- Stafford-blythe (10/5): Absolutely gorgeous! - Absolutely beautiful room (Murray), gorgeously kitted out (insanely comfy bed) with a top notch breakfast. It's a really beautiful period property and easy to find. Nicely located near Loch Lomond and other little towns nearby. The only slight downside is that it is on a fairly busy road but this quietens down at night.

- HowardW387 (10/5): One of our favourite stays anywhere! - Great hosts, location, food, the lot!
There are just two bookable rooms at Kilmaronock Manse, which means you get a really personal stay. The attention to detail and friendliness of Maggi and Gordon is exceptional, they took a real interest in our stay and helped us get the most out of the local area. They clearly enjoy pleasing their guests and always found time to chat with us.
Breakfast is generous and delicious - if you're planning to contend with a strenuous day of walking, there's nothing better. I tended to opt for proper porridge with loads of fresh berries, followed by a full Scottish breakfast, but there are plenty of other cooked or cold options for the less gluttonous.
The location is particularly good for walkers, in that it sits roughly equidistant between the likes of Ben Lomand on one side of the loch and the Cobbler on the opposite. It means you can tackle all of the walks in the region without early starts. Hidden gems also lurk nearby, such as the idyllic and virtually deserted Loch Chon - a smaller loch, with a rare tranquility, ideal for a picnic or just reading a book in utter silence by the shore.
We never really holiday in the same place twice, but in this instance, it's tempting to do just that!
- Rebecca (10/5): Can’t wait to stay again - A lovely stay. Beautiful, historic house and the room was very comfortable. Shame I couldn’t stay longer!
- Simon (10/5): Fantastic B&B - Fantastic stay to break up a long journey from the north west of Scotland. Fantastic hosts, very comfortable and exceptionally clean room. We were disappointed in ourselves for only being able to stay the one night!
- natalie0592 (10/5): Lovely stay in a great location! - Lovely stay at Kilmarnock Manse in the Hamilton Room, can’t fault it!
Upon arrival we were greeted with tea, coffee and warm scones with homemade jam. Both Gordon and Maggi are really friendly and make an amazing breakfast!
The bed was really comfy and room had a nice view. Would definitely recommend and would return ourselves should we be back in the area!
- David (10/5): Pleasurable experience - Stayed just the one night as a rest for a journey North. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience, it was a lovely rest and sorry we didn't stay longer. The Manse was lovely and we were made to feel welcome wiithout over-attentiveness. We will look forward to coming back.
- Tim (10/5): 100% Recommended - Gordon and Maggi were lovely, although our stay was brief we were made to feel very welcome and having spent the week camping it was a well received bit of luxury. Highly recommended
- colinhoran83 (10/5): I’d 100% recommend Kilmaronock Manse - We had a perfect two night stay at Kilmaronock Manse, at the start our two week trip of Scotland. Gordon and Maggi made us feel incredibly welcome, and served up a delicious breakfast each morning. Our room was spacious and comfortable and the shower was very powerful.
As first timers to the Loch Lomond area, we were unsure of the best location to stay but this was spot on. Whilst we were there we walked up Conic Hill (just a few mins drive from the B&B and has spectacular views over Loch Lomond) and hiked Ben A’an, which was even more spectacular (about 30 mins away).
I’d 100% recommend Kilmaronock Manse and if you do stay there, then I’d also recommend both The Clachan and The Old Mill for dinner nearby.
- jessica0117 (10/5): Just beautiful - Me and my partner stayed here after our lovely week around Scotland. We were welcomed by maggi and Gordon when we arrived, they showed us around their beautiful house then onto our breathtaking room for the night. The view was just stunning! Maggi did inform us there were a couple of pubs/restaurants around the local area if we wanted to book one of them for dinner. The bathroom had a lovely size shower and big fluffy towels. There were little extra such as soap/shampoo/shower gel and condition. The tea and coffee tray had a very good range of different flavour teas and fresh grounded coffee. We did decided to go to one of the pubs Maggi had said (Clachan) and it didn’t disappoint. We retired to the kings size bed and fell fast asleep. Bed was extremely comfortable with the goose feather pillows and quilt. We chosen our breakfast the night before so no fuss in the morning. Both Maggi and Gordon greeting us in the breakfast room and quickly had our fabulous breakfast ready for us. Great choice of hot and cold/fresh food available for us. Fantastic conversation but also let us enjoy our breakfast alone whilst enjoying the mountains and fields view. Will be back very soon so thank you for making us feel so welcome.
- helepip (10/5): Perfect Week Away - Just on our way home from a short visit to see family. We couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome! Such a comfy stay and the breakfast was brilliant! Great location too! Thank you for making our holiday a home from home experience.
- jennyl189 (10/5): Overnight stay - Would highly recommend this Bed & Breakfast, we only stayed for one night and were treated like VIP’s. The room was beautiful, bed very comfortable and our breakfast was wonderful. We were treated to scones and cream for afternoon tea which was something we didn’t expect. Our hosts Maggi and Gordon were very welcoming people, which made you feel very relaxed. Would definitely visit again. Thanks
- stevent643 (10/5): Spot on! - This is what B&B's should be, friendly hosts, great building, great bed and most importantly, a great breakfast. With afternoon tea (with scones) on arrival it was exactly what we needed after a 500 mile drive. Would recommend to anyone needing to stay in the area.
- Craig2876 (10/5): Clean, comfortable and friendly - If you are looking for these qualities then you hit the jackpot. Had a lovely one night stay in the Hamilton room . The area is stunning and taking a stroll on the shore of nearby Loch Lomond is an absolute must.
Excellent breakfast, I expect to make future plans for another trip with a longer stay at this B&B.
- 573glynism (10/5): Delightful stay - We stayed one night in this lovely place. It’s setting is magnificent, Maggie and Gordon were delightful hosts, great breakfast, comfortable room and bed. Don’t hesitate to book your stay here. You will be pleased
- HolidaySeeker54 (10/5): Beautiful location - Everything about this place is wonderful - the views, the rooms , the hospitality- the hosts Gordon and Maggi were so kind and helpful - we had a lovely time here - it’s a beautiful place - thoroughly recommend!
- paulinebO645TG (10/5): Special luxury bed and breakfast stay at Kilmaronock Manse - Just returned from a three night stay at Kilmaronock Manse. This lovely house is situated near Loch Lommond and offers great views of the countryside. We were made very welcome by the owners Gordon and Maggi and had a very comfortable and luxurious stay. The bedroom was tastefully and beautifully furnished and there was a separate sitting room for our use. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room and the breakfasts were served in the dining room. There was an excellent and varied choice for breakfast and it was cooked perfectly. Maggi and Gordon went over and above what was expected and we cannot thank them enough for such a wonderful stay.
- NicholasW1849 (10/5): I don't like B&B, but loved this one - We loved this place. Great bedroom beautifully fitted... it was like a great John Lewis bedroom. We had a private lounge too. We had wonderful views from this stunning house. Food options nearby are good and of course the whole area has so much to offer. Breakfast was excellent.
The hosts are a really nice couple, who make you feel so welcome. This is an exceptional B&B.
- CatherineAC2018 (10/5): Just like being in your own home! - You will feel right at home here in this beautiful and charming house! We were very warmly welcomed by our hosts Maggie and Gordon and very well taken care of. My husband and I stayed here for two nights to attend a friend's wedding in nearby Gartness. We were very close to Drymen and were able to eat there for dinner and hike up Conic Hill (which I would highly recommend) overlooking the stunning Loch Lomond in nearby Balhama. We were in the Hamilton Room which overlooks the mountains. Very comfortable bed and two sitting chairs which will allow you to enjoy the view out the window. We also felt very cozy in the sitting room with the fireplace turned on. Breakfast every morning was delicious and filling. Thank you so much for a great stay!
- Y7887PZjoannel (10/5): Beautiful! - Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. Such a gorgeous house, with lovely decor and fantastic views. Maggi and Gordon are fab, such lovely people. Had a great time and will definitely return! Would recommend this B&B to anyone!
- RKP712 (10/5): Well worth the visit - Travelling recently from Australia we spent two nights on the west side of Loch Lomond and loved the area so much we decided to stay another two nights on the east side of the loch at Kilmaronock Manse.
Our hosts were very welcoming and we enjoyed staying with them. Breakfast each morning was excellent and of good presentation. The rooms were ideal with lovely outlook to the countryside.
At this point in time l understand that the accommodation is only available on weekends however this is likely to change shortly.
Happy to recommend Kilmaronock Manse to anyone wishing to have a central base near the famous loch.
- cazz292 (10/5): A lovely location with warm and friendly hosts - We were in Scotland to attend a 3 day wedding in the local area. We were very happy to arrive at Kilmaronock Manse (a beautiful house) to be greeted by Maggi with a very warm welcome. Our room "Hamilton" was just lovely! Tea, coffee and delicious home made shortbread awaited us... yum! Breakfast was freshly cooked and very tasty with a variety of offerings to suit all. Would highly recommend this B&B if you are in this area. Attention to detail and your comfort is very important to these wonderful hosts who are on hand for anything you may need. Many thanks Maggi and Gordon we had a great time!!
