Guest Reviews
- Palmer (8/5): -
- Toni (10/5): - I loved the body wash, shampoo, and conditioner! I loved the dog that greeted us and loved on us. We loved the roof. Comfortable. Sheep. Spectacular views, sunset. It was fun being in history. N/a
- Riccardo (10/5): - Posto incredibile. Unico nel suo genere Se ci fosse un supporto per programmare le varie attività non sarebbe male.
- Katrina (1/5): Go elsewhere or make sure you have travel insurance - I’m sure it’s a beautiful location if I had gotten to go. Sadly hurricane winds took everything down and I was ghosted by the property when I reached out. A storm with hurricane winds hit the coast of Scotland and the ferry terminals were shut down due to lack of power, there was no power or phone reception, we rebooked our ferry twice and both times it was canceled. I reached out to the property to total silence as they too had no phone or power till later in the evening the day we would have checked in. Short of swimming there was no way to get there. I did get in touch with someone who said they would ask the owners about a refund but they never responded again. I understand under most circumstances no refunds makes sense and it’s a business, but something like this where I literally tried everything I could and was very communicative by both message and phone seemed unfair.
What they should just tell you when booking is you are required to have travel insurance because they won’t refund you even under extraordinary circumstances. Disappointed to have spent nearly 500 pounds to be ghosted. Maybe book somewhere else if you are staying on Mull that won’t penalize you for nature ruining your vacation.
- Elvera (8/5): Amazing stay in a stunning location - Really amazing location. Access to the tower was brilliant.
- Richard (9/5): Fantastic accommodation in a wonderful setting. - Fantastic place, amazing views, very spacious rooms. N/A
- mazen (10/5): Très belle expérience - Confort absolu , calme , accessible et a proximité de Tobermory . la gentillesse des propriétaires équipements complet pour un self catering
- Thomas (10/5): - Stunning location – we had such a lovely stay in the tower. Next time, we'll book for a bit longer!
- Jennifer (10/5): Wonderful, characterful castle situated on a remote headland with incredible wildlife all around . - Incredible location, wonderful decor and interesting building . Was expensive for one night
- Stacy (9/5): Excellent property and really friendly family/staff!! - Such a beautiful landscape and the extensive grounds are well kept! It would be nice to have some fans for airflow as the curtains are great for keeping out light and well insulated but as with all other places, the only option for cooling is to have the windows open so they block the airflow.
- Steven (9/5): Superb -
- Mat (10/5): Simply awesome - Breathtakingly beautiful on arrival with stunning views and 5,000 acres of incredible views in all directions. Inside was an adventure with lots to explore - large bedrooms, 3 living/sitting rooms (one accessed via steps up a castle turret!), huge bathroom with good shower and free-standing bath positioned for awesome views out over the fields towards the sea (admittedly not used because we’ve been having too much fun during daylong hours) well equipped kitchen and, a bit blowy at this time of year but access to the rooftop as well (further up the turret!!). Inside the castle it’s full of character and charm including dreamy log fires in the main living room every night. Outside are fantastic walks through beautiful wild surroundings, peppered with wildlife including highland cows! Our stay will live long in the memory and we won’t hesitate to return if we come back to Mull in the future. A big thank you to the lovely owners, particularly rescuing us on the first night with an extra pack of firelighters when I botched my first attempt to get the log fire going! :) Nothing we didn’t like but more an FYI… being an old building it’s naturally a bit draughty so can be a touch cold at this time of year (Feb). The radiators have been on full blast though, the duvets are toasty warm and the fire is on hand for an extra boost! Frankly, it’s all part of the magic of the place :)
- Amy (10/5): Countryside perfection. - Everything…. Truly. I went around and walked through the most stunning parts of nature and found the standing stones. Fire was prepped for when I returned. We honestly just stayed close and luxuriated in this amazing castle. Nothing to complain about.
- Robert (7/5): Good - Beautiful spot. Comfortable bed in master suite. Fantastic views. Pump woke us up at night. Had to connect wifi ourselves. Could have been cleaner. Decorations, furniture outdated .... not in style you'd expect for a castle.
- Christine (10/5): Wonderful apartment, set in a castle, away from the hussel and bustle of the tourist routes - A beautifully decorated two bedroom apartment, set over 3 floors, with all the facilities you need to enjoy your holiday. The roof top terrace( of the tower) was an excellent addition for 360 views of the surrounding countryside. My only wish was to have more time at the castle to enjoy the immediate area and to relax. The coffee shop was a small walk away, opting to have breakfast and afternoon teas there. Checkout the coffee shop toilets as they are decorated in the same wallpapers as the apartment.
Definitely going to come back and spend more than a week in just Glengorm castle. Plenty to do in the immediate area. We even swam in the sea in Sept!
- Julianne (10/5): Magnificent - Spacious, quiet. Only 1 bathroom
- Victoria (10/5): Stunning location - Stunning location, stunning rooms. Excellent facilities. Nothing
- Christy (10/5): Exceptional - This location was phenomenal. We enjoyed the seclusion, the view and the ability to relax and enjoy the castle.
- Josie (10/5): Perfect trip - This place far exceeded our expectations. It was the best part of our England/Scotland trip. I wish we had booked for a longer time. It was beautiful. We didn’t run into many people but the family member that met us was wonderful and welcoming, the dogs were an added bonus for my child. The staff at the coffee shop were helpful and kind. The landscape and trails were incredible. I can’t say enough good about this place. I hope I get to visit again. There was not a thing to not like
- Leanne (10/5): Beautiful and relaxing - Amazing location, amazing building
- Guillaume (10/5): Exceptional - Huge cosy apartment, incredible views from the Tower, this has to be the best place to stay in the isle of Mull
- Sherri (10/5): Magical castle stay in an amazing setting! - Hosts were very accommodating of our late arrival time. We were greeted with a spacious tower room apartment with stunning views of the ocean from their cliffside property. The kitchen has been updated in the apartment and generously stocked with tea, coffee (Nescafe), and shortbreads. The local coffee shop on the property is run by the hosts and had a great menu. We were too late to sample the full menu, but the sweets were delicious. We were made to feel at home without the hosts being intrusive at all. Felt like our own little hideaway in a historic castle. Wish we had had more time and better weather to explore the property trails more. They have hundreds of head of sheep (and lambs) and Highland cows on the property, too. Our hosts shared a favorite local whisky sample with us as well and made us fans of Tobermory whisky. The shower in the bath did not drain well. Suspect this may be due to the age of the house/plumbing. Other than that, no complaints.
- Pauline (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful castle stay on a huge estate close to the beach. We were transported back in time while we stayed in the tower apartment of the castle with access to the rooftop overlooking the fields of baby lambs and the ocean. Beds were super comfortable and the view from the bathtub just makes you want to linger longer.
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Leah (10/5): We were looking to stay in a castle on our trip to Scotland and Glengorm Castle absolutely delivered! A beautiful apartm - Gorgeous setting! Very clean and beautiful! Signs made it easy to find!
- Kevin (8/5): WONDERFULL EXPERIENCE WOULD VISIT AGAIN ,LOVELY HOSTS FANTASTIC LOCATION - ALL ROOMS AND VEIWS AND FIRE IN LIVING ROOM WERE LOVERLY, DIGITAL TV IF REQUIRED ETC
LOVELY DECOR ROOMS AND BED LINEN AND LIVING ROOMS REALLY NICE ,TOILETRIES AND DRINKING FACILITIES STOCKED WELL.THE TOWER ROOM AND VEIWS FROM THE ROOF TOP ARE WONDERFUL .
THE HOSTS WERE VERY ACCOMMODATING THANKS FOR THE WHISKEY .WE ALL HOPE TO RETURN NEXT YEAR . SOME OF THE TAPS WERE MARKED UP WRONGLY IE HOT WAS COLD ETC, BUT WE WORKED IT OUT.
CONSTRUCTIVE FEEDBACK .
OUR ONLY DISSAPOINTMENT WAS WE WERE UNABLE TO USE THE ORIGINAL ROLL TOP BATH TO LOOK OUT TO SEA.
THIS WAS DUE TO THE AGE OF THE BATH WHICH SHOWS SIGNS OF THE ENAMEL GONE SHOWING RUST? AT THE BOTTOM WERE YOU TO LAY DOWN IN THE BATH.
WE DID NOT USE THE BATH FOR FEAR OF INFECTION?
WE RECOMMEND TO KEEP ORIGINAL FITTINGS ETC TO GET CLEANED UP AND CHEAPEST OPTION TO GET THE BATH RE ENAMELLED.
THIS WOULD MAKE OUR VISIT A 10 OUT OF 10 EXPERIENCE.
- Amelia (10/5): Amazing stay, wished we had known how beautiful it was going to be as we would have stayed for longer! Stunning views of - Beautiful place to stay, stunning inside and out.
- U-j (10/5): A magical place to stay - Stunning place to stay. We stayed in The Tower rooms and they were superb. Excellent views and a magical place to stay
- Julia (10/5): Beautiful location, everything top spec. - It had a feel good vibe throughout. The heating was on as the weather was cool and damp. Maybe more than one WC but that’s just knit picking.
- Mimi (9/5): Superb - Location More staff presence
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional - The Tower Room apartments are spacious and comfortable. The castle grounds are one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited, and watching sunset over the water was bliss - especially from the rooftop! The only noise was from the resident cattle and sheep. I only wish we could've stayed longer!
- Rollin (10/5): Exceptional - The rooms are fantastic. The vibes are great. The property is vast and traversable for unique experiences. This is a magical location. Nothing, everything was amazing. I didn't stay here long enough.
- Pauline (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was fabulous. Incredibly beautiful and historic location. The apartment was stunning but also very comfortable. Most amazing views from all windows! Nothing not to like. Lots of stairs.
- Elizabeth (10/5): A rare and marvelous stay. Many thanks to the owners for sharing their corner of the world!! - My husband and I stayed at Glengorm Castle with dear friends. We couldn't have been more delighted by the experience. We were warmly greeted by Tom upon our arrival, and were thrilled with our apartment, the extraordinarily beautiful property, and setting. This was a highlight of a fabulous trip to Scotland. We hope to return and give it our highest recommendation.
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (10/5): Beautiful, clean, and comfortable, did I mention Beautiful ? A must add to any schedule. - Where to start, a 9 day trip, Glengorm was the best! Welcoming staff, breathtaking views, most beautiful castle in Scotland. only stayed one night , of several booked in other castles, my mistake, should have stayed longer! Had the tower suites, truly unbelievable , enough room for a village, exceeded all expectations, Grounds and Castle were post card perfect, clean, secure, and simply Beautiful. Would Highly Recommend to anyone with plans to visit Isle of Mull. Only complaint, Poor planning on my part for only scheduling one night,

- Pa (9/5): Superb Location on Mull - Excellent Stay for 2 nights. Lovely large room with huge bed!
Breakfast outstanding with brilliant Staff.
Location was stunning especially the sunsets!!
Easy reach to Tobermory for excellent Dinners and touring Mull. Bathroom not "ensuite" as expected but maybe was in explained in the small print. Had to leave room, short passageway, up 4 steps to nice bathroom. It was Private but felt 'exposed' when in the passageway!
- Fidelia (10/5): great stay! - everything there are 2 roads to get there and google maps show us a bad road (soil)
- Anne (10/5): heaven on earth - the most beautiful place I ever been. The castle is a next level experience. This was my second time at Glengorm and I will be back for sure. can’t recommend it enough.
- John (9/5): Comfortable B&B accommodation in stunning location with outstanding cooked breakfast! - Breakfast and whiskey lounge were exceptional!

- Stuart (10/5): A rare opportunity to stay in a real castle in superb island location. - Breakfast was sumptuous in a beautiful dining room with superb views over the hills to the sea. Our room was exceptionally well appointed and spacious. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. Our stay was perfect
- Elizabeth (10/5): The most beautiful, idyllic place we've ever stayed at! - Everything about this place was utterly magical! The breakfast was incredible, the rooms and the views were to die for. It really was the 'WOW' place on our honeymoon trip to Scotland! We'll be back! Nothing we didn't like!
- Alistair (10/5): Relaxing, quiet, friendly and hospitable - Peaceful location, friendly staff and excellent breakfast Nil
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Griffiths (8/5): Great get-away - We had very comfortable rooms with luxury bedding. The bathroom was clean and had very nice amenities. It is a bit of a drive to the nearest town, but it was great to be able to walk around on the grounds and explore the area that way. We had a lovely breakfast and the Whiskey Marmalade was to-die-for. We also were treated to sample whiskey in the library after dinner. I was a bit surprised that there was no locks for the doors, but we didn't have a problem with anything going missing.
- Victoria (9/5): perfect location and facilities, only let down was the breakfast - The rooms were amazing. The castle was so beautiful and the grounds were great for walking and exploring. the games room with the pool table and the library with the whisky!
- Suzanne (8/5): Fabulous, traditional. Scotland at it’s best. - Loved the location, stunning. wonderful. No locks on the doors.
- Neil (9/5): Amazing building in an amazing location! -
- Liliane (10/5): Exceptional - The service ist extraordanary. could not have been better
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marie (7/5): Good stay, but not in a hurry to go back - Rooms were spacious, including the bathroom - really good. The main sitting room needs some redecorating - the furniture, wallpaper etc are not in keeping with the property - more like reject furniture for someone’s holiday home. Likewise the furnishings/wall paper in bedroom were incongruous.
- Ian (10/5): Experience living in a castle and grounds for a few days! - As we were returning after our stay in 2021, this in itself speaks volumes about the experience of staying in Glengorm castle! The view from our room was stunning across the coast, and the fact that only 5 rooms are available to book and you have access to both a lounge and whisky library downstairs gives you a feeling that you are almost one of the family staying for a few days. The breakfast is wonderful with lots of choice, and the grounds are expansive to the extent that you could spend your whole time here getting lost, rather than discovering the rest of the island of Mull. A wonderful experience that we will remember forever, thankyou! Nothing
- Maria (10/5): A fairytale stay! - It was a one off stay for us prior to staying on Mull for a week.
Everything about Glengorm is magical, the room, the castle itself ...just Everything!!
