Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I had a good time. The place was clean and comfortable for 4 to 5 people.
- Nicki (10/5): Accommodating, Affordable, and Accessible - I ended up arriving very early to the hotel and called the number I was given to ask to drop my bags off. Because check-in time was 3.5 hours after I had arrived I was willing to come back. Instead of instructing me to come back later they said they'd see what they can do about letting me arrive (very) early. It didn't take long for someone to show me to the room and get me set up. As I arrived at the room the poor cleaning lady was still hard at work. I dropped my bags off and told her to take her time and that I had to do some shopping anyway.
After I had come back there were absolutely no issues with the room and the view was amazing. I was extremely pleased with the overall service- and even though I was an inconvenience they were very understanding and I was treated well. The room itself was very nice and had all of the amenities listed including a washer and dryer and kitchen.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in the downtown area as everything is within walking distance (and depending on which way your room is facing you can see all of the tourist spots easily).
The only thing is this seems to be an apartment residence with a few rooms turned into a hotel stay so it does not have a reception desk. That being said the owners are very responsive and are quick to meet you with the keys.
- Ethan Teng (6/5): Good location in downtown Toronto, Canada. - The place was nice and clean and comfortable. The location was great for walking in downtown for shopping etc. It was difficult to get a hold of Sarkar or he did not respond to my text about his WIFI login and password after we have received the keys to the suite. Also, we were only staying for one night and we needed to park our car over night, instead of just parking in the guest parking lot, we had to pay $30. I wish he would have suggested that there is a guest parking, but he didn't which was a little annoying.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - We had never rented a downtown condo before, choosing hotels instead. We had one night booked at the Royal York but it was sold out for the other, so I look around and found the Sarkar Suites in a fantastic location blocks away with 2 nights for the price of 1 at the Royal York. I thought we'd try it.
The manager, Sam, was good on communication by text and phone and showed up quickly to check in. It's not a hotel, so there is no front desk. They just leave the room open with a key inside. Parking worked great too, with a designated spot.
Sam gave me an option to upgrade from the 1 bedroom suite on the 7th floor to a 2 bedroom on the 53rd floor for a very reasonable fee. We took it.
The views were amazing seeing out to the Toronto Harbour. The location is at York and Lakeshore, across the street from a Longo's supermarket and the secure, outdoor viewing area to watch the Raptors and Leafs in their playoffs.
The design of the unit was fine with an ample kitchen area. I appreciated that there were a couple of coffee packets (and filters) plus 2 bottles of water in the room. Nice touch.
So in concept, this was great (location, price, layout, space).
BUT, the quality and upkeep sucked.
The shower handle was off (good thing there was a 2nd).
The patio furniture was broken and tossed in a jumble outside.
Neither patio door could be locked, with cigarette burns on the carpet.
Walls were skuffed, the couch was falling apart.
All fixable, but I would rent Unit 5302 again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I like the style of this place. Since I’m new to the area, the place was a puzzle at first
