• Susan (10/5): Cool place to stay near the beach like going back in time, but with modern amenities. - So cool and unique. Also in a very great location you can walk to the Beach. The only downside is the train that runs through ever so often, but luckily the AC inside of the trailer worked great and was fairly loud. So we didn’t hear it at all that night.

The fire pit was beautiful and the complimentary smores were a plus. All in all it was a great stay cation. Next time I will stay longer than a day It was a little hard to find via gps and to get food delivered. The map shows a different entrance
• mcelestin2 (10/5): Great place / unique / not your usual hotel stay! - Awesome place. Vintage trailer was perfect as was the staff - especially Jesus and Amy. Lots of nice touches in the trailer and in the park. Will suggest to friends and will be back. Walked to the beach in 5 minutes, rode the bike trail to Ojai and back (30 miles total on ebikes) then to dinner next door upstairs to see the sunset at Transmission Brewery. Perfect 24 hours - next time at least 2 days.

• Stephanie (9/5): I never stayed in an rv before and this was a wonderful and unique new experience. - The re-furbished rv's with their own patio space were super cute and fun to stay in. We were a block from the beach and Ventura boardwalk. We loved all the little touches...like s'more kits at night and coffee and kitchen sink cookies in the morning. There's more but you'll have to stay to find out. It's definitely better than staying in a hotel. And they are dog friendly. The heater was pretty loud and it was cold enough that you needed it. It wasn't their fault but it was hard to find the location due to construction re-routing.

• rbr0912 (10/5): Great campground - Fantastic campground in the heart of Ventura. Close to the pier, downtown, shopping and other activities. The road to it is under construction right now so it made getting there was a challenge, especially with a 30’ airstream but the construction crew was super accommodating and helpful to make sure I didn’t bottom out. Totally worth the effort though, once we got there. Friendly staff who go out of their way to provide a fun and positive experience. Will definitely return next time I’m in the area
• 488taras (10/5): A vintage camping dream! - Waypoint is such a cool place. It is impeccably maintained. Super clean. We stayed at Princess Fiona and it was perfect for 4. All the treats (cookies, juicer, chia pudding etc) were delicious. The workers are all friendly and helpful. Trains go by but typically not bothersome. Great place to stay if visiting Channel Islands.
• Stay37722170840 (10/5): Hidden Gem in the Heart of Ventura - Great location. Nice vibes. Friendly staff. Many amenities - fresh baked cookies, coffee, tea, freshly squeezed juice, nice showers, grills and fire pits, etc. Visited in my RV. The only challenge is with road construction, it was difficult to find the RV park hidden behind the train tracks next to a light commercial section of town, but within walking distance of the pier, downtown and great restaurants. We would stay there again.
• Ulises (6/5): - Stayed here during a recent visit to Ventura. Upon arriving, I had a difficult time finding the property due to ongoing construction and multiple road closures. After driving around for a while, I eventually spotted a few small signs directing vehicles toward a detour that led to the property. I tried calling the office for assistance during this time but unfortunately didn’t get an answer. When I finally checked in, I was informed that I hadn’t received the detour instructions because I had booked through a third-party site. It would have been helpful if this information had been shared more widely. That said, the property itself was beautiful and exceptionally clean. The staff were amazing—friendly, welcoming, and very accommodating. The trailers were also spotless and well-maintained, though quite compact. I understand they’re trailers and not standard hotel rooms, but the bathroom was extremely small—so much so that it wasn’t possible to close the door comfortably for privacy. Because of this, I ended up using the public restrooms near the office when needed. The bed was a bit too firm for my personal preference, and the trailer did get quite cold in the evenings, though they do provide a space heater, which was appreciated. Overall, the property has a lot of charm and the staff really make a difference, but a few adjustments could make the experience even better.
• 348dinahw (10/5): Wonderful time spent at a unique and special place - We stayed at this great spot for our trip to Channel Islands National Park. It was so close to the Harbor so getting to the ferry for the island trip was quick and easy. There is some construction around the place so it's a bit difficult to find but oh so worth it. The RV's and the grounds are spotless. S'mores provided for FREE for a nice time to relax in front of the fire pit. AND wonderfully baked cookies for the morning with great coffee options! (FREE as well) Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The train noise is limited so don't worry about that.

The attention to detail is amazing with their home grown passion fruit desserts, their fresh baked kitchen sink cookies, the smores they hand out to guests for the multiple fire pits, they also provide oranges so you can squeeze your own juice. Staff was amazing. They have corn hole, hammocks, free bikes and a game room. It’s just a stones throw from the beach. I can’t wait to go back!

• poupak78 (10/5): Stylish Stay in a Perfect Spot for Channel Islands Adventures - We stayed in the Vintners trailer (#3) at Waypoint Ventura and had such a great time. The trailer was super clean, comfy, and had a cool retro-modern vibe. The little kitchen was really handy, and the bed was perfect after long days out exploring. We used Waypoint as our base for visiting Channel Islands National Park, and it worked out perfectly. Easy drive to the harbor, and nice to come back to a cozy spot afterward. The deck area in front isn’t private, but it’s still a great space to sit out and relax under the string lights. We also loved the morning treats—fresh cookies and chia cups were such a sweet and thoughtful touch! You’re also just a short walk to some great restaurants, which made dinners super easy and fun. There’s a communal fire pit if you feel like being social, but it’s also quiet enough to just chill out on your own. Can’t wait to come back and try a different trailer next time!

• Todd (6/5): Weird location but close to everything. - The concept was great. The actual trailer was ok but smaller than expected. Need electrical outlets by the bed. Bathroom sink smelled like sewage. No seating other than two stools. No decaf coffee. Had to go buy my own. Not even an offer since I was staying 4 nights. Staff not that friendly. We didn’t feel like hanging out much on the deck or grounds. Trailers need to be washed and detailed on the outside. Most looked ugly and dirty.
• Charlotte (10/5): Great location with a nostalgic vibe. - We previously lived in Ventura and come in for a quick couples date night so we are very familiar with the area. The location and access to the beach, restaurants, entertainment is great. The park has a nostalgic feel with thoughtful touches such as the corn hole set, community fire pit, complimentary coffee and s’mores, water bottles and coffee creamer in the fridge, selection of tea leaves, sleeping/eye masks on the pillows, private patios and beach comber bike access (wish we knew about the free bike usage beforehand). Our only complaint is there were no utensils/plates and the old school coffee pot in the room was a hassle. Why have a BBQ pit with nothing to put your food on? Bright back leftover from a local eatery, better cut up that steak before you bring it back to your trailer. Other than that, the location is great and the feel is wonderful.

• JBondoc (10/5): Charming Aesthetic by the Beach - This place has such a unique and wonderful aesthetic. It is meticulously managed, and the details are so thoughtful. Lots of variety in the trailers so, as some of the other tips mentioned, make sure to look at your options on the website to pick one that aligns with your priorities. There’s no getting around the fact that the location is wedged between the train tracks and the freeway, but it is also right next to the water and a short bike (with provided bikes to borrow) to the Main Street full of cute shops and great places to eat and enjoy some cocktails. This would be so fun with a group! We would definitely come back and highly recommend.

We loved all the little comfort items that came with our stay. Eye masks, gourmet teas and coffees, toiletries. And the fresh squeezed orange juice was the cherry on top.

• sparrott10 (10/5): An oasis of unique serenity in the midst of a lovely beach town - We brought our RV with us. We received the warmest welcome, and were immediately impressed with the layout, landscaping, and cleanliness of this relatively small but beautifully eclectic place. Despite being within walking distance of dozens of restaurants, activities, and the beach, it was quiet and had a calm ambiance. All things considered, it was one of the nicest RV resorts we’ve stayed in. There were so many quaint touches, along with immaculate and large private showers/restrooms. And those cookies, wow! Thanks Geneva! We’d love to come back with our slightly bigger than a sprinter LTV.

It is within walking distance of the crossway to the beach, and to many downtown attractions. • CWR01 (8/5): In a class by itself - Hard to know how to rate this place, since the concept (high end trailers) is something I have only done once before. And how can I rate it compared to more conventional hotels that have a natural advantage of space and size and service capacity? At the end of the day, I decided to rate it based on what it was and could be, without thinking about comparing it to conventional hotels/ On the plus side: (1) It has wifi (2) The trailer we stayed in (The "mansion") was cute, tastefully decorated, clean, and fun (3) Grounds are neat and clean (4) Staff was friendly (5) Conveniently located. (Trains go by and honk their loud horns every few hours, but thankfully none came by at night.) (6) Free GLASS bottled water (7) Fresh baked cookies every morning. (8) Separate shower and toilet trailer if you are overwhelming facilities in your own trailer. On the minus side: (1) It was really cramped, especially for someone my size (6'6"), but I guess that is inevitable given the form. (2) The fold out bed was REALLY uncomfortable, and it came with only one pillow, despite being a queen. (My bad for not asking if we could get another.)

Great amenities! - Stayed at this amazingly unique Waypoint Ventura Vintage Trailer Hotel in Ventura for 4 nights through the invitation and recommendation of our friends who were there for their airstream trailers camping group as well, and it was a blast! Nostalgia is the word that comes to mind soon as you entered the “compound “. You see vintage trailers that are actually the hotel trailers around the front entrance and about halfway are all the vintage trailers that are brought in by campers. I felt like I walked in to another timeline seeing all the different styles, colors and sizes of all the vintage trailer and the vibe was definitely on point by the way management has done with the whole ambiance, design and decore. Checking in to the place and welcomed by very friendly and helpful staff like Amy and the guy ( sorry I forgot his name) set the mood of our stay. Our place was lovely! We had the vintage Avion trailer that must have been made on the 60s refurbished into a nice and comfortable trailer hotel that had a little breakfast table, a kitchen with the basic necessities like coffee maker, microwave and kitchen sink, two single beds with Frette linens as a touch of luxury and bathroom is big enough to do everything you need to do including European toiletries and plush towels! Again, inside the trailer brings nostalgia because of the little decors such as a functioning tabletop record players with LP records which we enjoyed playing. The place was just adorable! Super dog friendly! Great location being that everything we wanted to do or go was walking distance. We walked to the beach, the pier, to downtown where we enjoyed their Farners Market day as well as all the surrounding restaurants and shops! Our other friends even went and biked to the nearby Ventura Harbor. Btw, they have bikes available for use if you ever want to bike. Every morning, they have coffee with freshly baked cookies and chia seeds cereal while every evening they have apple cider, hot chocolate and you can ask for the s’mores kit complete with chocolate and all that you needed to make s’mores in the fire pits that are lit in the common areas.We enjoyed the common area with our group of friends by grilling there and eating and making out s’mores every night! The only thing that might be an issue is the train passing by as it is definitely close to the tracks. But after a day, we just got used to it and it actually added to the ambience and of the whole experience ! Overall we definitely had a blast hanging out with our group of friends ! The place is so great! Very quiet and everyone is very friendly! Staff was excellent and the place is impeccable! I am already planning our come back here with the family!

• Lily (10/5): Loved the vibe and care and vision of the Waypoint, would definitely book again! - I appreciated all the “little things” like nice quality bathroom/shower toiletries, organic cotton linens, high quality and comfortable mattress!, local pour over coffee and loose leaf tea (things we enjoy at home and don’t usually get from a hotel or airbnb). Also, there are two fire pits to enjoy in the evenings (and they provide s’more fixings, hot tea and cider.) The campers are so cool and beautifully renovated. Suggestion, call or check their website to view and confirm all windows can open (ours worked but needed tlc to operate/open). There wasn’t anything I didn’t like. They go above and beyond in every aspect.

Fire pits get lit at night and nice hanging by fire with wine and not having to do any of the work. The property is located close to train tracks and at first I was worried but trains stop around 9pm.

The amenities were wonderful- homemade cookies, coffee, high quality tea, and fresh squeezed OJ in the morning offered for free! Shuffle board and fire pits complete with complimentary s’mores at night! We were blown away. The train goes by every once in a while, but it didn’t blown its horn at night at all. I work in voice over so need a quiet spot, and this suited all our needs!! It’s also walkable to both the beach and main st, Ventura!

The staff was very kind to us and I was able to get into our accommodations before the rest of the guests arrived . Everything went well. It’s very close to lots of restaurants.

• Cristy (10/5): - Waypoint Ventura exceeded our expectations. They had excellent customer service. The ladies were very kind and helpful. Thank you! This property was very clean and provided just the right amount of amenities for my husband and I to enjoy. Amenities included: two open fire pits, an area for corn hole play, a cute little gift shop that provided board games, cards, books etc. They also offer s’mores kits and bbq toolsets by request, as well as daily complimentary coffee, freshly baked cookies and citrus infused water near the check in desk. As well as bikes to rent ti explore the area. This property is within walking distance to plenty of restaurants and breweries. A must visit is Transmission Brewery and Toppers Pizza, which has a beautiful view of the ocean from their lounge area upstairs. Waypoint is situated next to the train tracks and will occasionally hear and see the train, however is a minor critique considering all the wonderful amenities and amazing customer service this property offers. I will definitely be coming back and would recommend this property to family and friends.

The "lot" was nicely decorated with two community (gas) fire pits. The host provided small snacks and drinks in the morning and smores with spiced cider in the evening. The good: Friendly staff Free use of bikes Walking distance to the beach over a highway overpass Fairly unique experience for those who have never stayed in a RV Clean Train, while it can be loud at times, did not run between 10pm and 8am Can't really hear traffic from highway 101 Needs a bit more work: The exhaust fans in our RV did not work - the one in the bathroom was a bit problematic Some of the paneling in our RV was detached from the ceiling One heating/cooling unit required a bit of fussing to get the temperature just right for us Our mattress had a dip in the middle Overall we had a great time and will not hesitate returning.

Area is very walkable to town, the beach and many restaurants. Smores by the fire with cozy blankets was a nice treat at the end of the day. Staff was great. Area was very clean and comfortable. We will be back!

• theskivagrant (10/5): Awesome place. Awesome people. Good location. CLEAN - Did not disappoint. The best. I traveled all over the country for work and have stayed in many the hotel, some of them pricey and exclusive, and Waypoint is by far the cleanest that I have ever experienced. Not the kind of hospital-Lysol-smelling-just mopped hallway clean, I mean no-need-to-try-and-hide-anything-with- chemicals clean. The grounds are spotless, bathrooms are spotless, the office is spotless, the vintage trailers are impeccably restored, and, you guessed it, spotless. With this standard in mind, you can rest assured the staff is very friendly and sincere, and truly are interested in you enjoying your stay. The vintage trailers are fully restored. It is easy to forget in these days of plastics, fiberglass, and faux wood paneling, how they used to make trailers with such beautiful real wood interiors. I did hear some highway traffic sounds during the day, but not the horn honking screeching type, it sounds more like waves on the beach. At night time it went quiet. I also heard some train horns during the day but that also went silent at night. Waypoint is perfectly located, a bit hidden, which I consider a huge security plus. I felt extremely safe at all times. It may be a bit hidden, but it is a hidden gem. It is a very short walk, about a half a block, to the end of the pedestrian overpass that goes directly to the pier and beach boardwalk. All of Ventura is very do-able on a bike, and they have plenty of bikes for you to use, gratis. The fresh breeze right off the ocean was an incredible perk compared to that normal stuffy hotel room air you would find anywhere else. At the office they also have milled cider, teas, coffee, other beverages, an electric juicer with oranges for you, warm fresh baked cookies, and smore kits to use at the firepits, all gratis. There are swings, bean bag toss, and other things. Sorry this has gotten so wordy. I have left out a lot. I could go on and on. Awesome place. I will be back, obviously.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - Fantastic place! The staff was very engaging and helpful. So many small things that are big that make it feel like a B&B. Access to games, books, corn hole, outdoor fire pit, s’mores, homemade cookies, squeeze your own orange juice, and more. The only negative was in the 6 trailer court (#1-6) maintenance was doing work on one of the trailers at 8am so it was awkward going out side to sit in your own patio or the fire pit community circle as 6 guys are working 20 feet from you. Looking at map, I had hesitance about being so close to 101 but I didn’t notice any noise as the apartment complex that is in between us acts as a noise buffer. Easy access to beach and pier, walking distance to a great taco bar, and a very short distance to Main Street with restaurants, bars, shops and more.
• Rosan (9/5): Superb - The coffee and smores on the fire, as well as the homemade cookies in the morning, were a great additional touch. We loved sitting around the fire in the evening. The noise early in the morning and being next to the train line. BUT they provide eye patches and ear plugs, which is positive.

• bradn620 (10/5): AWESOME!! - Waypoint by far has the best accommodations in Ventura for anyone seeking great ambience and wonderful staff! We have stayed here multiple times and whenever we come back the staff says “welcome home”. And it feels that way. Only about a five minute walk to Ventura pier and the sand. Complementary fresh made cookies, awesome local roasted coffee, squeeze oranges for fresh orange juice. Two fire rings to roast your complementary Smores! Adult size swings, cornhole, barbecue and sink area, and so much more. Oh, did I mention you can sign out one of their bikes at any time and ride into Ventura or go to the Beach for free too! Obviously he will be back.

Trailer was so awesome. Everything we needed but do bring all your kitchen supplies and have staff show you how to lovk door from inside. Could never get it locked. Am coming back in October with my sister
• Karen (10/5): - Cannot recommend the Waypoint Ventura enough!! After reading other reviews, I couldn't resist booking this location for a unique experience. We arrived late after a day of travel and the lady at checkin was so pleasant and accommodating. As many others have mentioned, there are so many special touches. We were able to spend some time at the fire to make Smores and borrowed the bikes in the morning to ride along the beach - perfect! Other reviews have mentioned concerns about how it is located along the train tracks but this is not a problem. We didn't hear a train from the time we went to bed to the time we got up in the morning. Wish we could have stayed longer and if we are ever in the area again we will be back. Thank you Waypoint!
• Camper07343322443 (10/5): Luxe “camping” near the beach - Memorable stay for our 20th Wedding Anniversary! We spent 2 nights at Waypoint (#4 Navigator) and they are so thoughtful with their special details such as ear plugs, eye masks, nice toiletries, comfy bed, AC, Wi-Fi, TV. etc. The staff is very helpful, and the housekeeping staff were also helpful and attentive! Waypoint grounds felt very safe, with a locked gate that can only be accessed with a gate code. Great lighting throughout the grounds, yet there’s privacy. The passing train was not as noisy as I thought it would be and I used the provided earplugs. We enjoyed s’mores by the fire, and the fire pit is turned off promptly at 10. The location is awesome! We walked to Robely’s for pastries and coffee and another morning to Corrales for breakfast burritos. The beach is a 10 minute walk away via a bridge that goes over the freeway. Great lunch at Eric Ericsson’s on the pier. Short walk to Transmission Brewery rooftop (21 and over only on rooftop) and watch the sunset and enjoy a cold beer. Great service there!! Wish we had another day to enjoy the bicycles and one more night at Waypoint. We are already planning our next trip!
• mannygeezee62 (10/5): Waypoint Ventura Vintage Trailer Hotel - My wife booked a Waypoint Ventura Vintage Trailer Hotel for our 20th anniversary weekend and we loved it. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was great we were walking distance to all the great downtown restaurants, bars, cafes and breweries. The pier and beach were just a short walk over a footbridge over the 101. The trailer was fantastic clean and roomy. The facilities were great and included free bike rentals, fire pit with complimentary S'mores kits, and secured entry and fencing at night. There is no stove just a microwave and small refrigerator, but with so many great places to eat, who needs to cook. We stayed at trailer #4 "The Navigator". We also got to escape the 100⁰+ heatwave at home 👍👍👍👍👍

• NewarkGin (10/5): What a great place to stay! - Wanted to try out one of these campers during our two day visit to Ventura because we’d never stayed in one before and were unlikely to do so at this stage of our life, and the excellent reviews made it an easy choice. My husband is slightly claustrophobic so I chose “Manor” which seemed to have a fairly spacious layout. The railroad is right next to the campers, but we never heard it run at night so was not a problem. There were only a few other sites being used on the Monday and Tuesday we stayed (and none in our courtyard) so it was very quiet. There is a locked/code accessed gate in. We walked to the beach and local restaurants. We did not use the bikes but there were plenty of them. There was a fire pit in our courtyard that staff turned on each evening (and provided S’Mores kits), and there were strings of lights at each site which made it very festive. Pour-over coffee paraphernalia was provided in the unit along with a microwave, fridge, tv, fresh water in glass bottles, dish soap, and excellent toiletries. The Manor had a spacious seating area and kitchen area. The shower was on one side— east and comfortable to use. Queen bed in the rear was very comfortable with nice linens. There was not a lot is space to get around back there, but it was adequate. We especially liked the two large and two small shelves for our suitcases and other bags. There was also a door to the outside so we could just hand the suitcases out to the car easily, they provided sleep masks because there is a lot of ambient light that comes in even during the night. Also provided ear plugs but we didn’t need these either. Opposite the shower was the toilet and sink room. It was tiny; if you sit on the toilet in a normal position, you cannot close the door ( however if you sit sideways, you can). This was not a problem for us, but I could see it might be for some people. TBS, right across from this unit is the office and a trailer with a more liberally sized toilet and shower. Coffee, OJ and tiny yogurt cups were available in the morning in the “office”. The two young ladies we met ( a day worker and a night worker) were incredibly friendly and helpful; they made you feel that it was there mission that you have an outstanding experience—and we did!

• Jamie (10/5): Great - I needed a short getaway because my family was driving me insane. I picked Waypoint because I hate hotels and this is as far from a that as you can get without being in a tent. The people that run it are very nice, thorough and professional. The trailers are roomy and beautiful inside. Very comfortable, quiet, great bed and immaculate. There is purified water in little milk bottles, loose tea, and freshly ground coffee with a pour over filter, not a dirty Nespresso machine. There's always fresh coffee and teas in the office. Also, mornings you can make yourself fresh Orange juice. At night it's mulled cider, hot cocoa and the fixings to make s'mores over the fire pit. Finally, it's close to the beach, the pier and Main Street where you can find a plethora of thrift shops.
