Guest Reviews

- Sarah (9/5): Stylish little hotel in a great location. - The location is great and the room was very comfortable and stylish. We enjoyed the swimming pool and the beach club access, which was stunning. The shared kitchen was an added bonus.
- RoudyTawfiq (8/5): Solo Trip in Tulum - The location, friendliness and professionalism of the staff. The room was spacious and stylish. The hotel has a restaurant, cafe, pharmacy, convenience store around it. I would have appreciated if the doors could be locked from inside or outside with the key.
- Ronald (10/5): Excelente!
- Victor (8/5): everything we needed for a lovely stay. - We loved the staff, very communicative and helpful. They accommodated all of our needs/requests and helped us to make a lot of great plans. Our room specifically did not have great water pressure, sometimes with no water at all coming out of our sink. Also our curtain was broken so we got a lot of natural light that woke us up.
- Nicusor (10/5): - Best value for money
- Chloe (6/5): - It was a nice place. Nothing fancy but the people were nice and the beds were comfy what more do you need?
We also thought we had booked a 2 bedroom and they moved us no problem. Was super nice of them.
Ohh and the honey soap in the room smelt delicious Only thing that bothered me is that the lighting and curtains.
The curtains were thin so my room has the lights from next doors hotel shining in my eyes when trying to sleep
Ironically the room lighting wasn’t bright enough and didn’t have an option to turn up so when I was sorting my luggage the night before I had to have my phone torch on to see what I was doing which was slightly inconvenient basically the aesthetic was pretty just not 100% functional
- Petar (8/5): Good value for money - The location is excellent for a peaceful vacation — it feels like you’re in the jungle in the middle of nowhere, yet it’s only 150 meters from the beach Such a large accommodation requires a reception with a permanent receptionist. Ivo was great over messages, but we never actually met, which is unusual for a 7-day stay.
The room was very dark, both during the day and at night. I understand that I’m in the jungle, but at least give me the option to turn on a light — maybe I want to read something.

- Ramtin (9/5): Cute little hotel for a good price, friendly staff - We had a great stay at Casa Coyote. Ivo and his colleagues were very helpful and quickly answered any questions or requests we had. No hooks or racks for towels in our room
- Martina (8/5): -
- victoria dror (1/5): STAY AWAY THERE IS BETTER PLACES FOR CHEAPER PRICE - Mold infestation! Bad smell ! Jungle showers no isolation from mosquitos I was eaten alive forced to leave 3 night before the place refused to refund me ! SCAMMERS STAY AWAY FROM. A health hazard the curtains are full with mold on top of everything the rooms are noisy no isolation you hear people talking the staff talking the feel is like you are in a guest house . Everything! Even the internet is not working!

- Pdlp (9/5): great value for the area its in. - The price is INCREDIBLE for the location, that alone makes it a place i would book again. I loved that it has a shared kitchen, a place to park my scooter safely and for free, a nice vibe. Theres water stations to fill up water bottles in kitchens. the bathroom sink is tiny, they put glass water bottles in my room which made me happy since water is expensive in the area... but they never filled it so I felt disappointed.

- John (8/5): - Very nice sizable room excellent bathroom.
Mine are concerned, but having two towels and two washcloths. When there is a party of two which was resolved upon request.
Shared kitchen should be stocked with coffee for all parties. This is standard
Overall, good place, walking distance with most everything.
Beach called back says across the street was very excellent.
- Megan (10/5): The owner Patricia was so welcoming and made our stay memorable! Evo the hotel manager was also so nice and helpful. The - The room, the staff, the food, the walkability! The water pressure for the shower was very weak, but that’s to be expected from an eco-friendly area like Tulum.
- Alexia (10/5): Wonderful - Absolutely amazing stay ! An absolute dream!
Would definitely stay again and would have stayed longer if I knew ! The staff, the room absolutely amazing
Ansonsten alles gut!
- Biljana (10/5): Perfection ! I couldn’t ask for more. - Very close to the beach as well great view on to the jungle for the stunning sunsets.
- Olivia (10/5): Awesome spot! - Very cool hotel built into the jungle. Cool rooms. Slightly outdated but nothing that would effect the stay
- Cam (7/5): Great price for a cute place - Easy check in great price
- Jose (10/5): Literally How I Imagined! - EVERY SINGLE THING!! N/A
- florinka (10/5): - This is a great little hotel as its nic e and quiet however it is a bit far from the main resteraunt area.
- Larissa Deniz (9/5): -
- Bradley (10/5): Casa Coyote is a great value located in a perfect location and the value cannot be beat. Ask for - Great value and location. Awesome beach club access and Loco in front of hotel has great breakfast. Ask for Ivo. He is the manager and he is great!!! No bicycles for guest to use.
- Daniela (8/5): Very good - Great location, requests for extra towels and a full length hey mirror were actioned straight away. Host was super communicative and helpful. Great rooftop with pool. Would stay again. Little bit dark in the room with lightning, basin design not great for washing your face and quite high up (for a shorties like me), shower pressure poor and sprays all over the bathroom.
- Nico (10/5): - I had a great stay. Staff was very helpful and the shared areas are nice. Away from crowds.
- Jaime (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nur (8/5): Just nice. - Great location and spacious room. Complete kitchen and a hair dryer available. Since the hotel operates without a physical reception, I feel it would be more convenient to have a single point of contact for guests. At times, when I reached out to one staff member, I was asked to contact the manager which happened a few times and became a bit of a hassle.
Also it would also be appreciated if staff could proactively provide information about the hotel and beach access upon checkin and its closing time. I have to text and asked for this information and wasn’t informed in advance about the closing time. While I’m grateful for the manager’s assistance afterward, it would have been helpful to know earlier so i can plan my timing better.
Lastly, the floor felt a bit oily and sticky when I checked in, which slightly affected my first impression of the room, otherwise good.
- Fernanda (8/5): Very good -
- Ayelet (6/5): Do not stay if without a car! - It’s rustic and so beautiful!!
It has a woodsy foresty feeling.
The staff Nico was really great- he was attentive to all our needs and he switched our room when the AC wasn’t working right. Like in a forest there are bugs and mosquitoes and everything is around you- in our room was fine (some ants).
It’s far from the city of Tulum! Do not stay there unless you have a car! It’s a resort like area where everything is super pricy!!
We felt stuck there and couldn’t wait to leave.

- Nikola (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrés (10/5): Exceptional -
- Beliz (7/5): Good - It’s very well located and the beach/plage they give an access cross the street is perfect. My room with balcony was pretty big, facing the jungle even though the balcony door lock was broken. After I asked the hotel manager to have it fixed, he made it done the day after.
I was a solo woman traveler and never felt unsafe besides the balcony door issue. Everybody was very helpful and nice. The only issue was about the balcony door lock’s being broken but they have it fixed after I asked. The other issue is, my room was on the second floor which you take wood stairs. But some of the nails on the stair rail was faced out and scratched my arm several times while I was taking stairs. They should have the wooden stair rails fixed and balcony lock doors as well before their client ask for it.
- Mareike (9/5): Nice little place in Tulum - The rooms are really nice and the owners and staff are super friendly. We enjoyed the possibility of using the shared kitchen. The rooftop pool is really cool.
- Jolaine (10/5): - Suprisingly great for the price. It was beautiful, in the jungle.
- Yana (10/5): Exceptional - Stylish, simple, close to the ocean Not enough sound isolation
- Alfredo (10/5): - Best place to stay and go across for best beach
- Marina (10/5): Amazing Stay! - Casa Coyote was an incredible stay! Our room was spacious, spotless, and the bed was unbelievably comfortable, exactly what we needed. The hotel has a partnership with a beach club right across the street, which we had access to, making it super convenient. There’s also a great restaurant called Loco right in front, plus plenty of other options within walking distance.
The beach in this area (South Tulum) is absolutely stunning, the water here is much clearer and more vibrant compared to the northern part of Tulum.
Ivo, the manager, was amazing. We asked for a full-body mirror to check our outfits before going out, and he brought one right away without hesitation. Also gave us a lot of local recommendations about cenotes and good restaurants.
Honestly, I still can’t believe how affordable it was for the comfort, service, and prime location. Truly a hidden gem and such a great deal!
- Buşra (10/5): Best affordable place in Tulum - The room that i stayed was so nice. I had a pool view and ancient sauna view from my place. On the top of my apartment there was a terace to watch the sunset.
The enterance is super small but inside so nice.
It is full experince of jungle. If you love animals, you are so lucky. I have seen raucons, lizards, beautiful birds around this place.
The beach is just few mins by walk. There is a collaborated beach club that you can enter for free.
The stuff are super helpful. They are very fast responsive if you need anyhting and they speak english very well.
They even helped me to park my car 😹
The rooms are so beautiful. I wish i could spend more time.
There is a michelin restraurant 5 mins walki by distance.
There are bars around as well.
If i come again, i will stay there again.
- Stephanie (5/5): My stay was memorable despite…. - The proximity to the events I was attending was perfect. Definitely walkable if joining others staying in that area. WIFI reception was horrible..non existent. I would have to leave my room and go onto the rooftop or walk along the front courtyard to have reception. Cleaning of the room wasn’t thorough…the outer side of the toilet bowl was dirty and remained that way during my stay. I wasn’t given extra towels or a replacement of the soiled towels, as I requested. There’s a kitchen has a shared refrigerator. It was filled to the brim with food and smelled. I didn’t see any system in place for knowing what foods to toss when their guests left uneaten forgotten food when they left. The rooftop pool had algae and other debris that wasn’t cleaned during my 3 night 4 day stay.
- Eslem (8/5): The hotel was nice and comfy. The only con of the hotel was the water, it was the ocean water. -
- Milica (10/5): I have to come back! - Everything was perfect! People who work there were amazing, helpful, kind and polite!
Great service and great location!
- Neeley (10/5): - I loved this space. There was a rustic charm to it that appealed to me at the end of a long trip. Staff were very helpful and the collectivo makes it easy enough to get to the ADO or into town.
- Sabrina (10/5): - Ivo was wonderful since the moment we booked. Very easy to communicate with. Patricio was also very helpful and kind at check in. The property is beautiful and the room is just like the pictures, with a nice balcony and all the jungle at the back to us. I loved that they gave us a pass to access the beach club across the street. FYI Area is expensive and food is overpriced
- Chiara (9/5): We had an amazing stay, the location is great with beach access through another hotel. Room was neat and spacious. Staff - We had an amazing stay, the location is great with beach access through another hotel. Room was neat and spacious. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The only tip I can give is to maybe add another light in the bathroom to have some more light while getting ready. The plugs next to the bed (window side) didn’t work, but the other ones did.
- Sophia (10/5): - Amazing place to stay! So incredibly happy I stayed at Casa Coyote for my mini solo trip.
The whole experience was seamless from beginning to end. Ivo was friendly, responsive and always helpful when needed. There is 24 hour security so I felt very safe as a solo traveler. Can’t wait to return! I definitely will be back and would highly recommend Casa Coyote.
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - Casa Coyo is an amazing Place at the most beautiful Beach in Tulum, right to thr Nature reserve. The whole team is super supportive and it‘s defently my favorite place to stay in Tulum.
- Gabriela (8/5): Very good - The location, it wasn’t on the beach but it was literally less then a minute walking The only thing I didn’t like was there was a bug in my face when I woke up, but then I understand we are in the jungle.
- Thanh Van (10/5): - I love my stay at Casa Coyote! Nicco and his staff were extremely helpful. They allowed me to change my room because I didn't like the view from the patio of my first room. For the price, Casa Coyote is excellent. The decorations in the room and throughout the property are very cute. I like the candles lighting the walkway in the evening. They add a special touch to the place. I really like having a patio with the view of the garden. Ask for this if you can. I also like the communal kitchen. I was able to make myself tea and store perishable items in the fridge during my stay. I didn't use the pools because to me, the beach is so much better.
The easy beach access through Dos Ceibas is superb. It cannot be beat! I love every minute at the beach. It's close enough to the hotel that I felt comfortable leaving my things at the beach to come back to the hotel if I forgot anything. The food and staff at Dos Ceibas are also very good. I prefer eating at this restaurant because of the food quality and the peaceful atmosphere. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel. Book it and you won't regret it.
- Remo (10/5): Exceptional - The location of this place is excellent - away from the chaos but close to bars and restaurants. We never needed to go far to enjoy a good dinner or have breakfast with a delicious coffee.
The property offers beach access in an area where we found fantastic sea conditions and a beach without algae - truly the best we saw during our entire trip. The beach amenities were excellent, the food was delicious, and the WiFi connection was great.
Our room was spacious, quiet, and clean. I would definitely return!
- Liana (10/5): Beautiful property and really friendly staff! -
- Nicole (10/5): Exceptional - The owner is very friendly and easy going. The hotel is small and every thing is very chill. The shared kitchen is great and they always offer water. The shower is a bit smelly but it’s at the beach/ jungle. Toilet brush missing, hair dryer ( some basics could be available).
- Tori (10/5): Awesome place, great amenities, great value, awesome restaurant, etc etc - Everything was great. Especially beach access We liked pretty much everything for the price compared to others with these same amenities
- Monika (10/5): Awesome stay. No extra words needed - One word: vibe. This place has incredible vibe of jungle and all interior design is so awesome. We really liked it. Like you are inside of the nature. So cool and with amazing taste! Also the staff is incredibly helpful. The beach club access is one of the most chill and beautiful in the area. We were sad to leave
- Jennifer (10/5): Over expecations and exceptional value for money! - Great location and beautiful design!
The staff were extremely helpful with support for all our needs for example information on the area and also arranging private transports through whatsapp.
The location close to the beach with free beachaccess through Dos Ceibas was also brilliant! Rooms slightly dark, cosy but a little hard to see!
- Viktoria (10/5): Exceptional - Location, the style of the rooms. Felt safe at all times. Staff very friendly and helpful
- Edward (9/5): It would be my 1st choice when I stay in Tulum again. - Great Location, nice size rooms, a little dated but price point amazing. Great staff!!!
- Annie (8/5): - It was my first time going to an eco-hotel so I did not know what to expect but it was a pretty cool experience. Even though the AC automatically turns off from 12pm-5pm, the concrete walls and ceiling fan helped keep the room cool which was essential for getting ready for a wedding.
Ivo was amazing! VERY quick to respond our messages and questions and incredibly helpful with our entire stay. However, I cannot say the same about the concierge service. We attempted to get ahold of our concierge all day Friday with very limited response, same situation on Saturday. Unfortunately this led to us not being able to go on an excursion we had planned on for Sunday. By the time our concierge returned our multiple messages on Saturday, we were already at the wedding we were attending and did not have service to pay for it online. (I had been attempting to get ahold of her since 9am and did not get a message back until 5:30pm.) We were incredibly disappointed by this as we had been very excited for this opportunity.
But again, this was not our experience with Ivo. I felt like Ivo went above and beyond for us!!!
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional - Fabulous stay — the stay was so nice, the rooms were gorgeous. For those wanting to cook, there’s a d communal kitchen. You can go to the beach across the street. Perfect location.
- Zuzanna (10/5): I recommend this place very reasonable price - Love the location Everything
- Arthur (8/5): Super comfy and great value - The location was perfect
- Nigro (10/5): Exceptional - Everything’s Nothing
- Tara (10/5): Hidden gem in a perfect location - Wow - what an amazing stay. Honestly ignore the bad reviews, for the price you are paying this place is absolutely perfect! As someone who has stayed in many expensive hotels in Tulum, I’d say our stay at Casa Coyote was better than most of them when you take the price into consideration.
We arrived at noon from Playa as we had a birthday party at 1 pm at a beach club- the manager Ivo came to meet us, provided us with a private room to freshen up in and store our luggage in. When we came back from the party, our luggage was already in our room and he had the AC blasting for us- such a nice touch. The room was clean and spacious and the bed was super comfortable. The AC worked great. We didn’t have a single issue with mosquitos (and I tend to get bit!) The little courtyard is so pretty and so nice to chill in. The beach club is stunning. The location is perfect - south end of Tulum so quieter.
Thanks Ivo for a great stay! N/A
- Borich (10/5): excellent - The location, the staff and the comfort of the room was incredible. nothing
- Valentina (9/5): Great location nice place, eco-friendly - Great location, my room was nice, eco friendly, clean, staff is amiable, nice decor. Easily accessible. Because it is a bit too much eco-friendly, was friendly & welcoming for mosquitoes too as there are many ways for them to enter, visited me too much during my stay. When was raining was chilly and they didn’t have appropriate blankets to provide. Could hear all the noice because 1 wall has holes through bricks maybe for air circulation& because was eco friendly i guess.
- Melody (2/5): - This place is very dirty and very small inside. It’s for someone who is not use to luxury or nice resorts. More for students. I arrived to this hotel and prefered to loose my money than to stay here. Expedia and the hotel wouldn’t refund us so we lost all our money.
- Lili (8/5): Casa Coyote was a fab stay - Great location near the jungle lodges, we liked this part of the beach. Ivo was super accommodating and a great guy. The shower water was not a problem for us, it didn’t feel bad on the skin. Great housekeeping every day.
Ether beach club across the road had a relationship with the accommodation and had very reasonable day access. Would recommend Casa Coyote. A few more simple home comforts added, like a towel hook in the bathroom and a hairdryer would be great.
- Josephine (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful eco property set in the jungle just across the beach, the hotel has an agreement with the beachfront hotel which meant easy access as guests at casa coyote. We were welcomed by the host who made our entire stay very easy and comfortable. We slept like a dream, overall location was perfect in terms of proximity to restaurants and the noise level at night, rare find on the beach strip Mind the hotel is situated in the jungle meaning bugs will occasionally find their way indoors
- Waleria (5/5): Passable - Location was great & Ivo was a great host. Only recommended for backpackers or travelers without high hotel standards.
The Casa Coyote presents itself very well in its pictures. Unfortunately, this only partially corresponds to reality. Everything is very rough, partly outdated and feels dingy and dirty everywhere!
The location is of course great and if you only come to Tulum to party, it's enough.
It is not recommended for anyone looking for a feel-good place. However, communication with the team was great and they dealt with our complaints very professionally.
- Aimee (8/5): Very good -
- Sean (10/5): - Great spot, great people
- Joao (4/5): Disappointing -
- Wendy (6/5): Pleasant - Good location and nice decor. A/C was good The sheets and towels were stained from the iron in the water. The shower water was salty and low pressure.
- Craig (8/5): Very good -
- Charlene Dawn (8/5): - Good
- Sandra (6/5): Pleasant - Location Shower was broken
