Dennis D (6/5): - It was easy to get a room. Manager/owner was very nice. Liked that it had a balcony viewing the lake. Didn't like that there were no washcloths in bathroom and had to go to office to get them. There were no coffee/condiments with the coffee pot.

Kelsey (2/5): - The room we got a first was muggy when we opened the door and had visible mold on the night shades, as well as mosquitos and other smaller bugs. When I went to the desk to ask for another room, the man did mention the bugs are not mosquitoes. So there was some hesitancy to exchange the room but he did do so. The new room was not muggy or too buggy but it didn’t look very clean. To me I would expect a better kept room for almost $100/night, but this place has the market for motels in the area!

Went to go take a shower and the shower did not work nor with the drain even close so I could take a bath. They moved me to another room, but it kind of had a funky smell .

Verified traveler (4/5): Great view of lake- Poor Value - Very old property that has been renovated. While appearance is fine, general overall condition is lacking. Stairs look to be in need of replacing. Bath linens are very thin quality and bath cloths thin with holes and bad staining. You are only provided with 1 bath towek, 1 hand towel and 1 bath cloth per person in the room. Beds have a thin sheet as a topper and it was impossible to be comfortable due to temperatures being too cold with not even a thin blanket. Floors need mopping. When checking in, your card is run for the entire stay. While I didn't have an issue with that, per se, I found it odd. It was impossible to get the front desk to answer. No breakfast provided. Not even a coffee pot in the room. No hair dryer in the room. No iron in the room. For the price, you're better off driving to Ruston to stay at a better property with better amentities. I wish i could have given a more posotive review because i like to support small local businesses. I hope the owner takes note and makes improvements or lowers the price.

Julia (4/5): - The room smelled like fish to the point that I had to go buy a candle and air freshener. They only provided two towels. When I requested pull up service, the owner actually asked if I couldn’t make the bed myself. Then he proceeded to say to my boyfriend, “you own her for now at least, right?!” Referring to me. Are you kidding me? This is the US and it’s 2025. I’m a doctor! Nobody has ever or will ever OWN me! That said, the location was perfect for fishing, which is what we wanted. Sadly, it did not meet my standards, even though I prepared myself for it not being bougie. Bougie is one thing… fresh and clean is a whole other thing! And not being insulted isn’t too much to ask for!

There is a restaurant is right next to the motel and the Dollar General is literally right next door! Rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. Small lakeside restaurant between the motel and the lake. About 25 minutes from Ruston. Farmersville had a well stoked grocery store

I was really grossed out and would have left, but was in town for a funeral and there were no other options available. I will not go back where there are roaches crawling. Ugh!!!!

The bottom of the shower curtain was moldy. The view is beautiful- it overlooks the lake. Parking was easy probably because no one stays there because it's gross.

Verified traveler (8/5): - the hotel was nice. nicer than I expected. my view of the lake was blocked by a view of a old broken down bar. that was a bit disappointing. but the room was clean. there is a great restaurant walking distance. and it was quiet and safe.

After talking to the owner the next morning he said that stuff doesn’t usually happen. He was very kind. We will stay again.

Nancy (10/5): Our Weekend In The Middle Of The Week!!!!! - Mr. Charlie was so nice. He had my reservation ready and had me checked in in less than 5 minutes. i work at one of the top branded hotels in the country....so im very picky But the pool was beautiful and was perfect temp...overlooking the lake(darbonne) and never once did he ask us to get out of the pool.....he let me stay in it until i was ready to get out. Although its not the Hilton!!! I freaking loved it!!!!! My people loved it!!!!! And i will be going back on my next off day!!!!!! See ya soon Mr Charlie!!!!!
Wendy (8/5): - The manager was very kind and made sure I had everything I needed especially when I ordered food to go and didn’t receive anything to eat it with. Showers had great water pressure! The air conditioner was SO loud coming on and shutting off. Our microwave kept turning on and off. We eventually unplugged it so we could sleep.
Debbie (10/5): - This was a great place to stay and we would definitely stay there again. It’s just a simple motel with outside doors, nothing fancy. It was very clean. The beds were very comfortable with clean crisp linens. The back of the room has a balcony that faces the lake. The staff was very friendly. The bathroom was nice with a big shower. It has a microwave and fridge. It does NOT have a coffee maker and they don’t serve breakfast. All in all we were very pleased.

We had to upgrade our room since my son decided to come with us, but it was reasonable, and for a smoking room, didn't smell horrible. I will say that double beds are small when you're used to sleeping in a king, especially for two humans and a German Shepherd service dog. They were comfortable, though, so once you got into place it was good night. The fridge was clean and cold; the microwave could have used an update and the toilet been a bit cleaner. Nothing that would stop me from staying again. Very pleased with it all.

Liked the shower-tub combo, but there isn’t anywhere to put your clothes while you’re bathing. I’d love if there were some sturdy wall hooks for that. Sliding glass door in back of the room allows for access to the yard. We would definitely stay there again while visiting friends and family in the area. Lakeview rooms are available.

Brad (8/5): Perfect no frills stay. I'll be back - We were there for an event in town. The rooms were pretty clean. No spotless but just as clean as any other hotel I have ever stayed in. The beds were clean and pretty comfortable. The water pressure and hot water were great. Big, new TV with Direct TV. AC worked well but was a tad loud. Don't be deterred by the looks of it or any reviews. For a no frills stay this fits the bill nicely. The pool was also clean. Great views of the lake from 235 where we stayed. Overall a great stay on a budget.
Andrea (8/5): - Checking was easy and people were nice. Room was clean, cool and comfortable (we got one of the updated/renovated rooms). Very good, at this price point for the kids and I having an overnight stay well visiting friends. There was a minor, slight musty smell, but they had not yet updated the curtains and this motel is right on the lake, so that wasn’t a big surprise. I think once they update the curtains that smell will be gone.
