- Barbara (8/5): One of our favourite places to stay in Northumberland. - Food at the Collingwood Arms is delicious. Rooms are comfortable and garden is lovely to spend time in.
- Michael (9/5): comfortable stay, excellent food and service. - excellent food at dinner and breakfast, excellent staff. room spotlessly clean, but carpet marked (which detracted from overall effect)
- Daniel (10/5): Absolutely superb stay would 10000% stay again - I liked the old timey look about the place to dinning room to the exterior and the rooms were perfect very big It was all perfect
- McKinley (9/5): Friendly and convivial place to stay. - Superb food.friendly waitress. Cant think of anything. Its a nice pace I willreturn.
- John & Janie (10/5): Very pleasant stay. Very good breakfasts and evening meals - Lovely building with delightful garden. Good location for touring northern Northumberland and the Scottish Borders It was fine

- Natalie (9/5): - Have stayed here before and will keep coming back as it is such a lovely homely country pub and comfortable, beautiful rooms. Food in the restaurant is wonderful, and breakfast is 10/10 as well. Staff are friendly, helpful and accommodating.

- Raymond (10/5): Charming and friendly hotel - From the start, staff were exceptional. We were made to feel welcome by Alex, who showed us to our room and later took our dinner order. He was very helpful with my gluten-free requirements. Our stay was unusual in that during our second day, a storm hit a pylon, the whole village had a power cut and there was no electricity. The whole team, especially owners David and Suzanne, pulled out all the stops to help the guests, from putting on a lovely warm log fire in the library, to providing safe candles for the hall and rooms, to ensuring we were fed. In fact, David personally made me a cheeseboard on the house! The village power came back on around midnight, and the following morning everything was back to normal, with breakfast in the large bright dining room as if nothing had happened. Poor David was looking quite tired when we checked out, having had little sleep, but he still chatted to us, and even suggested a scenic drive. I've never had such good service in any hotel. I'd like to thank David, Suzanne and their team. Not applicable.

- Brian (9/5): Great New Years break , lots to see in the Area . - Excellent, beautifully cooked and great choices for breakfast and meals . Owners/ staff couldn't be more helpful . The building was well kept and decorated. Our Room ( Defence ) was large , with a large bathroom overlooking the garden . Our room was very modern decorated , dark colours particularly in the bathroom and subtle lighting unfortunately ( according to my partner) preventing easy makeup or hair styling . Only mirror in the bedroom was on the back of the wardrobe in another subtle lit (dim) area .

- DAVID (8/5): Enjoyable. Would stay again if price was better. - Friendly staff. Good service. Lovely breakfast. Good quality . Room a little dated. Tea /coffee tray located on bedside cabinet. Room could have had a better clean. Slightly overpriced.
- Jack (10/5): -

- Neil (10/5): Perfect- ideal for fishing or other sports trip or a good base to explore the Borders from - Traditional borders property -clean and friendly - nice twist with room names Nothing
- Andrew (9/5): -
- Kerstin (10/5): -
- Adrian (9/5): Quiet stop over near Berwick and border. - Comfortable room and features. Good food evening and breakfast and adequate parking. Only fizzy water in room, and no fridge in room.
- Emily (9/5): - Lovely hotel and the breakfast and dinners are lovely as if you’re eating in an upmarket restaurant.
You can easily walk into Coldstream from the hotel and there is a bus stop just opposite the hotel should you need to use the bus. Can’t fault it, it had everything I needed for my stay
- Welsh (8/5): - Very friendly. Enjoyed my stay very much and would go back.
- Eleanor (10/5): It was a nice stay, friendly staff and great building. - It was really nicely decorated, the gardens were lovely aswell and I liked that each room had its own name When we arrived there wasn’t much parking available so we had to wait until people who were having dinner left to park
- Jan (8/5): I will be back! - Nice warm atmosphere. Staff were exceptionally good, in particular Andre, who was very helpful and accommodating. Nothing.
- Sacha (10/5): -
- Hugh (8/5): - Situation
- Petra (10/5): Lohnt sich - Sehr gute Lage, großes Zimmer, tolles Frühstück und Abendessen. Wir kommen wieder Nichts
- Gwen (9/5): Not only is this a place that we would choose again but it is also a place that we actively want to visit again. - Beautiful old building tastefully decorated. Some great food. Very friendly, helpful staff. Excellent location for exploring the border country.
- Julie (10/5): Perfect - Beautiful village location superb hotel welcoming and friendly. Food excellent both evening menu and breakfast staff professional and helpful Nothing
- Neil (9/5): excellent - Much smarter than previous stays - food excellent
Steve and Alex were great hosts cannot think of anything - maybe granola as a breakfast option
- Birch (8/5): -
- Robert (9/5): Beautiful hotel - Room was very comfortable. Food very good. Lovely back garden. Location very good for visiting local area. Service was excellent. Typhoo teabags in the bedrooms didn't really fit with quality elsewhere. The kettle was a health and safety issue as the lead was far too short and scarcely reached the plug.
- Matthew (10/5): -
- Hall (4/5): disappointing - The food was lovely, dinner was delicious. The room was nice and the bathroom clean and smart. nice quality shower and shampoo. nice building. The room was noisy, directly above the restaurant and beside the beer garden. There were no blinds at the windows, so If I crossed the room I could be seen from the garden, I suggest you obscure the lower glass, add blinds or shutters. The weather was hot and there were no fans available, I did not sleep well due to the heat and the noise. The person that checked me in kept calling me 'Mrs'- despite the fact I wasn't wearing a wedding ring and I hadn't referred to myself as 'Mrs'. If they weren't saying 'Mrs' it was 'Madam', if you're going to refer to a person by their marital status check they're happy with that.
- Jon (7/5): Wonderful food, room a bit shaky - Super food Curtain falling down, loose bathroom fittings
- Catherine (9/5): Excellent hotel with fantastic food and friendly staff! - The staff are extremely friendly and so helpful and polite! We both felt extremely well looked after!
- Gerard (10/5): Good stay - The staff Poor quality televisions in room.
- Brian (9/5): -
- Emma (10/5): An exceptional hotel for the price, it is a charming building with lovely garden and friendly staff. - The breakfast was very good and got everyone off to a great start, and we enjoyed delicious unhurried dinners.
We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed sitting having drinks in the garden before dinner.
Our bedroom was very comfortable. I would have liked an EV charger.
- Chris (10/5): -
- David (9/5): Lovely comfortable good value but very stylish hotel. - Manager who greeted us was excellent.
- Birgit (8/5): -
- colin (10/5): Very enjoyable - Friendly staff, comfortable and clean. Nothing
- Denis (8/5): Excellent - Food and staff were excellent
- Philip (10/5): Memorable and we will be back on 2026 onwards… - The authentic nature of this Coach has been preserved, coupled with that with a first rate management team and staff plus excellent food, it surely is the best hotel around! The fact we had to leave!
- Denis (8/5): -
- Marilyn (8/5): -
- paul (7/5): -
- Debbie (7/5): Borders trip - Location, very peaceful and great base fir exploring the Borders and Northumberland
Breakfast and evening meals were excellent
Lively bar area
Friendly staff
Plenty of parking In need of a general refurbishment, especially the bedrooms
Stayed in a deluxe twin, but nothing deluxe about it, bathroom was fine, but bedroom carpet was awful and room in need of repaint and some updated furnishings and one of the windows didn't fit properly so large gap at the top
Lighting not good in bathroom and room
But large spacious room and very comfy beds

- John (10/5): Highly recommendable. - Although the rooms were a little tired they were clean. The evening meal was very good as was the breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful The weather could have been better
- Lesley (8/5): We had a lovely stay. - The building and the friendliness of the staff. Found it hard to sleep as there were Velux windows with no means of covering them at night.
- Helen (8/5): - Staff could not be any more helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Entrance and bar lovely and welcoming. Gardens well looked after. Bedroom was very lacking for the price paid and in keeping with rest of building - stayed in Thunderer Room - state of armchair it should have been replaced (obviously had previous pet damage). Wallpaper highlighted stains on wall more (appreciate old building but needs attention). Location of drink making facilities vs sockets not compatible ! Bedroom just lacked warmth and cosiness which entrance and bar gave and took away from the rest of hotel and overall feel.
- Katherine (10/5): A lovely, country hotel on the Scottish border by the meandering Tweed River. - The village is tiny, but we were able to walk over to Coldstream in Scotland for a visit to a pub. It was a bank holiday weekend, so many shops, museums, etc. were closed. Nevertheless, the Collingwood Arms is a lovely place to relax and enjoy excellent service and fine cuisine.
- jeremy (9/5): -
- Michael (9/5): - Good food, good vibes, excellent staff As a hotel with lots of anglers staying a drying room would be a useful addition
