• Delphine (6/5): Dommage - À notre arrivée nous n'avons eu aucune explication ce qui nous a valu d'être enfermé dehors à notre retour de balade. Le petit-déjeuner "complet gratuit" ne comprends en faite que un café ou un jus et vous avez un crédit de 700 donc des pancakes ou muesli ou omelette ou.... Chambre et salle de bains propre et spacieuse. Produit du petit déjeuner très bon

• Anita (10/5): Nice place - It was amazing, my room was pretty big, shared bath room, but it was very clean. Great location, close to the beach. For the plateau you have to walk around 20 - 30mins. The street is very loud, but during the night there's not a lot of traffic. It was a very pleasant stay.

• Jean Philippe (8/5): proche plage et restaurants, mais un peu bruyant - Un peu excentré dans une rue bruyante , mais à proximité de la plage de Quebra Canela et ses restaurants. Le manque d'eau chaude 3 jours sur 4 est à regretter.
• karina (8/5): - Très positif : l'auberge de Syd's est située à 10 min à pied de la jolie plage de Kebra Canela, les petits déjeuners servis sont délicieux, leurs tacos aussi (le soir), l'endroit est calme, le débit internet est très bon en wifi, la chambre 3 est spacieuse, le personnel est gentil, Sydney est réactif pour répondre aux questions par mail, en anglais. Un peu moins bien : le tout petit filet d'eau sous la douche selon les heures de la journée, le bruits des conversations le soir (la chambre 3 donne sur la terrasse extérieure du restaurant)
• Stephen (6/5): - We booked and paid for a 3-night stay 10 weeks in advance. Syd's confirmed our arrival time by email well in advance and kindly arranged airport pickup for us, etc. But 3 days before we arrived Syd sent an email saying they'd overbooked and we could only stay for 2 nights. She said we'd be accommodated in the suite for 2 nights (we weren't - we were put in the double room) and then we'd be refunded the cost of the 3rd night. We were already in Cape Verde by this point (Boa Vista), so we were scrambling trying to decide what to do, or where else to stay for the final night. hotels.com customer service tried to help, but were unable to get hold of anyone at Syd's that spoke English to confirm anything. In the end we just rebooked another hostel ourselves and waited for a refund from Syd's. When we did arrive at Syd's for check-in, Victor was kind and helpful (Sydney was out of town and we never met her the whole time we were there). We did get a cash refund for the 3rd night.......but it was massively inconvenient - and frustrating that we'd booked 10 weeks before but were only told we were being bumped off 3 days ahead. The guest house itself is nice, fairly clean, nice breakfast. Our first morning (Sunday) was brunch - the server didn't understand any English and kept calling Victor from the kitchen to come and help. They also wanted to charge us until we told them breakfast was included in our booking. Lots of people come for brunch so it was noisy all morning.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Meilleur petit-dejeuner du monde - La maison est bien placée, à deux pas des plages et des quartiers sympas du centre-ville. On peut profiter des extérieurs en tout tranquillité. Louisa prépare des petits dejeuners differents tous les jours mais à chaque fois vraiment delicieux. C'est dommage que la guesthouse ne fasse plus restaurant et que les clims dans les chambres ne fonctionnent pas.
• Maria (10/5): - the apartment is located 10min away walk from the beach and in a perfect area - not too far from the main street and not too close to be disturbed by the traffic. The small garden in front of the apartment entry makes it even more convenient to just sit outside in the evening and enjoy a drink. Syd's also offer the option of breakfast and dinner to their restaurant/terrace which you walk through to get to the apartment. The food is tasty and price wise is also ok. I wish we would have had a schedule of when the restaurant is open as it seems it's not open every day. The apartment is clean and the fridge was filled with local beer and water.

• Ayrault (10/5): Excellent endroit. - Nous avons passé 10 jours chez Syd. Nous ne l'avons pas rencontrée, mais toute son équipe sur place était charmante. Mention spéciale pour Éloïse qui nous a concocté chaque jour de copieux et savoureux petits déjeuners et Victor, le roi des soirées nachos. Un vrai top chef. Nous avons résidé dans l'appartement appréciable par son espace intérieur et la cour ombragée. Juste pour les sensibles des bruits nocturnes, prévoir des bouchons d'oreilles car le chien voisin peut avoir des aboiements nocturnes. L'environnement peut paraître un peu hostile à première vue, mais ne vous arrêtez pas à ça, c'est un peu la particularité de Santiago les constructions inachevées ou inhabitées, mais le lieu est très secure. Emplacement à 5 min de la petite plage familiale où passe le bus 8 en direction du plateau . Un bel endroit pour s'imprégner de l'atmosphère av un bar snack de plage très bon également. Séjour très plaisant et dépaysant.

• Elke (8/5): - Mooie grote fijne kamer met gedeelde badkamer. En vooral iedere dag een hemels ontbijt! Lokatie is top, op loopafstand van het strand en ook op korte taxi afstand van plateau. Sydney en Angela zijn super aardig! Ik raad het absoluut aan! Heb inmiddels al meerdere vrienden gewezen op deze parel :)
• GILLES (10/5): Beaucoup de charme et de calme. - Cet établissement a beaucoup de charme, bien décoré, avec goût, chambre et patio Sydney et son équipe sont particulièrement agréables. Calme et dans un quartier sûr près d'une jolie plage. Salle de bain commune, propre. Petit déjeuner très bon. A recommander !

• alan (6/5): - The property is a small guesthouse with 3 rooms in a good area and close to the beach and some of the luxury hotels and is well priced. What was disappointing was the lack of engagement /interaction of staff. On arrival we were given a set of keys and essentially that was it . The owner is Sydney who I think appeared at brunch the following day but as she did not introduce herself to us not check how we were during our stay we weren't entirely sure. We were the only guests. In the evenings there is no one at the property and this was a little concerning particularly as there are multiple keys for access and barbed wire around the perimeters. On a positive note there is a lovely brunch served on weekends and taco nights that locals attend. The courtyard is lovely for relaxing.

Tout le personnel est au petits soins pour que le séjour se passe bien !

• Verified traveler (10/5): - Nette en schone kamer, lieve en goed Engels sprekende gastvrouw die je goed kan helpen met je weg vinden op het eiland, locatie op loopafstand van veel restaurants en het strand, de beste koffie die ik ooit heb geproefd (en dat zegt wat) en elke dag een heerlijk vers ontbijt.
