• Verified traveler (6/5): Cheap stay - Refrigerator although it worked was old and rusty. The room could do with some upgrades but for the price it was ok. Hotel located nicely by ocean.
• Egor (10/5): - This hotel is such a hidden gem! It’s right by the ocean, and the restaurant is fantastic. For the price, the room condition is awesome—everything is clean and in perfect working order. The food is delicious, and the view of the ocean is simply breathtaking!

• Christina (6/5): - The staff is great. The room, could have been better. There were some holes in the wall by the bed that they could have patched up or at least painted. There is no elevator and we were on the top floor (3rd fl). Imagine having to climb all those stairs with luggage and a baby every day. There is no iron, no phone in the room to call the front desk if you need something. If you need to iron you have to take your clothes down to the laundry room if you don't want to be wrinkled. One night it was dark and I saw something crawling on the floor. I stepped on it with my slipper and it was a ROACH! When I went to report it, the girl at the front desk asked me if it was just one roach. Are you kidding me??? There should not have been one in the room to begin with!!! Then the shower was dripping and the water pressure wasn't that great. I did report and they did fix the dripping. Also, they do have a pool but the pool is located in an awkward area, right next to the dining area. And it's not closed off so someone can easily accidently fall in. They should probably close it off or relocate it. Who wants to be in the pool when a bunch of people are eating all around them? Maybe it's just me. Although the view is amazing, and the staff is friendly, I would not stay again. The only reason I stayed there is because I have family that isn't too far away.

Staff were wonderful and a nice breakfast. The restaurant looks out on the ocean - so nice. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel.

The hotel is not appropriate for foreign tourists (no towels for pool, only cold water faucet for bathroom sink, poor repair and dirty building. Staff is lovely and location looks out on dramatic ocean surf.

The place was clean and beautiful and the food at the Restaurante Cocorri was phenomenal. But the most memorable part was the way they treated me when I got hurt. I tripped walking up the step and dislocated my pinky. Jeremy (I believe is the manager) drove me to the hospital himself, AND gave me cash for a ride back. ¡Excelentes hospitalidades!

• Marie (2/5): - This was the worst stay during my stay in costa rica. Hotel being old is not an issue but it is very dirty. The towels, sheets, shower curtain was were stained and filthy. The room, walls, shower, sink was very dirty. There were dried up specks on the bathroom wall and the bathroom smelled like urine. Mattress was filthy and mildewed. Restaurant food was descent. The pictures are not what the property looks like or the true condition. This place is away from it all so, you’re stuck there unless you’re able to find other accommodations which is very difficult. It’s on the beach but no direct access. It’s barricaded by huge rocks. We walked on the main road to the beach which was the only positive of the trip. The food in the restaurant was decent. If you plan on staying here, bring towels, sheets and don’t expect what you see online. I do not recommend this hotel.

• MalloryH407 (10/5): Amazing View Close to Moin Dock for Tortuguero Transfer - Everything about our night here exceeded our expectations. As soon as we walked in, my husband said “this place is great.” We had a room on the front of the hotel over looking the water and the view was amazing. As soon as we put our luggage in our room, we headed to the pool to enjoy a drink overlooking the ocean. We ate dinner and breakfast at the restaurant and had a great table right on the water. The food was great. The staff and manager (Jeremy) were also great and offered to help line up transportation in case we needed their help. It is also very close to the Moin Dock that offers boat rides to Tortuguero.
• Randal (8/5): - The stay was comfortable. I was expecting my room to look like the rooms on the hotels.com website. Must be old pictures. Overall it was a good value and served its purpose. The staff was very good and the housekeeping staff took very good care of our room.

Todo el personal muy amable en especial el security “pablo” nos ayudo a crear la logística del viaje. El mozo que nos atendió en el restaurant en las noches gracias por su paciencia, muy cortes y amable. La vista desde el restaurant es increíble. Fue un corto viaje a playa bonita pero una linda experiencia.

It is clean with a nice view of the ocean, but it is dated with mismatched furniture and the shower head splatters water all over the bathroom. They are renovating the pool and there is no direct access to the beach. Breakfast and parking are included.

The security was scary… unsecure entry door to your room, very flimsy, no pool working. The saving grace is the public beach nearby and the hotel’s restaurant served good food. But it was scary going to your room at night…

The highlights are an impressive ocean view and easy access to a small beach/tide pool area, an unusually good restaurant and pool, and helpful staff. The Caribbean dishes are especially good if you need a change from the generally bland CR food. It is not walking distance from anything worth walking to, however, so a bit isolated that way.

The location is perfect with direct access to the beach (small but just enough for us!). The view is fantastic, and the service very nice. We weren't successful at the restaurant with the food, but the service made it up for it.

• CFEIII (8/5): Hotel Playa Bonita - I stayed here a week, great to drift off to sleep lulled by the surf crashing against the rocks. I had a third floor room, but away from the beach side. On stormy days, I could hear the surf over the a/c. Pretty nice facility, not real fancy, but adequate. Good showers, comfortable beds, overall pretty clean. Friendly people, they were quite helpful.
• Charles (8/5): - Nice hotel, great breakfasts! When it was rainy and windy, I could hear the surf from my room! The restaurant was really nice, ribs, fried red snapper, and a fish filet with shrimp cream sauce were my favourites. It was easy to just stay at the hotel instead of going into town.

• Cristina (6/5): - The location is beautiful, and the restaurant dinner excellent, but I booked a room with an ocean view and a queen bed and a double; my room had a very small double bed. When I told them about it, they said they do not have queen size beds at all and yes, they do have rooms with two beds. When I asked for some compensation, they said they charged based on people not rooms-I looked again in Expedia and that is not the case. Breakfast was supposed to be buffet-it was not, and when I asked for more fruit, it was very hard to get with no charge.

• joe (8/5): Wonderful Staff Nice View - Hotel Playa Bonita has a GREAT staff, but the hotel is a bit dated. The restaurant is good; be sure to try the planters punch! The wifi is very unreliable -- if you need to work remotely, it's just not usable. Again, really great, friendly staff! Pura Vida!
