• James (8/5): Clean and comfortable though a disappointing breakfast. - The room was very clean and nicely arranged with attractive decor and all key facilities. However the bathroom mirror was too high. We had a rather cool welcome and there was little dialogue with the hosts. We have stayed in many B&Bs but the breakfast was not comparable to most other places. There was no juice, no cereals, no fruit or yogurt and only instant coffee. The cooked breakfast was tasty though somewhat minimal.

The lady of the house wasn't friendly at all she wouldn't even great and talk to us. Maybe she didn't like us. The pool wasn't cleaned before our arrival our kids had to clean it on their own, it was only cleaned after we used it. They were complaining about lot about noise even during the day. We we told to speak softly and no music.

• Ruben (9/5): Highly recommend - Our stay at Blue Fern in Knysna was excellent. The place has all the necessary amenities for the traveler. The room was spacious, with its own terrace, the bed was very comfortable, and the refrigerator, television and bathroom worked perfectly. We liked the location of Blue Fern very much because it is located in a very quiet, nice and safe residential neighborhood and 5 minutes walk from a supermarket. The breakfast prepared by the owners themselves was very good, in our case we tried a great English breakfast. By far the best thing about this place are the hosts, who very kindly guided us to visit the city and its surroundings. Steve recommended several tours that turned out to be a success. We highly recommend Blue Fern and would definitely come back.

A small swimming pool brings relief on a very hot day. I forgot my Visa card and they text me, so I could return to pick it. Maybe the ceiling fan that is a little slow for the hot days ...

After I checked out of the property, Christa phoned and informed me that I had forgotten my expensive earphones at the property. She even packed it nicely for the couriers. Very accommodating. In summer months, may be a bit hot.

• Japie (10/5): Cosy and quiet stay amidst a busy Knysna - It’s a great location if you are planning to do the Knysna Half or full Marathon and need a place to crash. Situated between the Knysna High School sport grounds (2.2 km West) and the Taxi pick up point (1.1km East). You can keep your car safely parked whilst you do your thing. Affordable without dropping in cleanliness or comfort. Nothing really. There is no microwave in the room which altered some of the plans. (Please note that the room description did not indicate a microwave will be available-I am nitpicking-the smaller the criticism, the bigger the compliment).

Excellent shower with always warm water. I didn’t relax outside as that isn’t too vibey, but to stay it’s perfect.
