Eileen ไอลีน 화림아이린 (1/5): 8명이 10인실 예약하고 4인실에 몰려 자야 했던 황당한 1박 후기 - 본인은 친구들과 함께 여4, 남4 총 8명이 8월 15~16일 경주 여행을 계획했습니다. 숙소를 고를 때 가장 중요하게 생각한 조건은 8명 전원이 침대에서 잘 수 있어야 한다는 점이었습니다. 여러 곳을 검색하던 중, 조건에 맞는 해당 숙소를 발견하여 8월 11일에 10인 객실(디럭스 패밀리룸)을 8월 15~16일 1박으로 예약했습니다. 그러나 예약 당일 호텔 측에서 전화가 와, 조금 더 안쪽에 위치한 8인 객실로 변경을 권유했습니다. 하지만 그렇게 되면 차액 81,000원이 발생하는데 이에 대한 보상은 없다는 답변을 들었습니다. 이 과정에서 총 3번의 통화가 있었고 말이 길어지며 불편한 감정이 들 뻔했으나, 결국 처음 예약했던 10인 객실로 배정받았습니다. 이 과정에서 알게 된 사실은, 10인 객실은 6인 객실과 4인 객실을 묶어둔 상품이고, 8인 객실 또한 4인 객실 2개를 묶어둔 상품이라는 점이었습니다. 하지만 예약 당일(8월 15일), 체크인 시 호텔 측에서 “현재 6인 객실의 에어컨이 작동하지 않는다”고 안내했습니다. 사람을 불러 최대한 수리하겠다고 하여 기다렸습니다. 저희 일행은 경주월드에서 놀고 돌아와 피곤한 상태였고 옷도 젖어 있었기에, 일단 6인 객실은 여자방, 4인 객실은 남자방으로 나누어 샤워와 휴식을 취했습니다. (참고로 15일이 공휴일이라 주변 숙소는 이미 만실이라 다른 방을 구할 수도 없는 상황이었습니다.) 여자 4명이 6인 객실에서 샤워하고 쉬는 동안, 남자 에어컨 기사님(호텔 측 지인으로 보임)이 객실에 계속 드나들었고(증거사진 보유), 호텔 여자 사장님 또한 객실을 들락거리며 통화를 여러 차례 하셨습니다. 저희 입장에서는 매우 불편했지만 문제를 원만히 해결하고 싶다는 마음에 불만을 드러내지 않았습니다. 그러나 에어컨은 끝내 고쳐지지 않았고, 사장님은 계속 “괜찮냐”는 말만 반복하며 “뒷편이 산이라 밤에는 시원하다”라는 설명을 하셨습니다. 저희는 일단 알았다고 하고 남자방으로 넘어가 저녁을 먹었습니다. 식사 중간중간 여자들은 여자방에 있는 화장실을 이용하였고, 사장님도 계속해서 마주치며 여자방(6인 객실)이 너무 더워 이용이 불가하다는 점을 충분히 인지하셨습니다. 식사가 끝나고 여자방으로 돌아가 잠을 청했으나 너무 더워 결국 8명 전원이 남자방(4인 객실)으로 모여 불편하게 취침했습니다. 4인 객실에 8명이 몰리다 보니 에어컨을 최대로 가동해도 시원하지 않은 구역이 있었고, 결국 2명은 새벽에 차에서 잠을 청할 수밖에 없었습니다. 어느 누구도 편히 잘 수 없는 상황이었습니다. 다음 날 아침, 여자 2명이 일찍 일어나 6인 객실에서 씻고 준비하는데 사장님이 객실에 들어오셨습니다. 저희는 환불을 요청했지만, 사장님은 불가하다며 여러 가지 이유를 설명하다가 “커피값으로 쓰라”며 현금 5만원을 건넸고, 심지어 뜨거운 녹차라도 마시겠냐고 하셨습니다. 당연히 거절했습니다. 이후 제가 11시쯤 6인 객실로 가서 준비를 하는데, 객실 내부는 가만히 서 있기만 해도 땀이 날 정도로 무척 더웠습니다. 준비를 마치고 사장님과 다시 대화하며 환불을 요청했지만, 사장님은 “이미 방을 다 이용했고, 에어컨 고장은 본인 탓이 아니니 보상할 수 없다”라는 입장을 반복했습니다. 또 “다음 투숙객이 불편하지 않도록 이해해 달라”라는 말도 했습니다. (하지만 저희는 비용을 지불한 손님으로서 왜 불편을 감수해야 하는지 납득할 수 없었습니다.) 저희가 요청한 보상은 6인 객실비의 70% 환불이었으나, 사장님은 추가로 5만원만 줄 수 있다는 입장을 고수했습니다. 그러면서 “지금은 바쁘니 일단 가시라, 제가 편한 시간에 전화를 드리겠다”고 말했습니다. 그러나 투숙이 끝난 지 5일이 지난 지금까지 연락은 없었고, 추가 환불 역시 이루어지지 않았습니다. 결국 저희는 돈을 지불하고도 정상적인 숙박 서비스를 전혀 제공받지 못했으며, 이에 대한 정당한 환불 및 보상이 반드시 필요하다고 생각합니다.
