Guest Reviews
- Sophie (10/5): Fantastic cottage. - Easy to pick up the keys and it was toatsy warm inside as the heating was turned on before. The Gardener was tydiying the garden as we arrived and he showed us around the outside of the proprty and told us about the village and the general area. The village is well located for local visit in cotswold. Nothing.

- Leila (8/5): We loved the quirkiness with such a great location , it definitely added another level to our Cotswold stay . - We loved the quirkiness, it added a whole different dynamic by having the interest of such an old property to stay in , lots of fun was had with winding each other up in a house which was made for storytelling around the fire , the hares feet , witches bell and scary faces were a great addition. Unfortunately there were so may cobwebs it did feel a little unloved and the two seater sofa was so uncomfortable it was unusable. And there was a dead bird hanging from the window in middle bedroom which had clearly been there a while .
- Kathleen (10/5): Would love to return. - Beautiful property, well-furnished, very close to bus stop (We didn't have a car.), convenient and well-stocked mini market next door but one, and lovely garden.
- Valentyna (9/5): Great stay in a lovely place - Charming cottage, comfortable beds, no noise, good night sleep for all, fully stocked kitchen No coffee
- scott (10/5): Amazing stay. village was lovely - We had everything we needed. Lovely location Small door frames Being 6 foot. Hit my head many times
- James (9/5): -
- Gaia (10/5): - Beautiful place, with amazing garden. I loved so much to stay here.
- Debra (8/5): Cider mill cottage - The property was as described apart from the staircase which we found rather challenging but we coped. The beds were clean and comfortable and it was a great place to explore the cotswolds. We loved the history of the cottage and there were bits and bobs around to show the history Staircase
- Elizabeth (5/5): Passable - The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The kitchen was bright and warm. It was a good location for places we wanted to visit. Most of the rooms were very dark, even on bright days. The stairs were very steep and open on one side, which felt unsafe. Some of the floors were very uneven and there was a deep step (10") inside the front door. Upstairs the sloping ceilings and jutting beams made it difficult moving around.
Not the cleanest cottage we have used and the settee was by far the most uncomfortable we have ever sat on!
- Tim (9/5): Superb - A lovely character property in a great location with great facilities Not recommended for those who can't walk over uneven floors
or go up steep staircase.
- Jannette (10/5): Our stay was very comfortable the cottage was bigger than expected with wonderful original features.the beds were comfy - Beautiful old thatched cottage very comfortable with everything inside to make our holiday special, bigger than anticipated with gorgeous original features. It had a lovely big cottage garden overflowing with flowers so pretty. Nothing
- John (10/5): Cotswold Cottage - Lovely cottage with great facilities in an ideal location for visiting the cotswolds Nothing
- Arun (9/5): Superb -
- Hanna (9/5): Cosy, confortable and characterful - Beautiful, characterful house equipped with everything you could want. It was a very chilly weekend in February when we stayed and sometimes the cottage felt a little cold, however there was a portable heater that we used which helped a lot.
- Ahmad (10/5): The best and true qualities - Old english house The house and the surrounding
- Catherine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roseanna (10/5): Exceptional - Thr cottage was stunning, a lot bigger than we thought it would be. Nothing not to like.
- Ajt99 (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was as described and more. The hosts were very helpful before and during our stay. The property was lovely and we would love to stay again. Cannot fault anything.
- Trebilcock (10/5): Beautiful cottage in a quiet location. - Wonderful old cottage so quiet and peaceful. Hope to return in the future Everything was perfect
- Mark (9/5): Loved our stay in this wonderful 17th Century Cottage - Wonderful historical 17th Century Cottage containing antique and period furniture.
Contains a modern farm-style kitchen and wet room (with underfloor heating) on the ground floor
Lots of heating in other rooms
The beds range from soft to medium and all contain feather/down doonas
Located in friendly village, with the Gardener Arms hotel (which does great meals) easy walking distance
Off street parking behind gate
Great location to use as a base to explore the Cotswold's and Stratford-upon-Avon areas N/A.
For other guests, please note the bedrooms are all upstairs, and the stairs are not really conducive to getting larger suitcases upstairs. (For our short stay we left our suitcases downstairs and carried up only what we needed).
- Graham (10/5): Lovely cottage, combining olde world charm and modern comforts - Quiet spot, good for walks and visiting neighbouring villages. House is splendid mix of well preserved timber-framed, very cosy thatched cottage with a newer space with a modern kitchen and wet room with shower. Had everything needed and a comfy bed.
- Harshil (10/5): Beautiful, rustic property, with a delightful garden. Really enjoyed our stay! -
- Sarah (9/5): Wonderful - The charm and setting of the house was really lovely. The facilities available in such an old property were very good. The location was perfect for our walking and site seeing plans. Difficult to find anything we didn't like. We did turn one double mattress, as it was clear that only one side had been slept in continuously, causing one side to be softer than the other.
- Rich (10/5): Cosy and picturesque. - Cottage is beautiful and in a perfect location for the event we were going to. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. The downstairs shower is incredible! Nothing.
- Lesley (10/5): A relaxing escape from the routine. Loved all the local information about village life over the year - Location was peaceful and quiet, kitchen had all amenities needed Garden needed bit of a tidy, but nothing else
- Bailey (9/5): Superb - Everything
- Gemma (9/5): We were travelling as a family with 2 teenagers and were all enchanted with the cottage. - A uniquely English experience! Great place to relax and perfect location for exploring the Cotswold's villages. A little further afield - Oxford is approx 1hr 20mins & Stratford Upon Avon 30-40 mins. For those driving ..... some helpful hints on which roads to take for scenic vs speedy arrival. Google maps took us via a number of narrow one lane roads which were delightful but may not be for everyone.
- Doug (10/5): Historically preserved, lovingly restored, generously shared, Cider Mill Cottage, inside and out, is true to its 17th ce - Cinder Mill Cottage was a historically unique, thatched-roof cottage, in a small, quiet village of very friendly folk. The private garden abloom with tulips and bluebells was a pleasant environment for leisure and teatime. The beds were comfortable, the water was hot, the kitchen had all the amenities. It was a convenient location from which to explore other Cotswolds villages. One suggestion: maybe a nightlight could be found for the upstairs bathroom
- Sebastian (8/5): Very good -
- Alec (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicholas (8/5): Comfortable cozy cottage good for a quite stay with nice walks locally - Quirky, made a pleasant change from the standard hotel stay No hair dryer garden not enclosed but only miner things
- Austin (8/5): Very good - A very quaint, well furnished 17th century cottage in a lovely location within easy reach of many beautiful places in the Cotswolds and beyond. A very helpful host with good communications - although we never actually met her! It was difficult to get the temperature right throughout the cottage when the weather was cold - and the bath in the upstairs bathroom is looking a little tired. Otherwise, all was very good!
- Diana (9/5): Superb - Lovely cottage set in a quiet village Not having a clothes stand to hang up your coats. Also not enough towel rails to get towels dry.
- Barry (10/5): A perfect weekend cosy getaway - The entire property was perfect and very well stocked - great comfortable beds and really warm and cosy ! Really nothing
- Sophie (10/5): Exceptional - So beautiful. Loved our stay so much xx
- Warren (10/5): Exceptional - What a charming place! Wonderful stay for the family, a magnificent old farm house, beautifully manicured garden, and such a quaint little village !
- Palmyradebanks (9/5): Superb - Centuries old cottage with beautiful original features in a quaint village. Locals and host friendly. Local pub serves good food. lots of room for the family and well positioned to explore the cotswolds.
