Breakfast good, a choice of cooked or cold buffet plus selection from menu. Staff were excellent, they were friendly and helpful. Room had great sea views and clean. Parking was good. We would stay again. Room was on the small size and a little tired.

Brilliant sense of humour too! Abundance of food available. Beautiful views from the rooms, bar and restaurant. Warm bedroom. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Shower took a LONG time to warm up (c. 2 mins) but not really an issue as we weren’t in a hurry! The radiator clonked throughout the first night as it heated up/ cooled down (room 205), so we turned it off the second night and had a peaceful sleep.

Harriet (7/5): - The view was lovely! Couldn't be better! The staff were so attentive and friendly also where nothing was too much for them! The bed was and pillows were honestly so bad, I don't know if if maybe I was just unluckily as underneath me was a plywood sheet but the mattress was lumpy to the point of sticking out and the pillow was rock solid. When it came to sleeping, I was dreading it and ended up placing two of the bath towels plus two of our blankets from home on the bed to try and sleep. We also got changed a lot for a meal. (I only had one meal and was charged £37.40) and then my partner had a starter and meal (£37.50) with a surcharge of £14 so over all the meal was well over £100 for our meals which were pretty substandard. Then we had the dog charge of £15 per day on top of our room charge- which I can understand for cleaning etc but we didn't even have our bin emptied or spoons in the room etc to make coffee left out. The sides were not even wiped down as there was water still on the side coming in from outside. Sheets were also not cleaned, so why the £30 charge? The headboard was really grubby to the point that we didn't want to put out heads against it (two clear brown patches on the headboard). This was actually the first thing we noticed when entering the room so its really obvious. To be totally honest the amount extra we were charged I was a bit disappointed as everything that's come back has had to go on a hot wash.

Virginia (10/5): - . The Cottage team - exceptional. . The very authentic atmosphere - a hotel full of character where you can truly relax. Yes, it's 'old fashioned ' in parts, but that is not a negative in this world of homogeneous & formulaic establishments. . Two nights felt like twenty, again in a positive way. We were thoroughly recharged on leaving and would have happily stayed longer if it had been possible. Pillows a bit hard Bread at dinner not brilliant

There was plenty to choose from for breakfast, hot and cold, with the waiting staff being very attentive. We would definitely stop here again. There was nothing not to like, some of the decor was slightly dated but it was clean and comfortable.

The sunset terrace was amazing and the views are lovely. The hotel is a little worn and the evening meal is dated, however we were expecting that. And it certainly did not detract from the lovely time we had with you.

Staff were unfailingly courteous and communicative. Room size rather inadequate, compromised by a bed that filled most of the available space. Fabric of the building rather tired and in need of refurbishment.

There was a homely feel to the hotel and the hotel manager and the owners themselves were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. The food in the restaurant for both breakfast and evening meals was exemplary and this was accompanied by excellent waiting staff who again always went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. There wasn't anything not to like about this hotel.

christopher (6/5): Everything was lovely apart from the trip hazard of the shower room stepm step in a dark corner. ner - Breakfast was good. Location was very nice. The shower riom in romm 206 was tiny and not straightforward in that the door barely opened. The shower itself was tiny ...good job neither my husband or myself are large! But more importantly the shower room was up a step in a dark corner so we had to leave the curtain at the front partially open all night otherwise we might easily have tripped going to the loo in the dark!
