Guest Reviews
- Pamela (8/5): Great location. - Great location. Warm and comfortable accommodation. Well equipped and spacious. Would recommend. Had difficulty opening the key lock at times. Front door was catching on the ceiling when opening.
Stairs very steep and not suitable for anyone with impaired mobility.
- Gaye (10/5): Great location . Amazing house - Great location Nothing
- Charlotte (7/5): Nice stay in the centre of Holt - Great location in the centre of Holt and easy to get to Surrounding villages and seaside.
You can see its initial design and furnishing had lots of thought put in.
The car park (although paid) was just around the corner so very handy. Despite having a 10am check out to allow for a five hour clean there were quite a few cobwebs. Mould in one of the showers.
Lacking the thoughtful touches of a place run by an individual. When we contacted about an issue with the shower we got a very generic response.
The front room and kitchen would be a bit cramped if you had the full 8 people staying
- Vivien (10/5): We had a fabulous stay in this large extremely comfortable house - It was spacious, comfortable, well equipped and fabulously decorated. Located in the centre of Holt Nothing
- Donella (10/5): An absolute gem of a place. Quirky - An absolute gem of a place. Quirky and cosy and a perfect location for exploring Holt and surrounding area. Easy check in and would stay again. There were four in our party and as we all were able to have a bedroom each, worked really well Thank you Nothing really. Maybe stronger pressure in top floor shower room. Stairs were steep but we were aware so no problem
- sharron (9/5): -
- Joanne (10/5): Lovely quirky place to stay.... - We loved the quirkiness and location
- Hannah (10/5): We had a great time - Quirky and cosy Stairs to top bedrooms were steep and windy, but this was part of the character of the house
- Stuart (7/5): Good -
- Marie (10/5): Perfect place for a short family break. - Such a beautiful house with amazing period features and soft furnishing, and the beds were so comfortable. Perfectly placed in the centre of Holt for cafes, restaurants and shops in easy walking distance. We found the stairs a little tricky for little legs, and the taller members of the group had a few bumped heads due to the period of the property, but these were minor issues. We did struggle with parking a bit as we chose to go the free on street parking route.
- Donna (10/5): Perfect Norfolk property - Fantastic location with a pay & display car park just round the back of the property. £8.70 for 24hrs 😁 the property is quirky with all the amenities you could wish for. Very clean and extremely well presented. I would definitely recommend this property for a family holiday or a break away with friends.
- Laura (9/5): Great quirky house to spend tim with family in Holt. Lovely town and you are right in the centre. - super easy lock box code. the kitchen could have had some better equipment and more surfaces to cook on for 6 people.
- Denisa (10/5): Exceptional - Keys collected from locker box. no parking, had to pay around 8 pounds for parking nearby
- Catherine (10/5): Relaxing cosy comfortable weekend - Lovely cosy quirky cottage. Could not be more central to all Holt has to offer. Each room has a theme and all very well executed. Well stocked kitchen with all you could need and all essentials provided. Would definitely visit again in the future There was nothing at all that needed to be improved
- Ruth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tim (9/5): Cute accommodation in the centre of a charming small town. - This is an excellent place to stay, as described in other reviews. The location is ideal and right in the centre Holt. This was our first visit. Holt is rather pretty, decidedly middle class, and oddly bustling in the mornings and early afternoons but quiet in the evenings.
The decor of the house is attractive and interesting but not quite as quirky as some reviews might make you think. The layout is certainly a little quirky: small dining room and sitting room at the front, 2 different routes round to the kitchen at the back, steeps flights of stairs with ropes to help you up, but it makes up in charm what it lacks in acres of space. Kitchen well stocked with crockery, pots and pans and utensils. Bathrooms reasonable with electric showers in 2 out of 3, and a bath in the other. Beds quite comfortable. No garden, but you knew that from the listing. You can sit out in the courtyard in the evenings once the gates have been closed to shoppers. The checkout time of 10am is a bit brutal, especially with teenage children, but I suppose it's good to get up and out earlyish once in a while!
- Alison (8/5): Lovely place to stay in centre of Holt - Centre of town. Great access to facilities. Parking just around the corner. Comfortable accommodation. Good to have 3 bathrooms and a toilet too. Enjoyed sitting in the yard after the gates were closed. I guess the steep stairs as some of our group were elderly. We were aware of this though and managed ok.
- Simon (9/5): Location, location, location. - Location, location, location. So much to do in Holt and so central for exploring wider activities on the North Norfolk Coast. Norfolk summer 🌧️ and wind, but we still managed to walk from Cley Beach around Blakeney point and back, visit Blakeney town quay and take the Poppy Line 🚂 from Holt to Sheringham.
- David (9/5): Full of character, comfortable and wonderfully located in the heart of Holt. - Full of character, comfortable and wonderfully located in the heart of Holt.
- Harper (8/5): Very good -
- Victoria (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mary (7/5): Good - Great central location for visiting Holt.
Comfortable beds and beautiful furnishings .
- Jacqueline (9/5): November 2023 - Lovely house, very convenient for the town centre. Steep stairs may be awkward for elderly people
- Laurent (10/5): Lovely house in the centre of Holt, really loved staying at the property. - Well decorated house, lots of charm and really well situated. We have stayed here before and were really pleased when it was available over half term. If you have mobility challenges then be mindful the stairs are really steep. The beds are comfortable although my personal preference is to have a harder mattress.
- Angela (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful house in a beautiful town. Nothing
- Francesca (10/5): Delightful in every respect. - Fabulous period property in an exceptional location in the heart of Holt. Imaginatively furnished. The stairs need to be negotiated carefully! Plenty of handrails to hang onto but keep the lights on.
- Kirsty (8/5): Picturesque farm house feels in the centre of Holt. - We loved the location, the beds were comfy and there was so much charm and character. The kitchen was beautiful and really well stocked. The bath was gorgeous and really comfortable. The ropes as banisters were a nice touch! The windows were right on the walkways which meant that people walking past would stare in a little, but that could be solved with a net curtain so guests can have privacy without losing the daylight.
- Janet (9/5): Great location, lovely house, would definitely recommend and we would definitely stay again. - Great location, great for having a smooch around the local shops. Great pubs and cafes. Enough space for 8 girls on a long week end away, did not feel that we were on top of each other. House is lovely and quirky. More available toilet rolls, washing up liquid and may be a hand towel for the kitchen/downstairs bathroom.
- Michele (9/5): Would recommend or stay here again. Beds comfy and great powerful showers. - Grt location and clean Lounge a bit compact. Only small issue was that we were advised basics there but no pepper, sugar or tea only a couple of coffee sachets. So we had to go out and buy these and carry back on the train.
Which as we came up for a wedding and only cooked one meal and needed teas and coffee was a slight shame but easy to overcome.
- Matteo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Barbara (10/5): Excellent - happy time. - Location was amazing and the ladies in the shop nearby (one of whom owns the property) we’re so helpful and friendly. Interesting house and great facilities for 6 people (I know it sleeps 8 but we were 6). We used side door as main door not great for children straight on to the road. For us it provided everything we needed.
- Peter (9/5): Superb - We were not aware that the stairs were quite so steep.
- Scott (10/5): Great stay thanks - Ideal location
- Helen (9/5): Beautiful old house with lovely decor in great location. - Beautiful house with colourful quirky decor in a convenient location for visiting north Norfolk. Holt itself is a pretty place too. Plenty of room in the housevfor 7 of us. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need. It was very hot during our stay and we could sit outside in the lane once the shops were shut so that was a bonus. We liked everything but a few instructions would have been useful. We didn’t discover the switch to turn the hot water on in the top bathroom until our last day and weren’t sure what to do with the recycling and rubbish.
- Anonymous (8/5): Very enjoyable short stay in a perfect location. - Quirky property with bags of character in a perfect location. Upstairs single beds a little uncomfortable. Showers need upgrading. No washing up liquid or dishwasher tablets supplied.
- Tom (9/5): Great location in the centre of a lovely thriving town. - Superb location as it was in the centre of town with great pubs, restaurants and shops all less than a 5 minute walk. Quirky rooms following different themes. There wasn’t information about recycling of rubbish. Although the description of the property said there was some, there was no washing up liquid and only a single dishwasher tablet. A small pack up of unopened kitchen essentials would have been nice. Minor points but easy to rectify.
- Emlyn (9/5): Great location, very clean and well presented cosy cottage, ideal as we were working in the area. -
- William (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matt (10/5): Exceptional -
