956ajk (4/5): It's the little things - I did not stay at the hotel. So this review will be about what the hotel didn't do instead of what they did.do. My daughter and her husband were staying at the hotel for their 5th wedding anniversary. They were married on May 1, 2021 and stayed at the hotel on their wedding night. So because this was going to be a big deal for them my wife and I decided to surprise them by covering all charges related to their stay. I called the hotel and informed them that I would be covering all charges. When I gave them my credit card information I also requested that my daughter and her husband, upon arrival, be greeted in the following way: "Happy anniversary from Davis". The lady I talked to ensured me that this would happen. Unfortunately this never happened. So I am very dissappointed that what could have been a great surprise for our daughter and her husband was ruined because someone did not follow through on my request. I know that to some this may seem like a little thing but it's the little things that separate a good hotel from an exceptional one. (As a side note to this review our daughter did report to us that upon arrival they were treated rudely and their stay at the hotel did not go well. )
Y854FObrianf (10/5): Cool vibes, great service, you pay for it, though! - Great location, atmospher, rooms were very clean and classy. We were right across the hall from the elevator, on a weekend. So it was a tad noisy. Services was great. Prices are high. $55 for only breakfast burritos for breakfast. Room price is high. Other than that, great! It was a special occasion. May only do a stay once every other year.
R8120NMrhondas (10/5): Cool place in The Crossroads - I very much enjoyed my stay and especially the ability to support a boutique hotel. Highly recommend planning to utilize the valet parking, especially with all the current road construction. The outside of the hotel is fairly non descript, and blends into the surrounding Crossroads area very well, complimenting, rather than competing with the architecture. Inside is moody and has a very interesting vibe combining industrial style with the warmth of the Midwest. The art exhibit instillations were being changed out when I was there, but is definitely something I would have checked out. Loved my room, which also encompassed the warm industrial vibe. The ONLY thing I would change is better lighting in the bathroom for makeup application. Bar service was attentive and friendly with great cocktails. Overall a great experience and would for sure stay again.
525ericam (10/5): 5 star in every category - Fabulous stay at Crossroads Hotel. Great location - especially for First Friday where we were in the heart of the vibrant street activity. And the lobby bar/restaurant was hopping every night - and the food and drinks were great. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and well appointed. I love the design/layout of the hotel - a lot of thought went into the design of the entire hotel. The rooftop restaurant/bar/lounge has an upbeat vibe and fabulous views. The front desk staff are enthusiastic and welcoming and ready to help in any way they can. Nothing but 5 stars all the way!

The shower was the best hotel shower I have had. The staff was 100% friendly and helpful. The food / bar area and great to hang out it and the food and drinks were top notch. If you have to stay in KC, stay here.

Courtney (1/5): Shady business. - hotel room was pretty and the location was great 1) Booking.com quoted me at $571 plus fees for my stay. The hotel said they were giving me a complimentary upgraded room for my stay. I said thank you so much. I was then charged $875 dollars. I called the hotel and the front desk stated that the quote from booking.com was wrong and that my fee was correct. In addition, they charged me for a bottle of Chardanay from the hotel fridge that I NEVER took!!!!! I went on to say I wanted to be reimbursed for the wine and the extra room rate. They transferred me to the manager and I never received a response from him. I will be disputing the credit card charge now. 3) After calling daily for two months and emailing frequently. I was finally able to contact the XR lounge three days before my event to place a reservation. I asked repeatedly and confirmed that we had the bar tops and they said yes. Day of the bar did not adequately save my reservation and had us move to an area that was not conducive to our needs. While one round of drinks were comped, I had to speak to three different servers before finally having a manager come to our table.
Marlene (9/5): - Beautiful hotel. The breakfast was delicious. Roof top bar was having a soft opening. We were told we had to stand in a specific area because we hadn't made a reservation to sit. 45 minutes later, with 90% of tables still open we complained to a manager. We were allowed to sit at a table until the reservations began to come in. Also the printed menu had lower prices than the computer rang up. There is automatically a 2.5% charge on your bill for credit card charge even if you're paying cash. We charged breakfast and dinner at Lazia to our room. The bill at restaurants included the 2.5% charge on bill we charged to our room, and it appears the total bill also included a 2.5% charge on total bill.

mariemN5232PJ (6/5): I splurged so you don’t have to - This hotel was in no way worth the cost. Was it cool looking? Sure. Was the service good? Yes; I must give the staff props. But this hotel offers none of the niceties one might expect at this price point. To put this in perspective, I paid the same amount at a Four Seasons in Denver during the same weekend (Valentine’s Day) last year. The beauty products were not special, there was no robe in the room, and there wasn’t even a little coffee/tea set up. Add to that, you need to ask for your room to be made up (which no one told me — and there’s no obvious reminder of this in the room). I feel sort of dumb for having splurged when I could have stayed somewhere just fine closer to some of the attractions I wanted to visit.
J6261EIdann (10/5): STILL Kansas City's Jewel! - The Crossroads Hotel has remained Kansas City's hidden jewel since it's opening. The lobby bar, XR has the best atmosphere, friendliest servers and bartenders and the best cocktails and appetizers. Lazia is another jewel. The food is delicious. You can't beat their homemade pastas and everything else was so good! We especially loved the grilled octopus. I wouldn't usually order it but my partner wanted it and it ended up being the best dish we had. The Radiatore pasta was also incredible. Their homemade pastas are not to be missed! And the service staff is outstanding -- so friendly and knowledgable. The front desk team is always so welcoming. It's kind of like being welcomed back home. THANK YOU for an awesome stay!
dnedzel (10/5): Beautiful upscale boutique hotel - Beautifully restored older warehouse building with a modern interior. Very friendly helpful staff. My room was lovely with modern furnishings and a big TV and great shower. I had dinner in the italian restaurant in the building, very good! This hotel costs a little more than the other properties I considered but I think it was worth it.

We were supposed to be beachside at Marco Island but the weather was crummy so we cancelled our trip and did this staycation instead. We just may have enjoyed this more! One note: it was usable and still great to have, but the hammock chair/swing in our room needs repaired or replaced (it appeared to have a makeshift fix already). And one last note: Hold onto Kelly at the front desk. She is who I would want greeting guests 24/7. Perfect for her position/job (you would not sense it is a job for her; just a happy, pleasant person).
msa23_2000 (10/5): Great location - very trendy - The architecture is an old warehouse converted into a hotel. It appears to be trendy. I didn’t have a car so it was walking distance from lots to do. Lots of nearby restaurants. It is pretty happening so lots of music until late. I’m a quiet person and like to go to bed early, and the noise didn’t bother me. The atrium rooms probably have more noise as they face the lobby and bar. It is quite a bit more expensive than other hotels but location is excellent.

The location was perfect - across a walking bridge from Union Station and quite a few restaurants in the area. The room was unique and extremely clean and comfortable, and we spent some quality time in the lounge area too. Food/appetizers were great and it's a nice space to catch up with friends or family with some board games and pool etc. Would definitely stay here again next time we are in town.

We stayed at the Crossroads hotel on a cross-country drive from New York to New Mexico. It was by far our favorite hotel. Friendly and welcoming staff allowed our little four-legged family member to stay with us, along with lush artscapes, great food and drink options, and creative, innovative offerings.
Roam422852 (10/5): Great Place to Spend Christmas - We stayed at the Crossroads Hotel from Dec. 24th thru the 26th as we had a son proposing to his fiancé on the 24th. Upon arrival, we mentioned that we had Christmas gifts in the car and the doorman, Cody, assured us that he would take special care to make sure that our vehicle would be safe. We were greeted warmly at check-in by a very friendly and courteous lady (I wish I could remember her name because she was wonderful). Rooms were awesome with an ample amount of space and extremely clean. We returned to the hotel after the proposal and dinner to find the bar area busy. It was a fun and festive place to be on Christmas Eve. We really appreciated what a great staff the Crossroads had to make our Christmas a memorable holiday!

Freedom298911 (10/5): Birthday Staycation in the vault suite - went for a staycation surprise for my girlfriends birthday. the staff helped keep me up to date about room availability and rushed an early entry so i could stage the room to surprise her with a pre set room and unexpected stay. staff was amazing. best breakfast in KC. and the hotel and rooms are absolutely singularly gorgeous. the vault suite is a must book - best room I've ever stayed in anywhere.

They have a rotating art installation at the front which is super unique. Places very well designed very clean in the rooms are quiet. Super prime location too.

One of my favorite details - the faucet handle for the shower is opposite of the showerhead, so you can easily stay out of the shower when you turn it on. Such a thoughtful touch, I want to do this in my next bathroom remodel.

After a home emergency displaced our family (including a child and dog) on the holiday, the team at Crossroads Hotel went above and beyond. From Sharia’s compassionate handling of our frantic booking call to Stephanie’s warm welcome upon arrival, the empathy and professionalism were unmatched. We enjoyed incredible food and drinks in the lounge, which accommodated our pet perfectly. As service industry veterans who travel often, we can confidently say this was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had nationally or internationally. We will definitely be back.
121abrilr (4/5): Not a great experience, had high expectations but they weren’t met. - We stayed the night here for my husbands birthday , first we didn’t get the room we thought we booked looking at the pictures that we seen on the website for the room and didn’t get any accommodations to fixing the problem or any credit we could use during the stay. At the end of our night we found what looked like blood on the sheets, since it was already late and we were ready to go to sleep we just used the second bed. If you didn’t pay for valet , there was parking garages that you couldn’t leave because then you had to pay $15 every time you came back. The bed was not comfortable. They did have hot running water in shower. Would honestly not stay again.

I also saw a manager deep cleaning some things behind the bar, it’s clear everyone cares about the space and the customer here. My omelette was great too!!!
Explorer59089451987 (10/5): Wedding Staycation MUST! - my husband and I stayed at the Crossroads Hotel for our wedding night and hosted an event at Percheron the next day. We stayed in a Crossroads King room. The room appears small online, but was the perfect size for 1-2 people - we did not feel crowded at all. The room was very comfortable across the board - clean bedding, tall shower with good water pressure, warm / non-harsh lighting options, you name it. The atmosphere was boutique, quiet, and exclusive - you can guarantee you'll get a personalized experience and feel like you're having night out in the city. The service and drinks at the lobby bar are both wonderful - highly recommend a late night pizza! As for our Percheron event, we were grateful that our day-of team quickly switched gears when we decided last-minute to switch from the rooftop to the indoor art gallery space due to weather. Service again was excellent - we truly feel like we got an experience beyond what we paid for, and will absolutely be looking to stay here and host events here again.
nickjH80QJ (2/5): Valet damaged car - I stayed at the Crossroads Hotel in Kansas City for my girlfriend’s birthday weekend and unfortunately had a terrible experience. When the valet parked my car, they hit and damaged my front splitter (Maxton Design) — it was visibly ripped and hanging when I got it back. I reported it to the staff right away, expecting them to do the right thing. Instead, management claimed my car “arrived damaged” and refused to show me the security footage from the valet area that would clearly prove otherwise. I wasn’t looking to argue or ruin the weekend, so I left it alone at the time, but the lack of accountability and transparency was really disappointing. I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels that take responsibility when their team makes a mistake — unfortunately, this isn’t one of them. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially if you’re trusting their valet with a nice vehicle.

melaniet680 (10/5): Best place for a wedding weekend! - We chose Crossroads Hotel for our wedding weekend. Grace Packenham and Kari Zettel were incredible in helping us with our hotel block. We truly appreciate their guidance in navigating the booking process. Both were easy to communicate with and did an excellent job keeping us informed about pricing, room bookings, changes, and special accommodations. I’m especially glad they encouraged us to upgrade our room—oh my gosh, it was stunning! The whole staff at the hotel offered thoughtful touches that made our stay extra special. Stephanie at the check in desk ensured we were well taken care of, and both check-in and check-out were effortless thanks to her. The XR restaurant was top notch and we can't say enough good things about the food and drinks.

JVMorales05 (10/5): Amazing stay! - Checking out today and had to leave a review because this was one of the best hotel stays ever. The service here was the key element. The front desk was always incredible to us and my family during our stay. Offering cookies to the children and always addressing any of our needs. The restaurant downstairs was another sneaky surprise. Don’t sleep on the breakfast food, it’s all good! And like I said service any where you go was fantastic. Plus the hotel is gorgeous. Very swanky, but not pretentious, seriously cool and comfortable vibes from everyone. And yes even the crowds there were nice, it’s a great cohort over here. Oh and walking around was easy to do, great location. Went to town topic like twice daily lol. Enjoy your stay, highly recommend it.
Melissa (9/5): Trendy and happening place. Would stay here again. - Amazing amenities, great location, super trendy hotel. Noisy on Friday and Saturday nights due to the rooftop DJ and the main level bar turns into a club. The hotel rooms are overlooking the lobby/bar area similar to a courtyard.

johngD156EC (10/5): Everything is Great at Crossroads KC - We had a great time at Crossroads. The staff were engaged and friendly and the property is very cool -- in the arts district. Excellent rooms / comfortable and well appointed. The restaurant was amazing too -- great food, fun entertaining on the roof -- and downstairs for brunch and sports on the big screen -- all around great experience. Staff get 5 stars and A+!

Valet was on the spot, the restaurant was elegant with nice wait staff and really good food, very cool atmosphere overall. Surprisingly lumpy mattress, no coffee maker in room, a microwave in room would be nice, no breakfast at all with, we think, free coffee in the lobby if you could find a cup, bathroom floor was sticky with cleaning residue - little things that did not fit the boutique hotel experience. Great location!
S2871TLmonical (10/5): CROSSROADS OWES ME NOTHING! - This hotel was 5 stars from check-in to check-out. Rarely in all my travels have I had such a good stay. First off, the entrance into the hotel though unassuming, belied a well-appointed and uniquely crafted lobby/ restaurant/ bar area. This old building has been rehabbed from a derelict Pabst distribution warehouse into a stunning hotel. I loved the industrial details that have been left in place and admired the craftsmanship behind this smartly designed conversion. If anything, it would have been interesting to have hung pictures of the old building throughout the venue. The front desk personnel was the friendliest! They were personable and went out of their way to be helpful. They took an interest in my travels and remembered us the next day. The free water bottles were greatly appreciated. Our room was, of course clean, but also well-designed with adequate lighting. Charging stations were bedside as well as around the desk area. I really appreciated the Fitness Center as one of the best at any hotel. It was spacious and well-equipped w/ new-looking machines, weights and, even a scale. Everything was well-kept and clean. We enjoyed hanging out a bit in the rooftop lounge. My one disappointment was that they didn't have the Gem salad that was listed on the menu. But, we went to the hotel bar in the lobby area and we were able to order a Thai salad. Craving satisfied. That's the other thing. So many food choices are easily accessible. There is an Italian restaurant- Lazia- on site and a Thai restaurant across the street. There's also a lot to do in this area. However, given our limited time in Kansas City, MO, we were only able to fit in a walk to Union Station. Even though it was at night, I felt very safe. Overall, a wonderful stay. If I'm ever in the area again, this hotel would be my choice. LOVED IT!

docGamba (10/5): Excellent people - Attended a conference in KC. Great location, lots of restaurants within walking distance . Front desk personnel are welcoming, friendly and helpful. They make a difference, even the valet guys are the best. Only caveat I would add is that this hotel is in a restored old building with concrete floors and brick walls, etc. so if this isn't your kind of thing you might be turned off by it. But the rooms are well appointed and you'll get a good nights sleep.

aliciarZ4192TF (10/5): Amazing hotel!! - All of the associates at the hotel are incredibly welcoming, friendly, and helpful. They offered me a water when I was going up to my room and leaving for the airport, helped me with my bag, and I was able to borrow a nice, big umbrella when it was pouring rain. The lobby bar & restaurant is delicious and the perfect vibe, and there is always coffee in the lobby which is perfect for when you're running late to a meeting.

Judy (10/5): Parking was what I noticed first - Parking. Not very evident and a stresser. I also did find the lack of some traditional hotel amenities such as coffee/ tea in the room to be missed. Great hotel for an adult, but not kid friendly. I would stay again, if I was traveling by myself.

As punishment, I was ordered to valet my own car while others watched, and this valet parked cars for white guests. Manager never called, as promised.

Whether you’re in town for entertainment, food, or family fun, everything is within easy reach. The vibe of the hotel is modern, stylish, and relaxed – a perfect mix of comfort and cool. I highly recommend Crossroads Hotel to anyone visiting Kansas City. I’m already looking forward to my next stay!

ANNA (8/5): Neat hotel for a 24 hour conference - Neat hotel. I couldn’t tell if the area was safe to explore or not. It didn’t look like a “go for a walk” neighborhood. The valet didn’t help load the bags. They were a little more casual than I would have expected.

Jason (10/5): - Tremendously good experience. The design elements of the Crossroads Hotel are fantastic. Think like an Ace Hotel, but with real soul to it. Whenever I’d interact with anyone at the hotel, they’d go out of their way to help and just be kind. The lobby bar is also really cool and not to be missed. Highly recommend.

cherryfm2020 (10/5): Loved the Room and the Rooftop Bar! - Really liked the location, the room design and the rooftop bar. Had a lovely evening of live music against the backdrop of the KC skyline and the bar menu was perfect. Nice cocktails too. Will definitely stay there again.

They went above and beyond to take care of me and make sure my stay was excellent and that I was happy. I can easily say this is the best customer service I have received at a hotel in a long time. My room was spacious and comfortable just like the details on the website. The bed was comfortable and the shower was amazing!
