Guest Reviews
- Vitor (10/5): -
- chris (10/5): I don’t normally fill in reviews but this place was amazing and we were very impressed! Spacious and - Everything from meeting to hand over key to check out. Just fantastic Nothing
- Guest (10/5): - Met at the door and things were explained
- Guest (9/5): Enjoyable cosy cottage - Locality little off track
- Caroline (10/5): Met our needs perfectly, very relaxing and comfortable stay - Spacious, en suites to both bedrooms, hot tub Nothing
- Cheryl (10/5): Amazing !! Loved it - Amazing facilities, loved the cottage and location. It was very comfortable and private. The hot tub was lovely but not working properly with the jets and the microwave had not been cleaned.
- Tom (9/5): Beautiful countryside cottage. - Everything was fantastic. Beautiful property, great facilities. 20 minute walk from the village which had very limited options for dining in the evening.
- Nevile (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jamie (10/5): Beautiful, spotless, well equipped private cottage that’s perfect for time to yourself - Cottage was spotless. Hosts were extremely friendly. Location was very private. Not much around it but that’s what we wanted. Nothing
- Sarah (5/5): Place beautiful with niggles, Owner is not to be challenged. Beware. - On the face of it, this house is lovely. It's in a wonderful location, quiet and peaceful. The house is clean and well presented. Andy was friendly and showed us around. Everything seemed lovely. nice welcome basket with coffee pods, tea bags, butter, bread, and a couple of welsh cakes. pint of milk in the fridge too. Bedrooms are lovely looking and both have an ensuite. downstairs loo has an electric shower. Hot tub was clean and lovely views from there. We always book 2 bed places as we sleep separately, so this cottage was ideal in that respect.
the second bedroom bed is memory foam, I slept reasonably in this one. My husband took the main king size bed as he can't sleep on memory foam. So, on the face of it - it is a dream place. I should have researched a little more thoroughly as many previous reviews that other people have had to contact the owner quite a bit throughout their stays (read reviews afterwards). All of my complaints bar one or two are already in previous reviews here and elsewhere online.
The internet is limited there. We don't have TV at home, and hubby turned it on and went through the channels, but everything was stuttering and digitised pixels, so we gave up. It's not a deal breaker, telly is it's just novel for him.
King size bed mattress springs are noticeable, and my husband slept terribly, so as you can imagine, our joint birthday / valentines weekend was like trying to romance a porcupine.
Water on a combi boiler so it doesn't run out of heat, but the boiler doesn't seem to constantly heat the water and it runs hot, then cold and the bath just doesn't get hot enough. we slowed the flow too as we have a combi at home but once it was cold it didn't want to warm up.
Downstairs shower is electric and I think needs looking at - ran it for a solid five minutes and not hot at all.
We followed the log burner instructions to the letter, but without keeping the ash door open a tad, the draw just wasn't enough to keep the fire lit, so we had to keep it ajar, but still not great ... didn't seem to output much heat either, we used the logs that were included and bought more including kindling, but brought most of those logs home as ran out of kindling from trying to re-ignite the fire... after giving up, we put the heating back on.
Andy explained that the hot tub was locked to 38deg, but in February, this isn't hot enough. We only used the tub twice and couldn't stay in for long.
- Ashley (8/5): Great host, very cosy cottage - Very warm welcome. Clean and cosy property in peaceful surroundings. Hot tub was great Very minor issues, with slippery flags outside door. Toilet flush was broken which would have been fixed if we requested and tv remote only partially working. All minor issues and not detract from an all round lovely stay
- Mark (10/5): Home from. home - There was nothing to not like. peace and quiet privacy. no one to bother you just the right place to go to relax and get away from the rest of the world. and chill. Heavenly nothing
