Guest Reviews
- Ann (10/5): - This was a really quaint quirky property but very homely
- Barbara (10/5): -
- Sarah (9/5): Great stay, central location. - Had everything we needed, great location. The road noise is loud.
- Jamie (9/5): Excellent - Good location with everything we needed.
- Rachel (10/5): - The compact space, full of useful and charming touches Nothing
- Clark (9/5): A great stopover and reasonably priced - Lovely quiet property with everything we needed . Great shower and bed . A little noisy upstairs
- Richard (9/5): - Very much enjoyed our stay. Apartment is well equipped, comfortable and nicely decorated and furnished. Only stayed one night whilst waking the Dales Highway, would like to return for longer.
- Lynn (8/5): Lovely .interesting and quaint old world village...local food really good - Location...fab.... Need a new door key
- Sue (8/5): A great stopover on our way to Scotland. - The decor is lovely and the bed really comfortable. The sofa is a little uncomfortable if you’re tall as it’s not very deep.
- Chris (10/5): Lovely space in a beautiful location with great views and amazing restaurants very close by. -
- sean (6/5): - Very clean and all the necessary facilities provided. Lovely cottage but noise issues from the property above on our 2nd night from 12.30- 2am. Raised with the owner who has ignored me regarding the issue. Its a shame because everything else was very nice.
- charlotte (10/5): - Beautiful interior design / attention to detail.
- Jonathan (9/5): - We had a lovely stay here in Sedbergh, great place with a great kitchen
- Alasdair (10/5): Really lovely and quirky little apartment in the centre of Sedbergh - Really lovely and quirky little apartment in the centre of Sedbergh
- THOMAS (10/5): -
- Lorraine (10/5): Peaceful get away. - Location central to everything. Love the quirky decor and toiletries are great. That I couldn’t stay longer…..
- Emma (10/5): Highly recommend, great stay :) - Easy to find, clear instructions, parking nearby, good location, super comfortable bed, good size for 2 people, tea and coffee provided (nice touch), lovely decor, it felt like a home from home, and was reasonably priced. I would highly recommend and would definitely stay again :) Not a huge issue but something that changed my mind/trip was the additional dog fee. I regularly travel with my dog especially to walking destinations and whilst I appreciate there are extra cleaning considerations after a dog has stayed, I felt £25 was steep, this meant I did not being my dog on this occasion. My usual stays with a dog are either free or around the £10-15 mark.
- John (9/5): Excellent - Loved the property, unique quirky and very comfortable. Definitely return and recommend.
- Adam (10/5): Excellent place , warm & cosy. Great views over the hills - Very comfortable. Car park was very close , everything we needed was in here
- Alison (9/5): Comfortable, chilled and warm. - Quirky, central and cosy. Very well presented. Could hear the traffic as front windows not double glazed.
- miriam (10/5): - This was the perfect place to stay after a long few days of hiking. A beautiful spot for one or a couple, with everything you could possibly wish for (for hikers in need a washing machine, great shower with toiletries, fully fitted kitchen and some nice extras like a coffee machine, salt pepper etc.).
Madeleine was so helpful and understanding whilst on my short visit. A true home away from home in the heart of the town, would definitely recommend. Nothing!
- Henriette (10/5): -
- Annabel (9/5): - Clean and comfortable with interesting decor. Had everything we needed.
As described in the information. Nothing
- Peter (10/5): An excellant overnight stay, but eminently suitable for longer stays. - Self catering, but we dined out. The kitchen facilities are first class and spotless. Just a small point, a non-slip mat in the shower would be helpful.
- Lois (9/5): -
- Gordon (9/5): - Central location, parking permit a real bonus. Warm and clean, well decorated. Difficulty with television kept freezing but no big deal.
- Rosa (10/5): -
- Alan (10/5): -
- Lydia (10/5): Workshop studio gem! - We absolutely loved this little gem. We felt right at home as soon as we got there and it was exactly what we needed for some respite as we were passing through on our travels.
We loved the decor and the whole feel about the property; it’s a small studio but space had been thought about with lovely touches and art deco.
Madeline the host went above and beyond for us, we booked extremely last minute (booked and arrived within the hour!), then the following day we’ve had snow and ice blanket the UK, so she popped in to say if we felt unsafe to leave then more than happy for us to stay free of charge for the day to relax and stay the following night. We felt extremely welcome and like nothing was too much hassle.
Unfortunately we had to make our way back home to Cornwall but if we had more time we would have gladly stayed again. Nothing! Great little find. Can see previous reviews about the property being next to a road, but that is all part of it if you decide to book a town house in the main street of a town.
- Patricia (10/5): Lovely location in middle of picturesque village. Well appointed and full of personality - Great location , well equipped, lovely and warm Only suggestion would be to have taller bedside lamps for reading in bed.
- Mark (9/5): -
- Tarquin (10/5): -
- Ben (9/5): - Lovely place, beautiful decor
- Atherton (9/5): - The apartment was clean and it had everything for our one night stay , it is very well equipped. It is in a perfect location to explore Sedbergh and has the benefit of parking nearby. Unfortunately due to its perfect location in the town centre there is quite a lot of traffic noise in the evening and early morning. A shelf in the bathroom for toiletries would be a good addition and maybe remove some items , ie plants which take up a bit of room in the bathroom and have a drying off chair instead of the clogs on a stool .
- Anthony (9/5): -
- J (9/5): Perfect little cottage with the added bonus of free parking. -
- Jim (9/5): -
- Danielle (10/5): Great vibes in a great cottage. - I loved the decor and the easy access. Lovely stay with a really cute and viby place Nothing. It was all good
- Amanda (10/5): -
- Charles (10/5): We loved The Old Chair Workshop, cosy, warm and comfortable - We loved this property, the decor was fab, very comfortable, everything you could want, tea & coffee had been left which was a nice touch along with a welcome guide and local maps which was v useful. That we could only stay one night …. Next time!
- Ruth (8/5): Great place for a short break , loved the decor ! - Location
- Adam (8/5): -
- Kate (8/5): -
- John (10/5): Cosy stay in Sedbergh - Really comfortable, clean little ground floor accommodation. Ideal for single travellers or couples right in the heart of Sedburgh. I'd be very happy to stay again Really liked everything.
- Lynne (9/5): Really nice, comfortable couple of days in a pleasant location. - Lovely place to stay, very comfortable in all aspects. Lots of information provided by the host, the kitchen had everything you needed and I enjoyed getting a shower overlooking the hills :-) Not the host's fault at all but I'm very susceptible to noise and there is a road right outside so the cars sound quite close and as they drive over a grid, it kind of resonates through the room. Honestly this is me being extra picky. Once I put my earplugs in, it was ok but when I go away, I don't really want to have to wear earplugs (sorry).
- Jonathan (5/5): Lots of character but could be better. - Plenty of space. Well located in town centre. No instant coffee or decaf. No plug in sink or washbasin and dismissive response from owner when asked. Uncomfortable bed.
- Jodi (9/5): - Great location. Very comfy bed. Clean and well equipped. Quirky interior made it homely. Could do with a bit more space to put things, bathroom lacked shelf for toiletries. Plants and ornaments took up space. But it was nice to see something so individual.
- Fiona (10/5): Perfect Stopover - Very pretty eclectic style. Fab hot shower and well equipped kitchen.
- Susan (8/5): -
- Tony (9/5): -
- Angela (4/5): Disappointing but adequate for 1 night - Good central location
Powerful shower with lots of hot water Room smelt musty, needs airing
Bedding looked old, could do with refreshing
No hanging space. Wardrobe would be better than bookshelves
Room is a bit dreary and dated, could do with updating
Hello Fresh box of food delivered in back alley, still there when we left, could attract rats
- Else (10/5): A treat along the Dales Way. - It was very well appointed and attractive. It was such a treat for us as travellers to stay somewhere so comfortable and roomy. Nothing
- Lee (8/5): - Good location, had everything for a couple nights stay Room felt damp and musty, could do with a chest of drawers for clothing etc.
- Mark (9/5): - Really well-located, just off the main street. Excellent facilities. Ideal stopover if walking the Dalesway or exploring the excellent walking opportunities in tge Sedbergh area. N/A
- Paul (9/5): Had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay and enjoyed everything that this accommodation had to offer. - Very well presented property with lots of nice features and very comfortable in an ideal location in the town. Possibly might be worth thinking about taller bedside table to make things easier to reach
- Christine (8/5): Location was perfect for our requirements and facilities were adequate for our short stay. - central location. limited parking near to the property for unloading/loading.
- Anna (9/5): Superb -
- John (10/5): We had a lovely stay in this quaint apartment. - Lovely apartment in a quaint village.
- Burnett (8/5): Very good -
- David (10/5): Lovely and comfortable stay and everything you need, would definitely recommend - Love the style and had everything you needed for a comfortable stay, very clean and tidy, friendly host, free parking, central location Nothing
- Donna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alexander (10/5): An easy check in and very well furbished property suited our one-night stay perfectly. - It was a comfortable apartment with very stylish features.
- Dianne (10/5): Great location.and good value - Great location, had everything you would need for any stay. Very well equipped and homely .
- Theresa (10/5): Perfect accommodation in a lovely setting. Would definitely recommend. - Booking.con search Facilities and the decor
- Judith (9/5): Lovely comfortable, safe, attractive apartment. - Everything I wanted for self catering, great location very near Dales Way walk, lovely town. Host kindly gave me a laundry pod so I could do a wash (and not have to lug detergent a further 25 miles in my rucksack!) Nothing major- though key safe may be a bit high up for shorter guests (I'm 5ft 2in and had a bit of a reach). That's me being short though!
- Peter (10/5): A perfect place for our overnight in Sedbergh. - Beautifully and characterfully decorated. Well appointed. Lovely that tea, coffee and milk were left for us. Convenient parking.
- Nicola (7/5): Lovey couple of days , nice little accommodation . - Lovely little place in an excellent location. Bed very uncomfortable, constant horses going through the Main Street right up until 1am .
- Alison (10/5): Very comfortable - home from home. - Beautiful apartment, well equipped. Everything I needed.
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ernest (10/5): Cosy and comfortable with a bit of luxury too - So comfortable and lovely decor. Was hard to work out which key box it was / tried the neighbours first!
- Susie (10/5): Exceptional - A really beautiful little cottage in the perfect location. It is on the quiet high street of Sedbergh (very little noise in the evening). We had a lovely nights sleep in the bog comfortable bed.
Kitchen is well equipped.
Nice shower.
Decor is lovely, a very pretty and quirkily little cottage.
Handy parking very close by.
- James (10/5): Lovely place to stay in Sedbergh - The Old Chair Workshop is a lovely place to stay, is very comfortable and stylishly furnished, and is very well situated on Sedbergh Main St. The owners very kindly provide a parking permit for the village car park opposite the property.
- Carola (10/5): Beautiful, cosy apartment in a charming town. - Beautiful, exciting decor. Comfortable and cosy. Great location. Nothing
- Joanne (10/5): Brilliant! - Well organised and everything thought of. Very happy👍 All really good
- Christopher (10/5): Delightful stay. - Beautiful stylish well equipped comfortable accommodation. Great location Sedbergh is delightful. Fantastic local pubs serving great food. Walks from the door step. Just a wonderful short break.
- Beardall (10/5): Hidden gem - The location is excellent with everything you need on the street, cafe, pub grub, fish and chips or pizza, kebab ect. Parking is really close and free. The apartment is cosy, clean and charming. I stayed with a friend while we were counting deer for forestry and he used the pull out bed which he said was very comfortable. The main bed was very comfortable. I will probably book again to take my wife for a short break because it was so nice . I can't really pick any faults with it .
- Ben (9/5): Great location and comfortable bed - The location is perfect, and it's quiet at night. The kitchen and bathroom are suitable for short stays. You can eat at a small table in the kitchen area. Nothing
- Jen (10/5): Perfect - Everything. The place is absolutely gorgeous. Key lock box was a little hard to open - persevere with it.
- Rebecca (8/5): Very good - Good location, well equipped kitchen. Bed could be comfier
- Danielle (9/5): Superb -
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rob (8/5): Very good - Sedbergh is a great centre for walking and mountain biking. The Old Chair Workshop is central. Well equipped. Clean. Too much clutter left little room to put our kit. Also all the art suggested that we should be in France. However Francophile the owners might be, perhaps more pictures of the Howgills and Dales? Let's promote our own area.
Personally, I would prefer not to bang my head on a plant everytime I visit the WC! Other guests clearly love the numerous plants and "objects d'art", so it must just be me!
- Kay (8/5): Very enjoyable. - Excellent location and very well equipped kitchen.
Very comfortable bed and the heating was good The sofa bed when used as a sofa wasn't very comfortable
- Leanne (9/5): Superb - Unique and high quality Nothing
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - Lovey decor, very comfortable bed . Great location Nothing

- Wendy (10/5): Peaceful - Great decor great facilities
- Catherine (9/5): Superb - Quirky charm, and right in the middle of Sedbergh
- Annette (8/5): Had a great stay despite the disturbance - Great location Quirky decor Everything you need Noisy loose manhole cover that needs attention just outside the property
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabeth (9/5): Superb -
- Inspiredstar (9/5): Superb - Cute place. Fully furnished with everything you need. Lovely host. Great location. It has really character. This is something the hosts can't change... there is a manhole outside, which clunks everytime a car goes over it. It's pretty loud. Parking a little way down the road, but not far, so not a real problem.
- Kat (9/5): Superb - It's a really comfortable, cosy place to stay. They've used the space well. The kitchen is well equipped, and there was access to most everything we needed. The location is amazing with some beautiful hikes nearby. I would stay here again.
