michael (8/5): Great stay in Cagliari - Our stay didn't get off to a good start as I had not read the small print about check in being between 5pm and 10pm so when we got there mid-afternoon, we found the venue closed and locked. We rang the contact telephone number and were informed that Matthew would meet us at the lodgings at 6.30pm, the earliest he could get away. He didn't arrive until 7pm so we spent quite a while waiting in the street. The property has no lift so we had to take our luggage up by hand up two flights of stairs. Property comprises a small reception area, with a coffee machine, and 3 bedrooms off to the side. Our room was adequate with a 'courtyard view'. The 'courtyard' was in fact an outside space with a view of several drainpipes, stored bike and general storage area. Breakfast was included, but this was off site at a small café down the road. It was adequate with a coffee, croissant and glass of water via a voucher system, but other items could be purchased in addition. Location in the historic part of Cagliari was superb, tourist info centre at bottom of the road as is the train station and bus depot. Recommend the city bus tour to familiarise yourself with city for 12 euros per person. Plenty of restaurants of all types close by with plenty of green spaces to sit and people watch. We didn't see Matthew again during our stay, and on departure left the keys on the desk.
