• Tiphaine (9/5): Séjour agréable ! - Le personnel accueillant et chaleureux. Le ménage de la chambre tous les jours. Les équipements de la chambre notamment la climatisation, le ventilateur, les bouteilles d’eau. Très bon emplacement. Certaines photos ne correspondent pas exactement à la réalité. L’hôtel reste vraiment très bien, mais il faut s’attendre à une légère différence.

• Martin (9/5): Stay in a quiet alley in the middle of the city center - The rooms are very nice and well furnished often also offering a balcony. The beds are very comfortable. The hotel is located in the middle of a great neighborhood, which is not too loud and hosts a market in the mornings. The staff is very friendly and granted us an upgrade because the better room was still available.

The room is spaceous enough. And while there are other negative reviews about the aircon, our room was very cold with 2 air conditioners and a ceiling fan. Staff were very accommodating too.

Dann habe ich kostenlos einen besseren Raum bekommen, sehr freundliches Personal. Rezeption hat immer offen. Wäsche Service vorhanden und Wäsche kam sauber zurück. Leider sind die Räume im ersten Stock nah an der Straße deshalb sehr laut. Ein Raum im oberen Stockwerk ist super.
• Max (1/5): Slechtste ervaring ooit in een hotel (zelfs achteraf nog) - - Dit is zonder twijfel de slechtste ervaring die ik ooit met een hotel heb gehad. Wat een leuk begin van onze vakantie in Hanoi had moeten zijn, veranderde in urenlange stress, frustratie en onzekerheid. Zelfs na de reis ben ik hier nog steeds veel tijd aan kwijt door alle communicatie, het achter geld aan moeten gaan en een chargebackprocedure. Deze situatie heeft onze vakantie serieus verpest. Wij checkten op 24 april 2026 met vijf personen in bij Ancient Lane Hotel in Hanoi. Bij aankomst zagen wij direct dat de kamers totaal niet overeenkwamen met de foto’s op Booking.com. De kamers waren vies, slecht onderhouden en meerdere zaken waren defect. Daarom hebben wij direct foto’s gemaakt en zijn wij naar de receptie gegaan om aan te geven dat wij hier niet wilden verblijven. De receptioniste nam contact op met leidinggevenden, waarna ruim drie uur aan discussies en telefoongesprekken volgden zonder duidelijke oplossing. In plaats van begrip te tonen, kregen wij vooral te horen dat het hotel geld zou mislopen doordat wij wilden vertrekken. Wij hebben meerdere keren uitgelegd dat de accommodatie simpelweg niet voldeed aan wat geboekt en betaald was. Later kwam een vrouw ons helpen die zei niet van het hotel zelf te zijn. Tijdens dit gesprek werden ook ongepaste opmerkingen gemaakt, waaronder dat wij als blanke toeristen “genoeg geld hadden” en daarom niet moeilijk moesten doen over geld. Uiteindelijk is een document opgesteld en ondertekend waarin stond dat wij ons volledige geld terug zouden krijgen. Tot op vandaag hebben wij echter nog steeds niets ontvangen. Via WhatsApp krijgen wij alleen excuses over feestdagen, weekenden of dat ze “er later naar gaan kijken”. Ook Booking.com heeft geprobeerd contact op te nemen met het hotel, maar kreeg geen reactie. Ik raad dit hotel absoluut af, niet alleen vanwege de staat van de kamers, maar vooral vanwege de manier waarop er met gasten wordt omgegaan wanneer problemen ontstaan.

• Aleš (6/5): Could be better - Location is great. Room was not clean enough. Safe was not ready to use, we had to ask for a key to use safe. The safe was not firmly attached to a wall or anything so it would be possible to carry it away. TV was not working at all. We did not try to turn on the celling fan because was covered in dust.

Value for money, and the staff are very accommodating and friendly, The service was excellent, and the staff were always ready to assist us.

• Anne Catherine (6/5): Ok - Bien placé pour une nuit, on avait pris l'option la moins chère parce qu'on y passait juste quelques heures. La chambre au rez-de-chaussée est proche de la récepetion et du lobby, ça résonne quand des gens parlent ou rigolent.

The room I got was a bit cramped but a got worth for money since I was just staying for one night. Also very near to city centre and shopping areas. Very easy to get grab from there. Have to walk a bit into the buildings to reach the hotel.

There was no air-conditioning in the lobby or proper airconditioning in the room. The interior of the room was slightly old. The shower didn't have a door or curtain and was wetting the toilet which was inconvenient. The room was smaller than it appeared in the picturea.

Thank you for everything! - When in Hanoi I stay at the ancient lane, maybe not the newest and most spacious rooms but I love the area/location in the small cozy road and the personal is very friendly and helpful in every situation. Bathrooms could be cleaner and the wifi does not work on the 8th floor but we enjoyed our stay nevertheless!

• Charlotte (7/5): Rustige prima plek in centrum van Hanoi - De lokatie is heel fijn, midden in het centrum in een rustige straat. Kamer is niet groot maar voldoet. Prima bedden en badkamer met alles wat je nodig hebt. Het personeel is vriendelijk. We hebben alleen contact gehad als we zelf een vraag hadden. Er is altijd iemand aanwezig.
