Arias (6/5): I’ve stayed here in the past but unfortunately I don’t think I’m going to be back. When I checked in I was told there wa - I’ve stayed here multiple times over the years. I like the cottage layout. Looks like the property hasn’t been that well maintained over the years. It looks like the tried to update part of the bathroom but not the whole thing.
Michael (7/5): A no-frills spot, reasonably priced, with good motorcycle parking and close to the Dragon. - Location was great for riding the Tail of the Dragon and Cherohala Skyway - purpose of the trip. Host was very friendly and helpful. Restaurants within easy walking distance. Room was dated. No closet. Bathroom sink next to bed. Window air conditioning unit allowed traffic noise to be heard. Fortunately, it was quiet after 11:00 pm.

Stephen (10/5): Excellent - Central in downtown Robbinsville. I have stayed at this property multiple times over the last 2 years as I am building my property locally. Good value, friendly owner, comfortable rooms. Nothing to dislike about this establishment.
Jason (1/5): Horrible - Nothing Cleanliness. Filled the jacuzzi tub and the water was yellow. Drained it and there was a yellow grimy ring around where the water level was. The shampoo/soap dispenser in the shower had congealed moldy product in it.... see pictures

Christopher (8/5): - The wifi was pretty bad and could use a rework. The signal wasn't very strong and you would have to constantly log back into their service which sometimes wouldn't even work.

Nathan (10/5): Very cozy and relaxing stay at the historic Phillips motel. Staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. - Charming motel with character of a time gone by. The garden and landscaping are top notch, and the grounds are decorated with quirky and cool art. Can be a little noisy inside the room. Especially the side against the “cut through street”.

Alan (5/5): Spend just a little more and get a better place. - The door has a flimsy turn handle with the main lock and also a deadbolt. The door frame would not allow both locks to be engaged at the same time. I chose the deadbolt lock which left the door not completely sealed from the outside elements. It was 35° the next morning. Cheap and old furniture, beds, blinds, etc.. The old carpet had gaps in it. Tiny bathroom so small the sink was in the main room. No decent restaurants in town.
Denise (5/5): Once was enough, won't ever stay there again - First step into the office (living room old the old main house) was the nasty smell of cat urine & burnt fish. I practically had to hold my breath during check-in, while praying my room wasn't going to smell like the owner's house. I was very thankful the room was old but not smelly & clean enough. The decor was odd- furniture didn't match bedding or wall decorations. Definitely needed a little repairs all around.

Robert (7/5): Good location and price, probably wouldn’t bring spouse. - Convenient location for Tail of the Dragon, Cherohala Skyway and other roads in the area. Decent price. For motorcyclists there is covered parking and rags for cleaning bikes. Bed was comfortable. Room was worn, bathroom is tiny.

Martin (8/5): We would probably stay there again - we'd request the same room if we did. - Roger greeted us with a smile and assigned us a comfy room with a comfortable King bed. He was helpful with dinner recommendations and was pleasant to speak with. location is convenient, and the staff is warm and welcoming - the guest room was good size, was quiet (except when others were checking in next door), he bed was comfy, and the outside area was very pleasant (plants, flowers, sculptures and a cat). Traffic passing by was very minimum and we didn't hear anything from inside our room. Parking was convenient to the room.

An extension cord clipped to a lamp beside the bed; USB ports plugged in to the outlet by the sink; full-size shampoo; real coffee rather than packets, and of course homey decor ( I had lively lilac colored sheets). It felt more like staying with family than being in a motel. Walls are thin
Welsh (8/5): Affordable place to stay in Robbinsville! - Affordable & convenient to Robbinsville services. The property is certainly dated and could use a refresh, but the affordable price made it worth staying there. I fully understand that upgrading a hotel like this is incredibly expensive, but the place has great "bones" and could be truly awesome!! I would definitely stay there again.

Only thing I would say is that controls for the bathtub shower need to be replaced. It was a little tricky to get the right tempeture.

The rooms and furnishings are very old. Sparse kitchenware 1spoon and fork. Toilet ran causing water pressure low. Air conditioner leak on dresser and floor. Living room smelled like stale pee.

The bed was somewhat comfortable. Nice water pressure in the shower. It’s obvious that the hotel is older and in need of updating, the carpet tiles are peeling up and the bathroom door didn’t close completely. The cold water knob on the bathroom sink didn’t work (we couldn’t get it to turn at all). The tv was difficult to watch because it sits on the dresser and the bed frame obscures the screen. The ac was adequate but never got cold.

Cliff (4/5): Needs sprucing up and an exterminator. - Beds are very uncomfortable. Ants both inside and outside the room. Deadbolt did not actually lock the door. Shower plumbing was loose in the wall. It definitely needs a lot of modernization, sprucing up, and an exterminator for the ants!

The fellow that checked me in was entertaining. the shower and bath were clean and everything worked—very spacious older rooms. the kitchette was well appointed—no coffee. TV worked well with hundreds of channels—i don’t watch TV. The wi-fi/internet was slow and marginal. the window A/Cs should have been replaced years ago as well as the bed mattress

We were afraid we wouldn't make it before he closed. He told me he would leave the key out for us and we could settle up with him in the morning. This motel is old but clean. No bugs!!! Great location and covered parking for motorcycles.

Johnathan (8/5): - Service was excellent, very happy with the staff. The room was also generally very clean and pretty comfortable. The downsides were primarily in room condition. There is a lot of fit and finish that should be done to bring the rooms up to a suitable standard. I appreciate the historic nature of the motel and don't expect remodeling, though there were issues like missing/damaged trim, pretty poor paint, poor seal around the window AC, etc. I also would have appreciated black out curtains or blinds as a lot of light came through the existing, small curtains. My only complaint cleanliness wise was that I saw what appeared to be black mold growing beneath the showerhead on the wood panels. Otherwise the room was very clean.

It is located close to several gas stations and fast food restaurants as well as an Ingles. In spite of being close to these things, the property was fairly quiet. Only complaint is that there is limited parking out front, however there are a few more parking spaces affiliated with the hotel behind the restaurant next door that we utilized. Overall was a clean and comfy experience.
