Guest Reviews
- Peter (10/5): A delightful stay in a very traditional property. - Very traditional. Warm welcome. Walk in shower. Great location. Car was parked in a garage. Coffee, chips and cookies Nothibg
- Christina (10/5): -
- Don (8/5): Great location, historic site and great service - Sunny, the manager was superb. Very friendly and accommodating
The house is over 100 years old. you can't expect a brand-new hotel. It has charm, its clean and roomy. It needs a little TLC but it's clear its happening
The location is great for historic downtown. It's only a 5-minute walk to George St
Parking in back is secure Weekend price is pricey but you can get a single day rate. Many hotels and B&Bs require a 2 day reservation
- Oisin (10/5): - I loved everything about it!
- David (10/5): - Location was a very quiet and relaxing location.

- Michelle (10/5): -
- Antoine (1/5): Got held up in Orlando with a car issue. Tried to find a rental to make it there since we prepaid the room, but all cars - It looked like a really good alternative to the regular place we go to in st Augustine. The attitude of the staff
- J Dussich (10/5): Great gem near downtown St Augustine - Loved the location & uniqueness of the property.
- Ritva (7/5): - Läget extra bra med närheten till Gamla stan. Huset är gammalt men mycket charmigt. Personalen väldigt tillmötesgående och trevliga.
- ALLISON (10/5): This house captures St Augustine beautifully! - Everything! We only stayed one night passing through back to OH from SWFL. Steps from downtown, amazing architecture and history everywhere. We will be back for certain and Sonny was awesome!
- Patricia (9/5): - Location and hospitality was amazing!
- Henry (8/5): - Staff was very friendly and helpful. The grounds were in need of attention. Exterior maintenance was definitely lacking, including exterior stairs.
- Sandra (7/5): -
- Lauren (10/5): - It was good a night Everything
- Geri (2/5): - Location Cracked walls, very dingy. Did not compare to the pictures on the website. I'm very disappointed. Pretty much a dump. See
- Mike (1/5): Was a real disappointment. - Really, nothing went well. 1) Could not secure this ground floor room. Top window of the double hung window in the bathroom could not be closed. The window could not be locked.
2) Could not lock the patio/verandah door.
3) Did not get room I booked. Booked and paid for a-- potentially more private and more secure room than ground floor – a balcony room. Got a ground floor room.
4) Charged $13 for parking. Was told that if I didn’t like that, I could park elsewhere in town! The “Extra” $3 was a processing fee – a 30% processing fee?
5) Peeling wall paper in the bathroom.
6) Black spots on bath room ceiling.
7) Bath room floor tile grout was nearly black in “walked on areas” – light gray in "unwalked" areas (such as behind the toilet).
8) Lock on bathroom door was a “hook and eye” latch.
9) Bathroom medicine cabinet made from MDF (medium-density fiberboard) – the bottom shelf was water damaged and disintegrating.
10) Table very worn.
11) Even at a greater than $300/night room rate, nothing in the mini-fridge. Not even a single bottle of complimentary water.
12) No coffee maker/machine in room.
13) No breakfast.
14) No glasses or disposable cups in room. Using cupped hands to retrieve water to rinse toothpaste.
15) Not a "quiet" area. On the Saturday night we stayed a very loud dance band was playing nearby and could be clearly heard inside our room. They didn't stop until around 10:15pm.
16) Unseasonably cold the day we were there in late March – overcast, in low 60’s for the high of the day, with a “feels like” temperature of 55. No extra blankets in a room, that has a window that cannot be fully close.
17) Web site says it’s “Adults Only” AND “Family Friendly” ??????
- Lofstrom (10/5): -
- Damaris (10/5): - I loved that it was within walking distance to everything.
It was like stepping back in time with the antique furniture. I love my room and slept comfortably.
- Alexander (10/5): -
- Lisa (8/5): It was nice and the charm was lovely. - The coffee and snacks were nice and the hosts were lovely. I particularly liked the balcony and sitting on the porch outside was really nice for my writing. I plan to stay again. I don't think the room had heat you could control and they keep the temperature at 68 so a bit chilly in March.
- Mark (9/5): -
- Joseph (9/5): Friendly and helpful and incredible location. Rooms were very nice! -
- Son (9/5): - Great place and close to everything! No breakfast though Would like a balcony or patio to relax late night
- Susan (3/5): Lovely hosts but room was shabby. Rugs were dirty, never vacuumed. - Cleanliness. Room temperature. It was freezing
Couldn’t control. We pointed out to host but not fixed
- Bert (10/5): - Sonny was an amazing & kind host. We loved the historic charm of the home. St. Augustine is so much fun. We will return. Thank You!
- Andy (7/5): -
- Sheila (9/5): - The location could not be better! It was incredibly clean and quiet.
- Michael (8/5): A very pleasant visit. The owners made every effort to make their guests welcome and comfortable. -
- kimberly (10/5): Rooms nice! Coffee and snacks great. Everyone very nice. - Location was great. Easy walk to old town and fort. parking 10 dollars day. Put this in the room rate.
- Richard (10/5): Charming and comfortable room close to historic district - Beautiful and historically significant home, renovated to provide ample and well appointed accommodations. Loved the front porch outside our large room on the first floor. The shower was hot, the air was properly conditioned by the energy efficient mini split, and the King bed was comfy.
Located a short walk from the historic district, we enjoyed dining at Harry’s (excellent redfish you all) and wandering around. Close enough but not so close as to be annoyed by tourists.
Our host, Sunny, is charming and chatty. We look forward to returning and will tell our friends and family to come by to stay.
- William (6/5): -
- Rebecca (10/5): We had a great stay and would stay there again - There was no breakfast. Everything was very nice
- Gary (9/5): -
- Joshua (10/5): It was probably one of the best outings that we've had in a long time and a well needed rest. - Location was convenient to walk in to the old city and close to many restaurants.
I was originally thinking of renting a golf cart but didnt need to due to how close it was to all of the downtown area. That I had to leave
- Fougerouse (10/5): - Très bien placé, personnel super sympathique, je recommande !!
- Hannick (7/5): The proprietors were sweet, the location was perfect, I only wish it wasn't so run down. - Location and owners. Room could have been cleaner. The water pressure of the shower was sad. The bed could have been made each day.
- Amelia (10/5): Charming and historic. - Extremely charming historic home with unique furnishings. Very nice proprietor gave directions for walking in town and recommendations for places to eat.
- Stefanie (9/5): -
- Marguerite (9/5): Great place can't wait to stay again - The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The neighborhood was beautiful, and the rooms were decorated beautifully. The private porch was wonderful. Very close to all the shops, but on a quiet street. Nothing
- marines (1/5): Don’t waste your money on this place - The best thing about this place is the location—it's right in the heart of the historic area, making it easy to walk everywhere. However, the place experience was unpleasant Horrible experience!!!
Unpleasant and rude service by the team and owners who live in the property.
- Bartlett (8/5): - location
- Reinaldo (9/5): -
- Bonnie (4/5): 2-3 star rating, pleasant innkeepers, house needs work - Convenient to historic downtown and shops. Very quiet during our stay. The house and surroundings are a bit dilapidated. While the room we stayed in was clean and fairly comfortable, the stairs leading up to the room in back were nailed with plywood and the sitting area could use some sprucing and new window coverings. Pillows were flat and rock hard. There is no breakfast only snacks in a tiny break room downstairs.
- Jose (10/5): -
- Monica Edith (7/5): -
- Christy (8/5): Overall, it was a good experience for a first stay in St Augustine. - Location was an easy walking distance to downtown and staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking can be challenging, the bed was tall and not easy to get on, and you could hear people above you moving around.
- Nicole (4/5): -
- Nicholas (3/5): -
- DAVID (8/5): - location was great close to the historic district there was nothing but stale cookies and snack size bags of chips
- Jennifer (10/5): It was conveniently located close to George St. and the downtown area. We had a great time. - Room was very comfortable and cozy. Bed was very comfortable!
- Richard (10/5): We would absolutely come back to Sevilla House.Sunny is an excellent host. - Just a short walk from all the sights and shops and restaurants.
- Bruce A (8/5): - Excellent manager
- Lilian (10/5): Beautiful balcony! - Beautiful room and house
- JoAnn (10/5): Excellent. - Location
- Abigail (9/5): -
- John (10/5): Like to see the sights of St Augustine stay here and explore the city. - Amazing property close to everything N/A
- Larson (10/5): Wonderful weekend stay at the Historic Sevilla House - First, the owners/managers married team (Sunny and Roma) are AMAZING! Always so welcoming with a big smile. This is the second year in a row where we have stayed at the Historic Sevilla House and we are already looking forward to staying with them next year! Quaint house with all the amenities you need. A MUST STAY!!!!! Can't come up with any negatives - !!!!!
- Kayleigh (10/5): -
- Antonio (10/5): Relax - Relax
- smith (10/5): - It was cozy and comfortable. Great place to stay!
- dubois (9/5): Great time close to downtown - Location was excellent. People were very friendly. Very accommodating No breakfast. An extra 10 for parking was a little ridiculous but not issue
- Brad (10/5): -
- Belinda (8/5): Charming house and neighborhood in perfect location! - Perfect location! My husband and I walked everywhere. We parked our car when we got there and never moved it until we left St. Augustine! Extremely friendly and kind people own/manage the Historic Sevilla House. The street was very quiet and peaceful! I understand this is a very old house, but that being said…there are some very needed updates and repairs. We had our own balcony, but we didn’t sit in it because the bench was so uncomfortable. It had a very old, dirty and flat cushion on it. There was no room in the bathroom to put a comb or hair straightener or anything…no counter space!
- Steve (8/5): Nice place ! A historic inn ( circa - 1888 ) - The location and the screened in porch area. The neighborhood was beautiful and the street was quiet. There were two sources of HVAC. We could control one ( the wall unit ) but not the other once ( main unit ) so the temp was too hot the first night. Also, there was no breakfast to speak of ( just coffee, cookies and chips ). The staff was great !!!
- Judy (9/5): -
- Julie Roche (6/5): -
- Glenn (10/5): -
- Sepulveda (10/5): - I love how cozy it was and our specific room had a private staircase to our room and the location was great
- chris (10/5): Great time was had - Location cleanliness and staff member Nothing
- Roberta (4/5): Fair place clean but it’s a one and done - Near downtown Lots of stairs
No view
Asked if we could extend stay by 1 hour and told no
- Kathy Mullin (6/5): House is a convenient location to all attractions and people were very friendly. - There wasn’t any breakfast. Though it wasn’t a surprise I thought this would be a B&B. It was not The house needed upgrades. There was no parlor -just bedrooms. The balcony needed fresh paint as well as more comfortable seats.
- Columbia (10/5): -
- Robert (10/5): -
- Gail (10/5): - The location, very quiet, but only 3 blocks from everything. Rooms immaculate, owners were wonderful. There was NOTHING I disliked
- Pamela (10/5): -
- Michelle (10/5): - Had to pay parking there :( Everything was great
- Chara (9/5): Lovely experience - Roma and Sunny, the managers are Fantastic!! They help with directions and anything needed for the area. There Inn is absolutely adorable, look forward to staying there again.
- Kristoffer (10/5): - Loved the area and hospitality.
- Perez (9/5): -
- Jorge (4/5): Good bed, decent room, but I wouldn't go back. - The bed was better than the Hilton I stayed at earlier this year. The check in process sucked, couldn't get ahold of the owners when I was trying to check in and the back stairs are rotted. House is old, siding is cracked asbestos.
- Paula (7/5): Not a B&B and not a friendly, helpful staff - It was close to downtown, room was large, was quiet They charge for parking on site (there is no street parking for non-residents) and double the cost if you arrive early (even though you can’t check in and there is plenty of parking spaces), the site manager was abrupt and not very nice. It’s not a B& B, but an “Inn”, so no breakfast. The morning coffee was terrible. Worn decor (transom windows were covered with cardboard/brown paper).
- kyle (9/5): Clean, friendly, good location -
- Pedro (8/5): - Location was perfect, Sunny was such a wonderful host For the price it should include some type of breakfast, muffins, danish etc, specially for the holidays
- Josie (2/5): Would definitely NOT use this Historic Sevilla House - The location was nice. Walking distance to the area we wanted to go. 1/5 – Unsafe and Unprofessional Experience
I would not recommend staying here, especially for women.
At check-in, the wife asked for my ID and credit card. While I understand verifying ID, she wrote down my ID number and then attempted to physically write down my full credit card number on paper, even though the reservation was already paid online. That immediately made me uncomfortable. When I questioned it, she became rude, cut me off repeatedly, and talked over me instead of explaining calmly. She told me to call Booking.com and cancel my reservation if I did not agree. She claimed she would tear up the card number after checkout, which did not feel secure or professional. I have never experienced a legitimate lodging establishment handling credit card information this way.
She then insisted on a $100 cash deposit as an alternative, which was never disclosed beforehand and felt like a last-minute demand. The entire interaction was disrespectful and unwelcoming.
Safety was also a major concern. This is a shared house where individual bedrooms are rented out and multiple guests have access to the main entrance. The bedroom door we stayed in was a sliding door with a very flimsy lock that could easily be forced open. As two women, we did not feel safe knowing that people could come and go at any time during the night.
The listing also advertised breakfast, but no breakfast was provided, only coffee. This was misleading.
Overall, the experience lacked professionalism, transparency, and basic safety. I would strongly recommend staying at a hotel or choosing a more reputable place instead.
- Peighton (10/5): Fantastic! - Fantastic owners, place and room was great and clean! 10/10 That we can’t stay longer!
- Riederich (7/5): - It was clean and nicely decorated. Our host were friendly The mattress and pillows were very uncomfortable. Did NOT get a good nights sleep
- lawrence (9/5): -
- Lisa (10/5): -
- Donald (10/5): -
- Sophia (10/5): Historic Sevilla House is a hidden gem when you want to stay overnight and do some sightseeing in St Augustine. - We were able to park our truck right in front of the house and there is additional parking spaces in the
back. The house and front yard were very nicely decorated for Christmas and very well maintained. It is about a 9 minute walk to River & Fort and Meehan’s Irish Pub & Restaurant and Night of Lights. We liked everything about our stay here. Sunny , the owner and our host was extremely friendly and very helpful. Coffee & tea , cookies and snacks were available in the dining room 24 hrs. We felt very safe here. I especially liked the large bath tub and outdoor screened in balcony. We will go back and stay again when visiting St Augustine!
- APRIL (5/5): St Augustine was a nice beautiful city - It was convenient to walk to St George St. The outside had some Christmas decorations The “balcony” was a roped off area of the front porch that had dry leaves and dirt. We got there at an hour early left bags in car and was told we had to pay Ten dollars for early parking and 10 for night The room had old nicked furniture No way to get ice or any snacks but did have coffee machine. The sheets had stretched elastic snd kept creeping up during the night. I was disappointed .
- Case (9/5): -
- paul (5/5): -
- Cothern (8/5): CHRISTMAS GETAWAY - The location was excellent, easy walking distance to the historic district. The room had a huge bed, small refrigerator with wine glasses, a balcony with a swing and a nice bathroom with a huge shower was a plus.
- Kay (10/5): - Beautiful old house
Sunny and Roma wonderful
I'll go back !!!
- Cherie (9/5): - Very friendly and accommodating. Beautiful old home, each room decorated in antique style.
Except bathroom was totally modern, newly remodeled.
On site parking. We had a private balcony with swing altho we didnt use it.
A bit off main area, but better because you dont hear all the noise. It wasnt a big issue, but there was no breakfast. There was coffee and tea available 24 hrs and cookies and various chips, but I expected maybe juice and some pastries if not breakfast, hence B&B?!
