- Léa (9/5): Strongly recommend !!! - We had an amazing family room with view on the sea.
The staff was adorable.
We loved the onsen and the dinner.
The breakfast is Japanese breakfast, we they offered a pancake option for the children.
the hotel is located on a hill, so it's a bit of a climb in case you're biking. We were biking the Shimanami Kaido, so it would have been helpful if the hotel helped for the transfer of our luggage to our next destination.
- Philippe (10/5): - Bedrooms have the best view and there is a very nice onsen. There is quite.a hill to get there by bike.

- Justyna (10/5): - The meals were amazing, very traditional and beautiful. The view from the room was outstanding, and it was a pleasure to stay there. We were on the way of Shimanami Kaido, and indeed the last bit is very challenging (I just walked my bike), but the views are worth it.
- Ligia (9/5): - Nice and clean. The public bath was really good. The views were amazing, if you go by car don’t worry about the location. But if you go by bike, be aware of the climb up.
- Jacqueline (7/5): - Lovely view. Old style hotel with good service. My room was tiny. Also up a very big hill which is a challenge for a cyclist!
- Sandy (7/5): -
- Chih Peng (8/5): -
- J michelle (9/5): Wish I could have stayed longer to try more dinner options!! - The room was quite spacious, the view was wonderful and I appreciated the hotel shuttle service picking me and my bike up!! That hill would have killed me. The dinner and breakfast were amazing. 10/10 would recommend. A little dated, but the service and food were so superior, who cares

- Zac (10/5): - The Staff were really helpful, and the facilities were good! We thoroughly enjoyed the food and view! Keep in mind if you are staying here after a bike ride, it is at the top of a very big hill 😆

- David (8/5): Great views - Great views and nice onsen. It is a hard walk up a hill to get here.
- James (8/5): Nice stopping point for the cycle route - Great morning views
Onsen is well maintained and clean
Breakfast was yummy
Rooms are clean Smells of cigarettes a bit in the hallways
Very steep hill to get here, be aware
Windows are dirty so they hinder the beautiful sunrise view!
- Powers (7/5): Good -
- Koren (9/5): I really enjoyed my time at the hot - No individual showers in the rooms at all
- Nori (8/5): Very good -
- Theresa (9/5): Relaxing, quiet and clean Japanese style hotel with magnificent views. - This was a mid-route overnight stop for me while cycling the Shinamani Kaido path across 6 islands. It was well worth having a break in the 70km distance. The views were fantastic from the top of the hill but it was pretty tough reaching there by bike (40 minutes of pushing the bike up there…ha ha…worth it, though). The employees spoke limited English but we figured everything out easily. Dinner was very tasty, views from the room were spectacular and everything was very clean. I didn’t experience the communal bathing and would have preferred a shower in the room but I understand that this is a traditional style hotel. Very lovely experience overall.
- Yoko (7/5): Quite unique old style hotel but very comfortable. - Hard to get to by bicycle... but once you are there, it was better than we thought. Especially cherry blossoms time. The building itself hasn't updated or maintained well.
- Benedikt (10/5): Very nice room with amazing view over a lovely island region. - One of the most stunning views I ever had in a hotel room. Waking up with this amazing landscape at your feet was truly breath taking and worth every penny. Staff was very nice and helpful, breakfast(tradition japanese) also was very good and price-worthy. I wish the double room had a queen size bed instead of 2 separate ones, but it's managable.
- Fabian (8/5): Very good - As a cyclist I had a great time in the hotel. The communication was good and the food great. The hotel will need some renovations in the onsen area. But the onsen was still a great place to relax in the morning and evening.
- Chenoa (8/5): Very good - The baths were awesome and staff were super helpful in making us feel as welcomed as possible. We rode our bikes here and the hill to the hotel destroyed us. Nice views though.
A bit old, but has a nice vibe to the place.
- Nha (7/5): Good - Staff was kind to drop us off at the bus stop the next morning Nothing
- Rachel (10/5): Experience the Countryside - I really loved this retro hotel on top of the mountainside. I had the mysterious looking onsen all to myself several times around 9-10 pm and it was so cool. The view is amazing and the food was very good. Just know that you are really in the countryside and to get to Onomichi it is going to take at least an hour using public transit. Taxis are available as long as you are willing to spend a little money. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I used this hotel as my home base while doing the Shimanami Kaido and it was nice to come "home" to a hot meal and hot onsen after a full day of biking.
- KATSUSHI (8/5): - The location is good. It’s quiet and beautiful.
- Abbott (8/5): Amazing views to wake to. No bathing with tattoos - It was a stopping point along the shiminami kaido coming from imbari. Has amazing views.
The room is decently size with 2 beds and they give you a yukata to wear. The rooms don't have showers, it's just a public bath and they don't allow tattoos.(fault on me for not thinking that through), so I had to basically wash myself in the sink.
The place is a bit older tho still clean.
The doors are metal and are loud when people are entering exiting.
The views were amazing but the windows were a bit dirty so it took away from the views.
There's not much going on around the place and the hill to get up it is steep..
- Margaret (4/5): I won’t be going back - It was a traditional hotel which means there was no bed nor a private bathroom
- Jonathan (8/5): Very good - Nice views around the inland sea. Staff are really friendly and I enjoyed the ten course dinner!
(5/5): Easy to stay for a quick trip - Seanary, Wide Spa Wall cracked
- Isadora (10/5): - The property has views of both sea views of Innoshima depending on which side of the hotel your room is on. Both are equally beautiful.
Order your lunch or dinner in advance at the front desk; the sashimi here is as fresh as it gets and the restaurant has beautiful sea views also.
I didn't get to try the sauna/baths, but I will be sure to do so next time I stay.
I highly recommend Hotel Innoshima if you have a car to get here. If you are travelling the shimanami kaido by bicycle, it would be quite tiring to access this hotel, unless you are a seasoned athlete. It is high up a long, steep winding road.
Thanks to all the wonderful Hotel Innoshima staff for an enjoyable stay.
- Stella (9/5): Superb - excellent location, right in the Innoshima Park, overlooking Setonaika little run down. onsen small n need to walk downstair from lockers (barefoot).
- Andrew (9/5): Underrated. - Breakfast delicious
Views fantastic Noisy doors
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Avishai (7/5): Good -
- Karen (9/5): perfect visit to the Inland Sea - perched on top of the hill, beautiful views in every direction
lovely food and friendly staff brutalist architecture is not immediately welcoming but inside is wonderful
- Renars (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- Verified traveler (6/5): -
- Steve (10/5): - The food in the dining hall was excuisite.
The puic bathe had a wonderful view and was very relaxing
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The view from our room was spectacular! The staff were so helpful and kind even though we speak no Japanese. While the rooms may not be 5 star, I would definitely stay here again. A very enjoyable stay.
- Verified traveler (4/5):
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
