweet and kind as she prepared it for us. The owner, too, was a friendly delight, ready to chat and put us at ease but more than willing to give us our space.
If you’re looking for a place to relax between hikes, you can’t find anything better. The adorable atmosphere and beautiful spaces lend themselves well to any type of traveler: single women looking for a safe place, couples wanting a romantic place to lay their heads, or intrepid hikers wanting to kick off their boots after a long day.
Book this stay. I can say with utter assurance: you will not be disappointed.
- Greg (10/5): - Julia and Dan were excellent hosts. Always available if you needed them but allowed us privacy. Dan cooked amazing breakfast each morning. They are knowledgable of the hikes and help with planning our day. Nice common area with books and dishes, utensils, etc. for carry-out.
Weather was cold so couldn't enjoy the nice yard or deck off our room.
Highly recommend!
- carma (10/5): - This is the cutest B&B I have ever stayed at , they made us feel so welcome. the breakfast was so nummy and healthy. I would recommend this place to everyone.
- Andrew (10/5): - Clean, comfortable and nicely decorated room with great hosts and an awesome breakfast.
- Bonnie Joe (10/5): - What a gem! The room was great. The hosts were very personable and accommodating. The property was like home.
- Julie (10/5): - Outstanding B & B...it gets an A from two retired educators!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A charming getaway. We stayed 2 nights. Our hosts Julie and Dan were fantastic. We stayed in the Lodge Room.
Spacious and comfortable with all amenities. Breakfasts were superb. Activities endless. We hiked the Calf Creek Lower Falls Trail. Stunning. We only wish we would have booked another day. Betsy and Gary Clark
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This was by far the best B&B we have ever stayed in. The hosts were wonderfully generous with their time and resources, and the property was beautiful We highly recommend Canyons to anyone traveling to Escalante.
- Joseph (10/5): Great Breakfast! - The rooms were spacious and nicely decorated. We loved the porches looking out onto a beautiful garden. And the best part of all was the incredible breakfast that we enjoyed each morning with accents from the garden of our hosts Dan and Julie.
- Ricky (10/5): None Better! - Friendly folks, great on giving tips for any hike or activity. Fantastic breakfast every morning, beautiful gardens, and a great room. Enough cannot be said about this place or the owners. Wonderful and beautiful place to stay in Escalante, the owners made the experience. I’d challenge anyone to find a better or more friendly place.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The owners; Daniel and Julie are like reconnecting with friends. They are a cute couple that shares stories, recommendations and cuisine that breaks the profile of well run B&B’s. They are the reason to return again and again, setting the gold standard for all aspects of service and hospitality. Love, love, love this place and these people.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Hosts were wonderful. Knowledgeable about area, friendly, helpful and interesting. Breakfasts were amazing-delicious, different and healthy! Room was comfortable and charming.
- Theodore (10/5): Beautiful place - Beautiful place and great owners. Highly suggest staying here. The rooms are beautiful and have a “look” to them that may sacrifice a bit for looks over comfort. However I had a comfy stay and enjoyed the outside grill, the stars, and the company of the owners at breakfast. Stay here for an excellent experience.
- Lee (10/5): - Our hosts were super friendly and helpful in recommending hiking trips. The food was superb!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very comfortable and well decorated room with cozy bed, dining table and fantastic deck for relaxing. Owners were very accommodating and knowledgeable about hiking trails/conditions in the Escalante area. Breakfasts were very delicious, homemade affairs--generous portions. Also, owners were so thoughtful to provide "to go" package one morning for an early departure.
- Lori (10/5): Best bed and breakfast - Very hospitable and excellent breakfast- best ever. Garden setting is a lovely place to have a cocktail and chat with other guests.
- Deborah (8/5): - My only complaint was the room smelled musty the entire time. There is definitely a water issue somewhere that lingers in the air and is most unpleasant.
- Brenda (10/5): BEST B&B - Love the owners and the vegan breakfast they made us!
- Cheryl (10/5): Made our trip extra special - Dan and Julie were very friendly and so kind and gracious about accommodating my diet issues....and they're not easy. Definitely would stay here again and highly recommend Canyon B&B to all
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful hosts. Lot of privacy and quiet cozy vs bigger lodges or hotels. Nice having B&B w separate rooms leading to the outside.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Excellent B&B - wish we’d stayed longer! - Excellent stay: warm service, clean and very comfortable room. Breakfast was generous, fresh and delicious. We felt so welcome and the property was so nice we wish we’d been able to stay longer. Escalante was definitely the hippest, friendliest town on route 12. Highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Charming place with wonderful patio in back. Bed and room comfortable, very clean with nice bath/shower. Hosts were super nice and included breakfast very tasty.
- marilyn R. (10/5): a great stay was had by all - A great place very clean ;and comfortable and the owners were very gracious and helpful.
- cynthia (10/5): - Best B&B we have stayed at. Check in was simple and quick. Rooms where furnished tastefully and roomy. The property had a great garden and fruit trees, e where able to pick, apples, plumbs and pears. Great place and we will definitely stay here next time we come through town!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The B&B was beautiful. Loved the gardens in the yard. Very comfortable and inviting. Needed to cut our stay short and had trouble doing this.
Not the owners fault but a refund was difficult to acquire.
