Guest Reviews
- Vicky (10/5): - Parking was easy location was perfect. Half hour drive from Glen Coe. Allowed me to get sunrise pictures
- Bob (4/5): - We were very satisfied withe cleanliness of the property. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and went above and beyond for us during a large storm which took out the electricity in the entire area. They stayed open when many other hotels in the area didn’t. Highly recommend!
- Sheena (10/5): - Very clean, basic property. Quick walk to town for food. Excellent location to Glencoe Valley
- Bob (10/5): - We happen to arrive during an unusually big storm that took out the electricity for many miles around the area. They offered us our rooms with flashlights and warm showers. Fortunately, the electricity came on during the night, so we got to experience the Tendrum Lodge during normal operations as well. The staff was so very reassuring during the outage and when the electricity came on. We will definitely be back.
- Joy (10/5): - The staff were warm and friendly and did laundry for us. The drying room was fantastic and everything by inside and out was clean and tidy
- Willem Rogier (8/5): Efficient place to stay for exploring the area - Overall quite a cute and well situated property for exploring the area, without many frills. They provided a key for late check-in, which was a life-saver as we arrived quite late - but then ruined it a bit by knocking on the door trying to bundle us out before checkout time even though many other rooms still needed cleaning.
- Paul (10/5): Clean and well maintained - recommended - Really good stay for 2 nights visiting Glencoe mountains. Very good service and was ideal for us. It is 40 minutes drive south of Glencoe but was good value for money and the room was a good size, very clean and comfortable. Bath was ideal for soaking muscles after a long day.
There are shops and places to eat close by. We had a smash burger from the campsite takeaway right next door by the river. Great.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great stopping off point on way to Skye.
Absolutely no complaints.
- Patricia (8/5): - Immaculately clean. Comfortable beds. Very handy for great food.
- Simon (10/5): - Super freindly staff and huge comfortable bed. Walkable to a choice of eateries.
- Laurel (8/5): - Good motel for an overnight and full breakfast, then be off on your next adventure. Very touristy with many buses arriving for boat ride on the loch and gift shop during business hours. Clean, comfortable room.
- Susan (10/5): - Large, clean room, with full body length bathtub!
- judy (8/5): - Clean, modern, crispy clean bed linen, fridge, coffee maker, continental breakfast, spacious, thin walls for sound transfer from room to room,
Very friendly and helpful staff.
- paul (8/5): - Unwelcoming and unhelpful check-in. When I asked about the continental breakfast advertised on their publicity, I was told that I booked room only (which may be true) and I could go to the nearby village for breakfast.
Otherwise trouble-free.
Lock on the door to our block was broken.
Room was large, comfortable bed, excellent lighting, effective blackout curtains, good heater.
Everything worked well except for the TV which, despite the extensive list of channels on the guide, only showed a limited number of live channels and none that carried news, such as BBC One or ITV1.
Hot water, bath, shower and towels were all good. A toilet brush would be a useful addition to the bathroom.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Pretty and welcoming - Excellent clean and friendly place. Comfortable bed, good quality furniture even a small fridge. Beautiful scenery and just along the road are places to eat, green welly shop, and fuel. I recommend the Ben Lui restaurant.
Ask for a room away from the road.
- Tina (10/5): - Great place!
- Barry (10/5): - The big bed and big rooms ,small fridge very clean with great parking just outside
- Kyle (8/5): - The wifi was out and the drying room was not turned over night.
- Robert (10/5): - Excellent night stay after 3 days hard hiking. Clean, comfortable and well equipped with friendly staff.
- Nicholas (10/5): - Very convenient hotel for hiking in the amazing mountains surrounding Tyndrum
- pip (10/5): - Good rooms
- Sarah (10/5): - This was a lovely spot. We were driving around Scotland and the location was great. The beds were comfy. It's a great set up for people that are doing long walks (West Highland Way?)- drying room for gear, baths for long soaks, restaurants close by.
- Jean (10/5): - The staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was comfortable and the bed was very cozy
- Kelly (10/5): Relaxing stay - Nice spot to relax after a long drive .
Comfortable clean updated room .
Would stay again
- Samantha (10/5): Home away from home - Huge room, decent bathroom with a lovely bathtub! Creek out the back, walking distance to a range of food options and quiet. Would definitely stay again
- Riona (10/5): - Would recommend. Excellent 👍
- Jack (8/5): - A quiet spot conveniently located near town.
- Frances (10/5): - Lovely clean and comfortable lodge. Loads of space. Nice bathroom with bathtub and shower. Immaculate grounds. Really comfortable. Close to the village facilities. Despite our room being on the road, there was no noise heard. Slightly frosty reception on arrival, unlike other places on the WHW but the accommodation made up for it. Would stay again.
- Linden (10/5): - Clean, quiet, roomy...
- Scott (10/5): Lovely - Lovely place. Friendly reception. Clean room with a tub which was a bonus after a day on the way.
- Janice (8/5): - Perfect value. Comfortable couldn’t ask for better
- Aaron (10/5): Comfy bed - Was easy to access, clean, and affordable. Very comfy bed!
- Klaus (10/5): A great stay in the Scottish highlands. - We arrived early but were kindly shown to our room. The staff and housekeeping were fantastic and professional with great tips about where to eat etc. The room heating was great and the shower had excellent pressure and hot water. We accidentally left our vital iphone in the room and housekeeping safely stored it for us until we could return to collect it.
- linda (10/5): - lovely spot
- Janet (8/5): - Lovely location, friendly staff. Unfortunately, there were issues with hot water services and two out of 3 nights, we could not have hot showers. The showers were also complicated and difficult to turn on.
- Jonathan (10/5): - We had a clean, spacious and well appointed room and a friendly welcome on checking in. Although we weren't walking it this time, Tyndrum lodges is incredibly convenient for the West Highland Way. We took advantage of this by having a lovely evening walk along part of it.
- Peter (6/5): - It is an average hostel. We had no hot water in the morning. The toilet seat was broken. Lots of noise from some equipment in the building.
- Michael (8/5): - Delay on arrival as problem finding our booking in Tyndrum’s room allocation system. Had to settle for a twin room rather than the King size bed we had booked. That aside, ok for an overnight stay.
- Martin (10/5): - I was a late arrival and an early check out so didn’t meet any staff in person. They were very helpful over the phone though. The room was perfectly equipped for my short stop over and was spotlessly clean. Would definitely recommend to others! Thanks
- Daniel (6/5): - Sheets smelled like cigarettes.
- Dave (10/5): - I am not recalling much as it was the 18th hotel. They are becoming indistinguishable.
- Patrick (10/5): -
- Glenys (8/5): - A nice and central place to stay while on our road trip0 around Scotland
- Charles (10/5): - The lady at the desk was super welcoming and helpful as could be with everything. Great property, comfy room in a beautiful setting
- leslie (8/5): Not a good start. - On arrival i went to reception and checked into be told my booking was for room only . My booking was for breakfast included and after quite a long discussion breakfast was provided in the form of a continental type breakfast in a paper carrier. This is all i was expecting and so all was well eventually. The room, bathroom cleanliness and the amenities available locally were all good or better. There does however seem to be a breakdown of communication between Hotels. Com and this establishment
- Colin (10/5): - we were walking and camping on the West Highland Way so this was like an oasis for us. the room was plenty big enough for us and our kit. it is less than 200m from the route. it is a 10 minute walk in to town for shopping, pubs and eating.
good value as well
- mick (6/5): - disappointed that there was an intermittent buzzing noise from ceiling area ,over bathroom, could have been a pump or heater ,but defiantly needs sorting out ,door to bathroom needed altering as very difficult to close without heavy push , and very difficult to open ,both problems down to lack /poor property maintenance, conveniently situated ,
- Morgan (10/5): - Great place. Plenty of parking and spacious rooms/bathrooms.
- Nora (6/5): - This place was like a motel, very basic. I booked a double room with breakfast included and the staff argued that it was not. When I proved it was in the booking, I was given a bag with 2 frozen pastries, an orange, apple juice, a little jam and a minuscule piece of butter. Not very happy for what they have charged for the room
- anne (10/5): - These lodges are a great find! The rooms are massive and very clean. Perfect base for hill walking.
- Paul (10/5): - Good stay
Great location
Free parking
- Vivienne (10/5): - Clean, warm & comfy room. Shower was excellent!
- Maria (10/5): - The staying was great ! Thanks !!
- Roger (10/5): Great stop over - Excellent facilties and perfect for what we wanted (one night stop over)
- Peter (10/5): - Lodges in a great location just outside village with easy walking distance to pub, cafe shops etc
- Jonathan (8/5): - Pleasantly surprised by this place. Super friendly staff. Comfy bed. Great nature nearby but also some cute little restaurants and bars.
- Nick (10/5): - Comfortable room with very large, comfortable bed. Staff friendly and accommodating
- Michael (10/5): Short break - Great break lovely room.
- Thomas (10/5): Great stay - No issues whatsoever. Friendly staff at reception, room larger than ecpected with shower and bath. Ate at local inn. Curries very good but bit hit. Stay was very good
- Tony (10/5): Highly recommended! - Remarkable value for money in a location where things can be very expensive. Very professional and courteous operators. Great location for scenery and amenities. Highly recommended.
- Samuel (8/5): - We liked the Tyndrum Lodges very much, but cannot fully recommend it due to a lack of a deadbolt on our room door. It is located in what appears to be a very safe area, but I would have slept better with better room security. Otherwise, we found it charming.
- Thomas (10/5): - If you are looking for somewhere quiet peicefull and some adventure tyndrum lodges are the place warm cozy large rooms close to anything you could possible need
- Alan (10/5): - Great location to stay large clean rooms, walk into village plenty of parking. Ideal stop for either way 2nd visit and will not be my last
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good stay! Thank you
- Richard (10/5): - Basic but nice
- Andrew (10/5): 1 night stay - Really good stay, the carpets seemed to be brand new, walls newly plastered and the beds were king size and seemed new.
I really liked that the lodges have only 1 floor as I've stayed in other hotels were you can hear children running around above you which can be annoying.
Brilliant night's sleep in the comfy beds and I'd return here on my next trip.
- Christine (10/5): Warm and Comfortable - This was my second stay at Tyndrum Lodges, which are well-located for hillwalking. I was very impressed with the welcome from the staff who could not have been more helpful. The room was spacious and the king size bed super comfortable. Shower was great and wifi good too. Didn’t opt for breakfast, since it’s a selection of items to have in the room. Glad to see all the rooms have fridges now. The grounds are lovely and the rooms spotless. One or two things are puzzling, like the toiletries provided being much more basic than I would have expected. It’s good value for a couple but a bit too expensive for one as far as I am concerned.
- Richard (6/5): - Basic room for the night. Bit expensive, quite noisy building, otherwise clean & comfortable.
- Caron (10/5): - The room its self was very big ,nice big bed ,clean shower ,tea, coffee sugar waiting and a couple of short bread buiscuits ,very welcome after a long drive,,we had issues with a very dirty kettle ,lots of brown substance in the bottom and around the sides ,we didnt see this until after our first drink,so will always check kettles are clean inside now , we did speak with the owner who sorted this in 5 minuites and swapped the kettle with a clean one,we was lucky we noticed it it think ,still not good though, its basic hygene and should be checked after every stay , we had to use the local cafe down the road and after a long 11 hour trip all you want to do is relax with a nice cuppa, we will definately stay again the places are really good for a 1-2 night stop off ,shops pub cafe very close ,about 6 min walk so ideal if you need a break from driving .
- Sue (8/5): - The accommodation was good, the staff were friendly but the breakfast wasn't very good.
- Susan (10/5): High quality property - Needed an overnight break stop to split our journey. Accommodation really high quality for this sector of the market. At this time of Covid very importantly everything was spotlessly clean from the reception area, chalet corridor and the room itself. Would highly recommend Tyndrum Lodges.
- Timothy (6/5): - We received a warm reception, and clean accommodation but did not appreciate being given my breakfast in a paper bag. Covid may be but at ÂŁ90 a night I do not expect a porrige pot, cake in a plastic bag and a cereal bar to eat in our room , we were not impressed.
- Susan (10/5): - We liked the friendly staff and size of room it was huge!
- Mikko (10/5): Great spot for Low Highlands explorers! - Excellent value for money, very clean room and lovely stay overalln
- Angela (10/5): A little piece of heaven - We absolutely loved our stay at Tyndrum Lodge! Right from the welcome when we checked in to the moment we left. The room was clean and comfortable and nicely furnished. The area is so peaceful, completely idyllic and a beautiful part of the country. I would love to go back again and stay longer. Would highly recommend!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Happy stay - Had a lovely stay at Tyndrum Lodge. The lady owner was very nice and welcoming. The room was very spacious, comfortable, and clean. Will definitely stay here again.
- Catherine (10/5): - Fun place to stay. The room had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. We were greeted warmly and the team were very helpful and informative. The lodge is in the middle of a very beautiful area and great base to explore the Lochs. Local amenities nearby by but not overly touristy which is lovely.
- George (10/5): West Highland Way - Walking the West Highland Way and this was the perfect stop for me. I was well received and had a very clean room for my stay. Will use again.
- Risikesan (10/5): - We had a great stay, and the staff were amicable and helpful.
- Gillian (10/5): - The bedroom was very large and clean. Had everything you needed and was modern and well cared for.
Lovely little village, had a few planes to eat within a short walk away.
Would highly recommend !
- Verified traveler (6/5): It just ok - Room is spacious but there is no chair and table provided in the room. The water pressure is so low it’s so hard to have shower with this kind of water pressure.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly staff, great room, good facilities including a very useful drying room
- George Laurentiu Dogaru (10/5): Outstanding place and extremely pleasant stay. - To be honest, we ( I, wife and daughter ) wern't expected that the place is so, so nice from all points of view. Surroundings are beautiful, fresh air, quiet place, etc....even the car park is very spacious-our large BMW had large room on the left and right after being parked into the parking bey. The palce is very well maintained.
The room was extremely large, with a huge and comfortable bed. Extremely clean, no negative things to mention about. We were sorry that we were unable to stay longer there. We wish we could visit this place often, but we live in Essex, 9 hours drive.
Not to forget the lady which did our check in ( blond hair ) saying hello with a big smile which makes you feel very welcome and very fast and efficient.
I will highly recommend this place.
- Nicolas (10/5): Affordable comfort for adventurous families. - What a lovely place to stay with friendly staff. Really enjoyed the night here in a room with 3 single beds. The drying room was a blessing with all our wet gear.
- Prashant (10/5): Great Location , Spacious and Clean Rooms - Great Location , Neat clean and spacious Rooms
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Exceptionally friendly staff and beautiful location
- Sharon Robertson (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay, friendly and welcoming. I would definately recomend anyo ne to stay in future.
- Colin (10/5): Comfortable base for exploring the area. - We enjoyed our stay here - the room was very large and comfortable, with ample parking and a short walk from the village amenities. The welcome was very friendly, and we were provided with a breakfast bag each morning with plenty of choice, which was actually really handy for being a bit more flexible about breakfast. The location was perfect for walking the West Highland Way, which goes right past the lodges.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing Stay - Very welcoming host, nice clean cozy room, good on spot parking, definitely would stay again.
Only suggestion, I wish check out timings could be till be 12.
- George (10/5): A quirky wee motel in the mountains - The lodges are very comfortable and the overall feel is like a motel. The staff were very friendly and helpful with Tyndrum in an excellent location for touring the area around the Trossachs and Oban. Would certainly come back again !
- Anne (8/5): Perfect location - The location was ideal for our one night stay en route to Skye
- Julijana (10/5): Would come back again - Clean, spacios room, large bed very comfortable. Breakfast was ok also
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice overnight stay - We got a twin bed which was not what we preferred but was still okay for overnight stay. It was on our way of itinerary and stay was pleasant, rooms were nice, clean, fresh and good size. Everything was in good order. Tyndrum had couple of decent restaurants where we took take away from and food was quite nice as well. Overall quite nice place to stay.
- ANDREW (10/5): Great weekend away - Very friendly hosts, great location near centre of village, rooms great quality and quiet. Will be returning.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good beds - Recently refurbed rooms, clean, excellent quality bed
- Shauney (10/5): Friendly hosts and fantastic location - We booked Tyndrum Lodges for a two night stay because of its affordability and location. Our room was immaculate and much more spacious than it looked on the photographs. Our en-suite bathroom had a bath and shower and was also very clean and tidy. Tyndrum Lodges is in a great location for access to both the Highlands and the Central Belt and Tyndrum itself is a very scenic village.
The hosts Rab and Elise were two of the friendliest hosts we’ve ever met. As soon as we arrived Elise was making sure that we had made dinner plans and had things to do during the day and Rab was great at giving us tips on where we should visit around the area. Would highly recommend Tyndrum Lodges to anyone who fancies a trip around the area.
- Martin (10/5): - Fantastic accommodation.
- Alan (10/5): Good base for exploring a beautiful area. - I recommend that you stay here. Big lodges containing several large, self contained rooms. Lots of grassland to give a sense of space to the area. Plenty of car parking. Very friendly welcome and assistance from hosts Elise & Rab.
- Verified traveler (10/5): convenient and very well presented - Despite difficulties relating to the Covid restrictions we felt that all that could be done had been done. We had a very nice room, the service was personal and attentive and the 'safety' breakfast was excellent. Pub over the road also excellent. A good place to stay.
- Karen (10/5): - Lovely and clean smell of bleach on entering and lodge was immaculate
