- Tania (9/5): Great location, clean bedding, peaceful - Great price, good location and excellent staff communication. Clean bedding and towels. Family room was perfect.
- nicola (2/5): Unchanged room - The location This hotel seemed good on the booking.com website, however once I had arrived and shown into my room, I felt incredibly disheartened. There was a lingering smell which was coming from the toilet - the toilet had no seat cover.
After travelling nearly three hours by train, I decided on an early night.
As soon as I had got into bed, I soon realised that the bed had not been changed from the last guest - the bedding was covered in black hairs.
The reason for my visit was a week long driving course, so sleep was essential. That night I didn't sleep at all, I felt very dirty waking up in the morning.
I soon noticed how grubby the room was. The tray which held the coffee's and sugar sachets, the carpet had not been cleaned.
Hairs in the shower and a cigarette end on the bathroom floor.
I sent a message to the manager of the hotel and he offered to put me in another room.
The second room had tobacco in the drawers, the window didn't close properly and the bathroom had not had a proper clean. I ended up buying bleach from the local shop.
I didn't have a decent night's sleep the whole of my stay. I think the Mayfair put up tenant's from the council. Late at night I could hear male occupants walking around and there where a few which I had spoken to on initially trying to locate the owner for my first room.
It's perfectly okay for hotels to house local council tenants, however, the walls are incredibly thin, so anyone looking for a peaceful stay just be aware of that.
A male was staying in the room next to my original room - I could hear everything.
The owner did agree to reimburse my first nights stay, and it's not a huge amount of money. But that's not the point. Anyone would expect to have a clean room, and a good night's sleep.
The owner seemed to give good communication on the refund, however, I have given up on receiving it now as he has chosen to ignore the issue.
- Brian (8/5): Awesome - Management was wicked tbh always there. Nothing really
- Tom (9/5): Very good will definitely go back - Very polite staff A bin in the room for rubbish
- graham (10/5): A really excellent hotel to stay at - I stayed here during Xmas NY 26.
The owner was a really good host throughout my stay.
The room I was given was an upgrade from the one I booked.
The room was well furnished through with comfortable new beds and bedding and a good TV with lots of tea and coffee.
The breakfast was really good quality and value for money.
Evening meals are available at a very good price £10/12 and I was even allowed to supply my own drinks, I'm not sure if this is always allowed.
The location is good 10 mins walk into central nightlife with free on street parking in a nearby street.
I've been visiting Blackpool over the last few years and this hotel was a far higher standard than the others in the same price range.
Thanks so much to all the team at The Mayfair for everything.

- Tony (9/5): -
- Halstead (6/5): -
- gene (10/5): Perfect location - Ideally situated just far enough away from the front but close enough for your needs, parking is allowed while you drop your bags off (leave your car outside if you have blue badge)

- Richard (9/5): Unfortunate return home - Host was excellent helpful and informative, Didn't like having to cut the break short by a day as my partner was taken quite ill, it was either go to Blackpool hospital or return home and go to our hospital, she is now waiting for surgery on her back, but we still enjoyed ourselves. Thanks

- Lesley (1/5): - I arrived at the hotel at 4.15pm on Friday. There was no one at the accommodation. I ran the bell loads of times and even phoned with no answer. I paid for a single room yet I had to then find alternate accommodation. I have tried numerous times to contact the hotel with no reply. I certainly will not recommend this hotel
- david (6/5): - Clean
Good location
Safe
Owner was available via txt fix issues we had Bar not open
So no breakfast not big issue
Bathroom shower was naff could piss harder
No lights in room or shower room ( fixed the bedroom by leaving new bulb I had to fit)
- John K Roberts (1/5): -
- Kimberley (1/5): - Nobody at the hotel then 30mins later cancelled on me and had to go home with a 3 month old puppy so o want a full refund. Everything
- Carol (4/5): - The beds were ok The carpets all need a good clean
- Richardson (5/5): -
- Stacie (10/5): - Ground floor room aloud to bring the dog Nothing
- John (6/5): - Toilet, shower and bedding clean. Cleanliness on the upper surfaces (dado rails, pictures, window sills etc) very poor, wardrobe very poor quality and very poor pressure from shower. Apart from a telephone conversation on arrival there was no contact with the host.
- John (4/5): - There was no light in the bathroom.
I was staying from the Wednesday to the Monday and I had paid for breakfast and I was told breakfast on started on the Friday. And also after that when I went down for breakfast I only ended up getting breakfast one of the days because the person serving it couldn't be found on the other days.
And on the last morning the fire alarm went off and everyone had to go outside but again there was no sign of the owner.
- Danny (3/5): - No breakfast despite it being included in the rate. Light in the room didn't work but couldn't ask anyone to fix it/change the lightbulb because there was no staff around whatsoever
- CORY (9/5): -
- Mick (6/5): Pleasant - Location bed comfy No one there no breakfast bar closed main lounge smelt damp wallpaper coming off.
- Maria (1/5): Disappointed - My experience was not good There was no staff on premises to give me my room key to check in owner wasn’t there for 2 days front door was left open when I arrived had to stay in friends rooms felt so cramped and uncomfortable
- Tinytich (8/5): Comfortable. - The comfort of thr room and facilities and friendly helpful owner The distance was a little too far from sea front
- Hannah (7/5): Good -
- Whittle (6/5): Pleasant - Quiet and close to the sea front Way to warm really stuffy for a very small room.. no breakfast on offer.
- Michael (8/5): Very good - Bar was not open.
- Dandy (10/5): great for what i needed and price was perfect room was spotless and comfy bed and shower good - hotel was clean and host was welcoming and told me straight away about window etc and i assured him it wasnt a problem for me as im down here on the lash n wont be in room for long each day / night i will 100% be staying here again and breakfast menu looks great but again i wasnt up for breakfast as ate at westherdpoons with the dtag lads wasnt a problem as i was down for a stag weekend so i was out all day n most night so didnt affect my stay just wasnt no running cold water in room and window broken but as i say wasnt a problem for myself as literally wasnt in room but i think would need sorting for a couple or family etc
- Duane (1/5): Rubbish no one - The location was the only good bit Saw host at check in and that was it for the whole stay even tho we had asked for breakfast prior to arriving and host confirmed when we checked in and we woke up to nothing and no one around tried to contact the host by message and the ring doorbell as we was told and nothing still 48 hours later the bar was open but no staff to serve so was pointless and the room was something else shower leaked and was cold the jacuzzi bath didn't work the heating wasn't on had to use a heater which isn't the safest option lifted rug at end of bed to find someone's tweezers and nail clippings there was stains all over the furniture there was a hook on the light cord which stabbed me in finger when I went to put light on as u don't expect a hook that screws into wall to be on end of it no plug for sink so couldn't even use the sink and the worst part was the massive window in roof of room with no blind or curtain so as soon as sun came up we was up the outdoor furniture was falling apart and mostly unsafe it was one of the worst stays we have had in Blackpool we won't be returning
- Brenda43 (9/5): Nice welcome enjoyed stay and highly recommend! - Was in a good location close to all amenities, rooms clean spacious and plenty light Nothing
- Lee (1/5): Bad - Absolutely nothing.. how ignorant they are i would recommend you don't waste your time here. Wouldn't answer ring door bell or phone and still haven't replied to emails or text 48hrs later
- Donna (7/5): Mayfair staff - Well there was no breakfast available and was willing to pay there was no stuff the bar was left open but was not sure to help myself as no one was about and was told the bath worked and pushed the button and left so many messages no one got back to us
There was gentleman was on stage due wanted to check in and I rand and message bless the button no one was available what's so ever run out of loo roll had to buy our own staffing was terrible and the fact we had to go out early morning to get our breakfast twice
- Colette (3/5): Shit - Not really anything Smashed window, broken light, was told the window would be fixed the next day and never was, no one was ever at the bar to serve drinks
- Jenni (7/5): Great value for money in a nice clean room. - This hotel is great value for money. The host was helpful and little touches like cans of fizzy and bottled water in our room was nice. My daughter loved watching dvds that were in the room on the dvd player! Room was clean and we had tea, coffee and toiletries for us in the room. We wanted breakfast on the Saturday but it didn’t seem like it was open. But this wasn’t a massive deal.
- Milbourne (7/5): Good - Decor t TV didn't work. Shower only warm.. No spoon in room.
- Charlotte (10/5): Best to date will definitely stay again - The property was so clean and tidy the towels fresh was just a perfect stay There’s nothing I didn’t like about it
- Amy (9/5): Superb - Perfect location for where we needed it to be, the host went above and beyond and balloons were waiting in the room for our arrival to celebrate his birthday. We were supposed to stay for 2 nights, however we had to leave early due to childcare. In all it was a good stay and we'll mostly be back again in the future.
- Davies (7/5): Good - The bath
- Murray (10/5): Exceptional - For a short stay it was brill owner was very helpful My wife left her earrings which were expensive and on phoning the owner he said he would post them but I turned up and he offered me breakfast which was so nice happy chappy thank you again
- Colene (2/5): Very poor - Bed was broken, it stated breakfast included but didn't get breakfast, only seen the owner once and that was on arrival to hand us keys any issues instead of coming face to face to help we were communicating through message
- Leonard (5/5): Would of booked another room if Staff had been avaliable to advise us - No Staff No Breakfast
- Leslie (8/5): Very good -
- Wayne (6/5): Pleasant -
- Richard (9/5): Superb -
- Brett (9/5): Superb -
- Ben (7/5): ok - good Hotel just wat you need bed shower 🚿 shower bit cold 🥶 but ok for 2 days
- Moseley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alison (3/5): will not return - leaving room too small only 2 small old towels. only 1 loo roll no soap no handle on door to room difficult to shut. chest of drawers broken. shower water only warm. did not respond to message seeing guests trying to check in and sat outside getting no response. not nice street to walk up. undesirables at all times of day
- Nicole (8/5): Very good and comfortable for a last minute booking -
- Jason (8/5): Very good - Room was clean and nice room Tv no pictures on it
- Dianne (1/5): Extremely Unhappy Guests - Paul welcomed us then disappeared and we didn't see him again for our entire visit - we had no breakfast and had to find a local cafe to eat even though he had told us that breakfast was at 9am - tried calling him as we had no toilet paper and got no answer, overall very unsatisfied with our stay and will not be revisiting
- Caroline (5/5): No frills cheap B&B, OK for a night or two - Room #4 - Kettle and plenty of coffee/tea/sugar. Wifi was good signal. heating didn't work, TV had no signal, no lid on toilet, shower cubicle wasn't as clean as it should have been; shower head was too dirty to use. Kettle needs descaling. Mattress was very firm, ok if that is your preference but not great for me.
- Darren (8/5): Enjoyable stay, cheap room so can't grumble. - Comfortable bed, fresh, clean bedding. Broken window.
Not asked if breakfast was wanted as advertised.
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Great for what you pay and no charge for dogs, brilliant Nothing really, good value for money
- Eileen (1/5): Bad - Nothing Despite messaging me to find out what time we were arriving 24hrs before we were due to arrive, there was no one there. The door was locked and no answer to the phone number provided. An hour of trying to get in with no joy meant we had to find another hotel.
- Garry (5/5): Passable -
- Richard (6/5): Blackpool hotel review - The location of the hotel was ok and easy to find from blackpool north train station as well as not far from the promanarde Wi-fi and TV in the room was not work plus their was not much staff on for curry night, breakfeast or for the bar
- Dusty (5/5): Passable - Clean good beds 🛌 No breakfast 😢 and not a human in sight. No one at all just a key in box.
Felt like the marieceles.
- Heather (5/5): Was passable but wouldn’t stay again due to no breakfast. - Location was good for Winter Gardens. There was no breakfast available despite me E-mailing a few days before to confirm that we wanted it. We were told it wouldn’t be a problem and that as we are vegetarian food would be separate in the buffet etc. If the owner doesn’t want to supply breakfast then he should just say that in the outset. Room was ok but tired. No soap in the shower dispenser. Towels old and ready for the bin.
- Vanessa (1/5): Crap, dirty, dangerous - Absolutely nothing Everything it was filthy, smelt mouldy, smelt like someone had been for a pee down the side of bed. Black mould in shower, thick dust everywhere, toilet seat not screwed on, 1 tiny window you couldn’t see out of. Electrics hanging out of shower fan, no smoke alarm, 2 small towels for 2 adults for 5 days. No one on site apart from check in. No breakfast available as stated online, bar not open. A shit hole & health risk. The list is endless
- Ian (1/5): Won't be recommended to others. - The Rebellion festival always do Had a fella there to greet us then saw no one at all after that. Run out of toilet roll had to search for tea bags. No one there for breakfast. Shower was filthy.
- Stefanie (8/5): Lovely owner x - First night there we didn’t receive our towels but owner soon fixed it next day and even refunded us our stay which was very Good. Lovely owner Just what a previous said
- Paul (3/5): Poor -
- Davina (1/5): Bad - Nothing No staff around no hot water supposed to get breakfast never turn up no place charge scooter
- Rebecca (1/5): Will not stay again needs a lot of work and repairs was dirty all through broken furniture and garden seats. - Nothing Was dirty wet bed and bedding only seen the host once wasn’t there at all
- Ryan (2/5): Worst hotel I’ve ever stopped in - Location The room! It smelled damp , the bedding was damp , shower didn’t work and no one up for breakfast! Horrible stay
- Mcgivern (1/5): Bad - No TV in room or lighting and full of dust...no bar couldn't get a drink no breakfast and due to the faults in the room was promised a free breakfast and dinner from the owner only to be let down as we never seen anyone nobody to ask for more toilet roll 😲think most of the people that are there rent rooms and live in it if this is the case shouldn't be called a hotel there was dog pee on the vallence sheet the water at sink ran like a drip beds springs coming through bed and we are lucky there was no fire as fire escape non existent the room next to us looked as if door had been knocked in ...
- Alan (4/5): Average - Location okay. But no one there to do breakfast so was unable to have breakfast. We had no towels showers need up dating attention to detail.
- Jill (1/5): I came home couldn’t stay with no tv and the window open - It was clean I found a potato chip under the bedside table, couldn’t find the tv remote control, it was impossible to shut the window and I couldn’t get the shower working
I rang the hotel to ask where the remote was but didn’t answer the phone and haven’t answered my message
- Sarah (6/5): Average, but good value for money - Comfortable beds, spacious room for myself and my friend. No service from staff, no breakfast - despite being told it was included. Had to switch to an online order via JustEat. No hairdryers, despite being stated available on request. No ventilation in shower room, which affected my friend's asthma.
- Jordyn (1/5): Bad -
- Bernard (7/5): not too far from the centre - easily accessible , nice and quiet due to only a few guests being there , charming host the big uncovered stained window on the ceiling in the room , perhaps fitting a blind could help , as soon as it was dawn the room was very bright , was told it had private parking , when we got there it was on street parking in a residential area , so used the public car park on the street at the rear of the hotel
- Paul (4/5): Mayfair hotel - Near the centre No clean towels after three days ! Beds not made ! No breakfasts ! Toilet seat broke light bulb in toilet !, I can't understand why some of the b and bs on palatine Road and hornby Road are allowed to advertise on booking .com the standard generally is awful !
- Claudia (6/5): Pleasant -
- Russell (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (1/5): Bad -
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Lesley (1/5): Very bad!! - Nothing at all No breakfast even though paid for
No toilet rolls in room
Left outside property in the rain for 45 minutes on arrival because he was busy cleaning his alarm
Communication was so bad!
- Claire (6/5): Pleasant -
- Raynor (1/5): Very disappointed - Breakfast for one morning No breakfast for two mornings no towels no bar on the evening
- Graham (1/5): Bad - Ermmmmm...... No breakfast was served. Had problems with room. Nobody around to sort thigs out. Had to go to hospital with burns as got scolded in shower no button to turn temperature down..
- Christian (1/5): Disappointed!!!!!!! - It was clean Didn’t see any staff at all no one greeted me or gave me keys someone staying there let me in I found a key in a room door and just stayed in it don’t know if was correct room I rang the landline and mobile lots of time and got no answer was staying with my 14 year old son he didn’t sleep very well because of the whole situation
- Andrea (9/5): Superb - Every aspect catered for. A slight shower issue. However, this was professionally dealt with. Excellent proximity to local amenities. N/A
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eliza (5/5): I liked the place. Might stay again 🙂 - I LOVED my room it was small but it was pretty. This hotel has the potential to be great. It needs a bit of updating and tweaking things a bit. The shower was lukewarm and not hot at all.
- Michaela (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dean (4/5): Disappointing - I am disappointed There was no breakfast
- Claire (7/5): Good -
- Scott (5/5): Passable -
- Alastair (6/5): Pleasant -
- Skelly (8/5): Very good -
