• Marlies (8/5): Top ligging! Leuke ervaring van in een grot overnachten! - De ligging is prachtig in het centrum van Sassi! Je kan alle kanten op! Heel mooi uitzicht vanaf het binnenpleintje echt een aanrader! Het ontbijt moet je niet teveel van verwachten, dit is karig, maar prima als je weet wat je kan verwachten, maar stond niet duidelijk vermeld.

Każdy detal wnętrza był przemyślany z niezwykłą starannością, klimat miejsca sprawił, że poczuliśmy się jak w innym świecie. Piękne aranżacje, niepowtarzalna atmosfera. Śniadania były obfite. Mimo wszystko, prawdziwą duszą tego miejsca jest właściciel, który przywitał nas szampanem z okazji urodzin, co było miłą niespodzianką. Zawsze szybko odpisywał na wiadomości i chętnie podpowiedział gdzie zjeść, a jego wskazówki okazały się naprawdę trafne. Le petit déjeuner est insignifiant. Mais le prendre, au soleil levant, assis sur la grande terrasse en pierre de taille, avec la vue à couper le souffle sur Matera, rend tout anecdotique : à cet instant là, avoir une biscotte ou un croissant au chocolat à tremper dans son café ou son thé, on s'en fout.... , on en prend plein les yeux, on est béat. C'est de toute beauté. Et quand la nuit tombe.... jpl besançon Peut-être, essayer de réduire le bruit fort (grincement métallique), de la porte de la salle de bains.(porte très originale au demeurant )

• Joseph (10/5): Great cave accommodation in good location - Excellent genuine cave accommodation, large room, great shower and bathroom, clean, quiet, good wifi, good location on main ring road, water, fruit juices, tea, crackers, jams, and biscuits provided. Room was tidied up and breakfast supplies replenished on second day. Giacomo let us check in earlier, provided some useful local information and was very helpful. Tea was supplied but the addition of coffee would have been welcomed.

The supplies provided daily were ample and good value for the included breakfast. The location was very good and the terrace was exceptional as a viewing point of the town. The room we had was not huge, but the terrace was! Other rooms were very spacious. We highly recommend the property so well run by Giacomo. We highly recommend. All was good!

La stanza da bagno e' grandissima, con una vasca circolare molto ampia e dotata di una enorme doccia a pioggia stupenda! Tutto è molto curato e pulito. Il proprietario è una persona squisita, ci ha accolto con la cortesia e disponibilità tipica delle meravigliose persone del Sud. Pietragialla è stato il fulcro di un bellissimo e indimenticabile weekend nei Sassi di Matera!

Room fridge and breakfast (pastries and jams) restocked every day friendly welcoming hoste who gave us hints and types of what was going on locally. The bathroom was a bit cold even with the heating on but it wasn’t enough to ruin our time spent there.

La colazione povera con fette biscottate e merendine peccato l’assenza della macchinetta del caffè a cialde in camera .

Ma il vero punto forte é Giacomo, il proprietario, persona accogliente e disponibilissima ad ogni esigenza. Mia figlia di 5 anni mi ha già detto che vorrà tornare.😅 Consigliatissimo

L'host è gentilissimo e disponibile. La struttura, pur essendo ubicata nei Sassi, è facilmente raggiungibile con un breve percorso a piedi dopo aver lasciato la macchina nelle vicinanze.

• Roger (4/5): So much potential but a disappointing experience afterall - The room, located inside a sasso is stunning. Clean, comfortable, great location. It was raining during our stay so it was uncomfortably humid inside the room. The walls in the room and bathroom had black mold and there were water leaks in the bathroom. We had no control over the A/C so we had to sleep with the door open to get some ventilation in and moldy smell out.

However, if you are mobility challenged, you might want to inquire about a shuttle to the residence. We walked through the sassi, and while it has amazing views along the way, it can be challenging with lots of luggage to walk it!

• Kryst_ (8/5): Sassi large Cave Room in Magical Matera. - If you expecting Cave-Room, this facility is as expect, large and cozy, with warm minimal lighting. You will be surprise with the bathroom, still keeping the cave concept but reform into modern spa-clean bathroom, and this is what i like best. The location is in the west side of the Sassi Area, Unfortunately i didn't have the 2nd flood balcony room but on the first floor which can be easily acces to the street view, still it is stunning. the room is too close to street access. and the booking might get you confuse that you book the room with the balcony or not. Please be inform that 'The breakfast included' is NOT Real, all you go is just cracker, jam and juice in the minibar, if you expecting fresh hot-breakfast you will be disappoint.

• Ryan (10/5): - Incredible room, incredible hosts, and incredible location. Right in the middle of the old town it was easy to walk to any shop or restaurant. Staying in a cave hotel was a once in a life time experience. Matera is a beautiful town rich in history. Absolutely recommend!

A skilled sculptor, he has experience with the transformation over time of his magnificent, ancient city. The location and view from his place are...special to say the least. My wife said it was her favorite room during our vacation and I agree. As for the city of Matera itself, we will be telling everyone in our family they must come and experience the history, architecture, natural geography, food and hospitality. Bravissimo!! The view from our terrace was beyond incredible, the room was comfortable and kept cool, and we enjoyed the little breakfast spread available. It was very conveniently located, a quick walk from parking outside of the ZTL but very close to everything we wanted to see in the historic center. Stanza arredata in maniera essenziale, che ne valorizza le caratteristiche. Accoglienza cortese e sollecita. Assolutamente raccomandato. Pour se garer nous avons utilisés les places payantes zone bleue à 10min du logement 14euros les 2 jours de stationnement. Attention aux personnes sensibles à la lumière pour dormir le logement n'avait pas de volet juste un rideau.

Ystävällinen henkilökunta. Jos nyt täytyy sanoa miinusta niin yhteistä kieltä ei oikein löytynyt, en puhu italiaa. Matkustamisessa olisi hyvä ottaa huomioon 2.7. oleva suuri fiesta Materassa. Se on näkemisen arvoinen, mutta vaikuttaa paljon tuohon päivään ja liikkumiseen alueella. Sulkee täysin kaupungin normaalin arjen. Ihana kohde, upea majoitus. Täällä viihtyy pitkään!

• Devaki (7/5): Good. - It was a beautiful cave stay with good facilities. There are a few problems . 1. The AC broke down on the last night of our stay and was giving out hot air. It was a very hot night so that made the stay uncomfortable. The owner was very responsive and solved it for a few hours it, but the problem reappeared so we barely got sleep. 2. The parking and transfer from parking is not transparent and involves hidden fees. We were told that the parking will be 20 euros per day but no one mentioned to us that the shuttle transfer ( 5 mins ride ) will cost 10 euros per way. It is fine to charge it but these costs should be disclosed transparently by the host and/or the parking facility. The shuttle was also 15 minutes later than the arranged time on the morning of our flight.
